JAX-WS 2.1 FCS is released

We are proud to announce the release of JAX-WS 2.1 RI FCS. JAX-WS 2.1 is
a major re-architecture over JAX-WS 2.0 without changing the standard
JAX-WS APIs or programming model. The benefits of this is a very fast
implementation and an extremely flexible, extensible architecture. To
read more about how fast the RI is and the new functionality that it
contains, read Vivek's blog at:

Didn't find the solution for this, but any object that contains an Object in its methods / attributes had the same problems, so i just built my own table that only supports Strings and the problem was solved.
If anyone knows why i had this problem and wants to share a solution, please do so.

Is there any more specific info on FCS2 release than "May"? I've ordered the upgrade, but would like to know when to expect it.

I havn't ordered yet, but I've been oggling it on Amazon.com. They have the release date posted as May 15th.

They are also a bit cheaper than ordering it directly from apple.

  • Cisco AsyncOS 7.5.1-074 for Web FCS Release Notification

    Dear Cisco Web Security Customer,
Cisco is pleased to announce a new maintenance release of AsyncOS 7.5.1-074 for Web to select customers (FCS). This release applies to all our Web Security Appliances (S-Series).
Note: If you manage multiple Web Security Appliances using our Security Management Appliance (SMA) you need to upgrade the SMAs to AsyncOS 7.9.1-030 for Security Management (or higher).
Partial list of defects fixed in AsyncOS 7.5.1-074 for Web
Fixed: Rebooting an appliance without a proper shutdown sometimes caused irreparable damage to the appliance. This is fixed. [Defect ID: 73467]
Fixed: Processing client requests sometimes took too long after updating new anti-malware rules. This is fixed. [Defect ID: 81055]
Fixed: Overloading webroot made the WSA unusably slow. This is fixed. [Defect ID: 81661]
Fixed: With Safe Search enabled, for URLs that included a question mark (?) in the first position after the domain name, for example, "example.com/?abc", transaction requests were resulting in an HTTP 404 error message. This is fixed. [Defect ID: 83666]
Fixed: Download time for Web Tracking data in CSV format was excessive when specifying a custom time range for the report. This is fixed. [Defect ID: 85964]
Fixed: After upgrading to 7.5, attempts to bring additional Web Security Appliances online were unsuccessful due to port-number mismatches between the Appliance and the WCCP router. AsyncOS now sorts port numbers from smallest to largest to prevent mismatches. This is fixed. [Defect ID: 86704]
For further information about this release, please refer to the AsyncOS Release Notes attached to this annoucement.
If you are concerned about an issue not listed there, please contact your authorized support provider to make an inquiry.
    How to Upgrade
Prior to upgrading to this release, please read the Release Notes referenced above and save a copy of the configuration file somewhere other than on your appliance.
Once you have read the Release Notes you may log into the command line of your IronPort Appliance as the 'admin' user, and type 'upgrade', or use the WebUI upgrade functionality in the 'System Administration' tab.
You may upgrade directly to the highest version available in the displayed list.
**NOTE** It is important that you follow the upgrade instructions available in the Release Notes. If you do attempt to upgrade and do not see the desired release version available, your appliance is likely not on a version allowed to upgrade directly. See 'Upgrade Paths' below.
    Upgrade Paths
Please refer to the Release Notes for qualified upgrade paths.
If your systems are on any other AsyncOS release, you will need to perform multiple upgrades as specified in the release notes. Only the immediate next step in the upgrade path will be shown to you, with the next revision being shown once you are at the approved level.

  • FCS academic pricing very enticing

Academic pricing on FCS is offered at the university where I work. I know that it's not upgradable. On the other hand, the full price for FCS is just too steep for the time being.
What I'd like to know is when the latest version of the FCS suite was released. My guess is that, if it was a relatively recent release I might be OK with purchasing the academic version and expecting it to be a current product for some time (a year or two?).
Can someone tell me when the latest FCS was released?
    Thank you much.

Thank you all for your knowledgeable responses. My university bookstore has FCS at a price that makes it attractive and somewhat lower than the academic price you mention. (However, next week I’ll check on whether it’s an older version that they might be trying unload from their inventory.)
Because I’m fairly new to higher end editing I know it will take me some time to feel comfortable editing with it. For now FCE seems to be doing all that I need.
I’m looking at FCS because part of a project that I hope to be doing will have clips recorded at 24fps in addition to 30fps. I’ve never used 24fps, but I read that FCE cannot edit it.
Once again, thanks for your help.

