J2ME Bluetooth Mac

Hi. I downloaded the Java ME 2.2 WTK from the Sun website (the Linux version). I decompressed the .bin, but obviously couldn't run the installer (not linux). So, I have the libraries, but any installation that was supposed to happen, didn't. I'm trying to use JSR082 (the Bluetooth library), and 'javac' works fine, but I keep getting this error when I tried to run the program via 'java':
javax.bluetooth.BluetoothStateException
at com.sun.kvem.jsr082.bluetooth.LocalDeviceImpl.<init>(LocalDeviceImpl.java:185)
at javax.bluetooth.LocalDevice.getLocalDevice(LocalDevice.java:95)
The command I execute is: java -classpath $MIDLET_APIS:./ MyClass
where MIDLET_APIS is a colon ( : ) separated list of JAR files.
I'm running Mac OS 10.4.8 with Java SE 1.5.0. Any ideas?

I am having the same problem...... the Bluetooth Mouse will click (if cursor placed over the menu with a different USB mouse) but won't scroll. Naturally I changed the batteries.
I bought the iMac and Bluetooth mouse and keyboard in November 2005. the mouse failed in May 2006. The keyboard still works fine. I drove for over an hour to take the mouse back to the store from which it was purchased. They tried it, it failed to scroll, and they exchanged it with a new mouse. I drove the new mouse home and it failed immediately. I tried it on my neighbor's Mac and it failed in the same manner..... click, no scroll.
Apple better get this problem solved. I have been a diehard Mac used at home but if operating system reliability and functionality merge with Windows and the Apple hardware, which historically has been very reliable, deteriorates, then the Intel chip ploy may backfire.

I think that the logic needs to be build up in the DISP part of the Search help exit.
What you can do is also get the Plant in the search help as an export parameter.
Then in the Return Tab you can check if the plant = 'AA', delete the data.
e.g.
      LOOP AT record_tab.
        IF RECORD_TAB-STRING+22(2) = '90'.
          DELETE record_tab INDEX sy-tabix.
        ENDIF.
      ENDLOOP.

J2me bluetooth application please help it's urgent..

Change Bluetooth MAC Address on MacBook... for Pioneer radio sync

Okay before people get into an uproar...
Pioneer has a Bluetooth add-on for their touch screen nav radios. It allows a bluetooth enabled phone to send and receive calls, as well as sync their phone books.
Problem is that the iPhone does not allow a user to send their phone book over bluetooth. Currently I am syncing my iPhones phone book to my MacBook. I found out that the Pioneer unit ID's its phone book by the Bluetooth MAC address that uploaded it- ie you could have 4 phones hooked to the unit, and each one can have their own separate phone book, and the unit knows which phone book goes to which phone by Bluetooth MAC address.
What I would like to do is change the Bluetooth MAC address on my MacBook to match that of my iPhone. This way I can send my phone book over to the Pioneer unit, and then hook up my iPhone to the unit and be able to use the contact dial build into the Pioneer.
Hope that all makes sense. Is this possible? Is this possible and no one wants to talk about it? Its just too bad that Apple gave the iPhone such a stripped down Bluetooth option list.

I don't think that's going to be possible. The MAC address is hard wired into each device. Everyone is different. There is no way(at least that I'm aware of) to change it.
There are instances when you can "spoof" a MAC address, but the only place I've seen this was in routers... This allows the router to pretend to be, or spoof, a different MAC address... it doesn't really change it. And note that in this case that router is between the spoofer and the spoofey, so to speak.
I just don't think you'll be able to do what you want the way you want.

I think giving own belonging to others for use by them is mainly addressed by this term.
Even if the term "to share" covers both giving as well as receiving the System Preferences,
the Bluetooth section should cover these two. Otherwise the naming is misleading.
Currently for sending files through BT to peers works even if the BT sharing is disabled.

Question about j2me bluetooth lack of documentation!

