  • Nokia music player handset 6300

    I recently bought a nokia 6300 handset.The music playe is not up to the mark.By searching in the internet for 3 days i finally found a java music player way better than nokia s.its called KD player and here is the link
    http://www.easter-eggs.net.ru/KDPlayer/EN_Versions.htm
    This player has every thing but except one.it will not run in stand by mode.since its a series 40 platform only nokia player can do that.If the features of KD player are incorporated in nokia music player it would be really wonderful.
    why KD player???
    it has shorcut keys like 5-play/pause
    7-shuffle
    9-repeat
    123...go to the playlist...2>>scroll up 3>>>scroll down
    4>> previous song and skip backward if the button is held for 3 sec
    6>>next song and skip backward if the button is held for 3 sec
    and it also has cool feature of creating playlist...
    i just hope these will be incorporated in nokia music player...

    Is it a NEW problem? Have you tried contacting the Nokia Music 'SUPPORT' ?  BTW there are many threads ( some very old ones) on this Forum on this subject. Varius suggestions are provided there in.. You may search for 'Music download process failed to start' on the main page of the discussion board...

  • N-series Music Player plays album tracks in alphab...

    This bug is still in the N85 firmware (V 30.019). So the firmware has now been updated twice, with the error still in it.
    However, I have found a workaround, that is easy to use and does not require too much work. It's a bit on the geeky side, I'm afraid, but not that difficult.
    The Problem
    I have found that N85 (and presumably many other N-series devices as well) cannot correctly read and play music albums, but instead plays the tracks in alphabetical order. The same occurs no matter how you transfer the audio to the device. Even thought the Music Player cannot read the tags in the MP3 files, but it does handle M3U playlists correctly.
    Background
    [A short explanation for those of you who don't know what M3U playlists are. They were originally developed to be used with the computer music player WinAmp, but have since become a rather common little tool. Playlist is basically a text file, with a name like michael_jackson_thriller.m3u, that lists the contents of a music album (or indeed any other collection of music that you like) and describes the sequence of music files to be played. It sort of tells the music player application what you want to hear and in what order.
    When you double click an M3U playlist in your computer, your music player software will open and play the music files in that playlist, automatically. In other words, a playlist does not contain any music, but instructions about where to find them in your computer's or device's memory. You can use playlists in your Nokia N-series phone's music player as well.]
    The Solution
    Always include an M3U file with each album that you transfer to your phone. Then, instead of the album open the corresponding playlist and hey presto! it plays correctly. As an added bonus, you get noticeably shorter gaps between tracks, which is especially nice when you play mixed music (like DJ sets or classical music). Please note that you can't use PLS files (another common playlist format).
    What you want to do is get a helper application to your computer that can easily (or even automatically) create playlists, and then transfer them to your device's Music folder in mass media mode. The simply update your Music Library in your phone and go to Playlists in the Music Player.
    I have found the following (Windows) applications particularly useful.
    Oddgravity Playlist Creator
     A compact tool that creates playlists automatically. I usually select one folder (one album), let the app create the playlist in the same folder, and than just drag (copy) the folder to my phone's mass memory. The whole thing takes something like 60 seconds.
    iTunes Export
     A tool that turns your iTunes playlists into M3U playlists. Can be fully automated.
    Medieval CUE Splitter
    If you use CUE files to split whole albums, this app can create M3U files while you split the album file.
    PS Otherwise I think that Carthage should be destroyed, and that Nokia really should fix that bug!
     tommi_p

    NO .
    E series have the basic features of NOKIA'S music player while hi-end Nseries phones have extra software wise better performance and some of them have better audio chip.
    Why is this?
    Just to distinguish it is an ESeries phone and that is a Nseries?

  • Favorite Music Player?

    Hey all!  What's your favorite music player for linux?  Here are some of my opinions on music players for linux.
    XMMS:  Very nice WinAmp2 clone, though I don't feel that it comes close to being as good as WinAmp2.  WA2 has movie support, and more plugins/visualazations.  The plugins for xmms are nice, but chances are you won't get them to compile.
    RhythmBox:  Very functional music player.  Never had any stability/configuration problems with this one.  It looks half decent in tiny-mode, but no theming support.
    BMP:  BMP is a GTK2 fork of xmms, which is actively being developed.  BMP is still glitchy, but when it matures it will be very nice.  BMP promises winamp plugin support in the future!
    Zinf:  I've been using this a lot lately... It has a nice interface, and decent playlist support and organazation.  There are a couple themes available, and it can look quite sexy with the octapus theme!