  • Cannot install FCS 1 on new iMac

I just purchased a new quad core 27" iMac, but when I go to install FCS 1 (which is what i have for this serial number) it says that i "do not have the right hardware" to run it.
Im guessing because this is a new computer and FCS is old.
    1. So question one, is there a way to still get this to install?
    2. If not, I have a version of FCS 2 only on a separate serial number and it is installed on my MBP. If I install the same serial number copy on two computers on the same network will it allow both to run?
    Thanks

Final Cut Studio 1 was released at NAB2005 and was NOT a universal binary app.
It is only compatible with PPC, not an Intel Macs, such as your new iMac.
The first UB FCS was released about year later is a $49.95 cross grade
Luckily, you can upgrade to FCS3 for about $250.00 if you shop.

  • What is the most up to date implementation of web services in Java?

I'm completely new to web services and just got confused. I installed Sun App Server 9 Update 1 Patch 1 and successfully deployed some simple web services with it. Later I found sth that is called Web Services Developer Pack 2.0 but it can't use Sun App Server 9 as a container ... and requires the older version (8.1 as far as I can remember). Does it mean that JWSDP 2.0 is out of date ... and Sun App Serv 9 has bult-in web services implementation?
Please can anyone highlight me this subject?
    Thanks!
    Artur

ok ... just answering my own question ;)
    that's what I found on sun's website:
the Java Web Services Developer Pack will no longer be developed as a discrete release vehicle for the Web services and XML technologies that the Java WSDP shares with Project GlassFish.
The current release of Java Web Services Developer Pack, Version 2.0, contains the new JAX-WS 2.0 EA, JAXB 2.0 EA, and SAAJ 1.3 EA implementations, the "integrated stack" for Web services. These components are now available as FCS-quality releases in Project GlassFish.
as far as I know ... correct me if I'm wrong ... Sun App Server 9 is based on Proj Glassfish.

  • JWSDP 2.0 License?

    http://java.sun.com/webservices/docs/2.0/LICENSE
Is JWSDP 2.0 ever going to move to a full release license? Right now we're reverting production code to JWSDP 1.6 because of the license...
    Jerry H.

And what's wrong with the license?According to the license and release notes virtually everything in the JWSDP 2.0 release is non-deliverable/distributable. Everything is marked as Early Access (EA) with a stated 180-day developement-only license, which means we can't incorporate any of it into our GA releases.
Unless and until JWSDP 2.0 goes from EA to FCS we're legally not allowed to ship (redistribute) it.

  • Dynamic Reloading

Well, after a lot of questions and a loft of responses, i can't restart my webapps automatically.
Now, i'm working on the FCS/final release and the problem is the same.
I enabled dynamic reloading in the Applications Page,
I created a file .reload at the root of my webapps.
I modified the reload to change the date...nothing append.

    Hi.
When you say that you "modified your .reload at the root of your webapps", are you saying that you have only one .reload for all of your webapps. That would be a mistake.
Make sure that you have a .reload at the root of every deployed web application that you need to enable reloading.
Make sure you read the chapter that discusses dynamic reloading in theGetting Started Guide (which ships wit hthe server and is also available at http://docs.sun.com/db/doc/816-7146-10 )

  • FCSvr on Lion, & ClipTouch

    http://www.xsanity.com/index.php?topic=fcs
Factorial releases ClipTouch 1.2 with Lion Support
    Contributed by: Factorial  |  Views:101
Wellington based Factorial Ltd released ClipTouch 1.2, an update to their Final Cut Server client for the iPad. ClipTouch connects directly to any Final Cut Server without requiring any additional configuration, and lets you browse, share, collaborate, and present your media assets in a totally new way. Browse, review and approve your video assets, taking advantage of the mobility of the iPad, and its unique MultiTouch interface.
ClipTouch also supports playback of audio files including MP3, AAC, Apple Lossless, AIFF, WAV and more. ClipTouch includes built-in preview of iPad-supported image and document types including PDF, PNG, JPEG, TIFF, Camera RAW, iWork, Microsoft Office, CSV, TXT, RTF and more. ClipTouch also allows you to send documents and images to other apps on your iPad.
New in ClipTouch 1.2 is support for Final Cut Server deployed under OS X Lion or Lion Server. Also ClipTouch 1.2 now authenticates directly to Final Cut Server without the need for an external authentication helper service or internet access.
Please note that although Final Cut Server installs under Lion, neither the Final Cut Server Java Client, nor ClipTouch can authenticate without making some configuration changes on your server.Factorial has published a brief guide on how to install Final Cut Server on Lion and offers support and consultancy for transitioning existing deployments.
For enterprise deployment Factorial offers ClipTouch Pro, a customised version displaying your custom metadata, and branded for your organization.

