Java error message on Console

In Console I see worrying long and repetitive lines:
com.apple.systemStarter No matching Java VM 1.3*, Using default.
Then there are many other lines about Executor, igeekinc, frameworks, not finding or loading library...
And then:
Javaapplaucher Application launched with ppc-thin application stub. Using native application stub instead.
And so on... What does that mean?
Java VM 1.3 is for Tiger, isn't it? I have Leopard on an Intel iMac.
Why Systemstarter is looking for Java VM 1.3* ?

I still don't know why the error appeared only today, but I solved the problem deleting a folder called Executor in Mac HD Startup Items' folder (not the user's Startup Items' folder). It's a folder created by the application "Data Backup" (that I don't have anymore on my Mac.. I threw that away years ago).

I have a imac OSX 10.5.8 and get a java "error" message when trying to use a research tool on Morningstar.Java referred me to Apple but they had no updates. Any ideas? thanks.

    Well I solved my problem.
What still doesn't make sense though is that dragging iTune audio files directly on to the iTunes application icon gave me the error message... which is why I originally discounted it as being a potential link problem. If I had been able to get files to open normally (i.e. without an error message) I would have known it was a simple link problem. Strange.
Anyway... relinking my folder of audio files did the trick.
If you don't already know how here are the steps...
iTunes > Preferences > Advanced > click on the "Change" button and browse to the folder that contains all of your iTunes audio files... that's it.

  • Artwork Not Loading - Error Message in Console

I am having trouble loading Album Artwork. I have tried fetching it via Advanced option in ITUNES both logged in and logged out of the STORE.
I noticed following error message in console:
    22/10/2009 20:44:20 [0x0-0x5a05a].com.apple.iTunes[697] Thu Oct 22 20:44:20 Tommy-Gargans-Computer.local iTunes[697] <Error>: doClip: empty path.
Presume this is significant but I am afraid I don't understand it. Any help appreciated.
    Thanks

I think I have read somewhere this is a "non issue" but I still get the error message in my console messages. Wish they'd fix that. It's hard enough to diagnose problems using console without having messages appear that don't mean anything.

    Edited by: user545194 on Apr 23, 2010 4:26 AM

    Hi!
I solved the problem in the meantime.
Solution steps for anyone who had the same problem:
    1. Uninstall Java Runtime, version 6.
    2. Cleanout Windows Registry
    3. Reboot machine
    4. Download and install Java 1.5
    CMD
    5. Set ORACLE_HOME= Your path to Oracle home directory
    6. Set ORACLE_SID= Your DB server
    7. Recreate EM Repository
Result should be a clean EM installation.
    Cheers!

  • Verbose Java Error Message and How to Turn Off

    Hello Everyone,
Does anyone know of a way to turn off the Verbose Java Error messages that are generated via the Portal?  Is there a Portal parameter or perhaps a parameter in the Config tool that can be used?  I am simply trying to limit what is displayed to the user when error messages are generated.
    Thanks,
    Scott

    Hi,
you mean the cryptic error message like:
    Portal runtime error
    Exception ID
    There's a PAR: com.sap.portal.runtime.system.hooks.par
You should check the code, maybe this is the application responsible for these error message. If so, you'd have to make the modifcations there.
    For 404, 401, etc, check:

  • Java error message received when downloading torrent...help

I receive the JAVA error message detailed when trying to download a torrent file on my laptop. I have two browsers installed, Firefox and Internet Explorer. I do not get the message if I download via I.E. so the problem is a Firefox/Java one. the message reads :

    at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method)

Any help greatly appreciated. Java version up to date and correct version. (Why does it work with I.E. and not Firefox ??)

Hmmm. Bang goes the theory of trying to get a heads-up on a 2324 with the other message.
The following is a better bet with a 2330 (rather than a 2324), but it might be useful to get the possibility off the table.
Let's try running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, does itunes launch without the 2324 afterwards?

  • Java Error Message at Leopard Startup - anyone know how to fix pls?

I installed Leopard two days ago on G5.. ran no probs for two days and then - up pops error message. Have called Applecare and they have no info to help. IF ANYONE HAS ANY HELP I'D BE VERY VERY GRATEFUL. Here's the error message. Thanks!! i

    ------------------------------------------------------------

As I posted to another discussion on the topic:
Thanks to all of you for your help with this frustrating problem. I think I lucked into the solution.
A look at my library/logs/crashreporter pointed to a problem brought on by a file associated with a program developed by igeekinc, a Japanese firm that makes backup and rescue software. Names connected to igeek include Prosoft, Indelible, Desktop Backup, Data Backup, and others.
My startup items file included the Executor file related to Indelible which seems to have been placed there some years ago when I tried out Prosoft's Data Backup.
I found a Data Backup folder within my Applications folder. It had an uninstaller program. Clicking on that removed the Data Backup, the Indelible Executor, and the Java error message.
    Fingers crossed.

mavericks is a lot slower than snow leopard, sometimes programs even stop working for approx. 30 seconds.

