Java using jeode

I have an IPAQ 3800 with Insignia's Jeode. I am able to run both examples programs (PrimTest and Quasar).
However, I am not able to run any java programs that I have written.
I tried a basic applet that just says "hello world" attempting to run it through IE. All I get is a Failed to Run Applet Please reload.
In looking at the jeode FAQs it speaks of not having enough memory as a common reason for this error. I can't believe a simple Hello world would cause that.
Any solutions??
Thanks in advance for your help

I haven't used Jeode in a few years, but I do remember it being a pain as it did not have all the classes commonly used. I remember only being able to use Java SE 1.2 basic classes to build whatever programs I needed. Anyways, there is another solution out there, Superwaba (http://www.superwaba.com.br/en/default.asp). I could not use this at the time because it was not a multi-threaded VM, but they have implemented Threads since then.

  • Personal Java and Jeode??

    Once there is no Personal Profile available for Windows platforms, one solution I've heard about is using Personal Java and Jeode VM.
    As I can see, Jeode is a very good VM and supports some versions of standards Java versions..and Personal Java is no longer supported by Sun, but it's functional.
    Is there anybody who knows wich versions are usable? Looks like jdk 1.1.8..is there one newer?
    Any help appreciated.
    Thanks

    There is a certified Win32 (and PocketPC) version of Personal Profile available with IBM's WSDD 5.6 Tech Preview. See:

    regarding your Map/LinkedHashMap, since you keys are String and you values are Objects... you would define you Map using those two as you data type pair...
    ap<String,Object>thisRow = new LinkedHashMap<String,Object>();and similar for you List/ArrayList where you putting Maps into...
    List<Map<String,Object>> rows = new ArrayList<Map<String,Object>>();for more information on generics read...

  • What is the output of Maya and how does Java use it in animation.

    What type of software is used and what input and output files are created in the animation process?
    From what I read:
    Maya is used to create polygon structures, perform rigging, and it attaches surface textures which are made in Photoshop. Then Maya creates key images or positions of the animation. Next Maya exports an image and a data file to do the neccessary transformations. Finally, Java uses the image and the data file to paint the images and their position based on the game logic's use of the data file.
    What have I missed or described wrong?
    I also need more clarity on the input files to Java and how Java stores and uses these files. The use of Maya images and files seems different. Is Maya or Java doing the transformations or are they both doing them? How does this work?
    Thanks for your help
    Jon

    Thanks for the explanations. What this means in my situation is that tags are an unnecessary way of spending a lot of time making my file system more complicated, without adding any value whatsoever. Without tags, I can find any of my 3,000 files with a few clicks. (On my computer, Spotlight has cobwebs. I very rarely need it, but it's wonderful when I do.) Now that I know how tags work, I can ignore it.
    A human being can only perceive a quantity of seven without counting or grouping; hence we arrange things in structures to keep the number of entitites low on each level. You don't need to count three objects to know that they are all there, but you do need to count twelve objects. Which is why Home Alone was believable. We sort screws and nails in jars and toolboxes have compartments. Even the grocery store has a hierarchical arrangement. You don't find steaks in the bakery section, or breakfast cereal in the produce department.
    Some people aren't organized, and that's not a bad thing, but no folder, no tag, and no group is going to change a fundamental personality characteristic.
    Thanks everyone for showing me that in my case, there's no point to tags. That saves me a lot of time.

  • Duration of an Abap Function call from Java using Jco3

    Hi guys!
    I would like to use this discussion to get some refernces of the duration Timespan of an RFC call from Java to SAP. At the moment, i need at last about 200ms to call the Abap function. I'm just using one simple import and export parameter (so no deep structures). I think that the reason for my poor performance is, that the Java Tool and the SAP instance are not in the same network. So, i hope some of you have some data, how fast an RFC call from Java using Jco can be executed.
    greetings, Hannes

    Hi Hannes,
    I think you have already got the answer to your question - the network set-up you have is probably the bottleneck.  Whenever I've worked with Java <-> ABAP and they are in the same network, I've had no performance problems at all.
    Does your RFC contain any complex logic or business processes?  Are you able to try and call something that does nothing, say it just accepts an input string and returns it straight away as an export.  Do you have any scope for testing with your Java tool on the same network as the SAP system?
    Cheers,
    G.

  • How to implement hyperlink in java using swing components

    hi.....
    pls help me to find out solution
    how to implement hyperlink in java using swing components

    I've got the same problem here.
    I want to implement a HyperlinkListener to a JLabel. (Unlike suggested above, it is only supported by JEditorPane and not JLabel)
    The goal is, that if a user clicks on a Link in a JLabel, the standard browser opens and displays that page.
    Can somebody please help?
    My ultimate goal would be to also be able to add clickable HyperLinks in ToolTip texts, but i guess that'd be even more complicated.

    I tried running my ant script from a dos prompt and still get the same message. I know its just a warning, but has anyone got a clue as to what the message means? How can I modify my ant script to recompile withe the -Xlint option?
    Thanks
    vedshar

    Vedshar,
    these messages occur when you are using classes that support the new J2SE 1.5 feature - generics. You get them when you do not explicitly specify the type of the collection's content.
    For example:
    List l = new ArrayList();
    list.add("String");
    list.add(55);If you want to have a collection of a single data type you can get rid of the messages by:
    List<String> l = new ArrayList<String>();
    list.add("String");If you need to put multiple data types into once collection, you do:
    List<Object> l = new ArrayList<Object>();
    list.add("String");
    list.add(55);If you add the -Xlint:unchecked parameter to the compiler, you get the specific details about the problem.

  • Owner.java uses unchecked or unsafe operations.

         * addVecOwners() Method
         * @param g the is the Owner object
         * The method is used to add the owner
    public void addVecOwners(Owner ow)
        getVecOwners().add(ow);
    or
         * addVecBoats() method
         * @param bt holds the Boat object
    public boolean addVecBoats(Boat bt)
         boolean result = false;
         if( getVecOwnerBoats().contains(bt) == true )
              result = false;
         else
              getVecOwnerBoats().add(bt);
              result = true;
         return result;
    }          Above are the two type of sample coding I typed. I get the following errors when I typed it.
    Owner.java uses unchecked or unsafe operations.
    Note: Recompile with -Xlint:unchecked for details.
    Please help me to get ridof the warning messages.

    If you decide to use generics, you'll have to modify your code
    everywhere you use the collections.
    Before:
    private Vector vecOwners = new Vector();
    private Vector vecOwnerBoats = new Vector();
    public Vector getVecOwners()
        return vecOwners;
    public Vector getVecOwnerBoats()
        return vecOwnerBoats;
    public void addVecOwners(Owner ow)
        getVecOwners().add(ow);
    public boolean addVecBoats(Boat bt)
        boolean result = false;
        if (!getVecOwnerBoats().contains(bt))
            getVecOwnerBoats().add(bt);
            result = true;
        return result;
    }With generics:
    private Vector<Owner> vecOwners = new Vector<Owner>();
    private Vector<Boat> vecOwnerBoats = new Vector<Boat>();
    public Vector<Owner> getVecOwners()
        return vecOwners;
    public Vector<Boat> getVecOwnerBoats()
        return vecOwnerBoats;
    public void addVecOwners(Owner ow)
        getVecOwners().add(ow);
    public boolean addVecBoats(Boat bt)
        boolean result = false;
        if (!getVecOwnerBoats().contains(bt))
            getVecOwnerBoats().add(bt);
            result = true;
        return result;
    }Regards
