Javafx 2.1 Application UI Testing with javafx implementation.

Hi im new to javafx and to testing. A existing project developed in JavaFX 2.1 is requiring some automation implemented around the UI. Can anyone advise if JavaFX can be implemented within automation tools like QTP or Selenium?
Or perhaps advise is there are any existing tools on the market that we could leverage for our testing. Our goal would ideally we would like to keep testing costs to a minimum and use some open source tools.
Would appreciate any input from developers who perhaps have been working on existing projects in javafx that have automated solutions around them, if this is even available yet.

Automation testing with Mosaic

I have been trying to get automation testing to work with Mosaic. Is it possible to Composite Application Framework applications to work with automation?
I have compiled the automation libraries into my tiles. But I can't tell how to switch automation on within my application.

You've already taken the first step by compiling the automation libraries into your tiles. The next step to automate a complete mosaic application is to install and use the mosaic-debug-auto-pkg.zip which has the automation also compiled into the mosaic runtime. This package is not currently available publicly on packageshare for a couple of reasons: a) a bug in gravity (CCF) and b) a limitation in the flex sdk. The bug in gravity has been fixed and will be released shortly in an upcoming service pack. The flex sdk limitation is here: https://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/FLEXENT-1496 I believe the mosaic automation package will remain a special-request package even after the release of the service pack due to the complexity of automating a modular composite application.
Another technique you can consider is to use Selenium with an html controller tile. The html controller would use mosaic apis to send events and messages to the other tiles in the applicaiton. The individual tiles would be automated seperately for UI inputs, and then the system-level automation could use the selenium approach. This can be a simpler and more economical option, depending on your application's design and verification needs.

Waiting for Application Under Test and Xceed Contol Random mtm.exe hang

Can someone please advise as to why mtm.exe has basically become unusable to our QA team. More time is spent end tasking the application and rebooting than any good it is doing. We are consistently getting waiting for applications under test
(reason for this unknown) and the test runner locks up completely on any dynamic xceed control. We are using VS 2013.4

Best way to transfer application from Test Environment to Dev. Environment

Hi All,
We are try to create an application on Hosted Environment similar to www.apex.oracle.com.
We got two work space
1. app_production
2. app_test
My application will have 200+ tables and many other supporting object.
My question is in hosted environment what is the best way to copy application from test to production environment (P.S In hosted environment I can uses SQL Developer / TOAD or any other tool .. its similar to www.apex.oracle.com)
With my present workaround I have to use
Go to Utilites -> Generate DLL
and then export this and application..
The main problem is 200+ table and associated structures .. its very difficult to keep track ...

Just an idea:
1 - Do a DDL export of the source env
2 - Do a DDL export of the target env
3 - Use some tool to compare those files and highlight the differences. There are even some tools that are smart enough to generate SQL statements to apply the differences in the target env.

hello All,
After a system copy, when I try to schedule de backups in DB13 i got the following error:
DBM_GETF database instance not found
If I test the connection with DB in the DB59 transaction the following is displayed:

Unit tests with ant (FB4 beta)?

Since flexunit is integrated with FB4, I was wondering how to run unit tests with ant on FB4 (using 3.4 sdk). In my current ant build file, the <mxmlc> and <compc> tags both work but the tag <flexunit> does not seem to work anymore (it worked on FB3 with flexunit download). So is there anyway currently to run unit tests on FB4 using ant?

