Java script not working in firefox browser

hi,
I created my application in struts and it was running perfectly in Internet explorer. My application is a public facing application so now i am in need to run the application in Firefox and safari browsers.
While running the application in those browsers i am facing the problem in javascript.

Atlast i found the solution. Its very small change, I changed document.usedCarSearchForm ('usedCarSearchDto.blockCode'). To
document.usedCarSearchForm ['usedCarSearchDto.blockCode'].
Now its working.

Java is not working with Firefox (but is working with Safari)

My computer is showing that Java is not enabled via Firefox. When I try to go into Tools/Add-ons, I see that there is no Java plug-in on that list (though I previously had no problem with Java). When I run software update on my Mac, it tells me my software is all up to date. Not sure what else to do. Java is working in Safari, so the problem is clearly with Firefox. I've tried disabling all my plug-ins, and clearing my cache. Nothing has helped.

Apple has removed support for the Java Plugin2 with the latest Java Update 10 for OS X 10.5 Java version, so the Java plugin is no longer available for Firefox versions and other browsers like Google Chrome that require the Java Plugin2.
There will be fix for this in Firefox 6 or in Firefox 5.0.1 if that version will be released, so that Firefox will find the plugin again.
I don't know if all Java applets will still be working on OS X 10.5 with this fix (Apple recommends updating to OS X 10.6).

this is my ln -s to the plugin at /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins

Any ideas why java is not working?

I installed java from a jdk*.sh file and set the class path in /etc/bash/bashrc (not that it matters.
The appletviewer does work.

Forms Web application is not working on FireFox Browser-with java plugin

Hi All,
We are running custom build forms application using forms 10g and application server 10 g Rel 2. We are using Java Plug-in 1.5.0_06. The application is working fine before recent update from firefox .Now it's not working and keep on asking additional plug in required and taking to java.sun.com for installing the plug in. Even after installing when we access the application it will do the same thing. I tried uninstalling the firefox with the older version and with diffrent java plugin versions.. but the problem still there.. any help will be mush appriciated...

plugin and webstart are not yet available in 64bit jre distributions from Sun.
These are targeted to 6u12 or there abouts.

Java Viewer not Working in Firefox

I'm running CR 11 R2 SP5 and the Java viewer works in Chrome and Safari but not in Firefox. I'm running Firefox v3.5.2. No error messages just a blank Grey screen.
Any ideas?

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

Why would the Java Plugin not work in Firefox 5 on Mac SnowLeopard? I have the most recent version but am unable to use any Java features on Firefox 5. Firefox 3.6 works with the same Java but 5 will not.

Well, it's what I did to get my Java working in Firefox 4. I installed both binaries into my Library/Internet Plug-ins folder. The version was newer that what was previously installed (newer version is 0.9.7.5). It solved the Java problems I was having. My inital problem was that Java would not initiate and no applets would run in Firefox version 4 which I just installed a few days ago.
I know the readme.txt. says it is not compatible with version 4, but the release date on 0.9.7.5 is after the release date of Firefox 4 and so that was I tried it. I figure there was nothing to lose as at worst it woud update my two plug-in files. Nothing was going to be changed otherwise. If you try it, it might work.

I have created 2 PDFs with the same Form name and sub form names.
I have written a javascript and this script seems to be working in one (Demand2.pdf) and NOT working in the other (Sample.pdf).

Hi,
The second file (Sample.pdf) is saved as Static. The script is changing the visual appearance of the form (showing and hiding objects). This requires the file to be saved as a Dynamic PDF. This is available in the save-as dialogue under the file name.

Java Applets not working with Firefox 5 properly

Java Applets work sometime. But after sometime the Java icon at the bottom (near date & time) disappears. After this no matter what I do it does not work. Java Applets are used in this case to draw charts. The same charts come out properly in Internet Explorer. But I prefer using Firefox for its speed. What is the reason for this problem ?

You can enable your Known & Trustworthy Add-ons later. Check and tell if its working.

