Javahelp Search -- Failed to create URL from jar

When I attempt to use my search feature, I get the following message:
Failed to create URL from jar:file:C:\ulcpen10.jar!/ulcp.hs|C:/src/db/pubs/ulc/javahelp/cp-ulc-generatedid-55.html
Failed to create URL from jar:file:C:\ulcpen10.jar!/ulcp.hs|C:/src/db/pubs/ulc/javahelp/cp-ulc-odbc-tutorial-s-5132529.html
Failed to create URL from jar:file:C:\ulcpen10.jar!/ulcp.hs|C:/src/db/pubs/ulc/javahelp/cp-ulsynchronize-library-sesql.htmlpresumably, the files that were found in the search were:
cp-ulc-generatedid-55.html
cp-ulc-odbc-tutorial-s-5132529.html
cp-ulsynchronize-library-sesql.html
but it seems the URL being built is incorrect. I am building my search like so:
in the xml:
<view>
<name>Search</name>
<label>Search</label>
<type>javax.help.SearchView</type>
<data engine="com.sun.java.help.search.DefaultSearchEngine">
JavaHelpSearch
</data>
</view>
and in the java:
     _jhIndexer = new com.sun.java.help.search.Indexer();
     //outDir is the directory the help is compiled to -- defined earlier
     String searchName = "JavaHelpSearch";
     String args[] = new String[ 3 ];
     args[ 0 ] = "-db";
     args[ 1 ] = outDir + searchName;
     args[ 2 ] = outDir;
     try {
         _jhIndexer.compile( args );
     } catch( Exception e ) {
         e.printStackTrace();
     //addDirectory copies everything from ourDir/searchName to jar/searchName
     jarFile.addDirectory( searchName, outDir + searchName, null );Any ideas how to fix this?
Thanks,
Aarnott

Yesterday I met with the same problem with you, and I read the Javahelp_Guide for several times and today I solve the problem. I reply the topic and want to share the experience with friends.
First cofirm that you have created the html pages, .hs file, index file, TOC file, map file, and be sure they all work well. We assume you put the last 4 files in D:\HelpFile, and the html pages in D:\HelpFile\HelpPage
Now we come to the second step -- generate the Full-Text Search Database.
1. Open "Start" -> "Run" in windows, and input "cmd" command.
2. Switch to your help folder, here we assume it as D:\HelpFile
3. Find the path of the jhindexer in the javahelp\bin folder of the JavaHelp system release, e.g E:\JavaHelp\bin
4. Input the following command in cmd.exe you just open in step 1:
E:\JavaHelp\bin\jhindexer HelpPage
the command means to call the tool jhindexer to generate the Full-Text Search database for the html pages in folder HelpPage
5. you'll find a new folder named JavaHelpSearch generated in the current folder D:\HelpFile
6. Pack all the files in folder D:\HelpFile as a jar file and you can use it in your system
Note: 1. avoid asian character in your folder path, though there's no obvious reason but we should avoid possible error.
2. Full-Text Search need no programming in your program, just do it as the steps ibid.

  • Create UML from *.jar

    Hi,
    is there any freeware tool that can create UML from a simple .jar-file or a set of .class-files ?
    Cheers
    /Andreas

    er... that should be possible
    I know Enterprise Architect can do that with .java files... Just use some dumb decompiling tool for .class files, all you need for your UML diagrams is methods and fields, so the correctness of the implementations doesn't matter

  • Problem loading URL from .jar file

    I encounter problems while loading a MsAccess DB contains within a .jar file. This is the following codes I used,
    try
        Class.forName("sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver");
        java.net.URL url=getClass().getResource("MSAccessDB\\SavingApp DB.mdb");
        DBURL+=url.getFile();
    catch(Exception e)
    { System.err.println(e.toString()); }

    Could I ask that, if I stored the MsAccess or any other DBs, will the DB able to do basic operations (Create Update Retrieve Display)?
    As the DB is not like a normal Text file.
    What I did is that, I didn't include the MsAccess into the .jar file. I just put it beside. The disadvantage is that user ables to open the DB and might do some changes. ;-(

  • Failed to create LOGIN from a domain account on SQL Server 2012

    Hello,
    My environment is like,
    A Domian Controller (with the domain name: CONTOSO) hosted by a Windows Server 2008 R2.   --- Server 1
    A SQL Server 2012 x64 runs on another Windows Server 2008 R2 (this Server has been added into the CONTOSO domain).  --- Server 2
    I am trying to create a SQL login on Server 2 with the statement shown below:
    CREATE LOGIN "CONTOSO\domain_group_b" FROM WINDOWS;

    I've made sure that the domain group account "domain_group_b" has been created on Server 1.
    Is anything else needed to be done?

