Java Jobs

I learning java and I just want to know what java jobs are in demand, what type of java programming would most likely get me a job.

You may still be able to pick up a bit of legacyJava
work here and there, but these days, without .NET
you're gonna struggle.I find this very hard to believe....legacy java? I
don't think so.I agree that it is hard to believe, even Apple have a new native API that java programmers can plug into, as it has seen Java is in so much demand and would like people to use their computers, or at least program for them. The name of this is Cocoa, and no I am not an Apple buff :)

  • Error while Scheduling Java Jobs - IDM

    Hi
    I am getting the below error when I try to schedule a Java Job for every hour or every minute. However the same job runs perfectly fine when I put in On Demand and run it manually. I even tried with the Dummy Job and it spits the same error. Below is the error that I found in the error log.
    Error setting schedule time: Too many nested levels
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    I think you have session count problem, you can change your http sessions count and if you have a db system db session count. In additional check your java code do you close the sessions in  java?
    Best regards.

  • Java Job not working

    We have a java job that sends an XML to remote URL by opening OutputStreamWriter to URL and receives the response XML from same URL using InputStreamWriter.
    This Job is working fine, when running on Solaris Env. Now we have new server installed on Red Hat Linux. This job is not working on this new environment.
    Error i am getting is as below:
    <message>XML Parse Error</message>

    I Dont see any issue with code as it is still working fine from server installed on Solaris. Pls help

    If Remote URL have received XML Successfully, then it creates some entries in its Database. But its not doing so. So i guess it is not even able to send the XML Successfully. And Since URL is not getting proper desired XML input so its returning error XML output.
    But i am wondering same code is running smooth on Solaris Env.
    Remote URL is part of 3rd party tool. so we even dont have much access on it so that we can determine what is received at their end, when we send an XML from our side.

  • BI Scheduler Java Jobs not working with 11.1.1.6

    Hello,
    I wrote a scheduler java job following the documentation found here
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E14571_01/bi.1111/e10541/schedjavajob.htm#CJHCFIID
    It worked fine on OBIEE 11.1.1.3 and 11.1.1.5 but now i made a fresh installation of OBIEE 11.1.1.6.0 and it does't work anymore.
    When i try to run the job from job manager the nqscheduler.exe process starts taking 50% of CPU and nothing happens
    The steps i made after installing OBIEE are:
    1. copy the jar file in ORACLE_HOME\bifoundation\javahost\lib
    2. edit JavaHost configuration file
    <Scheduler>
    <Enabled>True</Enabled> <DefaultUserJarFilePath>E:\<ORACLE_HOME>\bifoundation\javahost\lib</DefaultUserJarFilePath>
    </Scheduler>
    Thanks in Advance,
    Jonni

    thanx this is the solution. With this construct
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" xmlns:java="http://xml.apache.org/xalan/java" exclude-result-prefixes="java">
         <xsl:output method="html" indent="yes" encoding="iso-8859-1"/>
         <xsl:template match="/">
         <xsl:variable name="counter" select="java:java.util.Vector.new()"/>
         <xsl:variable name="temp1" select="java:add($counter,'1')"/>
         <xsl:variable name="temp2" select="java:add($counter,'2')"/>
         <xsl:variable name="temp3" select="java:add($counter,'3')"/>
         <xsl:variable name="temp4" select="$temp3"/>
         <xsl:value-of select="java:size($counter)"/>
         <xsl:value-of select="java:toString($counter)"/>
         </xsl:template>
    </xsl:stylesheet>
    at least the '3' is added to the vector.

  • Scheduled java job seems not to be started

    Hello,
    relying on the Composition Environment CE 7.1.1 SP2 I have created a custom Java job according to this tutorial: https://cw.sdn.sap.com/cw/docs/DOC-102724
    I have succesfully deployed my job and scheduled a task to execute the job every hour. However, the job does not seem to be started at all. I cannot find any clue that the task has been executed.
    What can I do about this?
    Kind regards

  • Getting that first java job

    Could anyone give some tips for going from graduate (BSc Comp Sci) to getting first java job? A lot of employeers want 'experience' but when you've just graduated you've only ever worked on uni assignments and not industrial ones. How do you crack this?
    Does certification impress anyone other than recruitment consultants?
    Is it a good idea to put together online portfolio of all work you've done?
    thanks

    Don't stare blindly at those numbers. Everyone says "experience preferred" and they mean it. Expect to have to take a lower starting salary than the stated one and don't write on jobs asking for more than a few years experience as those will be way over your head most likely.
    Otherwise, persevere or move to India (they seem to hire anyone who can spell the word 'computer' there).
    Does certification impress anyone other than
    recruitment consultants?
    Depends on the certification but in general yes.
    It impresses not the recruitment consultants but the non-technical people they're selling you to.
    Anyone with a grain of knowledge about certs will know that most if not all are completely useless without practical experience to back them up (and some worse than useless, think MCSE NT4 which was a disaster).
    Is it a good idea to put together online portfolio of
    all work you've done?
    Can't hurt, if it's relevant. I'd not put in time spent making levels for Doom unless you're trying for the games industry though (just an example).
    thanks