Java script not working

Hi all
I have a web dynpro abap application with an adobe interactive form. In the form I want to make certain fields read only. To do this I am using java script. It works fine from the livecycle designer in preview mode but when I run the wd4a nothing happens - like the java script is not being executed. I tried changing the Adobe form properties to Acrobat 8 (Dynamic) XML form but it still does not work. Any ideas?
I'm using ALD 8.0, sapgui 710, Netweaver 7 SP 22 and IE8

Have you checked that you can see the access property, for example, with a message box?
xfa.host.messageBox(xfa.form.D8.Page2.<my field>.access);
Also try accesing the field directly

Right click functions does not work in Firefox browser Version 33.

I have just upgraded my Firefox browser to version 33. Now I have noticed that none of the right functions are working. I searched the trouble shooting topic and found an advice where it says to uncheck the "hardware acceleration" option in the "Options" menu under "Advanced-General" button. I tried that solution didn't work.
A workable solution is much needed.

The Mozilla people say it is Adobe's fault - instead of fixing Firefox.
They say roll back to Adobe Flash version 10.
This solves the video problem, but then, any other services that depend on the latest Flash build, quit working properly.
This situation leaves millions of Firefox users in perpetual frustration. We can't use our browser of choice to view any web video built with Flash.
This is so unacceptable. I am unable to understand why Adobe and Firefox don't get together and iron out whatever code incompatibility is causing this.
I would really like to hear Adobe's explanation for this.

Uh... I don't know what planet you posted this from, but Flash video has worked flawlessly with Firefox for hundreds of millions of users here on earth, without any gaps since Firefox was still called Mozilla.

I also use Chrome, IE, Opera, Safari and a few other browsers you probably never heard of (like SeaMonkey, Maxthon, Waterfox, iCab, OmniWeb)... Flash works in all of them.
I'd have to say the problem is with your system specifically, because if it was a Firefox/Flash compatibility problem, there would have been hundreds of millions of complaints about it, for over a decade. That... just isn't the case.

Java script not working in JSP.

I've got a problem with a java scipt that's not doing what I want it to do.
I have a jsp which gets data from a database to display.
On the jsp there is a "add" button which on click will open another jsp to add a contact, when I add the contact the jsp calls a web servlet which adds the contact to the database.
After the contact is added the servlet directs the page back to the contacts page, and it must display the newly added contact in the jsp.
I've configured a script that checks if there is a attribute called "addContact", if it has a value of "added" it must reload the page on load, which in turn will display the newly added contact, it refreshes but it doesn't display the newly added contact, it worked but after awhile it stopped working.
Beneath is my code for the contact list jsp and the servlet.

You have the contactsList.jsp which when Add is clicked you go to addContact.jsp in the same window. Then when addContact is submitted it goes to the neContact servlet which adds the contact to the database and then sends a redirect back to the contactsList.jsp.
When contactsList.jsp is re-shown it doesn't display the new data so you are using javascript to force-refresh the page, which used to work, but doesn't anymore.
My guess is that your browser or some proxy between your browser and server is caching the page. You have to tell all clients not to cache that page using META tags:

Java will not work on Firefox 3.6 and 4.0.Why?

After upgrading toFirefox 3.6 and 4.0 cannot get Java to work.
Uninstalled several times with both versions,and reinstalled the same.As soon as Iclick on a Java site Firefox freezes and does not respond

Everytime you upgrade firefox 3.6 onwards In win XP you are advised to upgrade Flash player and now for FF 3.6.8 player 10.1.54.. I don't find any justification.I would rather suggest user of Mozilla to clear the unwanted file created on macromedia flash player at C:\Documents and Settings\(**type__yuorfoldername)\Application Data\Macromedia\Flash Player\#SharedObjects> then except for s.ytimg.com ,ww.youtube.com you can safely delete the other junk.Thn move on to E:\Documents and Settings\ **type your foldername)\Application Data\Macromedia\Flash Player\macromedia.com\support\flashplayer\sys perform similar exercise.