Installing Final Cut Server on Lion and Lion Server
Final Cut Server installs okay on OS X Lion and Lion Server, but in its default configuration authentication fails from both the Java Client, and from ClipTouch. In order to use Final Cut Server running on OS X Lion, please run the following commands:
Switch the Final Cut Server authentication mode to use CRAM-MD5 passwords by executing following command in Terminal:
    sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.FinalCutServer.settings "AUTH_TYPE" -int 2
Restart Final Cut Server via the System Preference pane.
If your Final Cut Server is installed on OS X Lion Client, you must also enable CRAM-MD5 password support for any user accounts you have configured to access Final Cut Server.
For each user account accessing Final Cut Server:
sudo pwpolicy -u username -sethashtypes CRAM-MD5 on
And then reset the password of the user using:
sudo pwpolicy -a username -u username -setpassword
(The password reset can also be performed via System Preferences).
Optionally enable CRAM-MD5 password support for new users:
    sudo pwpolicy -setglobalhashtypes CRAM-MD5 on
Please note that Lion Server has CRAM-MD5 enabled by default for user accounts and does not require this step.
If your Final Cut Server is installed on Lion Server, you have to also manually configure the webserver to show the Final Cut Server start page. Depending on the webserver sites configuration you use, simply add the required rewrite rule to the appropriate virtual host. The required lines of http configuration can be found here:
    /Library/Application\ Support/Final\ Cut\ Server/Final\ Cut\ Server.bundle/Contents/Resources/share/conf/client_apache2.conf
Please note that on Lion Client the automatic configuration of the webserver works correctly and this step is not required.
Your Final Cut Server is now configured to accept authentication from both the Java Client, and ClipTouch 1.2.
If you require consultancy with configuring, migrating or supporting your Final Cut Server system under Lion, feel free to contact us.

  • Final Cut Server & Active Directory authentication

    Hi all,
This is an older question that was not be answered in the past.
I have a Xserve with Mac OS X server 10.5.6, running Final Cut Server 1.1.1 and a Windows 2003 AD server with hundreds of users.
The issue is FCS is not authenticating against AD even though clients can do it, being binded with Directory Utility without trouble.
Could somebody tell me if is this a known issue?
    Did somedody make it work?
    Thanks

Same problem here. We couldn't make it work, that is login to FCS using AD users.
Don't remember where but I was reading about it in a forum, somebody said that they talk to someone in Apple and they told him this is a problem and that they were going to fix it in the next FCS update/release.
    Hope they do

Once the Ironport has been upgraded to ASYNC 8.0.0 - 402 have you encountered any issues / bugs?

What types of issues are you seeing?  It would be better to be running 8.1.1-013 which is a GA release --- on the SMA, as 8.0.0-402 would have been an FCS release.  [First Customer Ship (FCS): This release has been fully qualified for production usage by Cisco Email Security Appliances.  It has been extensively tested for functionality and stability, including tests in production by our Beta Program customers. • 8.1 FCS release date ....balpark it!

    Hi
I know probably Sun has a policy of not revealing the release dates, but please don't blame me for trying:)
When will J2EE SDK containing App Server 8.1 be released?
Can someone at least tell me if it will be by the end of the year?
It is hard to plan upgrade of 10-20 servers when there is no "road map".....
    Anyone?
    zamby

It's called App Server 8.1 2004Q4, so that should help a bit.
I'm sure your Sun representative could give you much more details.

  • [ANNOUNCE] JSF-RI 1.2_05 FCS has been released!

    Official announcement: https://javaserverfaces.dev.java.net/servlets/NewsItemView?newsItemID=5408
    Blog entry: http://blogs.sun.com/rlubke/entry/jsf_ri_1_2_05

I downloaded the JSF RI from the Sun site and included the jars in WEB-INF/lib.
However, I see now why using the bea shared library would work because bea have added WeblogicInjectionProvider.class to the standard jsf-impl.jar.
Do you think it would be better if bea provided the class in a separate jar? Would it work if I just copied the class to a separate jar in my WEB-INF/lib?
Otherwise it seems developers have to use the version of JSF shipped by BEA which is 1.2_03. Almost a year old now.
              Regards
              Martin

  • Application based on JAX-WS running slow on AIX 3.5 of 64 bits

    Hi all,
I’m running a java web service based on JAX-WS the release included in java6, this application load the information from tables to data structures in memory such as hash map, and has it available for a client application that consume it.
My problem is that when I run my application on windows the time of processing is acceptable but when I try to run the same application on AIX 3.5 of 64 bits the communication between client and the web service is up 10 times slower.
    I tried the following test.
Run the WS and client in the same windows server its success (fast)
Run the WS in a windows server the client in my windows 7 laptop the result is success (fast)
Run the Web Service on windows server and the client in AIX server this is slow
Run the Web Service on the same AIX server that the client it is slow
When I run the applications, I compile it whit the java6_64 version and run whit –d64 option on AIX
    Regards

Try to isolate the problem by finding out where the delay is e.g
1.) Is the delay in loading data from the database into memory?
2.) Is the delay in getting a request from the client side to the server side components?
3.) Is the delay in processing a request on the server side with the in memory data?
Also verify that jvm settings and hardware (e.g) processors between the two environments are comparable.
