JAVA demo error (ora-01031)

Hello,
I need a help with running Java demos for ODM 10g. PL/SQL demos worked fine. Yet, all the JAVA demo seem to have this ORA-01031 Insufficient Privileges error (for instance, at ABNDemo.executeTask for ABNDemo.java). I have changed various setting of DM user privileges but none worked so far.
Best Regards,

Hi,
Java API would need DMUSER_ROLE previlege granted to the DM User account while PL/SQL API does not. You might want to check ~dm/admin/odmuser.sql to ensure all necessary privileges are given to the user account.
Thanks, Mark

    It's Sounds the Privilege issue..
    check these
    - What user is the user connected as ?
    - What is the SQL statement being issued ?
    - Who owns the objects referenced in the statement ?
Various operations required SELECT as WELL AS INSERT privilege to work

  • Throwing error ORA- 01031 while connecting as sys, but not with system

    Hi
we are having oracle 10g on one of the server. When I try to connect sqlplus "/as sysdba"..its throwing error
    ORA- 01031: Insufficient privelege.
But when I tried login with sqlplus system@dbname its getting connected properly. whats the reason behind this? It was
    working fine till yesterday.
    Thanks
    Shiyas M

The reason for this can partly be seen in your profile,
you have asked 17 questions, and 17 of them have been unresolved.
    This isn't very likely,
so likely you are too lazy to label a question as answered.
Your laziness is also indicated by this question, which is a FAQ, and FAQs are most often asked, by people who
    - don't read documentation
    - don't use online resources
    - don't search this forum
    prior to asking their FAQ.
Your equation of SYS as SYSDBA and the SYSTEM account is also incorrect, as SYSTEM doesn't have SYSDBA privileges.
The ORA-1031 simply means someone somehow disabled OS authentication.
Now it is up to you to find out why.
Either by using online resources, or by reading documentation, and researching your own database.
Not by asking a FAQ and never marking any answer as correct.

    Hi,
It solved after change permission of directory that sapdba_role.sql kept to oradev:dba after that it can write sapdba_role.log.
          Thank you for your guideline.
Now, I can ran 'Check database' via DB13 without that error.
    Best regards,
    Choosak B.

I think it's not oracle privileges ... as i have tried with dba privilege and without dba privileges, the same thing runs as oracle (unix) user.. but not by any other user.... any clues??

  • ERRor  ORA-01031: insufficient privileges

    hi all,
i am presently working on logical standby database
but i am facing a problem from primary database
    " select * from V$ARCHIVE_DEST"
    LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_1 valid
    LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_2 ERROR ORA-01031: insufficient privileges
    at present database not synchronizing
    please help
    Vaibhav

    Vaibhav;
Is the password file is missing at standby site? Or is the password different between primary/standby database?
If yes I would correct by copying the password file from the primary to the standby and renaming to match your setup.
    OR
    Try this command :
    Alter database guard standby;Best Regards

  • See error : ORA-01031: insufficient privileges

    hi master
sir i create user with that command
CREATE USER test IDENTIFIED BY t
but not create user and give this error
    ORA-01031: insufficient privileges
sir how i create user please give me idea

It appears you have connected with a normal user
like scott which do not have the priviledge to create a user
you should logon as system/manager to create a user
then give the create user command
    after that give command
    grant connect to 'youruser'

  • Full export error (ORA-01031) (Oracle 8.1.7)

    Hello all,
Please provide any hint/help on the following.
My environment is: Windows 2000 Professional, Oracle 8i rel. 3 (8.1.7) Enterprise Ed.
I use "Administrator" account which is part of ORA_DBA group.
Please note that Security properties of the folder "F:\oracle\oradata\oraavl", where the database files are located, is set for Administrator user, System group, ORA_DBA group to have full control.
I'm trying to do a full export using these commands:
    F:\>set ORACLE_SID=oraavl
    F:\>set BACKUP_DIR=F:\oracle\backup
    F:\>exp 'sys/avlman as sysdba' full=yes file=%BACKUP_DIR%\%ORACLE_SID%.dmp
    The error I get is:
. . exporting table VEHICLES 1 rows exported
    . . exporting table VEHICLE_CREWS 0 rows exported
    . exporting referential integrity constraints
    . exporting synonyms
    . exporting views
    . exporting stored procedures

    Thanks in advance.

Run the export as the SYS user instead of connecting with the "as sysdba" in your connect string. This is a bug and related directly to the Java. It would take too long to explain the details and I'm not sure if it even matters to you because I'm sure all you want is to export your data and move on.

    Hi,
Execute the following command at sql prompt.
    grant dba,resource,connect,sapdba to OPS$<SID>ADM  OPS$ORA<SID>
    grant dba,resource,connect,sapdba to O OPS$ORA<SID>
grant dba, resource, connect, sapdba to  SAPSR3 or SAP<SID>(YOUR SCHEMA NAME)
Also check owner of SAPUSER table
    SELECT OWNER FROM DBA_TABLES WHERE TABLE_NAME = 'SAPUSER';
If it returns value OPS$<SID>ADM than its ok, otherwise you have to drop this & recreate with command
    CREATE TABLE "OPS$QASADM".SAPUSER
           (USERID VARCHAR2(256), PASSWD VARCHAR2(256));
            INSERT INTO "OPS$<sid>ADM".SAPUSER VALUES ('<sapowner>',
    '<password>');
