JAXM problem

Hi everybody,
I have a synchronous request response listener JAXM servlet on Tomcat.
When I post soap message using JAXM client, it works fine.
I could successfully post the soap message with attachment using HttpURLConnection to the Receiving JAXM servlet.
My requirement is that I must be able to format the xml content between <soap-env:Header> and </soap-env:Header>.
Very surprisingly, it fails for carriage returns inside the soap message.
If I remove all the carriage returns between <soap-env:Header> and </soap-env:Header>, it works. If I try to format the content between those two tags, it fails.
Has it got anything to do with encoding? I am using UTF-8.
Did anybody happen to encounter this problem?
Any ideas are greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Thirumal.

Thanks for your interest friend,
This is what I send to the JAXM receiving servlet:

As I told you I want to format the content between <soap-env:Header> adn </soap-env:Header>.
Interestingly, if I send the above content as it is it works but when I enter a carriage return after the tag <soap-env:Header> it doesn't accept i.e. it throws exception like: JAXM Post failed.
I assume that after <soap-env:Header>, it doesn't accept white spaces or any other content for that matter except other tags.
I have an idea of turning the validation off on the receing JAXM servlet. Can I do that? If so, how can I? All this I want is because the outgoing content should be readable and well-formatted. That's what is my requirement.
Any ideas please...
Thanks once again for the interest you have shown.

  • Problem in JAXM soap communication

    Hello,
    I'm sending simple message "some text here"
    from soap client to server using JAXM
    In the server i can access the message and show in the console
    msg.writeTo(System.out);
    How do i extract only the message from the soap envelop (How do i extract the message from the envelop in public SOAPMessage onMessage(SOAPMessage msg) method)?
    This is my client
    javax.xml.soap.Name name = envelope.createName("Text");
    javax.xml.soap.SOAPBodyElement bodyElement = body.addBodyElement (name);
    bodyElement.addTextNode ("Some Body text");
    Thanks for your help

    According to me, you should transform the result message to xml format, then use your favorite parser (e.g. SAX, DOM,...) to extract expected values.
                    /* Do transform */
                    TransformerFactory tFact = ransformerFactory.newInstance();
                    Transformer transformer = tFact.newTransformer();
                    Source src = msg.getSOAPPart().getContent();
                    StringWriter sw = new StringWriter();
                    StreamResult result = new StreamResult(sw);
                    transformer.transform(src, result);
                    DocumentBuilderFactory factory = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
                    factory.setValidating(false);
                    factory.setNamespaceAware(true);
                    DocumentBuilder parser = factory.newDocumentBuilder();
                    InputSource inSource = new InputSource(new ByteArrayInputStream(sw.toString().getBytes()));
                    Document dom = parser.parse(inSource);
                    /* xml processing goes here. At this time, you have a DOM tree in the memory, write code to get values */
                    .........hope this helps

  • Problem with MessageFactory in jaxm

    import java.net.*;
    Can anybody help me to tell me what is the problem?
    LG

    There are two classpaths. One when you compile and one when you run it. Do you have the jars listed in both? The implementation class is nor needed in order to compile this code because you are not explicitly referencing the class. It's possible therefore to compile this code without having the jar that you need to run it.

  • JAXM and SOAPAction - Big problem?

    Hi,
    whenever connecting to a WebService provider I need to set the SOAPAction header. JAXM seems to provide no way to do this. Can this be true?
    Yours,
    Stefan

    Hi,
    Does JAXM not handle SOAPActions implicitly? A SOAPaction indicates the intent of a SOAP message. A SOAPAction is given as a url, often this url indicates a jsp or servlet that must handle the request being sent. Is this not implicit in the destination of a message? The message endpoints and the address of actors are given as urls. The endpoints or actors are themselves SOAP services which can be implemented as Servlets which receive SOAP messages in the HTTP request. Could you not regard these urls as implicit SOAPActions? You can create an actor to embody each desired SOAPAction. An actor is an intermediary service between the sender and the receiver. The actor is identified by an url. A SOAPHeaderElement is created with the actor reference and some fields that they must handle. These fields could provide information on how to handle the message or to change some information in the message. The changed message is then sent on to the next actor or the ultimate receipient.
    Those are just my thoughts.

    It seems that something is still running on port 8080 - you should double check that your Apache server is indeed shut down and maybe reboot the system.
    Alternatively, you could change the value of this (HTTP) port in <installdir>/domains/domain1/config/domain.xml file.

  • Problem with Application server

    Hi All,
    I'm facing problem with Application Server. When I installed the appserver and started it.. It started with the message " server has been started and some services will run at back". But when I tried stopping it using the stop default server i got the message that there is no server running but when i saw in the task manager i cud see two process running 1) appserver.exe and 2) imqbroker(something).exe so eventually I had to kill it.
    Now when I'm trying to start the application server again its giving me this message "CLI156 Could not start the domain domain1" and below is the log file attached if its of any help

    Thanks in advance
    Ajay

    The VERY FIRST message in the server log gives you a hint as to what the problem might be. The server thinks you have spaces in your PATH to the application server. Therefore, the solution is to kill the server however you need to (task manager, whatever) and then reinstall it in a path that doesn't contain spaces. That's the low-hanging fruit here; if that doesn't work, well, then we will have to find some other solution.