I don't know if I am searching in the wrong places. I am coding a simple (at least for now) java application that communicates through bluetooth.
I have been using the j2me api available at http://java.sun.com/javame/reference/apis/jsr082/
But it lacks all sort of information! The API is there... the class and methods are there but nothing is explained....
For example, if you follow the link above to the api, then click in the DiscoveryAgent, then go to the definition of the method searchServices, this is what it tells you:
public int searchServices(int[] attrSet, UUID[] uuidSet, RemoteDevice btDev, DiscoveryListener discListener) throws BluetoothStateException
I can see the declaration, I even deduce what each argument is supposed to be, but..... attrSet???? what is this.... there is a complete lack of information on everything, I find myself googling for everything and finding magic numbers that sometimes make things work. Is there any online resources for bluetooth j2me programming?
By the way... this thing about the attrSet is my latest doubt... if you know what values can be used in there please let me know:)
But my problem is not about this particular method... is about all of the documentation.
If anyone can point me into some place where a good specification can be found i would much appreciate it

Bluetooth mac to mac - File Transfer Problem

Okay, Transfer files from one to another mac via BlueTooth File Exchange . the grouping of files were 80gb of mp3 files being pulled from a external drive being sent to my other mac's external drive as it prepared the file it ran for a period of time after a while it said out of space although it never even sent one file to the other computer it filled my hard drive of the computer hosting the external drive of files now i can't locate the source of nearly 40+ gb of wasted space can someone help?

Hi, Michael. Why not just connect both external drives to the same Mac and forget about BlueTooth?

Hi,
You need to give more information regarding what IDE you want to use etc. However, I am using Netbeans 5.0 with JDK1.5 alongwith Netbeans Mobility Pack 5.0. All of these can be downloaded from the sun website. You'll also need Java Wireless Toolkit Latest version. Once this has been properly setup then you'll need to follow some examples to see how things work in J2ME. I think you can start from http://www.netbeans.org/kb/50/quickstart-mobility.html
To communicate with your PC using bluetooth you'll need a Microsoft support bluetooth dongle and an API than you can use to access services. I am using Bluecove 1.2 and it is working perfectly fine. It can be downloaded from http://sourceforge.net/projects/bluecove/.

unless you are using a memory card, i don't think you can. I have a motorola e850 from verizon and I can't access the main phone memory. Hope you can find a way.

Restoring WinClone to another (bluetooth) mac

used WinClone to make a clone of my Macpro boot camp partition onto external hd. Made a bootcamp partition on my i7 mac...restored macpro clone OK with WinClone from the external HD ok...but...because my i7 has wireless keyboard & mouse (presumably) I don't get the Windows or Mac startup options when I reboot the i7 holding down down the option key on my i7 bluetooth kb...so am I obliged to do a new Windows install on the i7 or is there another way to use the clone on the external HD? TIA

Mac Pro can mean a workstation model, though it sounds like you have a MacBook Pro.
I think it is always necessary to boot from Windows 7 DVD once restored to do more repair modifications and update the boot file. Maybe even run some command.
Does Windows 7 show okay in Mac Startup Disk c.p. to change default to Windows?

I get the message above when attempting to connect (pairing ok) my 4S to my Mac Pro.

I downloaded the new VOCAL app(s) that are intended to allow the voice to text feature of the 4S to work for dictation on the MAC. The MAC app loaded and is on my task bar, the iPhone app say "no new connection". There isn't much documentation so I tried tethering the iPhone, no connection, I turned wifi on both, no connection, and so I thought perhaps bluetooth might work.

The dongle works fine in my old macbook with the same OS, but that already has Bluetooth capability.
It shows up in my profiler on the Mac Pro, in the USB bus
The problem is that when I try to use it, I get the message (in Sys Prefs>Bluetooth) "Bluetooth power is off. To use Bluetooth, you must first turn it on". But the "On" and "Discoverable" buttons are ticked, but grayed out, and I can't turn Bluetooth on.
There are no software updates available to me. Startech support say it should work, I don't need any drivers for it. I can't think what else to do. Can anyone advise me please? I know I may be able to install a card, but this dongle should just work, shouldn't it?

Testing J2ME Bluetooth Apps within an IDE

Hi,
I'm trying to find out how I can test a J2ME app that communicates with Bluetooth from within an iDE (I'm using Eclipse). I have an application that should read data from a bluetooth GPS unit, but I cant figure out how to test it, short of deploying it to the phone and testing from there.
I have the Carbide.j pack installed, and there is an option "S60Device_over_bluetooth", but when I try and run this emulator, it stalls at the "Creat JAR file stage".
Is it possible to test a bluetooth application like this from within an IDE?
Is "S60Device_over_bluetooth" the emulator that I want to be using?
