Java in odi

hi ,
i have some questions
a) How can i use a third party jar file in kmodule?
b) How do i import java package in kmodule such as import java.util.*;
is there any documentation for this?
Thanks.........

Java BeanShell is a technology that you can choose at procedure step.
It allows you execute java programs and, the best of this way, is that you just need to write the code, ODI compile and execute it to you. It makes very easy the development and code changes.

    Good point - In my case, these are single executable statements. These have been saved in ODI and executed successfully. Just no using my machine.
    EXAMPLE 1------------
    DECLARE
    RetVal ;
    I_STRING VARCHAR2(200);
    BEGIN
    I_STRING := '';
    RetVal := XXX.PKG_XXX.SF_COMMA_TO_TABLE ( I_STRING );
    COMMIT;
    END;
    EXAMPLE 2------------
    SELECT C.COL1, B.COL2, B.COL3,TO_CHAR(B.EFFDT,'YYYY-MM-DD') COL4,B.COL5,B.COL6
    FROM TABLE1 A, TABLE2 B, TABLE3 C
    WHERE
    and A.ID = 'XXX'
    and a.setcntrlvalue = ' '
    AND A.NAME = 'XXX'
    AND A.EFFDT =
    (SELECT MAX(A_ED.EFFDT) FROM TABLE1 A_ED
    WHERE A.SETID = A_ED.SETID
    AND A_ED.EFFDT <= SYSDATE)
    AND B.EFFDT =
    (SELECT MAX(B_ED.EFFDT) FROM TABLE2 B_ED
    WHERE B.SETID = B_ED.SETID
    AND B.ACCOUNT = B_ED.ACCOUNT
    AND B_ED.EFFDT <= SYSDATE)
    AND A.SETID = B.SETID
    AND A.RANGE_FROM = A.RANGE_TO
    AND B.ACCOUNT = A.RANGE_FROM
    AND A.SETID = C.SETID
    AND A.TREE_NAME = C.TREE_NAME
    AND A.TREE_NODE_NUM = C.TREE_NODE_NUM
    AND C.EFFDT =
    (SELECT MAX(C_ED.EFFDT) FROM TABLE3 C_ED
    WHERE C.SETID = C_ED.SETID
    AND C_ED.EFFDT <= A.EFFDT)

    ODI 11g has a simulation mode available. When you execute a job, you can select "simulation mode" and that will generate the code and not execute it.
    You can then read the code to figure out whats happening

  • ODI 11g Weblogic agent test connection  in windows

    Hi,
    I have deployed the ODI console,Java EE agent and ODI sdk web services.Weblogic admin server link http://localhost:7001/console/login/LoginForm.jsp.
    The link for my ODI console looks like this :http://localhost:7001/odiconsole
    In my master repository i have just created Java EE agent in my master repository with weblogic context as:oraclediagent and port:7001 is WLS server port.
    Till now i have not created even single standalone agent.
    I took encoded password for my Java EE agent say JAVA_AGENT2 and modified in the odiparams file.
    i started the java agent and while testing the connection of this java agent i am getting following error.

  • Can I call an interface from java

    Dear All,
    Can I call an interface from java in ODI ?
    Best Regards
    Arc

    Short answer, Yes.
    Long answer - you must create a scenario from the interface (the scenario is the "executable" code), right-mouse-button on the interface in the tree and "Generate Scenario". This can then be called using the invocation api this is documented in your <installationdirectry>/oracledi/doc/sdk/invocation. This points you at all the necessary classes etc to use.

  • How to handle text files with Header lines

    Hi,
    Eventhough the number of header lines is specified, when I do Reverse to get columns, its considering only header line.
    I have file format like
    ffserver started.
    192.168.11.30 - - [Fri Apr 20 19:28:01 2007] "GET /robots.txt HTTP/1.1" 404 150
    192.168.11.30 - - [Fri Apr 20 19:28:02 2007] "GET /V23WASTINGPETROL HTTP/1.1" 200 310
    first line is header line and there are spaces within a field value, and the field separator also is space.
    regards,
    Vivek

    in this scenario of urs ,ur file has multiple delimiters like -- and spaces.
    in this case u need to convert the file in a file with single delimiter .
    this can be done by writing a code in java in ODI procedures.
    once you have the same delimiter all over the file.
    u can extract multiple headers using typical Procedure

  • Using variable in many steps in KM

    Hi
    I want to use Java Beans variable (<@=var1@>) in Java Code (ODI Tools).
    var1: file1|file2
    The code in the script should be:
    load file 1;
    load file2;
    statements:
    <% String [] tab = new String(<@=var1@>).split("[|]") %>
    <% for (int i=1; i < tab.length; i++) %>
    don't work because the variable var1 is replaced after the script is generated and I need to loop depending on the content of the variable.
    How can I achieve it?
    Thanks for help
    Marcin

    Using <?=var1?> didn't help.
    The problem is that var1 is filled from ODI Variable and this is replaced during the creation of the script

