JAVA IOException uncatched

Hi, I'm using Java.nio channels and when one client was forced to disconnect to my host, my host launch that exception:
java.io.IOException: Se ha forzado la interrupción de una conexión existente por el host remoto
     at sun.nio.ch.SocketDispatcher.read0(Native Method)
     at sun.nio.ch.SocketDispatcher.read(Unknown Source)
     at sun.nio.ch.IOUtil.readIntoNativeBuffer(Unknown Source)
     at sun.nio.ch.IOUtil.read(Unknown Source)
     at sun.nio.ch.SocketChannelImpl.read(Unknown Source)
The Code is this:
if (key.isReadable()) {
                                   SocketChannel client = (SocketChannel) key
                                             .channel();
                                   // Create buffer to read
                                   int BUFFER_SIZE = 2000;
                                   ByteBuffer buffer = ByteBuffer
                                             .allocate(BUFFER_SIZE);
                                        byte[] aReceivedByteArray = new byte[2000];
                                             ByteBuffer.wrap(aReceivedByteArray);
                                        try{
                                        client.read(buffer);+*
                                        catch (IOException e){
                                             System.out.println("I'ts disconnected");
                                             client.close();
                                             e.printStackTrace();
                                             continue;
I don't know why the catch statement is not catching that exception.
I've tryed to move the try/catch statements to some other lines, but always the IOexception is lunched.
Can somebody help me how to solve that problem?
thanks.
/Genís.
P.D. I think I have post in a wrong part of the forum, sorry for that.

Problem solved, was just commenting one line :
//e.printStackTrace();
If you are suggesting that commenting out that line fixed the problem then you are incorrect.Given what the IOException's message was, the exception is normal behavior when a connection is closed (which is what the OP said caused the exception). The OP might be right that he doesn't need the stack trace in this situation.

    You didn't post the exception.
    It is probably caused by the JDOM JAR or classes not being available or an
    IO error reading them (e.g. permissions issue on Unix).

  • RealPlayer says I Need to Open a Port For Chat to Work, Am I doing it Right

    I have live feeds for CBS's Big Brother. I'm trying to get on their Chat and I get a Java IOException error, cannot connect to server, etc.
    RealPlayer is insisting I have to open port 21 and/or 6667 in my router (AEBS).
    I entered 21, 6667 in all 4 port fields. Under Private IP address, I put my computer's number. Under "service". I didn't touch that.
    Am I doing this right? Cuz it's still not working for me. I know other Leopard users are able to get into this chat and I think it has something to do with my AEBS. I even loaded the developer version of the latest Java to no avail.
    Suggestions?

    Your firewall is off. That's good for now. Make sure that you Enable NAT Port Mapping Protocol in Internet/Internet Connections/NAT tab. Also, do you have a static IP on your machine? Or are you getting your IP via DHCP. This info is in the OS System preferences/Network/Advanced? tab. Then click on the TCP/IP settings.To get the ports forwarded correctly you'll need to set a static IP (manual) on your machine. But you'd think in all their wisdom that Real would have NAT enabled chat. Meaning, you should get out with DHCP and NAT enabled. No forwards needed.
    Setting a static IP on your machine is relatively easy but affects other things on your network and you have to do a bit of planning to set it up.
    In a nutshell:
    Set up an IP address on your machine outside the scope of IP's being distributed by your router.
    Map a port that resolves to that specific port.
    I think you did it right above but didn't possibly have a static ip to resolve to.
    Hopefully I am not confusing you with all this.

    Hi,
    We have an installer script that deploys an ear file to a weblogic managed server. The script also invokes the build-tin wlst ant task to bounce the managed server. However, in version 10.3.1 the wlst task seems to be broken. I get this error:

    Well, it looks like passing something like "-Djava.io.tmpdir=/var/tmp/javatmp/`date +%Y%m%d`" to ant did the trick. I had to make sure that directory existed first, otherwise it threw a java ioexception.
    I still don't understand what changes between 10.3.0 and 10.3.1 to necessitate this change.

  • EnvironmentFailureException question

    Hi,
    I'm relatively new to BDB... I've (part-)written a distributed crawler which uses BDB to store a persistent on-disk queue of URIs. This is the setup.
    +/* Open a transactional Berkeley DB engine environment. */+
    EnvironmentConfig envConfig = new EnvironmentConfig();
    envConfig.setAllowCreate(true);
    envConfig.setTransactional(true);
    _env = new Environment(envDir, envConfig);+
    +/* Open a transactional entity store. */+
    StoreConfig storeConfig = new StoreConfig();
    storeConfig.setAllowCreate(true);
    storeConfig.setTransactional(true);
    store = new EntityStore(env, this.getClass().getSimpleName(), storeConfig);+
    +/* Primary index of the queue */+
    urlIndex = store.getPrimaryIndex(String.class, URLObject.class);+
    +/* Secondary index of the queue */+
    countIndex = store.getSecondaryIndex(_urlIndex, Integer.class, "count");+
    The machine is running Java 1.6.0_12 on Debian 5.0.4. The environment directory is on a local partition (in fact, everything is pretty much local as far as BDB can see).
    This setup seems to work quite well. However, after about 30 hours or crawling one server (of eight) dies with the initial exception:

    I'm generally at a loss as to why this happened. There's no obvious cause (such as no disk space, etc.) and it seems more-so that the index is corrupted. At the time of the exception, there is 1.5GB in the environment directory (~150 x 9.6M *.jdb files).
    I cannot really reproduce the error/create a test-case, so I don't know if updating JE would help -- I'd like to have as much information on the bug as possible, and have implemented as sure a fix as possible before I try restarting the crawl.
    Any help/thoughts greatly appreciated.