    whatah wrote:
    XMMS is by far my favorite player, first off, it does have quite a bit of plugins, and you don't necessarily need to compile them, you can get them in a binary format because xmms' API has not changed much over the years. Another advantage to xmms is that xmms is very skinnable, and I do not believe there are any other players on the desktop that resemble it. While zinf does have skins, i find it very unintuitive to use. Also, zinf's playlist editor is ungainly and is not something i would want to keep open on my desktop. xmms also has support for kjofol skins. You can use xmms to play videos with an mplayer plugin, however, i prefer to use mplayer on the CLI to play movies anyways. xmms also has support for most sound systems out there, including ALSA, JACK, ESD and ARTS. And finally, BMP is a gtk2 port of xmms. xmms uses gtk+. :wq
    whatah
    P.S. if you are looking for a good visualization plugin, try out 'xmms-iris' it has nice visuals and is a light load on the CPU.
    xmmsmplayer is very nice!  I just made an AL package for it..
    pkgname=xmmsmplayer
    pkgver=0.5
    pkgrel=1
    pkgdesc="An mplayer plugin for xmms"
    url="http://www.cse.iitb.ac.in/~nandan/xmmsmplayer.php"
    license=""
    depends=(xmms)
    makedepends=()
    conflicts=()
    replaces=()
    backup=()
    install=
    source=(http://aleron.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/xmmsmplayer/$pkgname-$pkgver.tar.gz)
    md5sums=()
    build() {
    cd $startdir/src/$pkgname-$pkgver
    ./configure --prefix=/usr
    make || return 1
    make DESTDIR=$startdir/pkg/ install
    Xmms-iris is also nice!  these two plugins are bringing me back to use bmp!

  • Cyrillic ID3 tags in Music Player

    I have a n82 and love it, but I tried to loaded a cd album which contains Russian ID3, but when i try to view the artist,song,album names in the phones built-in music player all I see is weird characters as though my phone doesn't support non-Unicode text. I know for a fact that it displays files with Russian taext in the file name just fine and writes and read in Russian just fine but the ID3 tags are a bit tricky for it.
    What can I do to make the music player display Russian ID3 tags properly?

    as i know, sans serif doesnt provide unicode mapping. have you tried to change to arial unicode or others eg. code2000??
    I'm using arial unicode ms to show japanese symbols,and it should work for cyrillic too,since cyrillic is also mapped in arial unicode. font changing is also affect in all app (i suppose), including java app.
    my N73 ME APAC (indonesia) is only able to display latin chars,n by changing the font (that is supports unicode one), now my phone is able to show japanese symbol (including ID3 tag in music player).

  • Music player!! Help!

    Hello, as the topic says.. Im looking for an other music player for my mac in wich I can have all my songs in a list (like winamp or iTunes) and you may ask "why whould I want an other music player if I've got iTunes?"
    ok the answer is that I've got 3 external hard drives, in 1 I have all my iTunes library, in the other one I have all the music in a single folder, thats the one that I use when Im "DJing" since its easier for me to access to all songs if they are in the same folder, But I need the other player to configure it with that hard drive. Its anoying to have all the time both hard drives plugged when I can use only one with out having to listen in iTunes then find the song in the other HD and play it on Traktor studio...
    Thanks.

    I guess u could use VLC media player, im not to sure but it should work.
    to change a mp3 (iTunes) file to VLC player, delete the ".mp3" at the end of a file name, and change it to ".avi", or just go to the info and change the default application to open it with, then press do the same with all such files
    hope i helped in some way

  • Please Advice AS3 Music Player

    Please advice. I am planning to write a program to a music
    player in AS3. The final player have to option like browse the
    computer and select the music files and play. similarly like
    realplayer/winamp. Is there any way to browse files from system
    using fla/swf file. If it is please advice.

    you can do that in action script
    create a button and name it browseBtn. and in actions layer
    put this code
    browseBtn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, browseListener);
    function browseListener(evt:MouseEvent):void {
    file.browse();
    in this way you can browse the files on ur system
    browse method also accept filefilter parameter that is null
    bydefault so you can also put a file type filter like mp3, avi, gsm
    sound types etc
    if u feel any problem then i am here to guide you.

    If your?playback software?supports ASIO?and KernelStreaming then it's possible to route outputs to different ports. Std MediaPlayers streams always through wave port so if you set another software?output?simultaenously,?then you hear (normally)?same audio from each output pair. Try next:?Play one audio file in?Winamp (or MediaMonkey) which is set to?output through KernelStreaming?plugin and another audio file?in NI BeatPort Sync (or Foobar2000 (0.9.x)) which?is set up for ASIO output?through Rear L/R channels. - http://www.foobar200.org- http://www.nati'veinstruments.com- http://www.winamp.com?If you use BeatPort player (or?another Foobar2k (.exe file needs to be renamed then)) with Foobar2000 (both in ASIO mode) then just set?one output through Front L/R and the other through Rear L/R. If this doesn't work then set Foobar to use KernelStreaming output plugin. Remember also enable speakers for both (i.e. 4/4. mode) and it's possible that you need to set CMSS to Stereo Surround. If you dont have ASIO capable card then use Asio4All instead (IIRC, you need to use output ports 6&7 then). - http://www.asio4all.com?jutapaMessage Edited by jutapa on 02-0-200808:24 PM

