JavaScript issues under mx:HTML

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to create an login form in HTML and focus() on one field when the page loads. The problem is that when you load the page in the mx:HTML element, the JavaScript code doesn't work. Any help is appreciated!
Thanks,
Lucian

Hi Lucian,
We looked over your application and that indeed there is a problem but is related strictly to focus() on the HTML element (confirm that you can load other JS code and that this is related strictly to a focus issue). It seems that there is an issue with focus() that is done for an HTML element from an HTML page that is loaded in a Flex app within an HTMLLoader (the same HTML file loaded in AIR JS/HTML app does not reproduce the issue). We will log a bug and investigate this.
Thanks for reporting,

  • How to bring Login.jsp under a html frame ?

    hi all.
    I have customized the Login.jsp and actually have lot of static content to be displayed in our proposed entry page.
    I decided to use Html frames - something like the one below.
    When i point on the frame to the Login.jsp ( i referred it as 'amserver/UI/Login') --> it loads all frames then redirects the page to the /amserevr/UI/Login -> the Login.jsp now occupies the entire screen and i c none of the html frames..
    any idea how to bring in the portal Login.jsp under a html frame ?
    Thanks
    Vee
    <html>
    <frameset noresize="noresize" frameborder=0 rows="25%,70%,5%">
    <frame frameborder=0 noresize="noresize" src="/amserver/UI/Login" name="banner_frame" scrolling=no>
    <frameset frameborder=0 noresize="noresize" cols="30%,70%">
    <frame frameborder=0 src="./images/menus.gif" name="menu_frame" scrolling=no>
    <frame frameborder=0 src="./images/content.gif" name="content_frame" scrolling=no>
    </frameset>
    <frame frameborder=0 src="./images/copyright.gif" name="copyright" scrolling=no>
    </frameset>
    </html>

    is it possible to write jsp code or javascript code inside this Login.jsp ?
    I got a bunch of content - menu driven to displayed additional to the identity server login module.

  • Web Engine image/javascript issue

    Just a note on an issue found in my gallerypage webengine with LR4 Beta.
    The gallery uses javascript scrolling and I found this to be broken in the LR internal preview (using the new APE), it is all OK when exported or previewed in a browser.
    (on OSX) - Console messages such as -
    [HTML Trace]: ReferenceError: Can't find variable: oScroll
    [HTML Trace]: doscroll at http://app-storage:52001/javascript/whscroll.js : 96
    [HTML Trace]: scroll at http://app-storage:52001/javascript/whscroll.js : 90
    [HTML Trace]: onmouseover at http://app-storage:52001/index.html : 192
    It looked like the windows.onload functions in the js were not happening.
    Tracking back from the gallerypage.html I found - background: url(../images/mailrule.gif) 0px 0px no-repeat; in CSS was causing the issue and was down to the mailrule.gif  file missing from the images folder.
    (was OK with LR3 but webkit in LR4 borked! and caused issues with javascript running in the webengine)
    I suspect that images referenced from CSS when previewed within LR must exist in appropriate path or APE (webkit) may choke…
    Also with another prototype webengine where the generated index.html uses an included html file as part of the page the same problem was happening but the image files did exist in the images folder however I think that being referenced from an included part of code causes a problem with the internal preview using APE - again everything OK with browser preview or exported galleries.
    As a workround I have noticed that if the images in the included code are of the Base64 data URI embedded type then the webengine will work just fine - I used a Base64 Firefox plugin to generate the data URI's - works great!
    I will maybe need to provide the embedded images on the included code when in Preview Mode only to cater for APE  - just a bit of monkeying around unfortunately but glad to have the internal preview back.
    Now back to my 2 year old problem of using an array list from the galleryInfo.lrweb in the albumgrid page (it broke after LR2!)

  • Same issues under 10.5.2 perhaps more.

    Still having the same issues under 10.5.2. Graphical artifacts (desktop/dock/frontrow) and the odd disk permission repairs reports. I did a clean (erase and install) of leopard and updated to 10.5.2 with the combo update. Is this a ATI driver issue? Never had any of this under Tiger. Is there anything in addition I should do to try and correct these things? or just wait for further updates from apple/
    Thanks.

