Hi All,
i am new to sun idm, i have installed netbeans 6.0.1 with tomcat 6.0.14 and then i have installed sun idm inside the web container(webapps/idm). When i stared my webserver manually using startup.batch file then I can easily go to inside administrator interface and i can create users in idm. but when i try to create a project in netbeans and then I try to RUN the project through netbeans .. then Admin interface will automatically opened but I try to create a user i am getting the following error.
com.waveset.util.WavesetException: Can't call method getObjectNames on class com.waveset.ui.FormUtil
==> java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space
Please help me in this ...

  • PDFBox ... Java heap space problem !!

    Hello,
    I'm using PDFBox trying to read (2) pdf files in it, but both are big in size(About 17 MB) each.
    Here is an example for what i want to do :
    public void loadPdfs() {
       String pdf1FilePath = "c:\\java long pdf1.pdf";
       String pdf2FilePath = "c:\\java long pdf2.pdf";
       try {
          PDDocument pdf1File = PDDocument.load( pdf1FilePath );
          //....Do some stuff here.
          pdf1File.close();
          Runtime.getRuntime().gc();
          PDDocument pdf2File = PDDocument.load( pdf2FilePath ); //This line causes the Exception.
       } catch (IOException e) {
          e.printStackTrace();
    } I get this Exception :
    org.pdfbox.exceptions.WrappedIOException: Java heap space
    java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space And if i tried to load only (1) pdf it works fine. So why does this happen ?
    I do close the first pdf, and run the Garbage Collector, so when opening the second pdf, it's as if opening (1) file now, or am i mistaken ?

    Sure, you close the PDF (whatever that does). But you're still holding a reference to it, so it can't be garbage collected. This is one of the rare occasions where setting a variable to null is a useful thing to do.try {
      PDDocument pdf1File = PDDocument.load( pdf1FilePath );
      //....Do some stuff here.
      pdf1File.close();
      pdf1File = null;
      PDDocument pdf2File = PDDocument.load( pdf2FilePath ); //This line causes the Exception.
    } catch (IOException e) {
      e.printStackTrace();
    }  Don't bother to call the gc() method, if garbage collection needs to be done then it will be done.

  • Java Heap space problem

    Hi,
    I have an web application which throws out of memory error when more than 5 users logs in .I am using jboss server with linux box.I have 1Gb physical memory. I tried changing the jvm options but still it's not working .I am using lots of session variables.does this costs any real performance issue? please give your valuable inputs
    thanks in advance
    Sree

    If changing jvm setting s did not work, try tuning the server..Also, try starting the IDE with a new userdir if you get the error when running the app from the IDE.

  • Java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space using jre 1.6.0

    Hi,
    I try to use a SAX parser to read a XML document (about 400MB).
    With jre 1.5.0 everything ist fine. Now I tried to use jre 1.6.0 and geht this OutOfMemoryError.
    Can you tell me how to fix this problem?
    thx

    I had a similar problem (see the stack trace below). There is a known bug
    (http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6536111) in this
    regard. As a workaround I had to skip the DOCTYPE declaration from
    the input stream and then let the parser parse the remaining stream
    content.

  • JVM Java heap space Error || even with -Xms- and -Xmx commands

    hi all, i got a problem by allocating a very great boolean array.
    first of all, here is my testcode:
    public static void main(String[] args) {
              boolean[] testfield = new boolean[70000000];
              while(true){
              //NOP
         }as you see, i try to allocate an array with 70.000.000 boolean values - as 1 boolean may be represented as at least one physical bit we calculate the total amount of needed RAM-Space:
    70.000.000 bit / 8 = 8750000 byte
    8.750.000 byte = 8.75 MByte
    My System ist WinVista Ultimate 64-bit running on a Quadcore T2200 with 2GB-DDR3 RAM
    Looking in my Vista Ressourcemanager shows, that eclipse.exe reserves about 1.023 Mbyte....
    As IDE I use eclipse
    my eclipse.ini looks as follows:
    -showsplash
    org.eclipse.platform
    --launcher.XXMaxPermSize
    256M
    -vmargs
    -Dosgi.requiredJavaVersion=1.5
    -Xms512m
    -Xmx1024m
    -XX:PermSize=512mby using following VMCommand "-XX:+PrintGCDetails" and running the above code the output displays:
    [GC [DefNew: 180K->63K(960K), 0.0008311 secs][Tenured: 43K->107K(4096K), 0.0060371 secs] 180K->107K(5056K), 0.0069249 secs] [Times: user=0.00 sys=0.00, real=0.01 secs]

