Has anyone experinced same behaviour?
What service pack of 6.0 server are you using? What is the JDK version? Try running the VM in server mode. Here's the docs to run JVM in server mode:
http://docs.sun.com/source/816-6770-10/rn60sp6.html#1017482
Hope it helps.
Thanks,
Manish

Crystal Reports XI and Sun One 6.1 web server SP 5 Error finding JNDI name
I am trying to create a Crystal Reports XI report in a JSP using Sun One 6.1 Web server sp 5.
At this point I am getting the error Error finding JNDI name on Sun One
The application will run on Netbeans/Tomcat
I have done the following:
I edited CRConfig.xml
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<CrystalReportEngine-configuration>

<DataDriverCommon>
<JavaDir>C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_10\bin</JavaDir>

<JDBC>
<CacheRowSetSize>100</CacheRowSetSize>
<JDBCURL>jdbc:oracle:thin:@10.10.10.10:1521:dev</JDBCURL>
<JDBCClassName>oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver</JDBCClassName>
<JDBCUserName>lab_ro</JDBCUserName>
<JNDIURL></JNDIURL>

</JDBC>
I created a report using JDBC (JNDI) connection and have the JNDI Connection set to the name of DATA.
The report works just fine in Crystal Reports.
Then in Netbeans I created an application and it runs in the Tomcat part of Netbeans
In context.xml I have:
<Context path="/BOEnterpriseTest3">
<Resource name="jdbc/dev" auth="Container" type="javax.sql.DataSource"
driverClassName="oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver" url="jdbc:oracle:thin:@10.10.10.10:1521:dev"
username="theuserid" password="thepassword" maxActive="20" maxIdle="10" maxWait="-1"/>
</Context>
In web.xml I have
<web-app>
<context-param>
<param-name>crystal_image_uri</param-name>
<param-value>crystalreportviewers11</param-value>
</context-param>

<taglib>

<resource-ref>
<res-ref-name>jdbc/dev10g</res-ref-name>
<jndi-name>Data</jndi-name>
</resource-ref>
</sun-web-app>
I have copied all of Common Files\Business Objects\3.0\java\lib and Common Files\Business Objects\3.0\java\lib\external to the lib folder
I have copied crystalreportviewers11 to the root of my web application
I have tried to load the JNDI information and display the report

I get the error finding JNDI name how do I tell Sun One where the JNDI is to make Crystal Reports work?I tried the following to test the JNDI
I am trying to do JNDI in Sun One Web server 6.1 sp 5 but I seem to be missing an important part. I get two different errors based on the JSP code, Cannot retrieve data source: javax.naming.NamingException: Cannot create resource instance or Cannot retrieve data source: javax.naming.NamingException: Cannot create resource instance.

"java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: error
Hi
I am getting this error on running my application. Please suggest somethin. It's really urgent.
"java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com.tangosol.coherence.component.util.daemon.queueProcessor.service.DistributedCache"Hi,
It look like your classpath is not configured properly.
Depending on the Coherence version you use, you need to ensure that you have either coherence.jar (3.4) or both coherence.jar and tangosol.jar (3.3 or earlier) in a classpath.
Not sure if this will be helpful or not, but it's hard to provide more help without knowing more about your environment, as Rob mentioned.

Can't Run Java Programs -- java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError Error
I am running 10.4.11. For some reason I can no longer run Java programs. (I could in the past)
For example. I create a simple Hello World program as follows and save it as Hello.java:
class HelloWorld
public static void main (String args[])
System.out.println("Hello, world!");
Then I compile it:
Javac Hello.java
Then I try to run it:
java Hello
But I get this error:
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Hello
I think it must be a CLASSPATH problem but normally you do not need to worry about ClassPATH. Apple sets it up for you out of the box.
What is wrong?I totally forgot that the class name should be the same as the filename.
After I renamed the file to HelloWorld.java and recompiled, I could run "java HelloWorld"

