hi
where can i find javadoc for servlet 2.4.
thank you

Here for example:
http://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-5.5-doc/servletapi/index.html
These classes are also part of J2EE by the way, so you'll also find them here:

  • How do I link the javadoc for one jar to another?

    I'm starting to work on the javadocs for my project. It consists of three JAR files. The problem is I haven't figured out is how to link the javadoc for one JAR to that for another jar. So if JAR A declares class X and JAR B has class Y extend class X, they need to be linked. But the javadoc output only has plain text there. What am I doing wrong? Something like @see com.u3e.tests.tools.X is output as text, not a link. I have the same problem for any @see pointing to part of the JDK. @see java.lang.Object is text.
    My project is NetBeans IDE based.  Do I need to manually specify something on the command line?  I see the -sourcepath and -classpath command line options, but don't know if those would help or not.  Ideally, there would be a place directly in the Documentation portion of the properties for each JAR to list that, but I don't see it.  The various JARs are listed under the libraries section as needed to satisfy dependencies.

    The best way IMO is to sync each iPad with your computer. Having all your stuff backed up on a computer is a good idea anyway. Just read how many folks here are trying to recover lost stuff that could easily be copied back from either backup or iTunes on the computer.
    Sync both iPads to the computer. Transfer all photos to the same computer. Then sync again selecting which items you want on each iPad.

  • What is the "Count" property for Servlet in Console?

    Wondering what the "Count" property for Servlet means in the Console. Is it instances
    or current uses? In other words, if the number is >1 does this mean that the Servlet
    implements the single-threaded model?
    Thanks,
    -Daniel

    btw one of the nice things about java is if you can't find the answer
    in the API or you are not sure what the API is saying you can always
    look at the source for the class your are looking at. the source files
    are in a file called src.zip or src.jar depending on the version.
    anyway just to make sure i understood i looked at the properties method
    in question.
    public String getProperty(String key) {
         Object oval = super.get(key);
         String sval = (oval instanceof String) ? (String)oval : null;
         return ((sval == null) && (defaults != null)) ? defaults.getProperty(key) : sval;
        public String getProperty(String key, String defaultValue) {
         String val = getProperty(key);

    I have tried to locate javadoc documentation for ADF Faces Java classes, but am not able to find anything. For example, the ADF Faces tag documentation for af:convertNumber has the following comment:
    "Further more information see javadoc for oracle.adf.view.faces.converter.NumberConverter"
    But I cannot find this javadoc anywhere on the OTN documentation site.

  • InterMedia Java Classes for Servlets and JSPs and Netscape

    I am using the interMedia Java Classes for Servlets and JSPs to upload and retrieve multimedia data. I have found that it is much more performant in Internet Explorer (5.5) than in Netscape Communicator (4.7). In fact, I cannot upload images larger than 10K at all using netscape. However, the same image can be uploaded into the same application using IE. Is this a known issue?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    We have successfully uploaded multimedia data in the giga-byte range (Quicktime and AVI files) at the same speed with both the Netscape (4.7n) and MS IE (4.n and 5.n) browsers. One thing we have noticed is that its very important to set the manual proxy settings correctly if you have an environment with a proxy server. If you don't, then uploads can go via the proxy server and, for some reason, that seems to take considerably longer. For example, suppose you are in the www.xyzco.com domain and are connecting to a host named webserver.www.xyzco.com, then specify webserver and webserver.www.xyzco.com (to cover both cases) in the "Do not use proxy servers for..." box in the manual proxy server configuration screen. Also, if you're using a tool such as JDeveloper that uses the host IP address in the debugger environment, then you also need to add the numeric-based (nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn) IP address to this list.
    Hope this helps.
    In order to better understand the variety of ways in which our customers are using interMedia, we'd be very interested in knowing a little more about your application, the interMedia functionality that you are using, and how you are developing and deploying your application. If you are able to help us, please send a short email message with some information about your application, together with any comments you may have, to the Oracle interMedia Product Manager, Joe Mauro, at [email protected] Thank you!