  • Problem with getting a D2K report in XML format

    Hi all,
    Could any body give a solution for this problem.
    I have a matrix report like following:
    Q_Statement_Of_Net_Assets ----> main query
    |
    G_Cross ----> Cross product
    | CS_VALUE
    | CS_NET_ASSET
    | CF_COSTI
    |
    | --------------------------------- |
    | | G_CTIF | | ------> Like this I have two more groups
    | --------------------------------- |
    ...... |
    -----------------------------------------------|
    My requirement is i want to print CS_VALUE, CS_NET_ASSET, CF_COSTI values in XML report, these values i am getting in a Normal/RTF format reports.
    But i am not getting in XML format report.
    thanks in advance.

    Thanks Schellyc
    actually I want to creat a new SOAPMessage for the very beginning like this:
    try{
                MessageFactory mf = MessageFactory.newInstance();
                SOAPMessage msg = mf.createMessage();
                SOAPPart sp = msg.getSOAPPart();
                //create the header container
                SOAPEnvelope se = sp.getEnvelope();
                SOAPHeader sh = se.getHeader();
                SOAPBody sb = se.getBody();
            }catch(Throwable e) {
                e.printStackTrace();
            }and I want to get the empty header from this newly created SOAPEnvelop and add my own content into the header as well as the empty body.
    I wrote the code by following the example from the jaxm api.
    can anybody tell me any further information about the NullPointerException?

    Nope - it's not supported. It is useable though ...
    The problem is that the Fedora series uses cutting edge technology. The Fedora technology cycles every 6-9 months.
    Oracle likes things very stable. So Oracle builds a clean copy using a specific set of APIs at a specific release of the kernel, the glibc and so on. They chose the commercial releases which cycle every 18-24 months - in part so they can get people trained to provide support.
    Due to the nature of Linux, you CAN install the correct APIs and get it to work and many of the free distros. Just don't expect Oracle to provide assistance or support. (After all, where do they stop - there are hundreds of free distros, and even more when you count the 'objsolete but still running' ones.)
    If you really want to proceed, then you need to read up the cookbook sites from experts such as Ivan Kartik (http://ivan.kartik.sk/) or Werner Puschitz (http://www.puschitz.com) As long as you realize that the install is NOT recommended for production.

  • APP Server Problem - HELP!!!!

    I've read all the previous postings and can't resolve this after a week of re-installs, deleting files, PATH, Environment Variable changes, etc. Can someone please provide definitive advice on this? I'm installing on XP for now. Server Log File is as follows:

The PATH must be consistently formated (e.g. C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0\bin; ) or the Appserver may not be able to start and/or stop.  Mixed quoted spaces in your PATH can cause problems, so the launcher will remove all double quotes before invoking the process. The most reliable solution would be to remove all spaces from your path before starting the Appservers components.  |#]

    Hi,
    Seems you are having socket time out exception. I use to get the same while deploying on XP with (640MB RAM) but able to re-run after freeing some memory. Creator needs optimally atleast 1GB RAM. You have not mentioned your machine RAM...
    It might just help..

  • 1.4.2 SDK Windows installation problem

    Hello,
    I have installed the SDK under the C:\Program Files\Sun directory without any error messages. I tried to start the domain "domain1". I get the error message shown below. I am aware that the SDK has problems with space characters in directory names. However, I installed the software using C:\Progra~1\Sun as the install directory. After reading some of the other postings, I created the environment variable SUNPATH and replaced all PATH references to SUNPATH. This did not help. Is it impossible to install the SDK under the "Program Files" directory?
    Thanks!

    Although you managed to circumvent install time check for the space character in the path (which was not supported in this release) by specifying the installation directory in shortened 8.3 form, installation directory eventually gets resolved to its canonical path (which includes space character) and that is causing product scripts to fail during server startup later on.
    Installing in paths containing space character will be fully supported in upcoming Application Server 8 PE release. However, in order to use SDK download you currently have you'll have to uninstall it and re-install it in different directory location to get it up and running.

  • A bug in JAXM?

    Hi,
    A standalone client application I'm writing makes a soap connection to a server. Among other header values, the url of the following form is also sent as a header value:
    String url = http://www.myserver.com/app?a=b&c=d&e=f;
    header.addHeaderElement(envelope.createName("url", NS_PREFIX, NS_URI)).addTextNode(url);
    A null pointer exception is generated, which I think happens during JAXM generation of the SOAP message XML.
    The problem was with the query string part of the url. I think the '&' character which is a reserved character in XML wasn't escaped during the SOAP xml generation.
    Somebody reading this might say I should encode the URL before passing it as a header value. I agree and that is the solution I'm using now. But what if I i'm not sending a url but the string "a&b" as a header value?
    I think the bug here is that JAXM refuses to put the header value into a CDATA section which I think should be the case.
    Another problem is that newlines appearing in header values are removed during transmission to the server. Why?

