JavaFX trying to run java components off the applet host? (on mac only)

Does anyone know why my javafx applet is trying to access the likes of com/sun/java/util etc off the host that is hosting the applet.
The webserver just denies these requests and the applet crashes with something like java.util prohibited. Why is the applet doing this? It shoudl be getting the components from the client side?

I keep getting a message about UNC paths not being supported.  I could swear this that was working last week!!
I would simplify matters by running this command from a Console (cmd.exe):
\\ComputerName\c$\Java\bin\service\StopServerService.bat
Does it work?
What does StopServerService.bat contain?
What operating system do the two machines run?
Is UAC active on the remote machine?
After solving the problem at the console level you should get further advice from a VBA forum.

After getting the dreaded gray/blue screen, I tried to run disk repair on the internal disk. I got an error message saying "Disk Utility can't repair this disk and restore your backed-up files. The volume Macintosh HD could not be verified completely." What do I do now? This is an iMac and I'm running 10.6.8.

    Clean Install of Snow Leopard
Be sure to make a backup first because the following procedure will erase
the drive and everything on it. See below for how to clone a drive.
         1. Boot the computer using the Snow Leopard Installer Disc or the Disc 1 that came
with your computer.  Insert the disc into the optical drive and restart the computer.
After the chime press and hold down the  "C" key.  Release the key when you see
a small spinning gear appear below the dark gray Apple logo.
         2. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue
button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
After DU loads select the hard drive entry from the left side list (mfgr.'s ID and drive
size.)  Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.  Set the number of
partitions to one (1) from the Partitions drop down menu, click on Options button
and select GUID, click on OK, then set the format type to MacOS Extended
(Journaled, if supported), then click on the Apply button.
         3. When the formatting has completed quit DU and return to the installer.  Proceed
with the OS X installation and follow the directions included with the installer.
         4. When the installation has completed your computer will Restart into the Setup
Assistant. Be sure you configure your initial admin account with the exact same
username and password that you used on your old drive. After you finish Setup
Assistant will complete the installation after which you will be running a fresh
install of OS X.  You can now begin the update process by opening Software
Update and installing all recommended updates to bring your installation current.
Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.
You may be able to backup your data if you have an erased external drive you can use. Before you do the above but after you have opened Disk Utility you can try to clone your drive:
Clone using Restore Option of Disk Utility
      1. Open Disk Utility.
      2. Select the destination volume from the left side list.
      3. Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
      4. Select the destination volume from the left side list and drag
it to the Destination entry field.
      5. Select the source volume from the left side list and drag it to
          the Source entry field.
      6. Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
Destination means the external backup drive. Source means the internal startup drive.
Now this will only work if the drive is accessible and can be cloned by Disk Utility. Otherwise, you would need to access your drive from another Mac that you can connect via Firewire - Target Disk Mode.

  • Can i run a printer off the ethernet cable connection without hurting the imac or is the ethernet slot only for internet connection?

can i run a printer off the ethernet cable connection without hurting the imac or is the ethernet slot only for internet connection?

    Hi, Alan -
How can I connect to both printer (HP 4050n, via direct connection) and internet (via LAN), as my iMac has only one R45 port?
You can, but you'll need to expand your cabling a bit.
You'll need to get an intermediate ethernet hub, switch, or router. That device sits alone, with the Mac, your printer, and your modem/LAN plugged into it.
If you are already using a router, either separate or in combination with the modem (many modems have a built-in router), then you just need a hub or switch.
I use an ethernet switch (10/100/1000) to let both my Macs (a 2010 iMac and an elderly G4 DA model) use my HP4000n printer and my modem. The ethernet switch is a passive device, meaning there's no setup nor instructing it required - it's truly plug-and-play. All four items (two Macs, printer, and modem) are plugged into it via ethernet; both Macs have full-time independent access to the printer and the modem.

  • HT204019 Can I turn off the ringtone for one contact only?

Is it possible to turn off the ringtone for one contact only? The block feature won't work because I still want to be able to receive voice messages from this particular contact.

You can assign a silent ringtone to that one person. Google to find such a ringtone, sync it to the phone, assign the custom ringtone to this person and when they call, the phone will appear not to ring.

  • "Cancelled Opening the Page" when trying to run Java applet?

Hello just a quick question (I didn't know where else to ask) - I downloaded the Safari beta for Windows to try it out. So far so good, but one of the main sites I go to is a Java applet chat - I can load other applets just fine but for some reason this site keeps the gray cup Java icon and the status bar says "Cancelled opening the page". I've tried loading it as a tab, and as the only active window and the same thing happens; I'm unable to load the site. It works fine in other browsers - is this some issue with the beta?

