  • Converting String foramt(yyyy-mm-dd) to java.sql.Date format(mm/dd/yyyy)

    Hi,
    I am new to this Technology.
    in my Project DataBase I have the date field as String in format yyyy-mm-dd. when I am trying to fetch this date through the front-end I need to see the date in dd/mm/yyyy format of type java.sql.Date Variable.
    if you know, Pl help me.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Kamala.

    Then use a SimpleDateFormat object to parse it into a Date object, and also to format the Date the way you want to see it, rather than simply relying on the toString() implementation.

  • Change the locale Date Format

    Hi,
    By default the date formats in web dynpro applications changes with the locale. For the locale US, the date format comes with the seperator '/ ' for German with '.'.
    But we need to have the seperator '.' for all locales. Where can this standard setting be changed?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Syam.

    Maybe you mean Informix (fronted by JDBC) expects date values as java.sql.Date objects?
    the other part of my application takes date from the field in DD/MM/YYYY format...
    so i have to convert my java.sql.date in YYYY/MM/DD format into DD/MM/YYYY format of same type before inserting into db......I am not sure why you are talking about formats here.
    There is no formatting inherent in a java.util.Date object
    nor in a java.sql.Date object.
    but using parse method in SimpleDateFormat class can get the result only in java.util.date format...
    and also using format method can result only in string conversion........You can easily create a java.sql.Date object from a java.util.Date object.
    String s = "31/12/2010";
    java.util.Date ud = new java.text.SimpleDateFormat("dd/MM/yyyy").parse(s);
    java.sql.Date sd = new java.sql.Date(ud.getTime());
    ud = sd; // java.sql.Date extends java.util.Date so no conversion is needed

  • Making java.sql.Date dd.mm.yyyy format

    Hi,
    java.sql.Date format is m/d/yyyy.
    I must use  dd.mm.yyyy format.
    How can it be done?
    Thanks.

    You can use the following line of code to change the date format
    SimpleDateFormat formatter = new SimpleDateFormat("dd.MM.yyyy");
    String formattedDate = formatter.format(<Ur java.sql.Date instance>);

    Hi, i have a variable "pippo" type java.util.Date formatted like (dd-MM-YYYY hh:mm:ss)
    and I want insert in my Database where the field is Date type(oracle.jbo.domain.Date)
    in the same format(dd-MM-YYYY hh:mm:ss).
    I try to convert "pippo" but the result is formatted(dd-MM-YYYY hh:mm:ss).
    Thank's a lot yours time and i'm very sorry for my easy english
    Bye Luca

    Here is what i have seen that works , but does not preserve milliseconds. Does anyone have other solution? Using dateValue() looses hours, mins and seconds.
    public oracle.jbo.domain.Date toJboDate(java.util.Date pJavaDate)
    return new oracle.jbo.domain.Date(new Timestamp(pJavaDate.getTime()));
    public java.util.Date toJavaDate(oracle.jbo.domain.Date pJboDate)
    return new Date(pJboDate.timestampValue().getTime());

  • How to convert from ifs date format to sql based dates

    I want to write a sql query using dates, to search an ifs
    database. Ifs stores dates as numbers created using the
    java.util.Date class. These dates are accurate to seconds.
    PLSQL uses a different format.
    What I need is a PLSQL function that converts PLSQL date format
    to and from the java.util.date format.
    This is an example of what I would like to do.
    String classname = "DOCUMENT";
    String whereclause = "CREATEDATE > theNeededFuction(to_date('01-
    Jan-2001', 'DD-Mon-YYYY'),'j')";
    Selector mySelector = new Selector(login.getSession());
    mySelector.setSearchClassname(classname);
    mySelector.setSearchSelection(whereclause);
    I do realize that I could simply convert the date in java, but
    in the long run, I want to use the oracle tools that support
    busness day calulations.
    -Mitch

    Hi Mitch - our ViewSpecification functionality automatically
    includes an Oracle Date column, which is derived from the java
    date values we store. These views are the supported way of
    performing read-only operations against an iFS instance.
    For yor reference, the Oracle date column is derived using the
    following SQL operation (e.g. for createdate):
    to_date('01-JAN-1970', 'DD-MON-YYYY') + (createdate/86400000)

  • How can af:selectInputDate be sent to database as java.sql.Date???

