Java.io.IOException: failed to connectTCP open

Hello all,
I am newcomer to J2ME. I am facing following problem.
I am using mmapi. While calling method Manager.createPlayer(String url)
following exception occurs:
java.io.IOException: failed to connectTCP open

at com.sun.mmedia.protocol.BasicDS.connect(+12)

at example.audiodemo.PlayerCanvas.createPlayer(+86)

I have specified url as http://localhost:7001/startup.wav
This link executes fine in browser.
Please help.
Thanks and Regards,
Pramod

The bug you linked to says it has to do with a shared directory that has spaces in its path. The code you posted has no spaces in the path. That does not sound like the same problem to me.

  • Java.io.IOException: Failed to rename log file on attempt to rotate logs

    Hello.
    I'm currently using Weblogic 5.1 SP6 on WinNT Server 4.0 SP6.
    I set the weblogic.properties file like this so that the "access.log" will
    be rotated every day at midnight.
    -- weblogic.properties --
    weblogic.httpd.enableLogFile=true
    weblogic.httpd.logFileName=D:/WLSlog/access.log
    weblogic.httpd.logFileFlushSecs=60
    weblogic.httpd.logRotationType=date
    weblogic.httpd.logRotationPeriodMins=1440
    weblogic.httpd.logRotationBeginTime=11-01-2000-00:00:00
    -- weblogic.properties <end>--
    The rotation has been working well, but one day when I checked my
    weblogic.log, I was getting some errors.
    I found out that my "access.log" wasn't being rotated (nor being written,
    flushed) after this error came out.
    After rebooting WebLogic, this problem went away.
    Has anyone clues about why WebLogic failed to "rename log file?"

    I'm also getting this error on Weblogic 6.1.1.
    It only occurs if you set the format to "extended".
    Is there any fix or workaround for this?

    Please help me to resolve this issue.
    Thanks,

    Hari,
    If it is multi user environment then ask all users to close their sessions using change center. If it is a single user environment then please rename the sessions folder (D:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\base_domain\osb\config\sessions\ALSB_IDE_Internal_PublishOp_1345525-4159) and restart all the servers. It should solve the problem.
    Also check whether the OS user who started the servers, has full access to the complete domain folder and permission to create directories/files into the domain folder and it's subfolders.
    Regards,
    Anuj

    You were using the ReflectionPofSerializer coded by Alexey.   If you are pretty sure that the object you retrieved was stored using the same serializer, might want to contact Alexey to see if he can help you out.

    The applet is in the same directory as the ASP. It is a NT 4 (SP6) server. The applets loaded and ran fine with jdk1.3. Do I need to do something different in my ASP, or IIS setup to allow java applet HTTP connection in JDK1.4?
    Thanks!

    I have the exact same problem but have yet to find a solution.
    It works fine in 1.3 but fails occasionally in 1.4. If I refresh the browser several times it eventually
    loads.

    For my windows XP solution. Basically the cwallet.sso file was not controllable via the XP user I was logged in as. Added the XP user to have full access to the file
    Here are the steps in quickie mode
    1.Log on to the computer with an account that has administrative credentials. If you are running Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition, you must start the computer in safe mode, and then log on with an account that has Administrative rights to have access to the Security tab.
    2.If you are using Windows XP Professional, you must disable Simple File Sharing.
    3.Right-click the folder/file that you want to take ownership of, and then click Properties.
    4.Click the Security tab, and then click OK on the Security message (if one appears).
    5.Click Advanced, and then click the Owner tab.
    6.In the Name list, click your user name, or click Administrator if you are logged in as Administrator, or click the Administrators group. If you want to take ownership of the contents of that folder, select the Replace owner on subcontainers and objects check box.
    7.Click OK, and then click Yes when you receive the following message:
    You do not have permission to read the contents of directory folderName. Do you want to replace the directory permissions with permissions granting you Full Control?
    All permissions will be replaced if you press Yes.
    8.Click OK, and then reapply the permissions and security settings that you want for the folder and its contents.

    I can not know the cause.That applet element combined with the address would imply the JRE was (first) looking for the applet at..

