Java RSA PKCS1 padding Help!

I'm doing a client for my vb6 coded server, though in vb6 i use RSA padding PKCS1 with loading public and private key from PEM formated files,
it works in vb6, but in java. I have trouble recreating the rsa cryptation part for protocols to server.

I'm using a old c++ lib in vb6 since it doesnt really allow rsa to be simple.
Java; this stuff works to encryp / decrypt THOUGH trying to decrypt Rsa encrypted byte array from vb6, returns some error with was expecting zero at start, guessing it's just the java example thats not PKCS1 padding.

    Is there a Java utility class to help with data management in a desktop UI?
    I am writing a UI to configure a network device that will be connected to the serial port of the computer while it is being configured. There is no web server or database for my application. The UI has a large number of fields (50+) spread across 16 tabs. I will write the UI in Java FX. It should run inside the browser when launched, and issue commands to the network device through the serial port. A UI has several input fields spread across tabs and one single Submit button. If a field is edited, and the submit button clicked, it issues a command and sends the new datum to the device, retrieves current value and any errors. so if input field has bad data, it is indicated for example, the field has a red border.
    Is there a standard design pattern or Java utility class to accomplish the frequently encountered, 'generic' parts of this scenario? lazy loading, submitting only what fields changed, displaying what fields have errors etc. (I dont want to reinvent the wheel if it is already there). Otherwise I can write such a class and share it back here if it is useful.
    someone recommended JGoodies Bindings for Swing - will this work well and in FX?

    Many thanks for the reply.
    In the servlet create an Arraylist and in th efor

    ArrayList as an attribute to the session.I am making the use of Vector and did the same thing as u mentioned.I am using scriplets...

    In the jsp retrieve the array list from the session

    You can do this in a scriptlet but should also check
    out the jstl tags.I am able to remove this problem.Thanks again for the suggestion.

  • Java.awt.Toolkit - Coldfusion - HELP

    Greetings.
    I am having a hard time with the following code:
    <cfobject action="create" type="java" class="java.awt.Toolkit" name="fileObj">
    <cfscript>
    img = fileObj.getDefaultToolkit().getImage("images/products/39321.jpg");

    height = img.getheight();
    </cfscript>
    <cfoutput>#height#</cfoutput>
    I keep getting the following error:
    java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError
    My version of Java is 1.4.2. I'm running Redhat Linux 4.0. Coldfusion MX 6.1.
    I know this isn't a Coldfusion forum, but I really need some help here.
    I'm new to Java technologies, so any help will be greatly appreciated.

    can ColdFusion load Java objects?
    Presuming that it can, then ColdFusion probably needs some configuration to tell it the Java directory or where the class files are (JavaHome/jre/lib/rt.jar)

At first, i think it should be my deleteCd( ) problem ..but i do some testing on it..it works fine if i pass a String directly to my function instead of using readString() function to perform ...therefore, i am sure my delete function working fine....i am thinking if it is my readString() problem make my deletion does not perform well...thx for u guy help

    Hello Sorry for the inconvenience, but I have a problem in Java I can not open files, audio chat, which type of jnlp after the last update of the Java 2012-004
    Please help me in solving this problem.

    Make sure Java is enable in your browser's security settings.
    Open Java Preferences (in Utilities folder)
    Make sure Web-start applications are enabled.
    Drag Java 32-bit to the top of the list.
    jnlp isn't an audio file format. It's just a java web-start program (Java Network Launching Protocol).

    First, when posting code in the future, use the code /code tags. Just highlight the code and click the code. button.
    The error probably occurred when you tried to launch the class as an application by entering "java PostfixInterpreter" The java application launcher looks for a method in the PostfixInterpreter class whose signature is exactly public static void main(String[] args)(except 'args' can be any legal variable name). Since your PostfixInterpreter class doesn't have this method, you get the error. If you want this class to run, you have to include the method and code inside the method that runs the application.

  • Java.lang.Error: IP Helper Library GetIfTable function failed

    Some of our users are sometimes getting the following exception:
    java.lang.Error: IP Helper Library GetIfTable function failed
    java.net.NetworkInterface.getAll(Native Method)
    java.net.NetworkInterface.getNetworkInterfaces(Unknown Source)
    Does anyone know why this happens and what can be done against it?
    Is this a bug?

