Java HTTP adapter - without Authentication

Hello Experts,
is it possible to set Java HTTP adapter on sender CC to request no login and password?
I tried to look at documentation but didnt found any setting for that.
Standard case is - when I create sender HTTP channel it requires Basic Http authorization/authentification using popup window to enter login/password.
I`m on SAP PO 7.4
Thank you
vbalko

Hi Vladimir -
There is one blog which talks about how to disable basic authentication on soap adapter.
I assume you can follow the same approach if you want to disable for HTTP adapter. But please note that it disables the authentication for all the channels.
Please refer to William's reply in the below therad for more details.

Path for HTTP Adapter WEB-Inf file is :

  • Java HTTP adapter in PI 7.3?

    Hi Experts,
Anyone adivse me how to implement the java HTTP to File scenario via PI?especially explain me the HTTP sender side and how to test as well.
    thanks in advance.

HTTP adapter now comes in AAE in Pi 7.3.  Except that there is no big difference between PI 7.3 and lower versions. You can go to component monitoring --> adapter engine --> test message and paste your payload and test. You are going to test in adapter engine level instead of abap stack (integration engine).

  • Sender SOAP adapter without authentication

    Dear All,
I am working on one of our customer requirement where i need to send data to SAP ECC 6.0 using SOAP (Sender) and RFC (Receiver).
My scenario is SOAP (Sender) to RFC (Receiver). While configuring the SOAP sender adapter i am selecting 'HTTP' and my QOS is 'Best Effort' as it is a synchronous call.
The Web service URL looks like as follows :
    http://xiserver:50000/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet?channel=:BS_WROUTE:SOAP_SEN_ROUTE_DATA&version=3.0&Sender.Service=BS_WROUTE&Interface=http%3A%2F%2Fxxx.com%2Froute%5EMI_WROUTE_ROUTE_OUT
The problem i am facing is while testing  this web service {generated by PI 7.0 (in ID)} it is asking for user name and Password.
Can somebody suggest me while testing :
    1)  how can we avoid user name and Password?
    2)  Can we attach user name and Password in our SOAP URL? if yes so please suggest me how to attach this.
    Thanks
    Honey

    Dear Stefan,
    Thanks for your reply.
If I am using ABAP Port 8000 for my scenario and my URL is as follows :
    http://xiserver:8000/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet?channel=:BS_WROUTE:SOAP_SEN_ROUTE_DATA
Can i not use this additional string &sap-user=user&sap-password to provide the user name and password in wsdl??
my new URL would be like this:
    http://xiserver:8000/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet?channel=:BS_WROUTE:SOAP_SEN_ROUTE_DATA&sap-user=user&sap-password
Please suggest how can i avoid the credentials.
    Thanks

  • Enabling HTTPS with Client Authentication for Sender SOAP Adapter on PI7.1

    Hello All,
We are currently building up a HTTPS message exchange with an external client.
Our PI 7.1 recieved over HTTPS messages on an already configured Sender SOAP Adapter.
The HTTPS (SSL) connectivity works fine and was completely configured on the ABAP Stack at Trust Manager (TC=STRUSTSSO2)
Login to Message Servlet "com.sap.aii.adapter.soap.web.MessageServlet is required and works fine with user ID and password.
Now we have to configure the addtional Client Authentication.
At SOAP Adapter (Sender Communication Channel) under "HTTP Security Level"you are able to configure "HTTPS with Client Authentication".
But what are the next steps to get this scenario successfully in place?
    Many thanks in advance!
    Jochen

    Hi Colleagues,
following Steps still have to be done:
    - Mapping public key to technical user at Java Stack
As preparation you have to activate value "ume.logon.allow.cert" with true under "com.sap.security.core.ume.service" under Config Tool. At NWA under Identity Management at for repecively technical user the public key certificate
    - Be sure CA root certivicate at Database under STRUSTSSO2
    - Import intermediate Certificate under Certificate List at Trast Manager for the Respecive Server Note
    - use Login Module "client_cert" which you have to configure under NWA\Configuration Management\Authentication for Components "sap.com/com.sap.aii.adapter.soap.app*XISOAPAdapter".
Many thanks to all for support!
    Regards,
    Jochen

Can you please provide some infornation on How  to config receiver http adapter for HTTP POST (Request) without XML tags ?? Our receiving product doesn't support XML formats.
Is there any option to bypass server authentication on the XI?
If anybody has the same experience or know how to please provide inputs.

