Java application watching network calls?

if i have a java application open and running, do i have access to what network calls are being sent out of the computer?
for example, could i see what requests web browsers are making? could i see what traffic the itunes is doing? or at least where the calls are going to?

I have a JDBC application running against oracle database on NT server. There is another non-java application need to call my java application. The programs that non-java program can call are .exe, .dll, and .bat files. I wrote a Dos script and save it as .bat file. Every time this .bat file was called, the dos screen will be shown. Anything I can do to let Dos screen not shown, or anything I can do to wrap my java classes into an .exe file? Thanks in advance.

If your tool can run a .exe and supply arguments, why not simply invoke "javaw <jvm-args> <class> <class-args>"?

I have created separate Java applications using NetBean. Once the user has entered information on one application screen, I would like the a second screen (created as an application) to open once the "OK" Button is clicked. How do I make this separate program an action Listener?

Testing of Java applications over various networks?

If we write an application in java and lets say it works on a device running on GPRS network. How would we know if it would run fine over CDMA, CDG, WCDMA or other networks?

There are emulators that allow you to test your J2ME application on various devices, however the emulators do not emulate the network topology of those device, bur rather simply redirect the network calls to the pc's local tcpip stack.
In order to effectively test your applications on various network enviroments you would physically have to load and run your app on a device connected to such an enviroment.

How to call function in included dll file through java application.

i am trying to create an java application which call c# functions using JNI. i am completed with the code and it is running fine when i tried to run from netbeans IDE. But when i tried from Calculator.jar file, first time it throws this error:

This error is created whenever things go sour on the native side. The first thing you can try, and I assume you are using a Java<->C++<->C# bridge which includes two dlls, one created by C++ and another by C#. Is to make sure that the C# dll is compiled using /t:module switch during compilation.
If you are using VS2008, or VS2005, you can add a post build syntax like:
csc /t:module /out:"$(ProjectDir)$(OutDir)YourModule.dll" "$(ProjectDir)YourCSfile.cs"
Hope this helps! If not, ensure first that the native code works by creating a native test app for it.

I've created db2 stored procedure which is running perfectly on db2 server after giving a CALL to it. But when I tried to call this same stored procedure in java application, its reflecting with following error......

Firstly, I tried out with execute() and getMoreResults() to check if the statement is returning result set. - Its returning "null" only.
Secondly, I tried with following one by one :
1. Find a new jdbc driver
2. Write a different stored procedure.I am using DB2 Express edition - DB2 v9.7.0.0
I have the required jar files - i)db2jcc.jar ii) db2jcc_license_cu.jar
From these I found the available jdbc drivers as -
i) com.ibm.db2.jcc.DB2Driver
ii) COM.ibm.db2os390.sqlj.jdbc.DB2SQLJDriver
iii) com.ibm.db2.jcc.uw.DB2StoredProcDriver
I tried out my code by using each of these drivers, but still returning result set as null.
Moreover, I changed my stored procedure which has cursor returning result set. In this case also, result set is null.
Code snippet for this SP is -

How to call a java application in a jar which is in a war file of a ear ?

I have a Ear file which contains a war file.
xx.ear/META-INF
xx.ear/YY.war
and the YY.war has the following structure:
YY.war/META-INF
YY.war/WEB-INF
YY.war/WEB-INF/classes
YY.war/WEB-INF/classes/com/
YY.war/WEB-INF/classes/com/mycompany/
YY.war/WEB-INF/classes/com/mycompany/MyClass.class
MyClass.class is a java application which has a main method.
how can I call this MyClass applicaiton from the xx.ear??

an ear file is a standard jar with a different extension. You may
be able to get away with just adding a manifest file to it that
specifies the main class (make it an executable jar with a different
extension).
I don't know if this will handle the nested war file though. It may.

Calling Portal application from current webdynpro java application

Hi Experts,
We are having Portal 7.4 SP6 framework.
Application-A -> Web-dynpro java program pushing data into R/3 using BAPI.
Application-B -> Std. WD-ABAP iView template.
Currently, I am working in web-dynpro java program, where I am pushing some data into R/3 using BAPI in Application-A. And this BAPI data is getting displayed in another z-Tcode and displayed in portal using web-dynpro Abap iView template, which is Application-B
Now I want to align this application, so that Application- A should call Application-B from within the WD-Java framework. And here Application-A should get closed and open application-B.
Is there any standard process using Web-dynpro Java to handle such scenario.

Please check the required source code in WDR_TEST_PORTAL_NAV Web Dynpro component. That will illustrate both Page based Navigation and Object based Navigation.

How to call pdf forms developed in ABAP from WD Java application?

I have a web dynpro ABAP application that that is responsible for generating PDF forms for all other applications (WD ABAP and WD Java).
How can I call the pdf forms generated by the WD ABAP application from WD Java application in a separate window?
These forms are to be called on click of a "Print" button. Also, these forms are non interactive.

in addtion to Nikhil's response. you can write following code on action of print button:
    IWDWindow window = wdComponentAPI.
        getWindowManager().createExternalWindow(
              "<ABAP Application URL>",
              "<Title for window>",
              false);
   window.open();
to Close the application, you can use the window close or u can fire an event to close current window.

Here I have two applications with me. One has been created through WebDynpro ABAP while the other one has been created through WebDynpro JAVA. Now i have to call upon the JAVA aplication from my ABAp application. In other words in need to integrate both the applications so as to have an easy navigation in between them.

Usally to run WebDynpro for Java Application, we get the Application URL.
If you want to call this WebDynpro Java Application from Webdynpro Abap, then create UI element like Link to Action or LinktoURL and give the url as WebDynpro for Java URL.

Assuming that both your applications WDA & WDJ are in the portal & you don't have to pass any parameters to the WDJ application.
Write the following code on the action where you would call the WDJ application.
DATA:
        lr_compcontroller TYPE REF TO ig_componentcontroller,

        lr_port_manager TYPE REF TO if_wd_portal_integration ,
        wa_navigation TYPE navigation.
lr_compcontroller =   wd_this->get_componentcontroller_ctr( ).

lr_port_manager = l_component->get_portal_manager( ) .
* The value inserted into the navigation-target field can be found in the Portal
* content administration tab of your portal. It is the ID or PCD Location field
wa_navigation-target = pcd. " Please provide the PCD Location of the WDJ Application here.
wa_navigation-mode   = '0'. "0 = INTERNAL(same page) and 1 = EXTERNAL(new page).

You can get the PCD from the Page properties of the WDJ application page in the Portal.
