Java in iOS for Xcode

So I have made a code in Java that I would like to turn in to an application. I have a little background withmaking applescript apps for mac, but is it even possible to make an iOS app using java? I know that mobile apple devices don't support java to begin with but can it be used for development? Please let me know if you have any recource guides or input.

Hi Dear,
As you already know, Apple does not support Java to create applications for iOS. In fact, the native language in both Mac OS X and iOS is Objective-C, although it is possible to use C, C++ and Objective-C++.
Cocoa is a suit of object-oriented libraries, tools and environment to create applications for Mac OS X. There is a lite version of Cocoa, named Cocoa Touch which is used in iOS. The foundations of both Cocoa and Cocoa Touch are the same. So if you learn to program for Mac, you can simply apply that knowledge to create iOS applications too.
Anyway, the first step in the road to become an iOS or Mac developer, is to be familiar with the operating system and it's technology layer. The best place to start is developer.apple.com. You can find all the tools and necessary knowledge there.
But remember that to become a good Objective-C programmer, requires you to be a good C programmer. Although Objective-C adds OOP features to C and applying OO design and techniques in Objective-C, may seems not to require advanced C programming, but this is not true. I highly recommend to learn C, although you can start to learn some starting materials in Mac/iOS programming.
Needles to say that C is the strongest, most common programming language, which is the basis for many modern programming languages used today, such as C#, Java, Objective-C, C++ and more.
My over 20 years experience in programming, says that the best way to learn a programming language, is reading books. For you to get started, I recommend a book which is designed with a new coming student in mind. These books are written as a text book and have serveral simple exercises to solve. There are many books like this on the market. The first book I have read on C programming, was Teach Yourself C, from Herbert Schildt. I am sure there are many good, and may be better titles out there, but you should know that Schildt is the author of the best selling programming titles in the world.
I am also an author and trainer, currently working on a web site to be an academic place for those interested in the C family of programming languages, specially C++, Objective-C and the C itself. I have also started to write a book to teach Objective-C a few days ago. It's actually at the start, but I am trying hard to finish it as soon as possible.
Just remember that programming for Apple devices and writing good quality code, is not possible without being a good C prgrammer in the first place. I am trying to bring my 2 decades experince to the web for those people like you.

Command line tools for xcode??

I am used to compiling code much like the java sdk works from terminal where I say javac the filename and then i get a .class file that i can run by doing the command java and then the .class file after. I am now wanting to learn c++ and I dont feel like installing xcode all i want is a compiler that can run from terminal. i found command line tools for xcode on the apple developers site and i was wondering do i need xcode for this to run and after that what the commands are and how i compile/run the code. But my biggest question is still wether or not i need xcode to let command line tools work. ive read in a couple places i dont need it but in other ive read you do can i get help?!

You don't need Xcode to compile your apps with; just the compiler/linker.
Xcode is Apple's IDE. One could write the same code in TextEdit but that wouldn't be easy nor fun.

Odata Netweaver Gateway for XCode Plugin

Where can the XCode Plugin for IOS development be downloaded from ?This is to consume the Odata Services generated from Netweaver Gateway?

I was actually referring to this document SAP NetWeaver Gateway 2.0 Developer Tool for Xcode
which has an installation link to download the plugin but eventully redirected to https://store.sap.com/sap/cp/ui/resources/store/html/SolutionDetails.html?pid=0000000359- GWPA an eclipse plugin.
Since this document i am referring is an old one , is there any work around for this now ?

Now, this isn't programme specific as it's affecting all our BI Publisher reports. Also the specific report I am working on has the option to email. I'm finding that the emails still work and when I open the attachment, they are displaying in PDF format correctly - even though the concurrent manager completes with the above warning. The above warning doesn't let me view the output in PDF from Oracle Financials.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It may be that the code in getString() returns a
String that ends with a newline. If that is the
problem, you can use
return (Integer.parseInt(st)).trim();1. getString will never return a String ending in newline. BufferedReader.readLine strips off the newline.
2. Even if you had a newline, String.trim doesn't trim newlines.
3. You would need to trim the String, not the int:

2. Tap on 'Edit' button placed at right side of top toolbar.
3. Tap on "folder icon with plus sign", it will ask you to enter the folder name.Enter desired folder name by which you want to create the folder.

Strangely, there isn't and end user license on Apple's site regarding iOS. But here's a look at the font agreement section from OS X Mountain Lion:
E. Fonts. Subject to the terms and conditions of this License, you may use the fonts included with the Apple Software to display and print content while running the Apple Software; however, you may only embed fonts in content if that is permitted by the embedding restrictions accompanying the font in question. These embedding restrictions can be found in the Font Book/Preview/Show Font Info panel.
So basically, you need to examine the fonts to see if there are notes on usage restrictions or limitations.

Java.lang.NumberFormatException: For input string: "500.01 Not to Exceed"

While running a BI Publisher 11g report i am getting this error
oracle.xdo.XDOException: java.lang.NumberFormatException: For input string: "500.01 Not to Exceed"
Any idea what could it be?
To me it looks like that its related to some datatype mismatch.
For some parameters report runs fine and for some it throws the above error.

i've installed the SCS and the Java Add-in for DB successful. While trying to install the java add-in for the central instance i get the following error:
An error occurred while processing service SAP NetWeaver 7.0 Support Release 3 > Software Life-Cycle Options > Java Add-In for ABAP > MaxDB > Central System > Central Instance Java Add-In ( Last error reported by the step :TypeError: instance has no properties (in script NW_Addin_CI|ind|ind|ind|ind, line 109346: ???)

Hi all, i'm new to Mac book & Xcode. I'm learning and facing problems while creating a new file for Xcode. Before i upgrade the software, i have no issue to create simple steps in apps. After upgrade Xcode to 4.6 version, i'm facing lot's of issue eg.
1) "the identity "iphone developer" doesn't match any valid certificate/ private key pair",
2) can't select the box "with XIB for user interface" if the subclass is "UIViewController"..

I am having difficulty updating the iOS for my 1st generation iPod touch. It is currently at 3.1.3. Can anybody tell me if this is possible?

A 1G iPod Touch cannot be upgraded past iOS 3.1.3. Sorry.