  • Accessing Java webservice (XML over http) via WCF or HTTP adapter with content-type and authorization HTTP headers with POST method

    Hi Team,
I need to access Java web service which is simple service and accepts and returns XML over HTTP. No credentials are needed to access the service. We need to pass following two HTTP headers (Content-Type and Authorization) along with XML request message:
<GetStatus> message is being constructed in the orchestration and URI is constant to access.
Which adapter shall I use to get the response back? I tried using WCF-WSHttp with Security Mode = Transport, and different options of client credential types but every time, error returned stating:
    System.Net.WebException:
The HTTP request is unauthorized with client authentication scheme 'Basic'. The
authentication header received from the server was 'Basic realm='.
Authentication failed for principal Basic. Message payload is of type:
    String
In Fiddler, request looks line following
    POST <https://URL/GetServiceReopnse HTTP/1.1
    Content-Type: application/xml
    Authorization: Basic cmVmU3RhdHN2Y19kgeRfsdfs=
    Host: <Server name>
    <GetStatus XMLNS="http://server.com/.....">
    <OrgId>232323</OrgId>
    <HubId>3232342323</HubId>
    </GetStatus>
    MMK-007

First, you should not use the HTTP Adapter because it's been deprecated and replaced by WCF.
Start with the WCF-Custom Adapter and select the customBinding.
You should start with the textMessageEncoder and httpTransport and go from there.

  • SOAP Adapter - HTTPS w/ client authentication -SSL termination @ dispatcher

    Hi,
We have a SOAP client sending SOAP message over SSL to PI. We are using client cert for authentication, but terminating SSL at web dispatcher. In this scenario, i) do we need to configure security for XISOAPADAPTER in Visual admin on PI and ii) do we need to set HTTPS with client authentication security option in SOAp Sender communication channel?
My understanding is that since we are terminatinating SSL at web dispatcher (Server authentication happens between third-party gateway and our gateway and when web dispatcher terminates SSL, client cert for auth is passed via httpheader to PI where it is mapped to UME user with sufficient authorizations) we don't need to set the XISOAPADAPTER security (if it is end-to-end ssl we would i guess set up in V. Admin>Security provider service>clientcertloginmodule for XISOAPADAPTER) and we don't need to set the sender channel as https with client authentication ( it should just be http in SOAP sender channel).
Is my understanding correct? I will really appreciate any clues?

  • Http-adapter: Convert html-post to JAVA-post?

  • HTTPS with Client Authentication in SOAP sender Adapter

    Hi All,
In SOAP Sender communication channel. When I generate WSDL with “HTTP Security Level = HTTP:” it works when third party tries to send data to XIwebservice.
But when I tried with “HTTPS with Client Authentication” option its giving error
“InfoPath either cannot connect to the data source, the service has timed out, or the server has an invalid certificate.”
Please guide how to use “HTTPS with Client Authentication” option, and what all configuration need to apply in XI & in third party to use this.
    Regards

    Rohan,
With spy you can trace the entire route, since you are using client authentication using certificate, it would be a better option to verify with the certificate.
You also have the option of using a username/pwd combo though that is not advocated as it lowers security levels and is permeable to passive sniffing.
So the answer to your question is yes, after importing the certificate with sender and third party reciever a test would reveal the complete scenario along with any issues that you could encounter..

