JavaFX 1.3 website freezes the browser

I was searching for JavaFX localization on Google, and the first page that appears is: http://docs.oracle.com/javafx/1.3/tutorials/Localize-JavaFX-Application/
This page talks about localization on JavaFX 1.3 and there is an applet inside. But when I access the page my browser stops responding and I can't do anything. I have to stop Java process on task manager.
Ok, I am using JavaFX 2.2.X (bundled with Java 7, not standalone), but should that happen when running 1.3 apps?
My configuration:
- Google Chrome 24.0.1312.57 m (32 bits)
- Java 7 update 13 (build 1.7.0_13-b20) (32 bits)
- JavaFX 2.2.X (bundled with Java 7)
- Windows 7 64 bits

Why does xmark continue to freeze the browser on my macbook?

An "xmark" comment box, in extremely poor English continues to pop up when I open Firefox 4 on my Macbook, running osx 10.5.8.
It freezes the browser and will not allow any other actions - indicating that I am to close Firefox and restart it. When I do the same operation occurs and freezes the browser. I find no way to remedy this.
Additionally, all safety certificates come back as not safe, with a "Get me out of here" comment.

How can i set Adobe to open pdf from a secure website in the browser, it just pops up and asks to open save or download. we want it to just open the PDF directly in the browser with no popups, using IE 11

We are running Internet explorer 11 with the latest version of Adobe Reader.
have found when users login to a secure website and it has pdf links on there, it doesnt open these pdf directly in the browser, it wants to save them and then open them.
is there anything we can change to allow them to be opened directly in the browser?

JavaScript to Applet call freezes the Browser

Hi,
I am using javascript to applet communication to do some processing in my current project. The processing done in the applet is little heavy, whenever applet is processing the request, Browser freezes and user is not able to work with browser anymore. Even if you try to open new browser window its response is very slow.
Basically browser window is not able to refresh its contents and appears to be freeze to the user while the applet is processing the request.
is anybody faced this ( javascript to applet communication) problem earlier?
Any solution/workaround to this problem?

Thanks for your reply. whatever you have mentioned is correct. Applet is eating up the resources. But the problem is browser window is not getting refreshed appears
to be freeze.
Following are the details of the scenario
1) Browser opened with mutilple processing option to the user.
2) User selects some of them for processing and call process.
3) here we have used javascript call to send for processing to the applet .
Here javascript call to Applet, one by one getting processed.
4) Applet starts processing, displays that an options
are getting processed, please wait. ( here the window appears closes.)
5) Once the window is gone, the browser which was previously
opened is freeze . All the text and all are lost nothing is visible.
Applet is still processing further requests, for user the browser is freeze.
User try to open another browser window, Window opens up but it is
really slow.
How can we refresh the browser window?
javascript reload does not work as it tries to process the option again?
from applet we cannot refresh the Browser window...
Is there any way we can it?

Unresponsive script screen pops up constantly freezing the browser

It started when using the chat of Facebook but after also when playing it's games, that this screen "Unresponsive script" pops up constantly and the browser freezes till I click on the markers "Don't ask me again" and "Stop script"
This started to happen when I updated Firefox because this never happened before.
I loved Firefox but now it has become very annoying.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

When I open a document from a website in the browser a copy is saved automatically by download helper even if I just want to view.

When I click to view a word, excel, PDF or other file on a website I am presented with a window that says
"you have chosen to open ........etc What should Firefox do with this file?
Open with
Save file....."
If I choose the option "Open with" the file opens and I can view the file but the file is automatically downloaded and saved. I then have to navigate to the folder on my hard drive by right clicking on the item in the downloads window, selecting open containing folder and then physically deleting the file. If I don't do this then the containing folder saves the unwanted downloaded file.
Do I have a setting wrong/how can I stop Firefox/download helper from automatically downloading files I only want to view?

A new tab opens by default as a blank tab (about:blank).
If that isn't the case then an extension has changed that behavior.

I open FF and it logs into xmarks. The log in process freezes the browser and I must shut it via task mgr...reinstalled FF several times, haven't added new bookmarks in years so don't think it's overloaded w syncing that needs to happen

latest version of FF, fiddled with xmark controls, doesn't help. Not crashing out--freeze up, go into task mgr and close through end now msg that comes up. Sometimes I catch the "cancel" button (split second window of opportunity on that one) on xmarks and that'll let me in.

I had disabled ssh, thinking that maybe the high proc usage was making the system unstable. I successfully changed the password via AFP twice for one user on my machine. I had someone else do it and it immediately brought down the server. Same thing... I'm really at a loss as to what to do, can someone provide some insight? What logs can I look at for more information? Is there anyway to tell what's happening on the machine during these 10 minutes? The logs I've looked at show nothing.

You can try "Forget about this site" in the right-click context menu in the history side bar (Ctrl+H) after opening that site to get a fresh history item. You can click the View button and sort by last visited.