    Video out under 10.5.2 works fine for me and for a colleague of mine with a more recent MacBook Pro. I'd wager it's a problem with your Leopard install, not a universal one.
    Also, FYI, Apple doesn't read these forums; they're just for user-to-user help. If you want to leave MacBook Pro feedback for Apple, do so here:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/macbookpro.html
    But again, I do not believe yours is a universal issue. We'll be happy to help troubleshoot though. What do you mean the image is "unstable"? Could you take a digital photograph of the external monitor's screen and upload it somewhere?

    Are you on-premise, or on-line? : It's on-premise
    Can you reproduce it on-demand, or is it sporadic?: It's sporadic
    There is a mention of loading an iFrame in the error, do you have iFrames on the form that generates this error?
    It's not on specific forms, so can't identify that. Yes we have iframes on some forms.
    Does it happen on any/all entity forms, or specific ones?  Do the entity forms have any custom JavaScript on them?
    It's not on specific forms. And yes we have javascript on almost all forms.
    Do you have any network problems or slowness in your network? Does the problem happen when the network is busy?
    We need to check this on next occurrence.
    Do the users that see this error have any unusual add-ins or toolbars in their browser?  This is not for specific user. Its happening for all randomly.
    Have you tried other browsers like Chrome or FireFox and do users see the problem there as well?
    We need to check only for IE.

    I see an pdf and flv file in the image list, remove them.
    Rewrite the code of your loading bar into one solid procedure which can be called from image loaded so you end up with three functions:
    loadImage
    imageLoaded
    displayProgressBar
    Maybe it's simpler not to display a progressbar but to display a text like XX loaded from XX images.
    I can't possibly write all the code for you but to adjust the loading bar use the image object instead of html code....
    preloadingImg = new Image();
    preloadingImg.src = "img/dot.jpg"   //whatever your preloader img is
    //To place your loading bar somewhere in the document:
    parentElement.addChildNode(preloadingImg);   //where parentElement is the container of the preloader image ( a DIV tag or whatever)
    //to adjust the width and height
    preloadingImg.height = someHeight + 'px';
    preloadingImg.width = someWidth + 'px'
    Another alternative is indeed use jQuery.

  • Issues "Importing Fireworks HTML"...

    Howdy!
    I am creating a website in Dreamweaver CS3, and I am currently having some issues importing Fireworks HTML.
    Here's some background information with my project...
    I began with creating an HTML template in dreamweaver. I then created a Fireworks project with an Image Swap and a drop down menu. I then exported the Fireworks project into HTML (which I used the "Use CSS for Popup Menus" option in the export options). After I use the "Import Fireworks HTML" on my Dreamweaver template in Dreamweaver CS3, the popup menus from the fireworks HTML is placed in very odd positions on the template.
    Here are a few pictures to show you what I mean:
    This is the exported Fireworks HTML all by itself, in the correct positioning...
    This is what it looks like after I use the "Import Fireworks HTML" option in Dreamweaver...
    Anyway, in the second picture you can see that I have multiple icons, and these icons also have Fireworks-created popup menus. When I import these separate Fireworks-HTML-created icons individually, it is a non-issue.
    Is there a workaround for this issue? Or is this the first time anybody has seen this??
    Any answers would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks all!!

    How can i call a javascript function in an html page were my flash catalyst swf is?

    I think you will need to import the catalyst fxp into flash or flash builder and add action script to invoke the javascript.

