JavaScript File calling JavaScript File

How can I make a JavaScript function in a file call another JavaScript function in another file ?
I am currently achieving this by specifying both JS files in the ApEx page header,
but this is a clumsy approach and I am hoping that someone can tell me of a better method
ApEx Button ==> helloWorld1.js ==> helloWorld2.js

Hi,
In order to use any javascript function, it must be loaded by the browser. This can be done by either linking the js file or creating the function directly on the page within SCRIPT tags. Once loaded, any function can be called by any other LOADED function or by a event handler (for example, an onclick on a button). It is possible to create new functions after the page has loaded, but this is rarely done.

How to call a method written in user control (ascx file) from javascript

I have one scenario where I need to call a method written in user control (.ascx.cs file) from javascript (ascx file). I tried below code but it is not working, I found later it works only for aspx or asmx file , is it true ??

yes that is true, ajax calls can only be made to an endpoint like aspx pages/web service, basically anything that can return a http response etc. User Control can be embedded inside of aspx pages.

You are NOT advised to do this in APEX... Running VBScript is a VERY BAD IDEA and can open your users up to MANY NASTY things... What exactly are you looking to do here??

Trying to load a javascript link from text file into a dynamic textfile

Can anyone help me with this problem? Im trying to load in a
newsfeed from freshcontent.net into my text field. If i put this
javascript link on an html page, the page shows correctly, which is
im supposed to get 3 dynamic links with news content headlines.

Now, i cannot get this same type of display behavior in my
text field if i just paste into my text file the javascript link
thats supposed to bring up the 3 headlines. It is my understanding,
that flash cannot do this without some sort of specific
actionscripting, that involves asfusion, and/or externalInterface.

well sorry there fanmap - but I don't think you're going to
be able to get this to work. here's why: the link points to a php
file - which gathers dynamic info from a DB - the return from the
php is generating a string that is based on the DOM and
'constructs' a javascript method that in turn writes to the html
document. although we can embed html into a textField in Flash
there are a limited number of supported html tags - and JS methods
will not operate internally. in addition, (i'm not certain someone
correct this if i'm off) there's no way to 'change' the output of
the php call, therefore you will not be able to read the return
because it is designed to use the DOM and write solely to the
current document. Even if you were to access the JS method from the
swf file (which one can) it will still only write the content of
the php return to the html document - and the output is not
compatible with the textField class.

Uncaught Javascript Exception during create file phase of Merge to HDR Pro.

I am trying to create an HDR file from several large merged panoramas, and everything seems to go very well whichever options I select until the point comes when photoshop tries to create the final file. The individual layers of the HDR are 40188x6848 and saved as PSB files, when loaded they fill the entire 8Gb of memory in my machine.
I am using Windows Vista 64, my graphics card is unsupported and so turned off, I have photoshop setup to use 3 scratch disks, and it appears to be using around 40Gb on the first one and none on others.

Per my private message, the "uncaught JavaScript" exception is something we've seen and have yet to determine a cause or solution.
Would you please try the following.
• Do you have following Preferences > Interface settings ON? If they're OFF, does it work if you turn them on?
   - Open Documents as Tabs
   - Enable Floating Document Window Docking
• Does Merge to HDR work for you at all with smaller files (such as those in the sample set inside the application folder for CS5)?
• Do other scripts work for you, specifically...
   - File > Scripts > Load Files into Stack... ?
   - File > Automate > Photomerge...?

The HDR screen image preview going black is a known issue related to low-system memory conditions that we have been working on a solution for.
In the meantime, the workaround would be to lower Photoshop's memory usage from your current (72%) down to as low as (50%).

Hi,
You can pass the image url as a href attribute=> file:///Users/me/Documents/my_pic.jpg directly within your xml. It just needs that you pass a local, static and valid url.
If you want to add image later once the xml is flowed and so target specific nodes and inject images, it's a bit more complex. If the node is not part of the layout, you may try to reach the XMLElement objet and such an attribute, then layout the element.

If already placed, then you have to get the associated pageItem, then place your file into it.
pagItm.place ( File ( "/Users/m/Documents/my_pic.jpg" ) );

JavaScript To Save A File In Adobe 8?

Can anyone show me a sample JavaScript to save a file in Adobe 8?
I tried using "Execute a menu item
File>Save"
but it doesn't seem to work in adobe 8.

Adobe does not consider this a 'safe' menu item and has removed from the list of menu items that can be executed. There is more information available in Acrobat JS API Reference.

Javascript to upload a file to SharePoint 2010 document library

Please share your ideas. I am using SharePoint 2010. Currently when uploading files to a document library, first the upload form is opening to upload the document and then the edit form. I would like to have both this in the same form. I am trying to
create a webpart page with the controls to upload the file to document library and assign values to the fields in the library. I am looking for some javascript for doing this. Is there any other way of achieving this? Please share any sample