    I want to send seletInpuDate component value throught to DB as java.sql.Date format, selectInputDate value returns java.util.Date.
    I'm using also Oracle Toplink, is there any way to accomplish this problem with an expression query???

    Use setTimestamp() instead.
    This allows you to specify date and / or time

  • Date format problem in webdynpro java

    Currently, the date format that gets displayed in our webdynpro java application is MMDDYYYY...i am assuming this is because the web dynpro application has language resource set to en_US as its Current locale in the web dynpro deployed content section.  Howver i want it to display as DDMMYYYY. I have changed the default properties in visual admin for web dynpro from en to en_GB however this has no impact what so ever as the current locale is always set to en_US even after the change so am wondering this property is hidden some where else.  Now the web dynpro i am talking about is a adobe portal application. Could you give me any pointers as to where else i can look for or how i can change the current locale properly ??

    Hi.
    Also this link could help you.

    In special the table showing the order the locale is set in the web dynrpo application.
    Also it is shown in the last pages of this document, [Web Dynpro for Experts|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/58a7e390-0201-0010-abb1-8eec7eb7a2ec?quicklink=events&overridelayout=true].
    And finally you may use the sap.locale request parameter, how it's defined [here|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/f4/651741f163f023e10000000a155106/frameset.htm]. You must add ?sap-locale=en_GB to url.

    The date format in the Web Dynpro Java Application depends upon locale. At runtime WDJ will do the following process to get the current locale for the date format to be determined.
    1. First the WDJ Application will check for the locale set for the user in UME.
    2. If there is no default locale in UME, then the it will check for the locale in the in the browser which in most cases by default is en-us.
    3. If not, then it will check for the sap.systemLocale in the Propertysheet default of Visual Admin
    4. If there no locale specified in Visual Admin, itu2019s taken from the WAS JVM

  • Date field Length in Java Webdynpro

    Hi Experts,
    I have a strange case.
    I created a new filed in the infotype 0175: ZZDAT  like the standard field AUSGD  (type DATS length 8)
    I modified the ESS view and added the new fields.
    The view is working perfectly, the data is transfered between the databse and the webdynpro, the only problem is, that the user can't enter the date manually, because  last point after the day can't be entered: e.g.: 2010.01.01 instead of 2010.01.01.
    If the user uses the search help, and selects the date form the popup calendar, then the date format is correct: 2010.01.01.
    (there is a point after the DAY ) I tried to change the field length manually but still, the last point after the day can't be entered.
    Can you please help me to find out what is the problem?
    Thanks
    N.

    Unfortunatelly this doesn'T help at all.
    I reimported the data element, and restarted the server, but the result is the same. I can'T enter the date manually..
    To be honest, i'm fed up with this stupid java webdynpro.  I hope  there is a special place in hell, for the people who invented this....
    Anyway, I think the only solution here is to limit the field, capabilities. I'll try to set the Date picker as the only input way... I hope this is possible... it's easy in ABAP I just hope that java can do this the same "non-somplicated" way.
    If you have any idea how to do this I'll be very greatfull for any kind of help.
    Bye

  • BPM Java WebDynpro xsd:date decrease one day

    Hi Experts.
    I have a problem with the context between Java WebDynpro and BPM. I have an attribute of date type , when BPM call the Web Dynpro UI, this date it shows to user with one day minus, but in BPM Context and Web Dynpro context are with the correct date.
    I checked the BPM context and the value of this attribute is: "2011-08-06Z".
    I think that the problem is with the "Z" because it's like a time zone.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Julian.

    Hello Julian,
    We faced the same issue as you, and after doing all checks in configuration, nothing!, finally we found a SAP note that recommends to change the date type to string types, but, we have a lot of webservices calls and mappings that requieres a "date" type and this make more dificult the "solution".
    Then we found a little tricky solution.
    We change the webdynpro Date types to Strings, and make the transformation in bpm mapping to cast as xsd:date,  finally in webdynpro you must perform a string.format for the outgoing date as BPM is specting the date ( "YYYY-MM-DD")
    With this solution you see a "date" type in BPM  context and String type in Webdynpro and the offtset disappears.
    This solution maybe is similar to SAP Note, but you don't need to change all your consumed webservices types.
    Regards!