    Hello Djam,
    Please review the following:
    The FMW WebLogic Server (WLS) installation has been configured to use a non-default Java temporary files directory,
    i.e. the following has been set in the WebLogic startup or setDomainEnv.sh script:
    EXTRA_JAVA_PROPERTIES="-Djava.io.tmpdir=/appl/oracle/temp_java_files ${EXTRA_JAVA_PROPERTIES}"
    Reference: How to Change the WebLogic Server Location for Temporary Files (Doc ID 1336002.1)
    When the Middleware home was restored the directory specified by java.io.tmpdir parameter was missing,
    Therefore an IOException occurred when opening the wallet and WLS was unable to initialize the OPSS successfully.
    To resolve the issue re-create the directory specified by the java.io.tmp dir parameter, and make sure the owner and group access are the same as for the FMW installation.
    Unable Start AdminServer: JPS-01050: Opening of wallet based credential store failed. Reason java.io.IOException (Doc ID 1923395.1)

  • Java.io.IOException when opening a 10g WebForm

    I get the following Java error in the Java Console after opening a simple Form from the start Form (note that i have scrambled part of the url):
    Loading http://xx-xxx-ux:7777/forms/java/frmall_jinit.jar from JAR cache
    Loading http://xx-xxx-ux:7777/forms/java/frmwebutil.jar.sig from JAR cache
    Loading http://xx-xxx-ux:7777/forms/java/jacob.jar.sig from JAR cache
    proxyHost=null
    proxyPort=0
    connectMode=HTTP, native.
    Versie van Forms-applet is: 10.1.2.0
    java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: java.io.IOException: open HTTP connection failed.

         at sun.applet.AppletClassLoader$1.run(Unknown Source)
         at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method)
    The think two entries are strange in this log:
    1) both the start-form and the second form DO NOT use webutil. The webutil object-group has not been copied/subclassed in these forms. Still the webutil jar-file (and Jacob jar-file) are downloaded. I thought this only happened when a form used the webutil object-group and hence the Java beans.
    These jar-files are part of the archive-parameter in formwseb.cfg as there are two forms in a second application that do use the webutil pl/sql library and jar-files. Webutil works correct in this second application.
    2) the Java error. As no Java functionality is used from these Forms i did not expect this error-message. The Forms do not raise any errors (no Ora-, Frm- nor WUC-errors) at all. The Webutil-log file is also empty.
    I searched for the string "java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: java.io.IOException: open HTTP connection failed" in this forum and tried different suggestions and tips. But without result.
    Any suggestions for my problem??? Thanks!
    p.s. we use Forms 10g 10.1.2.0 and Oracle Application Server 10g on a Red Hat Linux server. Further info: Webutil 1.0.6 and Jacob 1.8.

    additional info:
    - the jar-files are downloaded on the client in the folder "c:\Documents and Settings\[user]\Oracle Jar Cache\"
    - we use JInitiator 1.3.1.22
    We also added LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.4.19 to [application].env (see java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: java.io.IOException

  • Getting java.io.IOException: Too many open files+ClassNotFoundException

    Dear All
    We have a web application deployed on Rational Application Developer 6.0 (Operating System is Windows 2000 professional) our users are randomly getting java.io.IOException: Too many open files+ClassNotFoundException when they click on some servlet or jsp link, but they are getting this error randomly for example when they click some link they may get these exceptions but refreshing page or clicking once again on same link executes servlet successfully.If anyone could help on this topic we will be grateful
    Thanks

    I think this these two exceptions are occuring in differrent environment
    java.io.IOException is occuring under heavy load to web server its stack trace is as follows:

    ]: com.ibm.ws.jsp.JspCoreException: JSPG0049E: /Admin/AdminInsuranceCertificates.jsp failed to compile :
    this error always occurs in reference to logindetails class this clas is used to make a session check on different roles in our project for e.g., user having end user role should not be able to log in as a user having admin role
    we have included a sessioncheck.jsp in our every jsp page in this jsp we have simply used logindetails class as useBean and called its getresource() method
    above stacktrace is from our live application server

    Also one more point we are not using web.xml for calling servlets we are directly calling it giving its full path.

    I have written a servlet to download a tar file.
    The Servlet takes the parameters and create a tar file based on the parameters and then opens the file for download for the user. I am able to download the tar file and the contents of the tar file is ok. But when I write the content to the OutputStream I getting an IOException

    }Any help would be appreciated.

    What are you using as your test client?The test client is WebStone 1.0. WebStone always downloads the whole response, and reports the size of the response in bytes. From this I can see that when the IO exception occurs, webstone is unable to read the whole response, as it reports a smaller size.
    So, I do not think the problem is that the client has prematurely aborted its download. WebStone doesn't work that way. I think something has gone awry on the server side, and this worries me.