    The operating system is     Windows XP, Java is version 1.6.0_03 Sun Microsystems Inc.
    Today, I got another error report containing this error. They all seem to come from the same user. Given that the user is still using our product, I guess it doesn't happen every time. :) The error actually happens in a third party library that uses JNI, so it could also be possible that this library messes up something. Given that the error happens rather rarely and we haven't got much data, I guess it isn't worth investigating this further at the moment.

    I would guess J2SE

    autoexec.bak????it has nothing to do with autoexec.bat or config.sys
    try this address:

    http://java.sun.com/j2se/downloads.html
    I guess that you are using windows environment, so just choose
    win32 and follow the instruction, the installation is really easy,
    or just use the second address and download the kit

  • Beginner in java and need your help about DES

    hello,
    I m a new guy in java programming and learn from many books.I m making a website and portal right now and dying need your help about DES.my portal (using java) requires somebody to make a login name and a password.I m done with the server and client things and rite now stuck with this "DES" stuff.
    so I make some conditions and algorithm below..
    1. when a user login,the password is encrypted.at this point,cleartext(id) and encryption (M,N) are involve.
    2. then the key is changed based on algorithm.
    3.the key changed by key(id) is received and the original text should be encrypted.
    the algorithm
    1. the original text x1.x2.x3.x4.x5.x6.x7.x8 (64 bits)
    2. encypt the password
    a. Each character is changed into an int type by the ASCII code, and let the 1st bit be an odd number parity bit.
    b.The 1st bit of the 1st character in (IP) is set to '1', and the 8th bit of the 8th character as '64'.
    c.the rest (IP) is like this
    1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
    0 # 58 50 42 34 26 18 10 2
    8 # 60 52 44 36 28 20 12 4
    16 # 62 54 46 38 30 22 14 6
    24 # 64 46 48 40 32 24 16 8
    32 # 57 49 41 33 25 17 9 1
    40 # 59 51 43 35 27 19 11 3
    48 # 61 53 45 37 29 21 13 5
    56 # 63 55 47 39 31 23 15 7
    d. and lastly,from above,,it should be done like this
    1 2 3 4 5 6 7
    0 # 40 8 48 16 56 24 64 32
    8 # 39 7 27 15 55 23 53 31
    16 # 38 6 26 14 54 22 52 30
    24 # 37 5 25 13 53 21 51 29
    32 # 36 4 24 12 52 20 50 28
    40 # 35 3 23 11 51 19 49 27
    48 # 34 2 21 10 50 18 48 26
    56 # 33 1 20 9 49 17 47 25
    e. key y1,y2,y3,y4,y5,y6,y7,y8 (64bit)
    f. generate the key based on ID
    a. Each character is changed into an int type by the ASCII code, and let the 1st bit be an even number parity bit.
    b.the process is repeat again.
    anybody has an idea to help me with the sample program?
    thanks in advance...

    just ask about a simple program how to receive a
    password from somebody and change it to a key..and
    then confirm it with DES.Once again I have a problem understanding what you are asking.
    Are you trying to use the password as a key to encrypt some 'standard thing' and place this encrypted value in a database? If so then look in the JCE for 'password based encryption' such as PBEWithMD5AndDes. This seems back to front to me but I can see nothing wrong with the approach since the 'standard thing' you would encrypt is in effect a key. If this is for a commercial application then I would find a security expert to evaluate your proposal!
    In my experience it is more normal to encrypt the user's password with DES and store the result in the database. To do this just look in the JCE for DES encryption and consider using DES with CBC and PKCS5 padding. Also, consider encrypting the concatenation of the user's 'user name' with the password as this will (almost certainly) avoid having two encrypted values in the database that are the same even if two users have the same password.
    For both of these you might consider using Base64 or Hex to turn you encrpted bytes into ASCII characters before trying to store them in your DB.

