Getting exception in openDocument call to get object of type DocumentInstance. Snippet -

In the logs I can see correct value of 'document.getID()' for the corresponding document. However at the call - openDocument(document.getID()), exception -
Web Intelligence cannot perform the intended action on this document. (Error: WIS 30650)
Am I missing something in above code?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the reply Ted.
Iterating only through documents with parent ID as a specific ID (as in the 'query'). Currently in our environment, it returns 2 ID's (for 2 files as present in the infoview) and hence looping twice to get these 2 files.
To rule out the probability of checking on invalid document ID (under the call openDocument(docID) ), even tried hard-coding the document ID (to the value as seen in infoview). And still the error continues.
Can it be something related to configuration of BO server?

Exception happened when calling deliver API for BI Publisher Bursting

Hi All,
I have developed a BI Publisher report on OBIEE standalone instance (Oracle Business Intelligence 11.1.1.5.0).
I am able to generate the report and burst the output to emails successfully.
But when I tried to burst the output directly to the printer or to save the output FILEs to local machine, am getting the below error/exception.
For PRINT type...error is below

I´m getting this error on EM 10.2.0.2.0:

I tried for many times to recreate the repository but the error persists, at the homepage no metric are displayed, the wired thing is in the performance page all graphics works normally.
The os is linux:

I assume your signature is correct.
Signing the applet enables privileges (like file IO) whenever all the calls on the stack leading
to the sensitive operation (in your case fis = new FileInputStream("c://premji.rar")) originate
from the signed jar. It is not your case, as you come into the applet from javascript.
The solution is to use AccessController.doPrivileged...(). It was designed with this situation in mind.

The Messages i am getting i.e. "Session 1: Special character for 'empty field' is /" is one of the GUI information messages that the standard SAP uplaod program is popping.
i want to suppress these messages when calling them through an external system so that they can be called in background.
The standard program is using the batch input method.

For to test this scenario we use soapUI tool.

Did you check the page no 14 of the document which has the same problem - in problem analysis it has mentioned that check the URL as well as proxy setting of internet browser.
3) Try to create the ID objects manually (Sender Channel and Sender Agreement).....when we use the wizard a * gets introduced in the unfilled (unused) fields (party etc) ....however when manually created the unused fields are left blank.
4) Check if all the ID objects are available in SXI_CACHE.

Your problem is here:
«'java.util.List' which is not Serializable»
You're trying to deploy a remote bean. Local beans can work with a parameter that isn't serializable, because their access is made by reference (pointers). But for remote beans, the whole object must be serialized and send over the network to be received by the client. Thus, the java.util.List can't be serialised, so WL complains.
You must choose a container that can be serialized like java.util.ArrayList, a LinkedList or a vector in case of lists, or use local beans. Anyway, I think serialised objects should always be used with bean functions parameters.

How to prevent java.io.exception when someone enters a bogus page in theURL

Say i have a page called Test.jsp. The user goes to it and everything is fine. If the user happens to play with the url and changes it to Tes.jsp, i get java.io.exception. Is there anyway to catch this?

Most JSP servers have a configuration option to serve
up an error page in situations like this. Yours
probably does too.Once you find that, make it your error page with a page directive of isErrorPage="true". Then you have access to the implicit exception variable name to determine if it is really a 404 exception.

Do any of you guys know where can I find a theorical statement / explanation about why use particular / customized exceptions instead java.lang.Exception? I am aware that it consumes more resources and becomes a heavier object, as well as the clearness when coding and all that stuff; however, my boss wants to see a tech document where all this is clearly stated. It is better to throw specific--or at least module- or
package-specific--excpetions, rather than Exception,
because then the caller knows what to expect. However,
if you declare "throws Exception", the caller can
still catch IOException, SQLException, etc.,
separately. He'll just have to be a really good
guesser as to which ones he should catch.True.
Also, there's no point in declaring "throws
NullPointerException." Any method can throw it without
declaring it. If you generate your own NPE (or other
unchecked exception) inside the method, then you
should document it in the javadoc comments, but you
don't need to put it in the throws clause. It doesn't
do any harm, but it's redundant and cluttersome.It was an example and I wasn't feeling too creative....excuse me. ;-) But yeah, I've never thrown NPE ever.

The front end behaves fine though but that error in the console is bugging me.

Well, have you run the app with logging set to fine as the message suggested?
Turn on fine level logging for a stack trace of this call. Component ID: {0}
Then a test case and a detailed description on how to reproduce the error, built on the hr schema, can help.