    2) Excel2008 and office 2008 (database daemon) let me know, that something is deprecated and will be removed soon
Excel latest update was done 2 days ago . Can I stop these messages or remove the daemon?
Any help or idea is apppreciated very much

    Regards,

This usually means that you call the JSF page the wrong way. Try something like http://hostname:port/servletcontextroot/faces/page.jspx
    --olaf

  • Java Error message with Webdeploy

    Hello
It seems that the current Java version 7.0.45 produces a new error message when connecting to an ASA running 8.4(6) with Anyconnect 3.1.04059 through WebLaunch. The java error (information) states:
This application will be blocked in a future Java security update because the JAR file manifest does not contain the Permissions attribute. Please contact the Publisher for more information.
    Is this error/issue allready known?
The installation will continue though, but I still don't like that my users get an error message.
    Thanks
    Patrick

This appears to have been escalated with Java version 7 Update 51.  Now I can not open any ASDMs to my ASAs.  I get Unable to open device manager on .  Here's the java log from when I connect.  I even have the lastest version of ASDM from the bug above (7.1.5.100).
Using JRE version 1.7.0_51 Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM

  • Java error message when trying to use browser locks phone

I have a Bold 9650 and when I go to the internet, I get an error message that says, "Uncaughtexception:java.lang.illegalArgumentException"
It won't go away from the screen when I click on OK. I can say OK over and over until about 15-30 minutes later when it finally decides to unlock.
I have tried pulling the battery, doing all upgrades, backing up the phone, security wiping the phone and it keeps coming back! help please!

    Hello LadyLaura,
In the past this issue was caused by the Yahoo Messenger application. Try this:
1]First delete the application (i.e yahoo messenger). After doing this, you will be asked to reboot and allow it to happen.
2]  Once rebooting is done, go to Options > advanced options > applications and then menu > Modules.
3] Scroll down and to the bottom of the modules list, you would be able to see a net_rim_yahoo_messenger module. Remove that also.
4]  Again you will be asked to reboot and allow it.
5] Now, install Yahoo Messenger once again.
    Thank you,

  • Error messages in Console Log of Apple System Profiler

Today, I manually executed some CRON scripts from the Terminal window as part of a regular maintenance cycle. Before doing so, I ran the Apple System Profiler (OS 10.2.8), clicked on the Logs tab, and checked the Console Log. It had three days of error messages and other info (more on this later), but my intent was just to check the last entries in the log before running the CRON scripts, so that I could detect any additional errors logged as a result of the CRON scripts.
Having checked the log, I quit the Profiler and all other applications. Then I opened the Terminal window and entered:
    sudo periodic monthly
I was prompted for my adminstrator password, and it then executed the script. It took just seconds to execute. Following this, I also executed
    sudo periodic weekly
    sudo periodic daily
The weekly CRON took about 2 minutes to finish, and the daily only a few seconds. I ran Apple System Profiler again and checked the console log and found this additional error message (not present prior to running the scripts):
    Feb 15 13:43:10 Drake-Bradleys-Computer sendmail[865]: NOQUEUE:
    SYSERR(root): /etc/mail/sendmail.cf: line 93: fileclass: cannot open '/
    etc/mail/local-host-names': Group writable directory
(I have inserted hard returns to break the single-line error message into three lines to avoid requiring readers to use the horizontal scroll bar.)
Can anyone tell me what this error means, and what, if anything, I should do about it?
Following all of this, I next repaired my permissions with Disk Utility (and yes, after dragging iTunes 6.0.2 to the desktop). I then ran the profiler, checked the log, and encountered these two additional error messages:
file not in an order that can be processed (local relocation entries out
    of place): ./Library/Frameworks/StuffIt.framework/Versions/A/StuffIt
file not in an order that can be processed (local relocation entries out
    of place): ./Library/Frameworks/StuffIt.framework/Versions/A/StuffIt
    (Again, hard returns are inserted.)
The errors are identical. They presumably were generated by my running disk permissions, as other applications were shut down. It appears the error refers to the Suffit application.
Any ideas what causes these errors?
Finally, a last question. (And thanks for being patient with such a long post.) The console log contains a large number of error messages for each day. This occurs even on days when I have had no apps hang, or any other system problems (power failures, etc.) that I was aware of. Many of the errors seem to involve windows manangement. The most common one is:
    Feb 14 17:11:18 Drake-Bradleys-Computer /System/Library/
    CoreServices/SystemUIServer.app/Contents/MacOS/SystemUIServer:
    kCGErrorIllegalArgument : CGSGetWindowGeometry: Invalid window
    But other examples are:
    Feb 14 17:42:21 Drake-Bradleys-Computer WindowServer[194]:
Cannot merge groups (yet) for wid 1877, otherwid 1881
    Feb 15 10:34:37 Drake-Bradleys-Computer WindowServer[194]:
Reserved range exhausted. (0xbbf45000 to 0xbc271000 goes out of
    bounds)
    Feb 15 10:35:03 Drake-Bradleys-Computer WindowServer[194]:
    CGXRemoveTrackingArea : Invalid tracking area
Is it fairly common for the console log to be filled with dozens of errors like this on a given day even though the iMac seems to be functioning normally?
    Thanks for any advice,
    Drake Bradley
P.S. I have a Casio digital camera and an HP printer hooked up to the iMac, and very recently, an Iomega HDD. (The latter was not connected for the tests reported above.)

    Hi Drake,
Yes, it is common, and I wouldn't worry about it.
These "errors" are not about anything wrong. My guess is that it's a developer jargon to indicate that something didn't happen, only because there is no possibility of it happening given your specific settings/system options.
See for example the statements "System woke from sleep" or "System going to sleep" in "error_log"...
We don't know to what extend these "errors" belong to so many unmodified files that used to do something in UNIX 15 years ago, but are now completely useless, harmless and so small they can't affect Mac OS X performance in any way?
    Enjoy your Mac!