    Pretty pretty sorry for my bad explanation in English.
    Yes, the Server 2 (the actual name of this server is "SQL-A", the Server 1's name is "DC") has been a member of CONTOSO.
    I typo the domain name CONTOSO as CONTSO, but I keep using CONTSO everywhere.
    These two servers are hosted by Hyper-V.
    I could login on server2 by the domain user "domain_user_b".
    It seems that neither the domain group, "domain_group_b" nor the domain user, "domain_user_b" cannot be associated when creating a SQL login.
    SQL-A captures:

  • Disk Utility fails to create image from double layer DVD

    I burned a double-layer DVD using iDVD. It plays fine on the mac and on set-top DVD players. However, when I try to create an image of the DVD using Disk Utility, I get "Can't create image 'name.cdr' (input/output error)". I've tried re-burning the original disk, but it gets the same error when trying to create an image. I've also tried each of the image types, all with the same result.

    I was having similar problems, although I don't think my issues was related to a double-layer DVD. What worked for me was selecting File > New > Disk Image from Folder. Select the DVD in the file open/save dialog with the same options you used before (e.g., DVD/CD master, etc).

  • Photoshop CS5 fails to create HDR from Raw files; what to do?

    Now each time I try to install iTunes it says "Can not create path (listed above)" I try to open the folder it mentions, it freezes my compunter and makes it crash. Also, iTunes installer will says "Error code 2330. Fatal error while installing"
    That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
    XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
    Vista instructions in the following document: Check your hard disk for errors
    Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
    Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
    Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

  • SIU fails to create images

    Using SIU 10.6.7 on a machine updated to 10.6.8, trying to create a NetInstall image of a 10.6.3 Retail disc. SIU fails consistently, even after a reinstall of the server admin tools.
    This is what I get from the console log:

    Try setting the debug level to verbose in the SIU preferences. This should give more information about the failure in the run log for the image build.
    You should also be looking for the SIU logs instead of the console. They're in ~/Library/Logs (you access them through Console.app as well.)
    I've never actually seen the "Something didn't really work out here..." message occur. It means that SIU failed to communicate with its helper tool that builds the images.

    I was previously able to generate a types jar just fine from the web service's WSDL. Recently, I made some changes to the web service. Apparently, these changes to the web service now cause the WSDL to be unparseable when trying to generate types jars.
    Any ideas?

    The WSDL is generated from my web service. I made heavy revisions to my web service which, in turn, affected the resultant WSDL. The changes I made to my web service were almost exclusively related to object substitution. For example, prior to the change I was referencing object A from my web service; after the change, I was referencing object B. The objects that I'm referring to are XMLBeans, if that matters. I can't really describe it more than that without actually showing you the WSDL.
    I would post the WSDL file here to allow you to try to create a types jar out of it, but the WSDL exceeds the 30000 character limit for this field. There is no way for me to attach the WSDL to this post.

  • Failed to obtain/create connection from connection pool after redeploy

    I have a web application (.war) that uses a jdbc connection pool. The application works fine, however after I redeploy it using the administration console I get "Failed to obtain/create connection from connection pool [ Datavision_Pool ]. Reason : null" followed by "Error allocating connection : [Error in allocating a connection. Cause: null]" from javax.enterprise.resource.resourceadapter and I am forced to restart the instance. I am running Sun Java System Application Server 9.1 (build b58g-fcs)
    using a connection pool to a Microsoft SQL 2000 database using inet software's JDBC drivers. I need to be able to redeploy applications without having to restart the instance. Any help is appreciated.

    I have turned on some additional diagnostics and found out some answers and a work-around, but I think that there may be a bug in the way JDBC connection pool classes are loaded. The actual error was a null pointer in the JDBC driver class in the perpareStatement method. The only line in this method is "return factory.createPreparedStatement( this , sql );" and the only possible NPE would be if the factory was null, which should be impossible because it is a static variable and it is initialized when the class is loaded. The problem occurs because we deploy the JDBC driver .jar file within our .war file, for use when a client doesn't have or want to use connection pooling. Apparently, the connection pool must have picked up some of these classes and when the .war was redeployed, the reference to the factory was lost for existing connections (not sure how). If I remove the JDBC .jar file from the .war, it works, but that wasn't an ideal solution, the other way to get it to work was to change the sun-web.xml file to have <class-loader delegate="true">. We previously had it set to false in version 8.1 because of interference with a different version of the apache Tiles classes, which has now been addressed in version 9.1.
    I still think there is an issue, because the connection pool should never use the application specific classloaders. Am I wrong to believe this?

