  • How to Enable Custom Java Scripts for forms in Planning 11.1.2.2

    I am working on Planning 11.1.2.2 right now.
    Planning admin guide says, there is no explicit requirement to enable java Script for planning forms.
    I set simple alert to see text "Hello World" in function validateForm() function in custom/validateData.js file - to see and test that alert when I save data for my selected application/form.
    Closed javascript file and workspace, and planning application web page. Since I have not to do anything new to enable this java script alert, I opened that form and saved data to see if I can see my alert.. I got no alert, except "data are saved".
    Has anything changed since last version? Am I missing something? Or, do I need to recycle services to get this alert?
    thanks in advance.

    Thanks guys, for your quick replies..!
    Not sure what I missed, but I still have a hard time finding my "Hello World" alert.
    What I did, is here.
    a. Cleared all cookies and temp files from IE.
    b. Updated validateData.js file from ear / war files using 7-zip program at given path from your link.
    c. Stopped EPM services
    d. Dropped tmp folder.
    e. Started EPM services and let system deploy ear file (with my java script code).
    All services are up. I can see EAR file deployed and java script file ValidateData.js has all my changes in new tmp folder now.
    I am able to open my application and form.
    But, my "Hello World" alert is still not appearing. Form is saved and saw message as usual.
    One exception I noticed in my path. I have ....user_projects\domains\EPMSystem\servers\EPMServer0\.... in place of ....user_projects\domains\EPMSystem\servers\Planning_0\.... in my path. Planning_0 is replaced by EPMServer0 in this version. Rest is all same.
    Any clue? thanks in advance,

  • "error while evaluating Java script for the package"

    Okay, this is a new one on me! Anyone ever get this message? I don't know what is going on with my iMac, all I know is that about a month ago my iTunes was working fine, and when I just went to use it, it tells me "you can not use the application iTunes with this version of Mac OS X. So I thought maybe something was wrong with my iTunes and downloaded it again and i got the "error while evaluating Java script for the package" when I tried to reinstall iTunes. Another issue I am having is with updates. I haven't received an update for a long time and when I manually check, it tells me there are none.

  • Input for Java in the BEx Web Template Installer

    Hello,
    When you run the BEx Web Template Installer by choosing the "Complete BI PostInstallation" template and clicking Execute Template, you receive two input areas, one for ABAP and one for JAVA.  Do the input values for the JAVA section apply to the BI system or the Portal system?
    Thank you,
    Janice

    Hello,
    Yes, these seetings apply to the Business Intelligence Java Components (BI Java), but I am wondering if this is the means to connect to our Portal system or whether the Portal connection is done a different way? When I call transaction RSPLAN -
    > Hit on 'Start Modeler'. -->Log on to J2EE/PORTAL, I am directed to the "webdynpro" URL. I receive the following error message "The system is unable to interpret the SSO ticket received". We already have SSO configured between BI and the Enterprise Portal, so does it need to be configured for BI also and if so why?

           END col2
    FROM   src_data
    But the problem i am getting is not able apply to the Sum rows(because it happening by using Apex page feature)
    so i want go for Java ScriptsRegards
    Amu

    Hi Amu,
    I don't know if that's the best way to do it, but that's how i handle this:
    I usually copy the report template and name it for the specific region. Then I change it by customizing "After rows" specially for the report, adding something something like:
    <tr>
    <td colspan = "2" class="data" style="text-align: left; font-weight: bold;">Sum</td>
    <td class="data" style="text-align: right;"><div id="port_total"> </div></td>
    <td class="data" style="text-align: right;"><div id = "port2_total"> </div></td>
    <td class="data" style="text-align: right;"><div id="port3_total"> </div></td>
    </tr>I calculate the totals in hidden items on my page and then check them in my javascript and display them in the corresponding <div>s, adding style for the positive and negative colours. Something like
    document.getElementById('port_total').innerHTML = $v('P1_PORT_TOTAL');
    if($v('P1_PORT_TOTAL') > 0) {document.getElementById('port_total').style.color="green";}
    if($v('P1_PORT_TOTAL') < 0) {document.getElementById('port_total').style.color="red";}Regards,

  • De-Facto instructions for Creating Web Templates, PLEASE

    Hello All,
    I am adept at HTML, and am ok with Java. I have hand coded my entire site. And hand created very intricate web templates to use in Breeze Browser.
    Now, trying to fully incorporate LR into my work flow, I am finding it frustrating to find GOOD instructions for creating my own web templates. I have followed several links, read what was said, read forum posts. But to be honest, there just is no good 1 stop source for the busy person to learn how to do this.
    I am asking that someone, very knowledgeable in creating web templates, for both PC and MAC, please put together a well outlined post describing every step needed to do this. And then have the forum moderators make the post sticky so that it is easily accessible.
    This is very important if LR is going to fit into many working pros current work flows. PLEASE somebody do this.
    I will be eternally great full!!!!
    Thank you in advance for any kind soul who considers doing this

    Hello Paul,
    You're not the only one... I know of several people who are waiting for decent documentation of the XML/XSLT mechanisms so that we can create templates for our custom web sites. My own needs happen to be very simple, but frustratingly difficult to achieve (or maybe I'm trying the wrong approach).
    All I want is a file called index.txt that contains a title for the gallery and a list of thumbnails and full size images, and then I want the thumbnails and images all in the same directory and named in a specific way (no spaces and 't_' prefixes on the thumbnails). Trivial in BreezebrowserPro, but so far I haven't managed it with LR (mind you my XSLT knowledge is virtually non-existent).
    This is the only thing that's holding me up purchasing LR.
    Cheers,
    Simon

  • Security for creating web templates using web application designer

    I work for ChevronTexaco as a BW Security Analyst. I have a request to set up roles for web template creation using the Web Application Designer. Where can I get help in setting up the security for these types of roles? My experience is in setting up roles for running and creating queries in BEX. I need to know what additional authorizations will enable web template creation. Setting up a trace in ST01 has been less than helpful since it dumps out tons of RS_COMP tracing that doesn't help me much.
    The user wants to be able to create web templates for existing queries in BEX and restrict by rs_comp infocubes/areas/reportid, etc. and to be able to save to restricted role names. Are there new auth groups specific to this type of activity that I need to code for in addition to the basic end user or report builder authorizations?
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks Marc, I'll check it out. My problem was that I was trying to create the role by granting a userid sap_all, sap_new and s.a_system as well as power user auths for a specific application. I set up a trace in ST01 for authorization cking on the ID while one of our BW Central Support people went into Web Designer to create a template and everything else they wanted to do.
    The resulting trace spewed out so much stuff from S_RS_comp and comp1 as to be virtually useless since it named scores of different cubes and infoareas that the analyst wasn't even interested in. The results puzzled me and made it extremely difficult to pin down the required authorizations. Usually ST01 can be used as a blueprint to create the role,ie; everything that the user touches is traced but no more than that. Have you seen this before? With just the new role I had set up the user could not save to a role unless I coded the fully qualified role name such as YRH_SENDAT_USER. YRH* would not work.
    Thanks,
    Jeff Ehritt
