Jasper response parsing

Hi All,
I have a lot of problems in parsing SOAP web service response of Jasper
The major problem is that the report document in the response appears at the end of the response. It appears even after the closing tag of the soap response. The images in the response are returned in binary form.
Because the response is partially binary and partially characters so I am not able to parse it correctly. If i make a web service call using APEX webservice references and then put the response in a collection then I get an error. I guess APEX collections are not able to handle this response. I say this because If I call the webservice using UTL_HTTP, then I get the response.
Has anybody parsed a Jasper SOAP web service response which has a report in it.
I have gone through http://www.opal-consulting.de/apex/f?p=20090928:4: but I am not using it.
My question is focused on parsing the response and not on finding other ways of getting it
Thanking you in anticipation of your kind help
Regards

Hi anonymous ;),
I believe that your solution includes a web application and some pl sql packages. I feel that web services are simpler to use and hence I prefered this solution.
I havnt downloaded the package but I believe that the code must be wrapped hence I will not be able to appretiate the beauty of the solution.Well, yes and no. Here is a view of the architecture: http://www.opal-consulting.de/downloads/JasperReportsIntegration/images/screenshot.151.png .
The communication begins in the database by using the plsql package interface (the package is NOT wrapped by the way). There you specify which report you want to use on the server side (tomcat) including which parameters. The plsql package will just construct the url and call the url of the j2ee application residing in the tomcat using utl_http.
In the tomcat your report will be used and a jdbc connection will be initiated to call the database again.
In the whole process you don't need an installation of JasperServer, just my integration kit on tomcat. It includes the required JasperReports libraries.
I believe that you must have found a way out of this trouble since you have a solution in place. I humbly request you to suggest a possible way to parse SOAP web service response of JasperWell, I cannot help you here. If you want to learn to handle SOAP request, then please do. But I don't like the complicated stuff ;). Thus I have implemented a simple url interface which does the job nicely. All you get returned is a blob containing the generated report in the desired format .... very simple :).
Cheers and all the best,
~Dietmar.

    I turned on the session debugging. I am running my application on Linux, so the debugging info was moved to a log file. This log file is very large (around 1GB) and I am unable to open it.

    the problem was due to high volume message (247 MB ) ...Java stack was not able to process this huge message ,that is the reason ,it started automatically  and as a result  , "HTTP Status Code 200 Received But Error During Response Parsing" due to unavailability of AFW during Call adapter step in the pipeline processing...
    We have done the following activities in order to solve this problem....
    increase the value of  icm/HTTP/max_request_size_KB to 512MB
                                        icm/wp_roll_timeout   to maximum
                                        HTTP TIMEOUT to 1800 sec
                                       icm/wp_roll_timeout   to maximum
                                         mpi/total_size_MB  to maximum
                                       mpi/buffer_size  to maximum
    and then increased the maxthreadcount ,maxcontentlength using config tool...
    and also increased the java heap size to maximum....
    After doing everything ,the file has been successfully processed....
    the problem has been resolved...

  • JNDI LDAP Response Parsing Problems

    Help!
    I am having problems dealing with LDAP responses using JNDI 1.2.2 with the
    LDAP SPI.
    It seems that the detinguished name is unparsable but as far as I can see
    the server output is fine. Any clues how to get around this? Have I done
    something wrong or is the LDAP spi unusably buggy?
    Please could you also reply in mail as this is an urgent matter for the
    project I am working on. If the LDAP spi is unusable I will have to change
    direction completely...
    Thanks in advance,

    The experimental code causing problems is this (except I have substituted
    hard coded values that were bombing into the code):
    Hashtable env = new Hashtable();
    env.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY,
    "com.sun.jndi.ldap.LdapCtxFactory");
    env.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL, "ldap://directory.verisign.com");
    InitialLdapContext context_ldap = new InitialLdapContext(env, null);
    Attributes match = new BasicAttributes(true);
    match.put(new BasicAttribute("cn", "microsoft"));
    NamingEnumeration enum = context_ldap.search("", match);
    NameParser parser = context_ldap.getNameParser("");
    while (enum.hasMore())
    SearchResult result = (SearchResult)enum.next();
    System.out.println("Parsing " + (result.isRelative() ? "[relative]: " :

    at least you need cn= in front of the name.
    Here some more questions you may ask yourself:

    Can you retrieve it using the ldap command line utilities like ldapsearch?

    I have used Firefox for many years and never encountered such a problem. It seems to be only Yahoo mail. The problem started last week and is making it nearly impossible to access my email on this computer. It does not happen on my laptop at home.

    Update
    OK, Today I went ahead & booted & tried again & it worked this time.
    Not sure why it didn't yesterday. Maybe the servers were just overloaded? Several others reported similar.
    Also yesterday when I ran Speedtest it showd download at about 25 mbps, This morning just before I re-started the download it was showing just above 30 mbps.  So maybe the internet was less busy? Or at least the parts between me & the test server.
    & so far it is working ok.

  • Opening new web page using servlet and jasper report. ?

    Hello,
    I am developing one small web application and implementing jasper report in it. I am using jasper report with servlet. Which is generating one pdf file and displaying in same browser. But I want to open this report in new browser. Which is only display that report window. I am trying it. response.setContentType("application/pdf");
                   /response.addHeader("Content-Disposition", "attachment; filename=" // this is basically for downloading pdf file.
                             + request.getParameter("D:/rnext/30-oct-2009/sms/web/jsp/Reports/allstudentsofwholecollege.jasper") + "");
          response.setContentType("application/pdf");
          response.setContentLength(bytes.length);
          servletOutputStream.write(bytes, 0, bytes.length);
          servletOutputStream.flush();
          servletOutputStream.close();In this code it is showing me attachement file of report.
    When I changed the response.addHeader(Content-Disposition", "inline; filename=" // this is basically for downloading pdf file.)
    It is opening in same window. Please help if you can. It is urgent. please help.
    Thanks in advance.
    Manveer

    Use target attribute with link you have placed on you JSP page. [Look Here|http://www.w3schools.com/tags/att_a_target.asp]
    Also remove Content-Disposition header if you want to open file in browser.
    In latest browsers it might be possible you will see new tab opened rather then whole new browser window, This depends on browser settings.

  • Custom tag lib, tomcat server cant parse descripter file

    Hi there, I'm working on custom tag libraries, and I have created a simple tag which prints a string when it is called from a jsp file. And I have created a descriptor file for that perticular tag and also created a jsp file which is using the tab lib that I have created, I have placed all these files in their corresponding files, well the problem is when I'm trying to call that jsp file it says the server can't parse the tags.tld file, because <urn></urn> must be declared. And can anybody throw some light on this! it would be much of help from you side, regards, Raasi

    <!DOCTYPE taglib

                   <rtexprvalue>true</rtexprvalue>

         </tag>
    </taglib>
    I guess tag urn is not required.

    Hello,
    Were you able to find out the cause of the problem you were having with the "/WEB-INF/struts-html.tld" error?
    I'm stuck for a while on this problem, your input would help a great deal.
    Thanks,