    </html:image>That's what I'm using to display the buttons on both pages and the functionality works. Next up is the basic CSS I'm using for the image rollover effect...
    For the submit button...
    #sButton {
    display:block;
    width:100px;
    height:100px;
    background-image:url(submitImage.jpg);
    background-repeat:no-repeat;
    #sButton:hover, #sButton:active {
    background-image:url(submitImageHover.jpg);
    background-repeat:no-repeat;
    For the map button...
    #mButton {
    display:block;
    width:100px;
    height:100px;
    background-image:url(mapImage.jpg);
    background-repeat:no-repeat;
    #mButton:hover, #mButton:active {
    background-image:url(mapImageHover.jpg);
    background-repeat:no-repeat;
    }And that's basically it. So as you can see, I'm using the <html:image> to give myself a submit button type thing which works perfectly in both cases. To try and make it have a rollover image effect I'm setting a styleId and then in my CSS declaring a default image and then a hover/active image. Back in the <html:image> tag, for the required src attribute, I've just got a spacer.gif which is a 1 x 1 image that is 100% transparent.
    The effect, at least in the Gecko based browsers I've tried, such as Firefox, is that you don't see the spacer.gif even though it is there, and all you see are the CSS background images which changes on hover. This even works in IE7.
    My problem... Internet Explorer browsers prior to 7 aren't doing the image rollover. The buttons still work, but I can't get the image to change just using the CSS... Any tips on a way to still use this method or to still use <html:image> but to use some sort of javascript solution?

    Thanks for all the quick help on this one... I got it to work just like I was hoping.
    bodhi-firestarr... You got me thinking and so I went and tried to search for a way to use that particular javascript method with the <html:image> tag. This brought me to the solution that I could use styleId just like an id and then getElementById in the javascript.
    Unfortunately, this only partially solved my problem... It made the submit button work through both CSS and JavaScript, but my map it button still wasn't working. My map button is inside of a loop generating a button for a set of results. If I used the getElementById method it would use the same id for each one causing problems. When I tried to add some sort of index to the end of the Id to fix this, it messed up my CSS, but that's when...
    gmachamer, you came up with just the solution I needed. I had no idea property actually translated to name. Once I knew this I was able to use property and got everything to work.
    Thanks again everyone!

  • Uploading javascript file under static files

    We uploaded the javascript file under static files. By default the mime type is "application/octet-stream". We are accessing this js file in our application however this is not working.
    Is this because the mime type is "application/octet-stream"?
    Please let us know how to change the mime type to javascript.

    Actually, we were having the same problem and determined it to be an IE bug. If we upload the .js file using Firefox, it saves as the correct mime type, x-javascript. If we use IE8, it gets uploaded as octet. Because of this, Firebug did not recognize the file, we got the following error: "the resource from this url is not text: " with the link to the uploaded file. Hence, none of the functions included in the file worked in our application.

  • Links2 -g javascript issue [solved]

    I installed the community build of links2 -g as my backup web browser and to view html files on my computer.  The web site describes javascript capability and their manpage indicates a setup box for adjustments.  The PKGBUILD in ABS indicates that it should be compiled in?  not sure about this. (I'm new)  There is no setup box for javascript under setup and when I go to a website that definitely has javascript I get the "please enable or switch browser messages".  I checked with Firefox/Noscript enabled and it reported the same message until I gave permissions.
    Is this feature turned off due to security issues? Can I reset something in ABS to rebuild with javascript enabled?  Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    javascript was listed as buggy on website.

    I am seeing some similar weirdness in manually created tabular forms using apex 3.2 and 4.01. I have an order form where the f01 .. f09 items get saved in a collection when the user hits the next button (collection is truncated then rebuilt using ...add_member). If they go back to the tabular form with the previous button the quantity entered for a particular row in the form gets moved down to the next row. You can hit next and previous and it will keep on happening. Eventually the quantity entered will cycle through all the html rows and back to the top. It does not happen with IE 8, FF 3.6 or Chrome. It is like the fXX items are not properly sequenced in the html form. I have spend hours trying to figure this out to no avail. The only variable is FF 4. I've tried 5 different themes. No luck.

  • OBIEE 11g: Dashboard Javascript Issue

    Hi Gurus,
    We have upgraded obiee from 10g to 11g and finding issues with javascript in a dashboard.
    Functionality: There are some custom labels showing prompt values in it with large font. When user change prompt value and Apply, it should change the value of those text as well.
    In 10g its running fine, but in 11g its not happening after we change the value of prompts. I found the following Javascript is responsible for this functionality. Even I saw one thread to suggest the exactly same code, but in 10g.
    <script type="text/javascript">
    (function(){
    var tblTag = document.getElementsByTagName('table');
    var tdElem= document.getElementsByTagName('td');
    for(m=0;m<tdElem.length;m++){
    if(tdElem[m].className=='GFPSubmit'){tdElem[m].childNodes[0].tBodies[0].rows[0].cells[0].childNodes[0].childNodes[0].innerHTML='Run Report';
    }//close if statement
    }//close for loop
    }// close function clickVal()
    </script>
    Thread:
    Change Go Button Text on Prompt Only
    I need to understand what its actually doing? and Does it really work in 11g? Whats the alternative code?
    Thanks in advance.

