Javascript Calculator no longer works in FF. Other browsers OK.

I have a javascript calculator that has suddenly stopped working in FF. I have upgraded from 3.5.8 to 3.6.3 but no changes. IE, Safari, Chrome and Opera all work fine.
Calculator can be found at http://www.hydrastop.be/hprodCalc.html

I see that the answer that I posted yesterday got lost by restoring a forum backup, so I'll repost my answer.
I see that you have already applied the change that I had suggested.
You need to use document.getElementById.
See https://developer.mozilla.org/en/DOM/document.getElementById
<code>function doMath() {
var one = eval(document.theForm.elements[0].value);
var two = eval(document.theForm.elements[1].value);
var m2 = Math.round(one * two);
var m3 = Math.round(one * two);
var maxhstopqty = Math.round(m2 / 5);
var minhstopqty = Math.round(m2 / 8);
var minhblockqty = Math.round(m2 / 5);
var maxhblockqty = Math.round(m2 / 3);
document.getElementById('squareMeters').innerHTML = m2;
document.getElementById('squareMeters2').innerHTML = m3;
document.getElementById('minhstopReq').innerHTML = minhstopqty;
document.getElementById('maxhstopReq').innerHTML = maxhstopqty;
document.getElementById('minhblockReq').innerHTML = minhblockqty;
document.getElementById('maxhblockReq').innerHTML = maxhblockqty;

  • Is the website myfitnesspal no longer compatible with you? It won't allow me to log in but works with ALL other browsers. I've done troubleshoot. Didn't work.

    Yesterday I had problems with the website Myfitnesspal.com. I have a tab set to automatically open when I start the browser every day. I could not log any information into the site, so I tried a log off and log on. It won't let me log on to the site. I contacted, myfitnesspal and we worked through many trouble shooting steps. I also tried all the troubleshooting steps from your site. I even did a complete shutdown and start up of my computer. Nothing has fixed this problem. I had the same issue with a couple of store I like to browse. The store site are finally working after more than 6 months of frustration. Myfitnesspal works on ALL other browsers. So with everything that has been tried and done, the problem seems to be on your end somewhere. I am running Windows 7 Professional, 32 bit.
    I really hope that this can be fixed because the website displays best on your browser. Should you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email me.
    Thank you for anything you can do to fix this and for your time.

    Sometimes, sites divide their content and login logic over multiple servers. In that case, the sites may not recognize that you have logged in if you block third party cookies. Can you check your cookie settings, as described in this article: [[Websites say cookies are blocked - Unblock them]].
    During your earlier troubleshooting, did you try the site in Firefox's Safe Mode to rule out an extension as the potential culprit? More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
    You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using
    Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled ''(Flash and other plugins still run)''
    In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Reset)
    Any difference?

  • The JS statement document.getElementsByName("PME_data_myfield").item(0).outerHTML=""; is not executed in FF, it works on all other browsers

    I am trying to remove an input element from a form with the above statement in a javascript. It works on all other browsers but not on FF. It does not generate an error either. Instead of removing the item it just seems to be ignoring the statement.
    I remove the element with the above statement and then re create a new one with document.createElement. In FF it duplicates the element.

    Firefox only supports innerHTML and not outerHTML, so you need to use other code for Firefox.

    Might be an incompatible extension or plugin ...
    Try troubleshooting Safari extensions and third party plugins.
    From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test. If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.
    If it's not an extensions issue, try troubleshooting third party plug-ins.
    Back to Safari > Preferences. This time select the Security tab. Deselect:  Allow all other plug-ins. Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
    If that made a difference, instructions for troubleshooting plugins here.

  • Firefox twitter site has random "x" text, works fine in other browsers. I cleared cached and history to no effect, what can I do?

    I recently re installed Windows 7 OS into a new hard drive while copying over my "appdata" folder to the new drive to maintain my old computer settings.
    Ever since I started using the new OS, I believe I started to have trouble with the twitter website which only loads garbled, random text, like the following:
    "}k$ǑN7_-ZRh]];UͪypwJwɀaCyzPEQ4S*$_FAg6/8"3١LJpg+#"#"##"}s/^Ww+oj^YXJ-ʒ\P)MRνQ}Cxg+)1-:QF=U=6^ȔUc<öTE-Z@u2xVGӚbRUb&UBYބxl\ŰMG#C34Ǟt47UDTRFsE1 k_qW g1VVL:++XgclhteD@G;.9GuY 2㚢5e҂mׁ] jʬ15@A])6 iMsltdR tHu$ghG\C?TdMތjж52asbGcρ;8M:rJ23ܛ́chw8LjSvvM9m':6-ك35'#"fmKX2NtÝxKzV4pbueP%bu:ƈN}ҷF#NMy"
    More recently I started getting this with google search which is even more annoying due the frequency I use that (like trying to troubleshoot this problem). However, I managed to fix that by following the help suggestions here for the google site:
    http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/websites-dont-load-troubleshoot-and-fix-errors?redirectlocale=en-US&redirectslug=Error+loading+web+sites
    However, nothing manages to fix the twitter website which works fine with other browsers, such as Chrome.
    Is there a way that I can fix the issue?