    Originally i was thinking like that way: Integer.MAXVALUE = (2^32)-1
    => biggest index an array can have
    => biggest allocation possible with ints weights (((2^32)-^1)/8)/1000*1000 = (round) 537 MByte < 2GByte => everything fine .... but it seems like not :-(
    When i try to allocate 60.0000.000 it works fine....but that is far not enough :-&
    thank you very much for your helping answers!

    The Sun Java virtual machine stores booleans as bytes, not bits, so for an array of 70 million booleans you need 70 million bytes, plus 8 bytes for the object header, and 4 bytes for the array length.
    I suspect that your eclipse.ini controls the JVM running the Eclipse IDE, not the JVM running your application. Note that in the -XX:+PrintGCDetails output at the end, it shows you running out of memory with 4MB of young generation and 60MB of old generation. That's the default configuration, as if you hadn't specified -Xms and -Xmx.
    The array of 60 million booleans only requires 60 million bytes (plus overhead), which fits in the default old generation.
    I think you need to put the -Xms and -Xmx in the same place you put the -XX:+PrintGCDetails, since that does seem to display information about the JVM running your application, not the JVM running Eclipse.

    Hi Hussein
    I have a question on this OPP java heap space .
    Let say I have 10 Process allocated for OPP and heap space allocated to OPP is 1024 MB.
    Q 1 . Let say 5 requests are running by 5 OPP processes.. Then how this heap memory allocated ?
    is it something like heap space / number of running requests by OPP (1024/5 in this case )
    Q 2. Let say i have submitted 2 requests . One request needs 800 MB of heap space (based on the past runs )
    And Second one requires 500 MB of heap space .
    In this we will get java out of memory error ? Am I correct ?
    Q 3 . Will all requests after submitted after test case 2 ( Q 2) encounter out of memory errors Since the heap space was exhausted until OPP bounced or full /GC Completed/
    Please Correct me if I am wrong
    --Thanks In advance.

  • Java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space

    I am writing an application in struts for file downloading from the database. I am using struts 1.1 with tomcat5.0 server. File downloading is working fine for images of smaller sizes( i checked utpo 3mb of size). my application should download the files with a maximum 1gb size. But when I tried to download the image of 85mb, "out of memory" exception is thrown" and this is the complete trace of that exception...

    Finally, the problem was :
        jstring str;

            CString cstr = xxx.GetAt(i);
            str =  env->NewStringUTF(cstr.GetBuffer(0));

  • Recon task fails with Java heap space error

    Hi All,
    I have this annoying issue at the moment where a custom recon task will start, process a few users, and then end up with a java heap space error. The app server will then restart after a few minutes and run into the same problem and bomb out while continuing to fill the log file.
    This has only just started and nothing has changed in our environment so it baffles me as to why it has started. The recon task uses some code to do a lookup and then adds the users to certain groups.
    Error from log:

    Error is just related to memory. Why don't you increase memory in your environment ?