  • Busine Process Monitoring: define alert in XI for HTTP adapter

    Hi Experts,
Iu2019m working with SAP XI 7.0 and solution manager 701. Iu2019m configuring BPM.
I want to monitor the error in XI. I have three systems:
Legacy System --> SAP PI --> ECC
The legacy System, communicate whit SAP PI with HTTP request so the adapter  sender in PI is  an HTTP Adapter.
I want to  monitor the errors in the http adapter so I created the  alert category HTTP_ERROR_ADAPTER in the abap stack (transaction alrtcatdef).
When I try to configure the alert in the Runtime WorkBanch I canu2019t find u201CHTTP Adapteru201D in the field u201CAdapter Engineu201D . I can see only jdbc, rfc, mail u2026. Adapters.
I think that I canu2019t see the http adapter because the HTTP Adapter is not a java adapter.
So, how can I monitor the errors in the HTTP adapter sender in SAP PI? Can I monitor the http adapter sender  errors using the field u201CIntegration Engineu201D (u201Cerror categoryu201D = * and u201Cerror codeu201D = * )?
Thank you a lot in advance for collaboration.
    Best regards
    Giou2019

how can I monitor the errors in the HTTP adapter sender in SAP PI?
Alert category option you are trying won't work. The only thing you may check in PI perspective is whether http service is running in smicm. I am not sure but CCMS monitoring could take care of this specific category. Other way without thinking about alerts could be using manual TCPGateway procedure to trace http calls.
    Can I monitor the http adapter sender errors using the field u201CIntegration Engineu201D (u201Cerror categoryu201D = * and u201Cerror codeu201D = * )?
Integration Engine category here won't be actually the http related error, it would be pipeline steps related error.

  • HTTP adapter as receiver to POST name-value pairs - How to?

    Hi,
Scenario: HTTP Sender <> XI <> HTTP receiver (Sync throughout; no BPM)
In this scenario, a HTTP channel is configured to the target URL to post data.
The message mapping results in a XML. HTTP posts the same XML to the target URL.
However, the target URL expects data Posted as name-value pairs.
    eg. eid=45678&zip=11011&ename=Tom%20Lee
How can we configure HTTP adapter channel to post XML data as
name-value pairs (as in standard HTTP Form Post)?
    Any pointers?
    thanx,
    Pops

    Hi Udo,
I currently have a solution (simpler than having a BP), but do not expect it to be the right way of doing.
I am using Java Mapping to convert the XML structure into Name-Value pair. So the output of Mapping is a string like how HTTP post is expected. So the interface mapping having multiple mappings - firstly, the original Message mapping, and then the Java mapping to do the conversion. So, with a small extension, the solution is still kept simple.
However, I thought the POST requirement to HTTP URLs would be a common requirement, and expected the HTTP adapter doing this conversion. So, I am still looking for a straight solution (without any custom extensions).
Any one else faced this situation?
Can't this be handled by HTTP Adapter?

  • HTTPS With Client Authentication

    Hi,

The fault is not at the Soap UI end as I've fired the request at a Tomcat server and confirmed that a certificate is sent when requested.
    Sender Communication Channel,
    Transport Protocol: HTTP,
    Message Protocol: Soap 1.1,
    Adapter Engine: Central Adepter Engine,
    HTTPS with Client Authentication,

    Any ideas?
    Kind regards,
    John

    Hi Peter,
If memory serves we did not find a solution to this problem. I think, and a quick check of the configuration suggests I'm right, that we're handling the HTTPS connection on an IIS box and passing it through to a non encrypted HTTP sender on PI.
It may be that Soap UI is not configured correctly, however when I was getting the 'client certificate required', as mentioned in the original post, I'd confirmed that soap UI was correctly configured by connecting to an alternative Web Service. I also used Wireshark to see whether or not a certificate was being requested, or sent. It's invaluable if you're using Soap UI.
    All the best,
    John

    http://scn.sap.com/thread/3241568
As if now my third party system is not available while sending request I am getting 504 gateway error. is there any approach I can validate my request is working fine?
    Regards,

    Hi Abhay,
Correct me if I'm wrong but I think WSSE requires a SOAP Envelope. If that is the case, there are two approaches: the first one is to use SOAP Axis and the second one is just to build SOAP Envelope via Java mapping.
You also need to test it successfully externally, capture the request and replicate it in XI.
    Hope this helps,
    Mark