  • Trying to reinstall CS5.5 Master Collection from DVD media on Windows 7 64 bit - setup.exe fails due to msxml3.dll error PDApp message [FATAL] PIM - Failed to Create XML instance : DOMDocument40 ADXML::initWithXMLPath Error:80040154

    If anyone is able to solve this they are a genius (or I am doing something very stupid!)
    I am trying to reinstall CS5.5 Master Collection from DVD media on Windows 7 64 bit PC but setup.exe fails due to a msxml3.dll error.
    Following a big bundle of recent Windows 7 updates, I started getting 'bad image' msxml3.dll error messages when opening any CS5.5 master collection program (Eg Premiere / Photoshop / Illustrator / Dreamweaver). Following advice on some threads here I tried uninstalling and then using the Adobe CC Cleaner Tool to clean up install, then reinstalling from my original DVD media.
    Whenever I try using run setup.exe from installtion disc 1 the installing fails due to 'Missing files'. I have also tried dowloading trial versions and runing setup.exe fro mthe downloaded files but i still get the same message.
    I have searched the forum and others have experienced this error but none of the solutions I have found seem to be working for me - as many seem to relate to download installations whereas I am installing from original DVD media (which worked fine before on the same PC)
    These are the FATAL messages from the PDApp log

    12/11/2014 15:29:27 [FATAL] Setup - Unable to initialize. Error parsing setup.xml file
    The PDApp troubleshooting seems to indicate that this is caused by error in downloads but I am getting it with both original media DVD and downloads.
    I have also tried using my logon (which has admin privileges) and under our main admin account - and I get the same errors.
    Is a clean install of Windows 7 + CS5.5 my only option?
    Any help / info / advice / solutions very much appreciated! I have spent the last 2 days trying to sort this out and seem to be getting nowhere.
    Thanks.

    Thanks for the reply kglad - much appreciated.
    I have already tried that option (along with downloading files) as it was one of the solutions mentioned on other threads, but that also failed.
    Any other ideas?

  • Create links from URLs

    Hello !  i really hope someone can help me here.
    part of my job is to put magazines online. To do that, i work with all the pages combined together in one document (booklet).
    Then i click on Advanced ==> Create Links from URLs...
    Acrobat will locate, for me, all the wed addresses in all the pages of my document. It will find the "www." and pickup the rest to create the weblink.
    once this is done, i have to go through all the pages and create the links for the addresses that Acrobat DIDN'T find.  The ones that doesn't start with "www."
    •• The problem is that in most ads, the clients don't put the "www." anymore, so this is a lot of work for me, since i do this for 40 different magazines, and sometimes has 300 pages !
    i am looking for a way  for Acrobat to "recognize" the addresses that ENDS with ".com" or  ".ca"...
    ...so it would make my life easier  : )
    thank you, in advance, for your help  : )
    (i also speak french)

    I think you are going about the process backwards. The links should be placed into the document in the software used to create the original content. If the content was created in InDesign (for example) it is easy to put the links into the ID file, then you can export the pdf with links intact. Then you can use Adobe's advanced search capabilities to search for "www.", ".com", ".ca" and even ".mil". It might be possible to create a plug-in to do what you want, but assuming you are not a programmer, that would cost $.

  • Why does Create PDF from Web Page not work with certain URLs?

    I'm creating a large number of PDFs from Web Pages on Adobe Acrobat XI Pro and occasionally come across certain URLs that fail to generate a web page.  The process begins as normal but eventually the status window lists a few errors or canceled processes and that there are now 0 Connections Active.  This only occurs for certain URLs, but when it happens it consistently fails for that URL (as in trying it a few mroe times doesn't let it work).  Is there any specific reason this happens or a way I can prevent it?  The above example is of a URL that fails to generate a PDF :
    http://www.pcmag.com/encyclopedia_term/0,1237,t=access+point&i=37393,00.asp

    I tested this in Acrobat X and the exact same issue occurs
    http://www.quantumdynamix.net/clients/image-map-test/ImageMapTest-AcrobatX.pdf
    This has to be considered a legatimate bug, especially since IMAGE MAPS is listes as one of the supported HTML features via the help files