  • "prev"and "next" buttons no longer work on Yahoo/other slideshows. Still work in Chrome.

    In updating for FFX 6 and 7, the next and prev buttons no longer work in slideshows on Yahoo news and similar sites. Sometimes the status bar shows the links as javascript: void or :null. Sometimes longer links. All javaconsole add-ins are shown as incompatible with these version of FFX.

    i woudnt suggest it, but if your warranty is up it could just be a bad connection from the wheel...what generation do you have? my 4th generation 20 gig ceased to function and it was because somehow one of the cables had a bad connection. i took it to the apple store and they gave me an estimate for something i wasnt willing to pay on a 2 year old ipod so i just winged dissasembleing it and after taking apart the whole thing and reassembling it worked fine.

  • "Facebook Will Be Back Soon" only in Firefox. Facebook works fine in other browsers.

    I have rebooted my computer twice, ran my anti-virus, reset Firefox to default, deleted cookies and cache. Facebook, and only Facebook, is still no longer working with Firefox.

  • Firefox slowness issues have been getting worse, when is it going to be re-coded? none of the "FIXES" ever work and my other browsers work just fine.

    My frustrations with firefox continue to mount. All the supposed fixes are a waste of time. There is obviously a major code problem that needs to be addressed. Your solutions that you post just seem to be the same and never work. Users are not programmers and should not be expected to do your troubleshooting. I have been running a comparison lately using four different browsers to play a popular facebook game (Trainstation). (All browsers at the latest version)
    1. Firefox
    2. Internet Explorer
    3. Google Chrome
    4. Opera
    to do the exact same thing in the game firefox was taking 20 to 30 seconds to complete (about half of the time completely freezing for several minutes.) where the next slowest browser (I.E.) was taking 2-3 seconds whilst opera was the fastest at almost instant, chrome almost as fast.
    Firefox is also slow to load any page in general regardless of flash content.
    Frequently I get "not responding" at the top of the window.
    My system is a new Dell Inspiron with Intel Core I5 processor @ 2ghz and 6GB Ram, about 300GB free hard disk space. Windows 8.1
    The game played requires the latest flash version which does not work on LINUX. However the linux firefox version is much faster. Perhaps there is a direct link for conflict with windows 8.1
    Firefox also seems to have a memory leak, resources get dramatically worse if the browser is open for many hours. (this is not a problem with other browsers in general, except I.E. which exhibits this problem as well to a lesser degree. The freezing issue has also been a problem with Thunderbird lately as well, I do not have another e-mail client installed to compare to.

    I have tried that already, I have seen that response in more than one forum in the past and it does not do anything. I also for the test of it, upgraded to the v29 beta version. Still is slow (not just the game i was playing which is on face book but also on the game developers site directly as well (http://portal.pixelfederation.com/trainstation/), using either does not matter as far as performance of the game. All sites and browsing is slower, as is startup loading my home page which is just google.com. I remember when firefox used to be blazing fast compared to others. I have also tried recreating a new profile, didn't help. tried a complete removal (including registry entries and all files, then a new fresh install, didn't help. someone on another forum suggested several tweaks in the about:config area, didn't help. something has changed dramatically in the last four or five versions. • Can't click on certain options like log-out, that are usually located at the top of a website. They are frozen, and firefox doesn't allow me to click on them. It works fine with other browsers.

    For example, if when I use hotmail, I cannot click on the options that appear in the upper portion of the page. Example, "menu" "help" "log-out". Same thing happens to facebook, so i can't see my notifications, or log out. When i try to click on them, nothing happens. I tried using facebook and hotmail with other browsers, and it works fine. I don't understand why i can't click on certain things with firefox. I haven't recently made any changes to firefox, and it is the lastest version. I also tried uninstalling, and installing again, but it didn't fix the problem.
    '''If I run firefox in safe mode, with all the add-ons turned of there are no problems. '''

    laderamacguy took a look at it and added a black shape over the tab. he suggested i use a different template next time, such as the black template.

  • On Mac with Firefox 4, apostrophes in the text are not handled right. The page works well on other browsers.

    See www.researchintegration.org/lynn-home.htm, "Queen's" on third line under "Education."
    Also www.dsescale.org, in the paragraph starting with "Religions", Firefox 4 is not handling the umlauted "u" in "Arndt Bussing".
    These pages have always worked right in other versions of Firefox. As far as I know both of these locations are coded with proper HTML.

    That is a problem with detecting the encoding properly. You can change that manually to View > Character Encoding > Unicode (UTF-8) or try the Auto-Detect > Universal setting.

    bgcolor='black' ShowControls='true' showtracker='1'
    ShowDisplay='1' showstatusbar='1' videoborder3d='0' width="320" height="240"
    src="video.wmv" autostart='1' designtimesp='5311' loop='0'>
    </EMBED></nowiki></pre>
    Also tried showcontrols=1

    I had this exact problem too. Unlike IE, firefox wasn't scaling the video to fit into the height and width I defined. As a result the controls were disappearing off the bottom.
    I found that by making the height of the window 50px larger than the videos native height, the controls were displayed permenantly. Since the other browsers scale the video to fit the window, this solution works for them all.