    Hi,
    Yes,René van Wijk has said rite..
    Just open the Weblogic console,
    expand Environment-->Server-->(ur managed server)-->Server Start tab
    Just enter the below lines in Arguments:
    -Xms1024m -Xmx1024m -XX:MaxPermSize=256m
    Then bounce your managed server
    This should solve your problem

  • 1) OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space 2) Could not create the JVM

    Hi guys!
    I'm having a lot of memory problems with the java virtual machine and I really need to fix them as soon as I can :(
    I was running an heavy application on Eclipse and at the end it stopped saying:
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space so I tried to enlarge the memory heap space in various ways... editing eclipse.ini (but I cannot go over a certain quantity), trying to change some parameters as:
    -vmargs -XX:MaxPermSize=<memory size>or to launch a jar of my application using :
    Java –jar –Xms1024M –Xmx3000M jarnameAnd now the error I got is:
    Error occurred during initialization of VM
    Could not reserve enough space for object heap
    Could not create the Java virtual machine.I just don't know what to do!
    I'm using a workstation but I don't have it right now in front of me... it should be a 4 core xeon-64bit having 8 giga of ram, under windows vista.
    do you have any suggestions?
    many many thanks!

    Should I have to install a new java version downloading it from this page?
    http://www.java.com/en/download/faq/java_win64bit.xml
    I would download the 64 bit version from this page:
    [http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/widget/jdk6.jsp]
    .. but you should probable be able to find it on java.com as well.

  • XMLReader :  java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space

    I'm using a XMLReader object to Parse XML files. About 20000 XML documents need to be parsed, so the parse(...) method is called about 20000 times in a loop.
    The XML string to be parsed are all about 2500 bytes long. Java 1.5 is used.
    import java.io.StringReader;
    import org.xml.sax.XMLReader;
    private final XMLReader parser;
    private StringReader stringReader;
    public void myParseMethod(final String xml) {
    try {
    stringReader = new StringReader(xml);
    parser.parse(new InputSource(stringReader));
    stringReader.close();
    } catch (final SAXParseException e) {
    } catch (final SAXException e) {
    } catch (final IOException e) {
    Calling the method myParseMethod(final String xml) goes well till about 2000 times. Then the following exception is thrown:

    Badly written code? Look into the Xerces API and you'll find out that I'm using the XML parser the normal way.Not at all. Those APIs deal with any stream. You have gone to a whole lot of extra and unnecessary trouble and expense to read the entire file, probably accumulate it into a StringBuffer, convert that to a String, and create a StringReader around it. Or else you have read the entire file into a char[] array and created a String directly from that. This strategy creates not one but two copies of the entire file in memory, and also wastes time. The normal way is to wrap an InputSource around a FileReader or InputStreamReader, probably with a BufferedReader in between. End of all that pointless and badly written code, end of the two copies of the file in memory, end of the wasting of time, and end of your memory problems too.
    Full stop.

    There are two tables (tableA, tableB) in two different databases. They both have almost same schema/structure. There is mapping between tables on their columns.
    I need to develop a Java application to compare data value between these two tables for a time frame (for example one day) and find missing records or mismatch data.
    The volume of data, even for one day, is huge; almost 70M, 100M. Do you mean this many records? or this many MB. either way they are not that big for Java. If you have collections of up to 2 billion entries, you won't have a problem.
    >
    I have tried to use Thread to split the comparison process in 10 threads. Each thread is fetching portion of data from both tables (for example 7M each) and processing portion them. The issue that I am facing is, I am getting following exception after running:I would suggest you get the program working with one thread first. You will find this is simpler and possibly even faster. Having 10 threads isn't guarenteed to be faster.
    >
    To compare the data, I am fetching data from tableA and add it into List<MyDataObject> listA (the MyDataObject represent a one row data. It is a java bean) and then I am fetching data from tableB and add it into List<MyDataObject> listB
    And then I compare the lists.
    It seems there is limitation in size of List and I cannot add many elements to a List object, it’ll throws Out of Memory exception. The limit is 2^31-1. However an Out of Memory error means what it says. You are out of heap space, so you need to either increase it, or use less memory.
    >
    This method works for small volume, but for large one I get that exceptionIs there any reason you cannot divide the problem so you can process a small volume at a time?