  • Abstract lobs increases with every call and not released

    Running on 11.2.0.2
    We're generating some xml web feeds for our website from relational data using SQL/XML operators. I fetch the xml into a PLSQL CLOB variable using XMLSERIALIZE, which i then return to my java application.
    Our site has seen a huge increase in activity and requests to our feeds, and our DBA is reporting we're running out of temp tablespace. We've increased temp tablespace, but he also mentioned that memory consumption is steadily increasing, eventually, DB instance needs to be bounced, otherwise it crashes.
    I've discovered that my block of code that builds and returns the xml is causing abstract lobs to increase, but never recedes.
    Re-reading the following from 11gr2 Large Objects guide:
    Temporary LOBs created in a program block as a result of a SELECT or an assignment are freed automatically at the end of the PL/SQL block or function or procedure. You must also free the temporary LOBs that were created with DBMS_LOB.CREATETEMPORARY to reclaim system resources and temporary tablespace. Do this by calling DBMS_LOB.FREETEMPORARY on the CLOB variable.
    Note:
    If the SQL statement returns a LOB or a LOB is an OUT parameter for a PL/SQL function or procedure, you must test if it is a temporary LOB, and if it is, then free it after you are done with it.
    Also learned the following (as of 10gr2)
    A new column named 'ABSTRACT_LOBS' has been added to the V$TEMPORARY_LOBS table. This column displays the number of abstract LOBs accumulated in the current session. Abstract LOBs are temporary lobs returned from queries involving XMLType columns.
    so my question is, is my java application responsible for freeing up the LOB? It seems freeing the lob in my PL/SQL function has no effect, since it returns the LOB to JAVA.

    Hi Odie,
    Calling it with an CallableStatement... packaged function returns a clob.
    My DBA is having trouble tracking down the temp lob usage in production it seems. And I question whether my little test case i did in our development environment is actually correct. I tested by calling my packaged function in a sql statement then selecting from v$temporary_lobs. that is where i was seeing abstract_lobs increasing.
    Not 100% sure this is what is happening though when calling from an CallableStatement in Java.
    That said, I have added some java code to check whether the CLOB returned from my function is temporary, and if so, I free it using the oracle.sql.CLOB implementation. The java code is logging that it is indeed a temporary lob and does free it. I can't confirm though whether this is impacting the temp lob count in the DB, since I believe v$temporary_lobs is based on current session.

  • Creating data server for Hyperion Shared Services (HSS)

    Hey Gang,
    Has anyone had experience in creating a Data Server for Hyperion Shared Services (HSS) using the java API? I know HSS uses Native Directory, but to be compliant the Hyperion folks recommend using the java API strictly to get access to the users, groups, etc.
    Anyone have experience with this, or perhaps at least how to get ODI to kick off a java file to pull the data needed? What effort would be needed in ODI, is it straight forward or would I have to develop a technology or something to integrate into ODI?
    Thanks.

    Thanks for the quick reply John. I am trying to get user and group information, and also doing some complex manipulation. I need this to verify user access and some other stuff. I will not always have access to HSS and cannot always export the information, thus the need to use the HSS java API.
    I'm trying to pull it out of HSS and put it into an Oracle table in a standard format where I'll use the information and do reporting off of it. I've developed a java class that does migrates the data over, but its crude and I'd like to move it into ODI with some of our projects that are currently doing the same thing with other ERP such as Ebiz and Peoplesoft.
    If I can recode some of the java in ODI, how would I go about doing that. Where would I include the libraries, etc.? is there a tutorial or a place where I can get started on that.
    Thanks for all the help.

  • OID Provisioning

    Hello all,
    HELP!
    I have got provisioning installed and configured, but i experience some troubles. The problem is the following:
    If I create a user in the OID using the ldapmodify command and assign a role using the ldapmodify command to that user, the provisioning event are send out properly (in other words the provisioning is working fine)
    But when I create a user using the OIDDAS and assign a role using the OIDDAS to that user, the provisioning hangs. The error message which I get is the following:

    Can anyone help me fix this problem?
    Thanks!!!

    [email protected]

    Mark,
    Yup. That's not working neither.
    I read some articles that when we didnt specify the configset. The integration service will automatically follows the provisioning profile we defined. So configset is not mandatory.
    Here are the steps I did:
    1.oidctl connect=<netservice_name> server=odisrv instance=1 flags="port=<ldapport>" stop
    2.odisrvreg -h <ldaphostname> -p <ldapport> -D cn=orcladmin -w <password>
    3.oidctl connect=<netservice_name> server=odisrv instance=1 flags="port=<ldapport>" start
    4.oidprovtool operation=create ldap_host=<ldaphostname> ldap_port=<ldapport> ldap_user_dn=cn=orcladmin ldap_user_password=<password> organization_dn="<identity_realm>" application_dn="orclApplicationCommonName=GroceryStoreApp,cn=GroceryStore,cn=Products,cn=OracleContext,<identity_realm>" interface_name=LDAP_NTFY interface_type=PLSQL interface_connect_info="<dbhostname>:<dbport>:<sid>:grocerystore:grocerystore" schedule=20 event_subscription="USER:<identity_realm>:ADD(uname)" event_subscription="USER:<identity_realm>:DELETE" event_subscription="GROUP:<identity_realm>:MODIFY(cn,uniquemember)"
    Step one is to stop any directory service instance.
    Step two then is to register integration service to directory service.
    Step three is to start the instance after registration.
    Step four is to create provision profile that listen to any changes in OID and call PLSQL in relational DB to reflect the changes.
    I think the problem is not at the oidctl. The oidctl log shows error in reading registration info (via step 2). Means that the registration to directory service was wrong. But I dont know where the mistakes took place.
    And I cant even unregister (reverse it back) it. When I executed step 2 above. The purpose was only for resetting the Directory Integration Service (DIS) password. It says already registered and updating the password.
    Any ideas?
    Regards
    Eric