The file places.sqlite stores the history and the bookmarks in Firefox 3 versions, so there may be a problem with that file if you can't remove some history or bookmarks items.

I have a blank window on mozilla and it does not allow me to use the browser. It freezes the browser.

Have uninstalled and reinstalled three times but I cannot get rid of this, there is no writing and no x to close it. I have to go to task manager to close.

Keep music playing in the browser while switching to a new tab.

If I'm streaming music off a website in the browser using Pandora or some other service I cannot keep the music playing if I want to make a new tab and browse another site. The music will continue playing if I keep the browser in the background but I'd like to stream music and switch to a new tab within the browser and keep the music playing.

OS 1.0.7 has been reported to allow streaming to continue on one tab even if you are browsing another tab.
But it seems it does not work for YouTube streaming.

Why firefox 3.6 downloads all of the files again after restartarting the browser from a website if the "clear history when Firefox closed" is not Enabled?

We have a corporate website, we officially support FF3, FF4, IE8 and IE9. Our web site is quite big, so we really need browser caching, first time page load is around 15 seconds. With files in the cache getting new page is less than a second.
Everything works perfect except with FF3. With FF4, IE8, IE9 if we are on the website, clicking everywhere is fast, the page is in the cache. If we restart the browser, it is still fast, it loads files from the cache.
But with FF3 we have a problem. Every time we restart the browser, it is loading the files again from the server, instead of using the local cache (checked with Firebug). I can reproduce the problem anytime, it is the same with every FF3 instances. I double checked, the "clear history when Firefox closed" option is not enabled.
Could you advise please how to use the local cache either after browser restart?

Just read that the default memory storage on FF is set to 5 mbs. You can up that by clicking on tools, advanced and overriding the default and set it to 50 mbs (if you use lots of tabs) or 10 mbs (if you use just a few).
I open a blank tab and clear the cache periodically, while I am working. I can have several tabs open and watch videos on Youtube, by doing this. Have you cleared your cache?
Since I have an older computer, I've also used CCleaner for years. I use it often, but always before signing off. You can get it free...search for CCleaner, download from Pirifoam free. I didn't change any of the settings and it clears crap left behind from uninstalling programs, clears all browsers at once of: cookies, history, passwords, etc. I love it!
I had freezing, before using the "open blank tab, clear the cache" thing. Now I have no problems. Plus, as I said...you can change the default memory usage for FF and that should help too.

Videos (flash) freezes several times a minute for a few seconds but audio continues fine. Normal browsing also freezes the same way.

After watching more than one video (for example, on YouTube) my browser will "freeze" for several seconds. This happens about 3 or 4 times per minute while:
* watching another video, the video will freeze for several seconds, while audio keeps playing
* browsing other NON-video websites, the browser freezes for several seconds
* scrolling down a long web page the browser will freeze for several seconds; since I'm in the middle of scrolling, when it stops freezing I'm somewhere completely random on the page instead of being able to just smoothly scroll through the page
The only way I can get the freezing to stop is by closing down the entire browser (losing all of the sites I may have open for research, other videos I might have queued up to watch, etc.)
As you can well imagine, this is whole encounter is totally frustrating and annoying, and is making me want to try to find a better browser. I see that MANY, MANY other people have been having this problem, and yet I am still unable to find an actual solution. This was NOT happening before the last FireFox update.

Disable hardware acceleration.
Perform these steps:
*Click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
*In the Firefox options window click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select "General".
*In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
*Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.

When I try to read my rss-feed through yandex service, the browser and the whole system freeze for a significant amount of time. This started with Firefor 5 and is very unpleasant. Thank you in advance.

When I try to download (and especially renew) a page with my rss-feed that I read with Yandex service, the browser freezes, and then the whole system freezes. It typically takes about 5-7 minutes to load a very minimalistic page, and I can't use my browser or my system during that time.
This started with the release of Firefox 5. I use it on Ubuntu. I haven't experienced similar problems with any other websites.
I have already contacted the Yandex team about the matter.
I guess it's just a little weird that one of the Yandex services won't work in Firefox, as Firefox comes with a built-in yandex-bar in many cases. And it sure is frustrating.

When I set the content settings to block images and try to navigate certain sites, the browser freezes.

I can stop the browser from displaying images from websites by clicking on the Firefox icon, then clicking on Options from the drop-down menu, then clicking on options from the new drop-down menu, then clicking on the Content tab, and finally un-exing the box next to "Display images." Now the browser won't display images. But when I visit certain sites while in this mode, such as Yahoo! or Goodsearch, and try to navigate within these sites, I find that the browser has frozen up. There seems no way to unfreeze it except to press Ctrl+Alt+Delete, log off, log on again, and unblock images before proceeding further. How do I prevent this freezing problem?