    Why dont you go ahead and file a bug here.

    I will see if I can dig up more info for you.

  • Java Application Server  8.2 startup problem

    Hello,
    I have installed j2ee SDK 1.4.03 on Windows. Then I started the Application
    Server in the default domain1 by choosing in "Start default server".
    Everything seems to be OK as I get message "Domain domain1 is ready to
    receive client requests". I have a problem when I try to verify if the server is
    running in the browser on http://localhost:8080/, the browser keeps tring
    to open it but nothing is displayed. In the log I get this, which seems to me a bit
    too short, as I saw the log of properly running server on another computer
    (not everything may have been started). BTW I have got the same problem
    with the Glassfish server. Can anyone help me please?

    Are you sure that HTTP port used by this installation was actually 8080? It is the default value, but if that port is in use at installation time, alternative port will be assigned. Installer will show you the new value, but it is easy to miss if you are not looking very closely.
    To find out which ports are actually being used check <installdir>domains/domain1/config/domain.xml file.

  • Problem when generating an non-interactive form in Web Dynpro java.

    Hi,
    I'm trying to create a PDFDocument using a creation context in java. Everything works fine when the Interactive property of the creation context is set to true. When I change it to false however, the Web dynpro application hangs and eventually throws the following exception:
    java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out
       at java.net.SocketInputStream.socketRead0(Native Method)
       at java.net.SocketInputStream.read(SocketInputStream.java:129)
       at java.io.BufferedInputStream.fill(BufferedInputStream.java:183)
       at java.io.BufferedInputStream.read(BufferedInputStream.java:201)
       at com.sap.engine.services.webservices.jaxm.soap.HTTPSocket.readLine(HTTPSocket.java:806)
    I'm wondering why this exception occurs when i'm generating a non interactive form and never appears when i'm generating a form with the Interactive property set to true.
    Any ideas?

    Yeah I know changing the form properties will solve my problem, but since i'm developing a training for Interactive Forms in Web Dynpro Java, I wanted to figure out why the (static / non-interactive) combination didn't work, turned out to be a template problem, which i still didn't figure out, except the fact that having flowed content on your template is not the problem.
    My ideas about your question:
    When we have the layout of an Interactive Form, its clear if it's meant to be static or dynamic, we don't know however, if it's interactive or non-interactive.
    I don't think we can judge a layout to have an Interactive or non-interactive purpose, can depend on the situation in which the same form is shown/used:
    - One moment it can be interactive, e.g. user is filling in the form, can enter data etc.
    - Next moment it can be non-interactive, e.g. form is shown to another user.
    So it's more the scenario/situation that determines if the form is interactive or non-interactive.

  • Error in using Jaxm provider deployed in j2ee 1.3.1 (RI)

    We were able to successfully deploy/test all JWSDP v1.0 samples into the
    J2ee 1.3.1 (RI) in preparation for our next projects.
    We have problems, however, in deploying the JAXM-provider and
    JAXM-providerAdmin samples. Please, help us.
    We followed the procedures defined in your article; we even re-deployed the
    same war files that came out of running jwsdponj2ee.bat.
    We always get the same errors. We even switch back and forth the port for
    webservices in our desperation; but to no avail. THe scenarion went like this:
    After deployment of the modified jaxm-provider.war and
    jaxm-provideradmin.war, we then point our browser to
    http://127.0.0.1:8080/jaxm-provideradmin. We then enter "j2ee" as user and
    password. So, far so good and we get to the next page that has the frame
    (http://127.0.0.1:8080/jaxm-provideradmin/index.jsp). So far so good at this
    point. But when we click on the "HTTP" icon under ebXML profile, we get some of
    these error messages:
    "Internal server error"
    javax.servlet.ServletException
         at
    org.apache.jasper.runtime.PageContextImpl.handlePageException(PageContextImpl.java:463)

         at org.apache.jasper.servlet.JspServlet.service(JspServlet.java:474)
         at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:853)
    And if we click on the "HTTP" icon of SOAPRP, we get these messages:
    Internal Server Error
    javax.servlet.ServletException
         at
    org.apache.jasper.runtime.PageContextImpl.handlePageException(PageContextImpl.java:463)

         at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:853)
    Although our setup of J2EE 1.3.1 (R.I.) is able to successfully run all the
    other JWSDP v1.0 Samples, we are obviously missing something in deploying the
    JAXM-provider and provider admin samples.
    Any ideas to help us, Please...
    Thanks in advance for your possible time and effort....
    adler

    I was really hoping someone could/would answer your question, I have having the exact same issues. After looking through release notes for J2SE 1.4.0_01, J2EE 1.3.1, and JWSDP 1.0, the only thing I can come up with is that there is a conflict between the JAXM version that the JWSDP installer and the XML packages included with J2SE. This is purely conjecture, but it's all I have to go on right now. If you figure out or find the solution please post it.
    Thanks,
    tc