A working application suddenly caused java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError
I have a web application running on a resin server. Everything in my application worked fine at the beginning but suddenly I got java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError. I looked at the line number of the exception and found out that the classes causing java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError are always the ones that contain static collection of data. The samples of those classes are CityList class and CountryList class which has a HashMap of city IDs and the city name strings. I'm not sure why those classes suddenly become unavailable. The strange thing is that my application becomes normal again when I upload my classes to site. Please note that my webhoster set up the server so that every time I upload my file to their given directory, it's automatically copied to the resin server. I have no direct access to the resin server myself. After I re-upload my classes, everything seems ok for a few hours, then suddenly I get NoClassDefFoundError again.
Anyone knows why? Please help. I have no idea why this is happening.I seem to have a similar problem. No fix...looking for a solution.
I have a stand alone java application that will run for a long period of time. While running it calls a specific static method on a class. Everything is working fine (while executing the method in the class) and then, all of a sudden, I will get a noClassDef error.
I am running this application with a number of JVMs, all using the same version of Java and they do not show this problem. I know that they are all calling the same class and method and they never have the problem. But, every now and then, it seems like there is some runtime condition that comes up where it is not able to load a class.
The problem appears to be dynamic because I can restart the application (after the JVM crashes with the exception) and everything works fine, including the class and method that caused the problem. I start everything with scripts so there is no variation in classpath settings.
I have seen a similar problem in a non-static class when one event happens and it goes to load a common class (that I know is in the classpath) and I get the noClassDef error.
Could this be a threading issue in any way? No ideas, no fixes in sight. Any ideas or questions would be helpful. -
Hi,
I am now working with jsse1.0.3 and jdk1.3.1(I can not use the new jdk version, because the system I developed is based on jdk1.3.1). what makes me strange is that I can compile my program without problem, but when I run it, it always report error.
my source code is :
import java.security.*;
import javax.net.ssl.*;
System.out.println("Classpath ->"+System.getProperty("java.class.path"));
SSLSocketFactory factory = (SSLSocketFactory)SSLSocketFactory.getDefault();
SSLSocket SSLcontrol_connection = (SSLSocket)factory.createSocket(ftp_server, 990);
SSLcontrol_connection.startHandshake();
..........the erroe message is:

at javax/net/ssl/SSLSocketFactory.getDefault (DashoA12275)It is not a classpath problem as I have included the 3 jar files into classpath,.
I also tried to add
Security.addProvider(new com.sun.net.ssl.internal.ssl.Provider());before create SSLSocketFactory, then it report that
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError
at com/sun/net/ssl/internal/ssl/Provider.<init> (DashoA12275)My developing GUI is eclipse 3.1, and the OS is winXP.
Please give me some help, thank you very much.oh. I have found the problem. Acturally, the running enviroment is under microsoft j++, so it could only support jdk1.1, but jsse only support from jdk1.2, so that's the problem why it said that no class found.
Now I only found that oracle has a solution for SSL which support
jkd1.1(SUN's jsse package only support from jdk1.2). It described the
method and sample code in Oracle Advanced Security Administrator's
Guide Release 2 (9.2)

EJB lookup via JNDI results in java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError
Hello,
I have created and deployed an EJB to the WebAS (ver 6.40). There is no problem looking up the bean via JNDI and calling its methods from a J2EE application - I successfully did this via a servlet.
However, a JNDI lookup from a Web Dynpro application - on the same server - results in a java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError error.
The code for the JNDI lookup is identical in either case.
Any thoughts?Hello,
I am calling ejb from .jsp use following code

InitialContext ctx = new InitialContext();
Object ob = ctx.lookup("java:comp/env/ejb/CalculatorBean");

Could not find the main class. & java.lang.NoClassDefFound error:
sir / madam
I am facing problems with j2ksdk1.4.0 beta instalation on my windows 2000 advance server.
while installing pops up a message saying could not find the main class.
while using java or javac it says
Exception in thread main
java.lang.NoClassDefFound error:
com/sun/tools/javac/main
even when double clicking java plugin from the control panel
I get the Java virtual machine launcher saying could not find the main class.
I don't have any other java sdk installed.
And i have my environment variables (classpath, path and java_home) set correctly.
this same j2sdk1.4.0 version is installed in the windows 98 system and it's working fine.
Kindly do help me to solve this problem.
eagerly awaiting for your response.
Thanking you
Sajeev Nair
[email protected]you must check with the classpath
please see that you have not repeated %classpath%
at the end of the class path like you do in win98.
similiarly with %path%
in win2000 it is automatically taken care off. -
When I create an EJB Transport Business Service, after selecting the jar that has the EJB 2.1 artefacts (Remote, Home, etc) the oepe plugin fails and can't continue.
As I understand it seems that there is a problem with the classpath of ant build.xml that oepe creates inside folder /tmp/alsbejbtransport/ to compile the bs and generate the wsdl. I checked if tools.jar is in the classpath (in eclipse) and is included, so I can't figure out wich is the problem.
I found this in Oracle, but not helps solve the problem:
