    Hello, we have an OracleWeblogic 10.3.2 running on a Solaris OS.
    In this AppServer we have a FullStack J2EE Application executing distributed transactions that involve 3 manageable resources:
    TxDatasource (EJB),
    NonTxDatasource with enableTwoPhaseCommit and
    JMS
    Some of the transactions are timing out while in 'Logging' state and I just cant figure out what the root cause is. As a defensive action I lowered the JTA Timeout seconds because I noticed the 'Logging' phase was taking too long and then timing out. Idea here was not to have too many threads hanging in Logging state and therefore use the JTA Timeout to overcome this problem and minimize impact.
    Below, I'm posting a few exceptions thrown in applicaiton log. Any help is very appreciated.

  • Javax.transaction.SystemException: Exceeded maximum allowed transactions on

    Hi,
    I receive the following error when restarting weblogic server instance. Same error occurs when re-deploying the package.
    I had previously deployed this package OK. Nothing has changed for the jar file it is complaining about.
    I have restarted all java processes and even had the unix server restarted, however the same error comes up. I have no idea what to do.
    Currently I have no application deployed as it fails every time. Nobody I know has seen this error or knows how to recover.
    Please help!

              In my Workshop 8.1 SP2 project I have a Custom Java Control whose methods I call
              from my JPF. From that custom control I create a remote connection to a Weblogic

              As soon as I take out RMI calls from my custom control's code, I can return any
              object I want back to my JPF. Here is the what I am thinking is happenning.
              The system that runs on Weblogic 6.1 manages its own transactions and begins a
              new transaction every time a session bean residing on that server is invoked.
              In addition, Weblogic 8.1 starts an internal transaction when the Custom Java
              Control makes a call. Could there be some kind conflict? If yes, is it possible
              to disable transactions from the Java Control?

              Generally it's a good idea to use Oracle's system DUAL table
              for testing connections on reserve. Try to change your ABCConnection
              connection pool configuration to use DUAL as the test table

              not to be said that I have "some" questions about it:
              1. Why it doesn't work?
              2. Why order of message sending brings two different results?
              3. In CASE I:
              What is the meaning of the exception "javax.transaction.SystemException:
              SubCoordinator 'b00+127.0.0.1:7001+b+' not available"
              Why is it using the loopback (127.0.0.1) ip? Is that code being runned
              inside the server with the SERVER_2 (192.168.1.3) ip?
              4. In case II:
              How is that the message of the exception is
              "weblogic.transaction.internal.TimedOutException: Timed out
              tx=0:8c9a9deee02fe21e after 30 seconds" when it's clear the program took
              more than one and a half minutes to execute?
              Most of the time is spent after printing the "Ending transaction..." line.
              The first part of the program is executed in a few seconds (about 2 or 3 it
              depends of the time to get initial context against both servers)
              I'm really puzzled with this. I don't know what to think about it. Is this
              so weird nobody have tried something like this?
              I have done some other test for which the results are:
              a) Commenting lines related to UserTransaction (82,91-94)
              It works OK. Both servers receive the message.
              b) Commenting lines 85 or 88 (related to sending messages to each server)
              It works OK. Both servers receive the message. I pressume there is no
              "real" XA transaction as there is only one resource involved on it.
              c) In CASE I launching the client with "rollback" as second parameter I
              neither get any exception nor messages are delivered which would be OK
              d) In CASE II launching the client with "rollback" as second parameter I get
              a "javax.transaction.SystemException: Timeout during rollback processing"
              and messages are not delivered.
              Any idea?. I really need this to work in order to free our server for heavy
              asyncronous loads and deploy new stuff on it.
              PS.
              I attach both servers config.xml files and both MDB and client full code. If
              you are going to test it you must add a new user and group to weblogic
              default file realm:
              New user: subscriber
              New group: xajms
              of course you must add the new user to the new group in order to make it
              work.
              Here are the lines extracted from server's domain "fileRealm.properties"
              file reflecting the new user and group (defined on ejb-jar.xml and
              weblogic-ejb-jar.xml files on the "role" section):
              group.xajms=subscriber
              user.subscriber=0x6b9a704bebc709dd083edd61ed000236eb23987f
              The client receives two parameters. The first one is a string to be sent as
              message body, the second one is either "commit" or "rollback" just to test
              XA transaction doing it's work as expected.

    do you connect to 10g database inside onBusinessEvent using Non-XA/XA connection??. I guess it could be bcoz of Non-XA connection (or) XA Without Global Transaction support, and this connection is listed with the transaction manager and it is trying to commit it after onMessage.
    For Global Transactions options, go to your weblogic console and check the following path.
    (Datasource -> Advanced Options -> Global Transactions -> Honor Global Transactions should be true)

  • Java Transactions WITHOUT JTS

    Hi All:
    I am working on a project where the user can create 3d components. In our code we do this:
    - Create an object from a java class that represents the component
    - Add the object to the component collection (data model)
    - Create the 3d component with our modelling library
    - Render the component with our rendering library.
    If any of these steps fails I need to rollback the whole process (transactions). So my question is this:
    - Do you know any documentation about transactions in Java?. Any algorithm or implementation of them that I could use?
    I have been taking a look to the Java Transaction Service but that is too much for what I need and besides my application is not a J2EE application.

