Java upgrade

I really dont know about javascript and java errors. I have Dell dimension 2400 with windows xp, What version of java should I have right now on my system so I wont have any problems browsing the internet?

First, do you have any Java already installed? Look in the Window add/remove program list.
If you find a Java entry with a version of 5.0, then you have the latest. If you find a Java version of 1.4.2_06 or 1.4.2_05, while they are not the latest, they should be just fine for most all purposes.
Earlier versions can be used if no problems are being experienced. If you wish to update an earlier version I STRONGLY recommend that you remove the existing version (via Windows) first, problems will be less likely. To automatically install version 1.4.2_06, go to http://www.java.com
To install (manually) version 5.0, go to http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/download.jsp
If you want to create Java programs, you will want to download the JDK.
If you want to run but not create Java programs, you will want to download the JRE
(unless you are having problems, a reasonable solution - if you have an existing version that starts "1.4.2..." - is to use it .)

As Van mentioned above,the issue may caused by the TAO NT Naming service.
Please check the status of TAO NT Naming service/License Manager
when the issue happens.And in case the error is really caused by
those services,please try to re-install the whole server tools.
Also,if the issue still persists,as another workaround we suggest you to use a simple
batch script to test the Status of the TAO NT naming service,
and restart it when the services was stopped.
Such a script can be launched with windows scheduled every several
minutes.

JAVA Upgrade from CRM 5.0 to CRM 2007

Hi,
I need help. I'm trying to upgrade our CRM 5.0 to CMR2007 and encountered a problem during the JAVA Prepare Phase.
Here is the error I received.

Hi Ramon,
In subdirectory trc you should find a file SAPJup.TRC containing some more details on the exception that happened. Add the stack if you find it there.
PhaseTypeDetermineSystemId is the first phase class to be loaded from package lib/sdt_j2ee.jar. So, you should check if this jar is around.

Mail server (IMAP) freezes aftur java upgrade

I upgraded my Tiger server (10.4.5) with java upgrade that appeard in Software Update (J2SE 5.0 Release 4 (PPC)). After the uppgrade my mailserver frezes aftur a few hours and I have to restart the server to be able to send and recieve mail.
Has anyone experienced the same problem?

What Java Upgrade Impacts on Oracle

Hi
We are applying OS patches and a Java SR patch to out IBM AIX 64 bit Oracle Environment to comply with the pending Daylight Savings time change. I am currently researching if we will need to apply additional patches from Oracle on our Oracle products as well.
As anyone out there performed the following patch upgrade described at the bottom of this message to an IBM AIX 64-bit environment? We are currently running java version "1.4.2" Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.2) Classic VM (build 1.4.2, J2RE 1.4.2 IBM AIX build ca142-20050929a (SR3) (JIT enabled: jitc)).
I am thinking since we are not upgrading our Java to 5.0 applying the APAR described below will have no effect on existing Oracle products running (Database 10.1.0.3, App Server 10.1.2.0.2 and Grid Control (Agents and Management Service) version 10.2.0.2.0 since the base version of Java will remain at 1.4.2. We also have a good deal of Java code developed in JDeveloper (10.1.2.1.0 Build 1913) running as OC4J web applications on our 10G Application Servers.

Also, when you say "Java upgrade", are you referring to the client or mid tier? Changing the mid tier Java version will not change the appearance of the GUI on the client side. How can I uninstall this latest java upgrade?

I just installed a java upgrade called "build 1.6.0_05-b13 and now I cannot get Microsoft Front Page 2003 to work. I have to use MS Front Page to maintain my website. How can I uninstall this latest java upgrade so it will go back to using my previous version of java?

Well, i have a query here when i am doing upgrade on ABAP stack ECC 5.0 to ECC 6.0 EHP4 SR1 i alowed to select required compoenets , which eventually will generate mea XML file in Solution manager system.
But, When i have planned to UPGRADE only JAVA Stack for EP 6.0 to EP 7.0 EHP1 SR1. When i selected my system in Solution manager i am not getting option for UPGRADE.
If it is so how about my XML file during JAVA upgrade is not mandatory or not .. Please advice me on this.

Hi Rahul,
Yes, for Java Upgrade to EHP1 you need xml file. Normally you should be able to download xml file from solution manager from MOPZ.
If you are not able to download it from solman then you can also download the xml file from service market place and this is only for EHP1. Follow below procedure to download xml file from SMP for EHP1:
Go to https://websmp205.sap-ag.de/sp-stacks
Click on SP Stack download.
Select SP Stack Netweaver 7.0 (New window will open)
Then on New Window Select Source Stack, Target Stack and usgae type. Then Click Next.
On Next screen Select Kernel and IGS. Then Go Next.
On that screen you will get a option to Save as File. Then save as xml.
This is the xml file that you can use in upgrade.
For EHP4 you cannot download it from service market place.