    Aidan,
    From the error message and the je.info logging you showed us, the complaint seems to be about the file /data/webdb/may10/crawl/q/00000997.jdb. But unfortunately, the Java IOException is not telling you much.
    What's happened is that our daemon thread, the log cleaner, was going along, and it hit an IOException when reading that file. We just wrap the IOException, and send it back to up, and in this case, the exception is particularly uninformative ("Input/output exception"). Since we toString the exception, I think there's really not any more message. We've noticed that JDKs on different platforms can have more or less informative IOExceptions -- perhaps what's available underneath?
    The string "LOG_READ: IOException on read, log is likely invalid. Environment is invalid and must be closed." is a wrapper from JE, and is potentially a bit alarmist. We take the conservative approach that if anything unexpected goes wrong with a read, we don't want to return bad data, and we shut down the whole environment. Other threads will note the invalidation of the environment and will also shut down. Tthough it can certainly always be a JE bug, in this case, it seems more like some kind of underlying and transient system issue.
    JE does detect when it is able to do a read and it thinks the data is bad. In that case, you get an checksum exception. This is different, in that something killed off the read operation itself. Could something have sent an interrupt to the process? Though in those cases, we usually see an InterruptedException.
    One thing you can do is to use the com.sleepycat.je.util.DbPrintLog utility to just read the afflicted file. Despite the JE suggestion of an invalid environment, in this case, it smells a little more like a transient platform I/O problem. You could do "java -jar je.jar DbPrintLog -h /data/webdb/may10/crawl/q -s 0x997 > temp.xml" and see if that file can be read. If it is successful, the utility will dump the contents of the log and you'll see a complete xml file, with no exception at the end. If it can, it would reinforce the likelihood that some transient IO incident occurred, and you may well be able to restart the environment with no problem.
    Hope that give you a start,
    Linda

    When I access eLOM directly from company network without ssh tunnel, all works fine, so it is not my local system's setup or JVM issue.

  • ChaRM class java.io.IOException:The file does not exist on the filesystem

    Hi All,
    We are implementing ChaRM with Portal. While deploying we are running into following issue.
      Deployable-Id:/usr/sap/trans/data/GPSK90001B/sktp14_20100806_095633.epa
      Returncode:'12'
      class java.io.IOException:The file (/usr/sap/trans/data/GPSK90001B/sktp14_20100806_095633.epa) does not exist on the filesystem.
    Any suggestion.
    Regards,
    Smita

    We resolved this issue by sharing the trans file across SolMan and Portal system.

  • Error while trying to create a Solr collection (java.io.IOException: The device is not ready)

    Hello, everyone.
    I'm trying to create a .cfm document that will erase a specific Solr collection and then re-create it, index it, and optimize it.
    The delete works flawlessly.
    Unfortunately, creating it isn't working, at all.  I get the following message:
    Unable to create collection publicsearch - An error occurred while creating the collection: java.io.IOException: The device is not ready.
    This is a Windows 7 server running Apache and CFServer 9.0.1 (the version before Verity was cut.)  I'm not getting any more details than the one error message.  Any idea of what could be causing this?  I've Googled this and I'm seeing a lot of issues similar, but not quite what I have happening.
    Thanks,
    ^_^

    Nevermind.. no one bothered to inform the developer that the path to the collection AND the path to the directory that the collection is for are different on this other server.
    Fixed.

    This is JDeveloper 10.1.3.5.0 from patch p19170592_R12_GENERIC.zip
    The OAF release is 12.2.4
    JDEV_USER_HOME is set to C:\Olivier\R12\jdev1224\jdevhome\jdev
    The .dbc file looks fine.
    I connect successfully to database.
    I tried to reinstall JDeveloper.
    I performed many searches on MOS, OTN, Google, etc...
    I tried to change the Startup Settings (Host Name, IP Address settings) of the Embedded OC4J Server Preferences.
    I am stuck.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Olivier

    Hi Peddi,
    Thanks for your reply.
    I checked again the .dbc file.
    I downloaded again the file from $INST_TOP/appl/fnd/12.0.0/secure to <JDEV_USER_HOME>\dbc_files\secure
    This file worked fine for JDeveloper for 12.2.3.
    I went again through "Oracle Application Framework Developer's Guide Release 12.2.4 July 2014" but could not find any part related to .dbc file having changed from previous release.
    I tried to comment out the parameter APPS_JDBC_URL in .dbc as per MOS note "Troubleshooting JDeveloper setup for Oracle Applications (Doc ID 357218.1)"
    But I still face the issue.
    According to the note "Configuring JDeveloper For Use With Oracle Applications 11i and R12 (Doc ID 330236.1)", I have added the following debug parameters in the project properties:
    -Djbo.debugoutput=console -Djbo.logging.trace.threshold=9 -Djbo.jdbc.driver.verbose=true -Djbo.jdbc.trace=true
    It generated the following OC4J server detailed log showing more error messages (in red below):