  • Thread pool for Servlets

              Hi all,
              I am facing a big problem while doing a concurrent testing of my web application.

              While there is no problem in getting database connection, the session variables
              are getting mixed up (i.e. the session variable for one user is coming up as that

  • Best practice for Servlet EJB integration

              I'm wondering what the best practice is for Servlet EJB integration in terms of
              caching the home and remote objects. My understanding is that the Home object
              is threadsafe and could therefore be cached as an attribute of the Servlet. This
              would remove the need for a JNDI lookup for each request. Similarly caching the
              ProxyObject would yield further savings. However, I have noticed that most examples
              don't use either of these practices. Why not?
              Thanks in advance,
              Geordie

    This has been answered repeatedly. WL allows you to cache JNDI context
              objects, ejb homes and remotes without any problems. (EJB remote interfaces
              must only be used by one thread at a time, but that requirement is provided
              by the EJB spec itself.)

  • JavaDocs for PJC's

    Just been on an Oracle developer day (forms 10g) given by Grant Ronald, he mentioned that the JavaDocs for PJC's existed and might be made available sometime soon. Any idea where/how i can get my hands on them ?
    Thanks
    Richard.

    Richard,
    this is work in progress. Currently the doc are only available for Oracle development and - having seen them - do not contain many good comments so far ;-(
    So no, there is no place to go for that.

  • What is the advent of writing xml mapping for servlet in tomcat4.1

    what is the adventage of writing xml mappings for servlet in tomcat4.1? why dont we write in tomcat 3.1?

    what is the adventage of writing xml mappings for
    servlet in tomcat4.1? why dont we write in tomcat 3.1?Tomcat 3.1 doesn't support it because it was not a common practice then. Tomcat 4.1 deployments were made J2EE compliant. Mapping in XML has an advantage of having a proper DTD for validation, which would be known to all. It serves as a common standard irrespective of the server you use.

  • Where are the JavaDocs for the Thor.API.Operations.XXClient classes?

    I am not seeing any of the JavaDocs for the actual Client classes that should be available for use in OIM. The Interfaces are nice but without documentation of the Client classes we are left to guess how to use the Interfaces.
    Has anyone developed some guidelines on how to use the ReportOperationsClient class? I did the following:
    Defined all of the inputs for the ReportInput class constructor.
    Created the ReportInput instance with these inputs.
    Set the stored procedure name.
    Created an instance of ReportOperationsClient
    Called getPagedReportData with my ReportInput instance.
    No luck.

    As I described in my original post, and as you can plainly see, there is a Client class that is the "worker" class for each of the Interfaces. Without these worker classes, we would be at our own devices to determine how to implement these Interfaces, so I am thankful they are being provided, but the issue is that I am needing documentation for them, since specifically the ReportOperationsClient does not seem to work based on my interpretation of the Interface.
    Thanks for your interest. If the source code for the Operations Clients does not have embedded JavaDocs, that would explain the issue. In that case I would need to have the source code so I can troubleshoot the issues I am having with this class. I opened an SR Friday but have not had any response yet.

  • What are System.in/out/err for servlets?

    While porting some command-line code to a servlet I ran into a problem where the servlet would hang trying to read from System.in. I will obviously need to fix that, but it got me wondering, what are System.in, System.out, and System.err for servlets? Do any of them have a use?
    Thanks
    Michael

    System.in doesn't have a use because it doesn't make sense for a servlet to read from it. The other two are still usable, and generally the application server maps them to a log file somewhere.

    hi,
    I just found that this exception is thrown from function
    public UIViewRoot createView(FacesContext context, String viewId) {
    UIViewRoot viewRoot = handler.createView(context, viewId);
    context.getExternalContext().getRequestMap().put(CREATED_VIEW, viewId);
    setupPageBean(context, viewRoot);
    return viewRoot;
    in viewHandlerImpl.java.
    Has anyone got ideas about this???
    Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    cheers