  • Music Player Apps

    So I'm going to put a few songs on my X2 as a convenience thing (I now have 3 nearly-full 120gig iPods, but they are usually packed away in my road stash).
    I'm going to try and use 320kb MP3s and AAC files. Is there a favorite music player or will the stock music player suffice? I don't want the player to make playlists, organize my music, make suggestions, or otherwise get in my way. MixZing was terrible about that sort of thing, even after I turned that stuff in the options.
    Thanx for ideas,
    Geri O

    stock player is pretty poor. i will agree with powerAMP. it's pretty nice. winamp was very nice too....but it may include all of that junk you don't really want??? i don't recall. i belive that poweramp is also one of the more efficient ones.
    a bit unrelated....but i went ahead and broke down and got a spotify subscription. i must say that for music fans, this is the first one that i've ever found that i think is WELL WORTH the subscription fee. i have about 25 gigs of my collection on my zune and will definitely still keep it in my car....but i now have 15 million tracks accessible on my tbolt. the stream quality is very impressive and if you're in a solid network, it is nearly flawless. the best part is it takes no space. my tbolt just replaced my zune and cd's.

  • More options on Music Player

    Hi, I'm looking for a Music Player that has a Crossfade support (like Winamp) which can be configured (I mean, duration of crossfade effect, like you have in Winamp) it's because i hate silence between musics...i want non'stop music. Other feature is...Autonormalize music volume, it's because the first music could be recorder with high sound volume but the second could be recorded with low sound volume, and it doesn't sense the fact that i have to take out the phone from my pocket only to increase or decrease volume sound. Is there any music player like this for my Nokia 5700Xpress Music (s60v.3)? Will Nokia do it in future? Sory for my bad english....I'm portuguese!

  • Plea for music player improvement

    To nokia.
    pleaaaaaseee!! pleaaaaaaaaaaaaaseee!! pleaaaaaaaaaaaseeee!
     please nokia add folder play  feature into the music player.
    I know many people would agree with me, the simplest way to organize your music is by FOLDERS.
    And because there no way I can ask this directly  from you, I guess this is the only place.
    I had nokia 5130 before ,there is no feature to play music by folder, but my salvation was that I could access my music folders through file manager and it was acceptable.
    Now I tried to do the same thing on my new nokia 500, but it only plays one file from the desired folder and stops, it's a CATASTROPHY!!!!!!
    Please fix this, majority of population are windows users, and they understand the unlimited benefits of folder tree system.
    Luckily I found a solution for this problem, by installing the program called "folder play"
    P.S.. Please do not suggest to use playlists, it's inapplicable in my situation.
    To a person who has a mixture of music , audiobooks and audiofiles , which gathered from different sources on his phone , this sort of advise will induce vomit.

    There is a folder play app in the store,
    but in all seriousness at first I went threw all my songs and setup each in it's own Genre so that no matter where I listen to my songs I know where to find them. I later added information for album, artist, etc and added album art. Winamp + Aimp3 tag editor + Google images = Beautiful album scroll.
    So now when I add a new song or album I make sure to do this each time. There's paid ways to do this but I'm a bit of a perfectionist.

  • Please HELP! Music Player Question!

    I have a music player that I am working on. Here is a link to
    the site
    Omyda Player. If you
    click the little blinking arrow it reveals a control panel. Then
    when you press track selector a window within the flash movie, you
    can then chose a track and it will play. Do to the players slim
    size the fonts have to be made small, so small its hard to read
    unless you have good eyes. What I wanted to do is make it so that
    if you hit track selector it pops up a html pop up window. You can
    then choose your track and it sends the request to the flash
    player. I was thinking of going about it this way!
    I have to use java to send a command to the flash player....
    here is the code.
    The code above actually sends commands to what ever flash
    movie you designate, problem is it is only made to send go to frame
    commands.
    Part 2 is the java button.
    Now how do I name the home.html page? I know how to do a
    window with in a window, but not a pop up to a page. Say for
    example the popup is popup.html, how do I name the home.html. Do I
    simply put home.html in target? Part 3 is an example, Is this
    correct? If not how do I do it?
    Now here comes an issue with the flash. The java code above
    goes to a frame within the movie. So now I have to make a script on
    frame 3 of the movie that tells it to make a button press, but I do
    not know how to do it. Originally the movie worked by pressing a
    button that was marked as a button set as a target called
    Selection1 and so on. How would I make a script on frame 3 that
    would press the button on its own? Kinda like a simulated user
    press. Or is there a way to edit the Java code to act as a button
    press? Please HELP! Part 4 is the coding used in the player!

    Its called telling you the forum rules.
    Now for your question, when you say the phone tells the caller that you are engaged, is it the "busy" tone or it diverts the caller to your voice mail box?