Thank you all for your time and your help...everything is working great now :o)
Hope you all have a great day.

I've installed Forms Server in another Oracle home called 'dev6i'. I've the f60web.jar and 11 other .jar files in \dev6i\forms60\java directory. I've installed the forms server successfully (I can say this because I was able to run the test form successfully couple of times, until I installed reports server in the same Oracle home. Then it started giving this message in the java console). I've also installed Webdblistener. My reports test page is displaying correctly though. Any ideas what might have happened??
    Thanks

  • Running perl scripts off the preinstall script during a pkgadd

    Hello,
I'm trying to build a custom package (apache2 + mysql + php + other stuff) and get stuck on some stone wall that I can't figure.
Correct me if I'm wrong in my assumptions, and if able, could you provide a work around ? Here it is :
    - The preinstall script must be in /bin/sh , /bin/bash or any valid shell
    - Must be run by root, 'f course
Now.. As I'm not that strong on bash/sh scripting, I tried to call a perl script off my preinstall script. Somehow my preinstall script just never call the .pl .
This leads me to my third assumption :
    - It is impossible, not permissible to run other scripts from the preinstall script.
Basically the perl script checks for some users in /etc/passwd + /etc/group, checks for some directories, create a custom SMF manifest, etc etc . I pretty much want the .pl script to be run.
The script itself is well packaged, correctly inserted in the package's pkgmap, and so on.
    Any ideas ?
    Thanks,
    Jeff

  • Trying to run java program

I am trying to run a program called j perf, a graphical front end for iperf a network measurement tool.
when i type java jperf i get this error message
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError
    looking for assistance
    thanks

    Well,
I assume jperf is the name of you class that has the main method in it. If not then this is one problem.
If you application uses anything other than classes out of the standard Java rt.jar file then you need to specify the additional jar files in the classpath
    java -classpath myPackage.jar jperf
P.S. If you main class is called jperf maybe you should think of a better name with a bit of capitalisation.
IPerfGraphicalFrontEndMain maybe? OK it is more typing but using names that say what they are helps a lot in the end.

  • Trying to get to app "off" the desktop, clamshell to internal display probl

I'm only seeing this problem with one application but it's a problem.
For a while now I've been running in clamshell mode with my external display at a fairly high resolution. I had an application window in the far right hand corner of my screen where I could use it as needed. I shut down and am now working from the internal display which has a lot lower resolution.
When I invoke almost all the applications, they are smart enough to realize the reduced desktop resolution and open somewhere on the desktop. However there is on application that is trying to position in the same absolute position which means I don't get any access to that application. I know the app is there because if I scroll from one panel to another in Spaces, I see the application window go by.
Is there any way to "scroll off" the desktop to that position and drag the app window back to the current desktop? The only solution I found was to remember to move the application to some other place on the desktop before I stop using clamshell mode.
    Thanks

Just hold the app down until the all start to 'wiggle', then drag the app or apps you don't want from your home page to a new page.
You can't delete it, or any of the standard iPhone apps, but this gets them out of your way.

  • Trying to run java class files from my jsp

I am having difficulty running java files from my jsp. I have compiled my two java classes and inserted them onto my server in the webapps/WEB-INF/classes/scripting directory and have imported scripting.* into my jsp page. The files both compiled ok before the class files were loaded onto the server but when I rty to run the jsp from the server, I keep getting a compiler error. Thanks in advance
    Iob

    Here are the few question
    1) Does your java classes which u created is declared under package scripting. *.class files are to be places under the WEB-INF/classes directory only. Not under scripting. But if you java classes say are under a package called a.b. Then you need to put under classes\a\b\.

I think all system requirements are respected!
I have installed the package but when I try to execute "java", using "./java", it state that the file is not found, which typically means (when the file exists :D), that it is not compiled for the system in question. So, I have compiled a simple helloworld in C and compile it, to compare the output of the file command, between my program and the "java" executable:
    * a.out: ELF 32-bit LSB executable, ARM, version 1 (ARM), for GNU/Linux 2.6.12, dynamically linked (uses shared libs), for GNU/Linux 2.6.12, not stripped
         * java: ELF 32-bit LSB executable, ARM, version 1 (SYSV), for GNU/Linux 2.6.14, dynamically linked (uses shared libs), for GNU/Linux 2.6.14, not stripped
The only two differences are "version 1 (ARM)" or "version 1 (SYSV) - can it be the EABI? - and Kernel version 2.6.12 to 2.6.14.
Can someone help me understand what is the problem and if it can be solved by modifying my system (but not the kernel version)?.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
    forgot to state libc6 version = 2.7-18;
    and gcc version = 4.4.3
    thanks!