  • Im a newbie in java and i need help. im a student

    im an I.T student in Adamson University here in the philippines i went here to ask help about our activity in school about java. our professor told us to make a program in java (btw were using netbeans) that will ask the user his birth year and then the output will tell the zodiac sign of the year entered. she told us (our prof) to make it using showInputDialog. and then to show the output we must use the JOptionPane.showMessageDialog.
    i try to do it but i found myself in trouble bcoz im new in java.
    i try to to it and here's what i did

    String message=String.format("Your zodiac sign is tiger");

    ResultSets based on a wildcard are generally treated as views by Oracle, meaning they are not updatable no matter how you create your statement. Try either "select swa.* from sw_assets swa" or "select all from sw_assets swa", that should get around the problem.
    Also (just being thorough) make sure that you specifically created your statement as being updatable (stmt = conn.createStatement(ResultSet.TYPE_SCROLL_INSENSITIVE, ResultSet.CONCUR_UPDATABLE) ).
    I would not normally expect a NullPointerException when encountering this "feature", but then I don't often use the ODBC bridge.
    Good luck! I hope this helps.

  • At a loss with some simple java classwork. Please help.

    Hello. I'm having a problem with some work that I wasn't able to finish in class. I am not very good at java AT ALL, and I'm really at a loss on how to finish up the program and get it to print what I want it to.
    My task is:
    "Write a program that asks for two words and then eliminates the second word from the first word.
    For example:
    forgot - go = fort
    bedevil - bed = evil
    bedevil - evil = bed
    stupid - is = Hey, is is not found in stupid."
    This is my code so far:
    public class wordSubtraction
         public static String big = "bedevil";
         public static String small = "bed";
         public static void main(String[] args)
              elimWord(String big, String small);
         public static void elimWord(String big, String small)
              if(big.indexof(small)==-1)
                   System.out.println(small + " isn't found in " + big);
              else
                   big.substring(0, indexOf(small));
                   small.substring(indexOf(small)+small.length());
                   System.out.println(small + " + " + small.substring + " = " + big);
    I keep getting this error:
    /Users/mewmew/Desktop/wordSubtraction.java:8: ')' expected
              elimWord(String big, String small);
                                    ^
    1 errorI don't understand what this error means or how to fix it, it looks like I have all the parenthesis in there to me. Deleting or adding semi-colins, parethesis, brackets, or curly brackets just seems to give me more errors.
    Any help is appreciated!

    No it's not JJEdit. The errors are a good thing -
    and each one has to be
    dealt with. When you call a String method various
    things have to be
    correct:
    (1) The name of the method - case is important.
    (2) The arguments - the things in the parentheses -
    have to be exactly
    the sort of thing that the method expects. For
    example if the method
    expects an int argument and you give it a String
    there will be problems
    (3) The methods must be called using a String
    variable and a dot. If
    you just say "substring(whatever)" that's an error.
    The compiler is
    saying "substring of what?" You have to write
    "something.substring(whatever)"
    Also - because it will be important later - both
    substring() and indexOf()
    return a value. It is up to you to do something with
    that value. Usually
    you assign it to a variable.
    Just for the record I got the follow from the String
    API doumentation here:
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/api/java/lang/Stri
    ng.html
    public int indexOf(String str) Returns the index
    within this string of the
    first occurrence of the specified substring.
    public String substring(int beginIndex) Returns a new
    string that is a
    substring of this string. The substring begins with
    the character at the
    specified index and extends to the end of this
    string.
    public String substring(int beginIndex, int
    endIndex)Returns a new
    string that is a substring of this string. The
    substring begins at the
    specified beginIndex and extends to the character at
    index endIndex - 1.
    I would suggest you write elimWord() along these
    lines:public static void elimWord(String big,
    String small)
    int pos = // find the index of small in big
    if(pos == -1)
    System.out.println(small + " isn't found in "
    und in " + big);
    else
    String before = // find the bit before small
    re small in big
    String after = // find the bit after small in
    small in big
    System.out.println(big + " - " + small + " =
    ll + " = " + before + after);
    Thank you! That's very helpful and I feel that I'm THAT much more on my way to understanding what the heck I'm doing.
    I'm trying, though...
    Now I just gotta find out how to get the bits before and after small in big and solve these errors:
    /Users/audreyeckel/Desktop/wordSubtraction.java:24: '.class' expected
              int pos = big.substring(0, int indexOf(small));
                                                   ^
    /Users/audreyeckel/Desktop/wordSubtraction.java:24: ')' expected
              int pos = big.substring(0, int indexOf(small));
                                                                  ^
    2 errorsI just hope I can finish it before it gets TOO late...it's about 2:26 AM here and this is due...TODAY!
