Hi :
can you tell me how to compile java source code.
i have three java file in different packages in a same project.
now i want to compile all the java file in single command.
like this i used.....
JAVAC *.JAVA
i can't compile this , can u advise me how to compile ,please tel me the correct cmmmand

Java Code Compilation in Windows Command Prompt

Hi Everyone,
I have been programming in java for quite some time now using an IDE (eclipse). I downloaded the following java file from:
http://java.sun.com/javase/technologies/desktop/media/jmf/2.1.1/solutions/JpegImagesToMovie.html#requirements
and have downloaded the required JMF. The problem is that I want to compile and run this code in Windows Command Prompt; however, I keep receiving errors upon compilation because I do not know how to make jmf.jar be recognized as a library.

javac -cp jmf.jar;otherJars file1.java file2.java file3.java...

EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005) on compiled Java code

I'm confronted with the following error of this code.
http://db-www.naist.jp/~makoto-y/tmp/Int2LongHash.java
The exception appears only when the system gets high-load.
Is there work-arounds?
I've tried also with jdk1.5.0_06, but the same error occurred.
Converting the inner class to a top-level class has no effects.

Error while running compiled java code

Hi
I have an evaluation license of the JDeveloper2.0 installed on my WindowsNT 4.0 workstation.
I seem to have a problem running my compiled jave code. After compiling the source code(.java file) when I try to run the same I get a message saying
"<FileName> not found in outpath classpath or sourcepath ".
What does this mean and how can I rectify it?

Your classpath tells Java run time where to look for the class files it needs. In JDeveloper the class path is set in your project properties. Select Project->Properties and check that the source and output paths correspond to your myprojects and myclasses directories.

How to get the java syntax errors?Redirect the STDOUT/STDERR from the the JAVA/JAVAC command to a file is one way...
For instance at the commmand line:
javac myClass.java > STDOUT.txt 2> STDERR.txt (Works for Unix variants or Windows OS's)
Then you can do what ever you want with the data contained in the files.

How to compile connection pool sample java code

I recently bought David Knox's "Effective Oracle Database 10g Security by Design", and have been working through his examples with client identifiers and how to leverage database security with anonymous connection pools.
The database side of things I totally understand and have set up, but I now want to compile/run the java code examples, but don't know what is required to compile this.
I'm running Oracle 10.2.0.4 (64-bit) Enterprise Edition on a Linux (RHEL 5) PC. Java version is 1.6.0_20. Relevant .bash_profile environment variables are as follows:

The java source code of one of the examples is below. Is someone able to point me in the right direction as to how I get this to compile? Do I just have a syntax and/or environment configuration modification to do, or is there more to it than that to get this example working? Any help much appreciated.

You are launching java telling it to run a class named 'java' in a package named 'FastConnect'
and java says it cannot find that class.
What you intended to do:
$ # make the directory structure match the package structure
$ mkdir OSBD
$ # move the source file in the directory structure so it matches the package structure
$ mv FastConnect.java OSBD/
$ # compile OSBD/FastConnect.java to OSBD/FastConnect.class
$ javac OSBD/FastConnect.java
$ # launch java using the OSBD/FastConnect class

you might consider changing that to 'osbd'.

Getting java code to compile on unix/linux

I have been using borland JBuilder to run and compile my java code. Recently i tried moving the code to a linux machine in which i have downloaded the JDK to. My classes only use standard java classes with the exception of a jbcl.jar file which has a class that one of my classes relies on. It turns out when i try to run my class i get error messages because it cant find the jar file. Where should I put this jar file? by the way in my class i use the statement: where jbcl.layout is the class i need.

You shouldn't have to change anything at all in your source code to use a different compiler or to compile on a different platform. You just have set up the proper environment and parameters--tell it which .java files to compile, which jars or directories to search for classes in (classpath), etc. For IDEs you do that with the Preferences or Options menu item. For command line compilation you do this with command line arguments, config files (a la build.xml for ant), or environment variables (although relying on the CLASSPATH env var is generally a bad idea).

I have not changed my code from when I supplied it in the first post - I am simply pointing out that I already initiated the String with 5 as the number...I've supplied you with everything I am getting. The three modules are in the original post, as is the error message being received - nothing has changed.
This means with the code posted in my original question I am getting an NPE. I compile the code and run it. I'm able to input the "title" (productName) after the prompt but then get the NPE. I'm not trying to make you read my mind, I'm just asking for help and make every effort to provide as much detail as possible to make that easier on all of us.

1. Let me see if you can define 'logic bomb', then maybe a answer can be supplied. If you simply mean malicious code, then in general you cannot. You can attempt to do the kinds of things that antivirus software does, like check for the existence of known malicious code and code patterns, but that won't work any better on Java than it does on anything else.
2. Google java profiling. Also, for something relatively simple, read about jconsole.

Compile source string like java code

I need to calculate some user defined formulas in my application. I have this formula in string form (e.g. "operand1 * operand2 + operand3" ). I have gained operand values throught the reflection and pars this string throught the StringTokenizer. So I have parsed string with operand values and operators. Is it possible to compile this string like java code ?

Compile to what - a class file?
Yes, it's possible if you don't mind using non-100% pure Java. You can compile them using the sun.tools.javac.Main class found from tools.jar in the lib directory of the jdk.
But from what you say it would be easier to use an existing expression evaluator. Take a look at JEP (jep.sourceforge.net) and BeanShell (www.google.com) before you make any decision.