Forms application is broken since a java upgrade

All,
our user services center upgraded java on end user desktops.
Since the upgrade to 1.6.0_50, some Oracle Forms webutil calls when running the form via a web browser just hangs the browser. My developers are making webutil calls from Oracle Forms in this application.
We are running Oracle Forms 10.1.2.3 on the Linux Host. There have been NO changes on the server. The only change has been on the client machines where the version of java was upgraded.
I had one of my developers turn on the java console and run the application. It threw the following error in the Java Console:

My question is does each user desktop installation require a jacob.dll? Where should this jacob.dll be located on the desktop installation and can the jacob.dll that is located on my Linux Host where Oracle Forms 10.1.2.3 be used on the client machines?

We are troubleshooting problems with our WEBUTIL forms in our 10.1.2.3 AS in a RHEL environment and have not found a solution yet. What we are running into with the WEBUTIL forms is that they just hang after we call them from a browser window. There is not much information in the Java Console. All I see is:

We were using JInitiator previously with out 904 forms but are using the Java plugin with this version. And the rest of the forms seem to be working. Our problems are just with the WEBUTIL forms. NOTE We did not upgrade our 904 AS to version 10123. We created a new install and compiled all our forms/reports/pll/menus over in our new environment.
If you don't mind me asking can you tell me if you had to recreate the WEBUTIL schema and its objects after you upgraded to AS 10.1.2.3?

Java upgrade over solaris 10 x86 32 bit for weblogic installation

Hi All I need to install weblogic over solaris 10 x86, for that i need following configuration :-
JDK Sun Java 2 JDK 6.0 Update 05 with the Java HotSpot™ Client and Server
VMs (32-bit) and all later service packs of 6.0
How can i update this java over solris or is it actually required.Can someone please help??

Oracle WebLogic Server 11gR1 (10.3.4) Generic and Coherence V24338-01 1.1G
Would it be gud. or i would need something else. Actually thing is I am having windows machines over which i have installed solaris 10 x86 running over VM ware, i also upgraded java to 7 update. Now would it go fine with the mentioned file or I am going wrong somewhere,

Patching Web AS Java, upgrading SDM results in version conflict

Hi,
We are currently patching Web AS Java for our XI 3.0 system which is based on Netweaver 2004 system. Since patching Java with this Netweaver version is implemented through SDM only, unlike for Netweaver 2004s which uses JSPM, we are having problems while upgrading SDM which is a requirement for patching web AS Java. Please see the error below:
SpecVersion of new SDM is older than installed SDM:(location of SDM)
SDM terminated with errors: Exit code: 4
What is the best thing do with this? Shall we continue upgrading using our SDM version? Or shall we have to find another SDM version. Also, how can we determine the patch level of SDM?

Can't start UCSM after java upgrade

Hi
After I have been recommended to upgrade to newest java, I can't start UCS Manager anymore.
I try from a Windows 7 64 Bits computer and a Windows 8 64 Bits computer.
Same error.
As you see, I have java 1.7.0_07. It is higher than the reguirement.
UCSM version is 2.0(2q)
Because there is some security issues with earlier java versions, I don't want to downgrade.
Do anyone have any solution on this problem?
I have uninstalled every version of Java, and just installed the newest, but it didn't help

For you to use 1.7 you need to have UCSM version 2.0.3a and above.

At this point, the only option for you is to downgrade back to a 1.6 version.

In ADDin JAVA upgrade , SAPJup is getting stopped after CHANGE_UME phase

We are upgrading our ECC 5.0 (ABAP + JAVA) to ERP2005 EHP4 SP level 5.
In the Downtime phase of the upgrade, SAP Jup is automatically getting stopped after CHANGE_UME phase. I am not able to find out the error. Why it is getting stopped even i started it many times, it goes to the CHANGE_UME phase then automatically stopped.
There is no error in CHANGE_UME_***_09.LOG file.

How to reset java upgrade in dual stack upgrade

Hi,
We are working on dual stack upgrade.Now we are in downtime phase for both the stacks.I have situation to reset upgarde now.
I restored DB before downtime phase and jup for java and upg for abap.I am able to reset abap stack.Could anyone please let me know the process to reset java stack.

In order to reset Java Part, you need to restore file system of the same time-stamp which you have restored for database. Since you have restored DB, so shadow repository of Java Part is already gone, so only you need to restore file system.

CRM 2007 Java Upgrade to CRM 7.0 EHP2

Hi All,
I performed dual stack split in CRM 2007 with separate DB for ABAP and JAVA. For upgrading CRM 2007 I tried generating solman XML file. For CRM 2007 Java, the target is chosen as CRM 7.0 EhP2, but the Net weaver components are showing the current version 700 SP21. I tried couple of times still NW 7.00 SP21 (current version) only appearing for target in solman. In Abap side, I got NW 7.03 as target for CRM 7.0EHP2 upgrade. Please advise what could be wrong.

First, you have to use EHPi installer to do this upgrade. Second, for EHP2 upgrade, MOPZ is must because you need stack file that you can get from MOPZ only. Also, patches for EHP2, you can get from MOPZ only.