    In 10g these are the html objects, after upgrade you need to know the html objects for that report based on that you need to modify javascript code.
    From given code, activity is doing on these objects; You need to find out the equivalent object name for 'GFPSubmit' in 11g.
    GFPSubmit
    table
    td
    If make sense mark

  • JAVASCRIPT ISSUE (i realize this is a java forum not J.S.) URGENT!

    Hello,
    First off I realize this is a java forum and not Javascript so if you are do not know Javascript ignore this thread. I posted it here because Ive used this before and help is often prompt. However, If anyone out there knows javascript would you be willing to help me real quick on a function issue that i cannot seem to solve? It would be greatly appreciated! I am trying to add a pop up box that displays an error message when they enter the wrong format. For ex. the proper format is 3 letters followed by 3 numbers (INF334). If they enter something such as (INFD334) I want a J.S. pop up box to display and have them try again. I cant seem to figure out where I need to include this within my function I created though. Can someone please help! Here is my function:
    function addCourses(arguments) {
      //Declare Variables
           var class = "-", grade = "-";
           fieldValue = document.InformationForm.CoursesTaken.value;
            if(arguments == null || arguments == '') {
           //Prompt user for input, validate input
             while(!class.match(/[A-Z]{3}[0-9]{3}/) && class != 0 && class != '' && class != null) {
                     class = prompt("Enter a Course ID. Ex. INF110", "");
           else {class = arguments;}
      //Checks for valid Grade Letters including Withdrawals
           while(!grade.match(/[A-DFW]{1}/) && grade != 0 && grade != '' && grade != null && class != '' && class != null && class != 0) {
              grade = prompt(" Enter The Grade Letter Earned. Ex. A B C D F W", "");
           if(class != "" && class != null && grade != '' && grade != null && grade != 0 && class != 0) {
                  document.InformationForm.CoursesTaken.value = fieldValue + "" + class + "\t" + grade + "\n";
             newGPA(grade);
             classCount();
    }//END addCourses Function

  • Call PDF Javascript Function from External HTML Document

    Greetings,
    Forgive me if this information has been posted previously - I've searched quite a bit and haven't quite found anything specific or similar.
    We have LiveCycle Designed forms, and are including the Form in an IFRAME within an HTML page.  From there, we would like to be able to call one of the functions we've added to the LiveCycle form.
    So for example,
    <HTML>
    <HEAD><TITLE></TITLE>
    <SCRIPT type="text/javascript">
    function CallFunc()
    window.PDFFrame.TestFunc();
    </SCRIPT>
    </HEAD>
    <BODY>
    <iframe src="MyPDFFile.pdf" width="100%" height="100%" name="PDFFrame" id="PDFFrame"></iframe>
    </HTML>
    The "window.PDFFrame.TestFunc()" is where I'm running into issues.  I have tried to use PDFFrame.xfa.etc, and PDFFrame.document.etc, but I'm not sure of the appropriate method to access this PDF Document's functions.
    I do have a "TestFunc()" defined (tested and working) in the PDF document (designed in LiveCycle).
    Any advice is much appreciated -
    Thanks!

    I have attempted to use the information found here for this task:
    http://livedocs.adobe.com/flex/3/html/help.html?content=PDF_1.html
    But is this outdated?  Using the LiveCycle Designer, I have not been able to utilize the "this.hostContainer.messageHandler" with any success.  Is their an equivalent xfa.etc handler?  Or if "this.hostContainer.messageHandler" is still available to Acrobat 9.X documents, what are the appropriate steps to using this?  I've tried putting it in the document initializer, docReady, and Page events and it doesn't seem to be available in any of those.
    Any advice is appreciated,
    Thanks!