    We're using Weblogic 6.1 with Oracle 8.1.6.
    This happens whenever we want to update a record in the database
    represented by our Entity User Ejb object. The weird part is that
    this is the only situacion that causes the problem. We can create
    users without trouble and we can create/update any information in the
    database represented by any of our other beans but update for User is not
    possible.
    I tried to look for information in the bea web site but I could not find
    anything related to it. I couldn't even find the weblogic.jdbc.jts package?
    Do you have any idea about it?

    Hi Alberto,
    As you can see from the exception the transaction was rolled-back due to timeout. As to your question of why it is happening in the particular method, the reason might be the time that is being taken in this particular operation. You can increase the timeout seconds for the transaction by changing the value in weblogic-ejb-jar.xml file. The default value is 30 secs. Use the tag <trans-timeout-seconds> to change this value. This is the child tag of
    <weblogic-enterprise-bean>
         <transaction-descriptor>

    Then any one has idea or code or any thoughts or alternatives for this... This goes like this-->
    If we have a batch file which has All Inserts , Updates and delete statements and we are reading that file in java program and executing the file in a batch execution.. Now java provides only 2 option 'START AND END' for batch execution. But ever dreamed about having Save Points in execution of a batch ?
    You might be thinking why Save points needed in batch? if any one wants to have save points then they can go with normat step by step execution of the jdbc calls Why in batch ?
    Trust me this is very important in various areas of development which will bring an ease of writing the program efficently..
    Does any one have any idea in this regard of having SavePoints in batch execution is highly welcome.

    If your database supports SAVEPOINT savepoint_name sql and ROLLBACK [WORK] [ TO [ SAVEPOINT ] savepoint_name] sql, you can try to add those sqls into your sql batch.

    Suppose that you have the database page size set to 512B. The size of an item (key or data item) that can be stored onto a leaf page will be approximately 128B (usually calculated as page_size/4). Any item exceeding this size will be forced onto an overflow page.

    The actual formula for calculating the size of an overflow item looks like this: overflow_item_size = (page_size - page_overhead) / minimum_no_of_keys * 2 - item_overhead * 2
    Remember that on a Btree database page the minimum number of keys that can be stored is 2 (each record requires 2 slots, one for the key, one for the data).
    Now, you can pad your key and data items so that they extend up to this limit. You can set your page size to a 512B, pad the items so that they extend up to 111B (based on the formula mentioned above) and store the records you need but with some dummy records in between, such as (key | data):
    keyX<pad_bytes> | dataForKeyX<pad_bytes>
    keyXX<pad_bytes> | dataForKeyXX<pad_bytes> (dummy record)
    keyZ<pad_bytes> | dataForKeyZ<pad_bytes>
    keyZZ<pad_bytes> | dataForKeyZZ<pad_bytes> (dummy record)
    The idea is that considering that by default a lexicographical comparison routine is used by BDB for key comparison, each record you need will be distributed onto a page with an ignorable/dummy record, hence you should end up with the keys you need on different leaf pages.
    You'll have to adjust the number of padding bytes according to the page size and the size of your key/data items.

  • Transaction rollback due to SystemException

    "I get this exception during a batch process. I use a Message queue to gather messages and an MDB spins out multiple threads to service the messages. The transaction breaks due to a SystemException and says transaction has been rolledback. But I've no clue why the transaction is getting rolledback. This happens to most of the messages in the queue.
              The following is the exception.

I attempted to manually compile the IDL code in the OMG Transaction Service Specification 1.4 using idlj in JDK 1.6 and ran into one compilation issue after another, until I realized The CosTransactions Module, and other required Corba IDL interface are already converted into Java classes in the tools.jar of the JDK. My assumption was I should map directly to the classes in the JDK if I create a Java Transaction Manager for the Java Transaction Service Specification?
    Any help you can provide on this subject will be appreciated.

  • Issues while configuring java application using JDO with MS JDBC Driver 1.0

    We are in the process of configuring our java application with the production version of SQL Server 2005 Java Database Connectivity (JDBC) Driver 1.0. We are facing issues getting it to work with Sun App Server using JDO concept.
    After creating the data store, adding the JDBC driver to the application server classpath through console and also copying the driver into the lib directory, we are still getting the below error.

    I have already tried this before and this not work too, but strange that even if I use JDBC:ODBC bridge driver, the return value for output parameters are not correct, that is, only return the value that I input but not the value after executed in the procedure....

  • JMS Send Transaction Failing, due to resources could not be assigned

    I am trying to get a transaction of a JMS send to work where the origination of the send occurs in domain A and the message queue is hosted in domain B. I have been able to get this to work; however, this issue has shown up in recent tests. I haven't changed anything other than the version of the Oracle database client that is being used. I don't see any relationship between that and the persistent store.
    Both domains are hosted on the same computer and both domains are simple development domains. Trust is established between the domains using 'global trust'.
    I'm running Weblogic Server 10.3.4..
    I'm not sure how to get around this issue. I can't find any documentation...
    My suspicion is that there needs to be some special configuration for the transaction, since I'm using the default persistence store. The warnings seem to indicate the problem. The AdminServer is hosted on domain A and the AuditAdminServer on domain B...
    Any assistance will be greatly appreciated!

    I didn't think to look there, since I assumed that everything needed by base would be in [core].