  • Java jobs in the UK

    Hope this isn't too far off topic, if it is, my apologies.
    I was wondering if anyone had any advice on the java job market in the UK.
    Most importantly, are there any specialist agencies and/or websites I should look into.
    Also, are there any hints or tips you would give to a graduate looking into this industry?
    cheers,
    ciaron.

    the java job market is pretty bouyant at the moment. I just got laid off, and it took me 9 days to get a firm offer on the table that I wanted, and that was including me being very fussy about what jobs I applied for. Barclays bank are looking for java developers at the moment, apparently. could do worse than apply to them
    I got my last two positions through www.jobsite.co.uk, just get a decent CV drawn up and sit back
    there's an abundance of specialist agencies around, but the majority of them seem to trawl jobsite and cwjobs so they tend to find you. avoid monster, they seem to have a very rudimentary buzzword-matching algorithm and little else. a complete waste of time IMHO, although as a graduate you probably won't be nearly as fussy as someone with a few years experience

  • How to Trigger CAF web services from java Job schedulers?

    Hi Experts,
    I am in need of calling CAF based web services from custom Job scheduler.
    Could you please provide your idea and input if anyway we can call such web service by java api in custom jobs development?
    Thing is that we have CAF BO which hold around 1 million record (master data) and based on approval scenario (developed in WDJ apps) we will have to move this record to another business object for further manipulation?
    Hence due to huge number of record in BO, I would like to automate this activity by calling Jobs from WDJ apps and then Job will trigger the CAF web service which would create record into the BO object.
    Please share your idea and let me if it can be achievable by java apis to trigger Jobs by WDJ apps & webservice by jobs?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Pankaj

    any sax parsers?What version of Java are you using? With Java 1.4 the XML parser is included in the SDK / JRE.
    If you're using an older version of Java, go to http://xml.apache.org and get the Xerces parser.

  • Your first Java job?

    Anyone care to describe their first job where the were able to use and apply Java technology? Did you come from a prior programming background? How did you like it?
    I'm trying to gather some info so I have some idea what the Java market is like out there.

    Well, back in 95/96 I was working (as a C++ guy) on the third generation of an Object Oriented 4GL for a well known database company...
    Neat product. Crappy widget set and released the same days as Borland Delphi - but apart from that it had everything going for it ;)
    Then, some jokers from just around the corner (we were based in Palo Alto in those days) came up with this new-fangled Java nonsense and we said sh***************t! The game was, most definitely, up.
    Unphased, we bungled on and got hold of the JDK. Played around a bit and decided that we could modify our product to generate Java instead of C with SQL embedded in it. So we did. I think we sold it to oh, must be at least two companies, but I heard one of them paid for it by mistake ;)
    As luck would have it, the internet was about to boom so I got a contract with Cisco and spent three years designing and developing a network provisioning system - in Java, of course.
    Been at it ever since. Mostly for Investment banks, though I still do some networking stuff.
    However, to answer your question about the Java market; from a contractors perspective, it's hosed. But then the whole IT market is.
    I'm currently doing two contracts at the same time and still (just) manage to earn less than I did 18 months ago working on one. Go figure.

  • How to schedule a java job?

    Hi, all.
        My server is nw 7.0.  Now I want to make a java app and schedult it to execute every 10 minutes.
        How can I do this?
    Thx

    Hi Louis
    In this version this code don't work. This work in version 5 or higher.
    I think you need to use the traditional method of Thread in java 1.4.
    Try to see somethink about class Timer of java:

  • Java Scheduler:  Jobs

    Hi,
    I have been tasked with looking into some alerts coming from a clients SolMan regarding some "Java Jobs" running on a Netweaver portal.
    I have never worked on a Java only system before.  And I'm struggling!
    Under Opereations > Jobs > Java Scheduler there are two reoccurring jobs running:
    BPMMailReaderJob
    GalaxyTimerJob
    Frankly, I have no idea what either of these jobs do.   The BPM job ends with return code 0.  However the other job ends with return code 24.
    I cannot for the life in me find what return code 24 is.   And am i even looking in the right place?!
    Sorry to be a newbie!
    If anyone can spare two minutes to offer some pointers I'd be grateful.
    Thanks

    Hello there,
    One of the option which comes to my mind to debug is to use System.out.println. These output will go to defaultrace and you can see all details of the current execution.
    The best approach will be to user a proper SAP logger and put debug statements to the log file.

  • Passing Job ID, Job instance from Agent to EJB-based action in OBIEE 11g?

    We would like to ZIP compress Agent-scheduled report output, according to documentation using "Java Jobs" is an option but not recommended in 11g (only upgraded from 10g). Instead EJB-based java actions should be used.
    Documentation has explanation of EJB-based Java action, however there's a problem when an Agent invokes the EJB-based action how can it pass out Job ID and Instance ID, etc so the custom action can refer to the related job information? When using "Java job" approach it offers public interfaces to do so. In EJB-based action there seems no information provided, the example in the documentation only demonstrates user to enter parameter values manually without any way to pass out parameter from the invoker (e.g. an Agent).
    In this case, is there any public interface or any other way that an Agent can pass out Job ID related values when invoking an Java method? This seems also true for other actions like invoking web services, HTTP service, etc that no Job parameter can be passed out.
    Thanks.