Let us take your requirements as separate two requriements.
1. Using the flexunit ant task - I think for this you needed a separate ant library to support this. So this may be missing in the ant available with FB. May be you can analyse this and add on your own and try out.
2. Debuggin the results.
Now FlexBuilder has the feature inbuilt as part of the IDE which provides more featuers like , source naviagation, rerunnig , saving results loading results etc.FlexBuilder uses its own set up to show the results details in IDE.
Currently other than using the feature in FB, there is no way to debug the results of the tests. However if you would like to get the tests to be run by ant task, and analyse the results, the following can be used.
Option 1 : Run outside FB, show and analyse results in FB
a. Use the FB, create some sample testCases in FB.
b. Use 'Execute FlexUnit tests' from the run, or debug launcher
c. Use the option Save configuration. This will get the configuration as xml or mxml file. You can use this file template and generate your test cases (may be you will configure your tests in a testSuite class and always use that as the input to the application, so that application syntax never changes). If you run the mxml created swf (whch you can do by the simple ant tasks which does not use the flexunit task ) out side FlexBuilder and if the FlexBuilder is open, you can still see the results in the FB and analyse the results. (You need the library which is used by the FB to use the classes. You can get the location of swc file by inspecting the library path of a project in which you have added the testCase or testSuite class using the FB IDE)
Option2:Run outside FB and Analyse the results in FB.
If you have the project for which you have run the tests, and you have the XML results of the run, you can still analyse the results in the FlexBuilder.
a. Ensure that the report is in the required syntax of FB. (we have tried to use the similar syntax as that of the JUnit resutl report)
b. Use FB, load your project, open the FlexUnit result view, use the open result option in the FB. This should load the XML in FB (we have only ensured to open the result files which were created using FB ,back in the result view. So if you are facing some issue in opening your XML, you can refer the required syntax by saving a sample run result from FB)
Option 3: Run and analyse the results in FB.
a. Have the input setup mentioned to FB. (If you would like to integrate changes, have a suite class which will take care of this and mention in the Execute FlexUnit tests to use this suite class. But there is no way to specify to run the FB commands outside FB.)
b. So whenever you would like to anlyse the tests, you need to run your test in FB and then analyse the results shown in result view.

Performance testing with PetStore

I'm going to make some performance tests with WebLogic 7.0 and Oracle 8.1.7.
Sun´s PetStore is some kind of basic web application. So I decided to use it for
test application. The PetStore isn´t the best J2EE application, but it suits for
this test just fine.
Has anybody already made database creation clauses or scripts?

The application "Dropbox - test" can't be opened -1712

I created two additional dropbox applications though Automator and they have been working fine with no problem along with my own normal Dropbox application. I have them all set to open on start up along with Google Drive so that they appear in the top bar on my Macbook Pro. They are also in the sidebar on Finder.
The problem i am having is that when i start up my Mac, my normal original Dropbox opens and syncs however the other two don't open. When i go to Applications and click on either of the two to open then i am getting the message - The application "Dropbox - test" can't be opened -1712.
I have been reading about this online and went to the Activity Monitor and forced quit these and they show up in red when i search for them. But then i still have no luck in opening them. I have allowed Applications to be opened from Everywhere in the System Preferences - Security section too.
Its very strange how i have had this working with no problems and then it suddenly stops.
Any help or suggestions anyone can give would be really appreciated.

Unit Testing with Microsoft Sharepoint Emulators and Fakes with Visual Studio 2013

I have created Test Project and now creating Test cases for Sharepoint. I found a link on MSDN which suggests using Fakes framework but it supports VS2012 and I am using Visual Studio 2013.
So how can I use it with VS2013 or is there any other way with which I can implement the Test cases with VS2013.

If you want to test using Fakes Framework, you can use the codeplex extension to achieve it. It supports Visual Studio 2013.

I am getting this error message when I open Safari. How do I make it go away? "Error Safari 6.0 (v8536.25) has not been tested with the plugin SplashId.bundle (null) (v6.0.4(. As a precaution, it has not been loaded. ?

When I launch Safari on my MacBook Pro

I am getting this message when I open Safari. How do I make it go away?

To Remove plug-in
1.) Open the SplashID desktop app
2.) Navigate from Menu bar "File" -> "Plugin for Safari" -> "Uninstall".
I could not find it in either Library/Internet Plug-ins nor ~/Library/Internet Plug-ins as others have suggested.

We are trying to get the Ebiz userid ,username,Responsibility ID and Application ID in ADF through below Code

By using this code I am Getting all the Information Except the Application ID.
If someone have any idea how to get the application ID please share it .

Hi,
since you implements the backing bean from PagePhaseListener. some where the same view is excuting before getting the selected record. Even if you select the record after excuteQuery() it will set the first record as selected. Please try to check some where query is excuting.
try give some more details like what are all the methods you are using in PagePhaseListener and where you worte u r coding.
