JBO-26019: Attempting to remove a parent entity without removing all childr

Hello,
I am working in PMS module. I have extended one view object i.e. oracle.apps.per.selfservice.objectives.server.PerObjPerfRatingsVO.
Its working fine as expected. I am getting the extra rows which i wanted to show. This VO is associated with EO.
When i am trying to delete a row am getting the below error:
oracle.jbo.RemoveWithDetailsException: JBO-26019: Attempting to remove a parent entity without removing all children entities.
Is there anything wrong in VO extension which i did or some extra steps are needs to done to achieve this.
Please reply me soon. Its really urgent.
Regards,
murali

But i have already extended VO. so how to use pl/sql code to delete the row. Becaouse VO which i have extended that is associated with some EO. which is taking care of DML operation.

  • Removing songs from itunes without removing them from ipod

    Is it possible to remove songs from iTunes without removing them from iPod? When I attempt to delete songs from iTunes I get a warning that they'll be deleted from iPod as well. I've got Manually manage music and videos checked under Options in the Summary window.

    You can delete songs from your iTunes/computer hard drive after transferring them to the iPod, and for this you need to set your iPod to manage the iPod content manually.
    However, this is an extremely risky option because when (and not if) there comes a time to restore your iPod, which is a very common fix for iPod problems, then all the music would be erased. If you no longer have the music in iTunes (or any other back up), then all that music would be lost.
    What if the iPod were lost/stolen/needed repair? Again, the music would lost. I strongly recommend a back up, and if computer hard drive space is in short supply, you should seriously consider an external hard drive. They are not expensive, and the cost is well worth it when compared to the loss of all your precious music.
    At the very least back up your music to either cd or dvd before deleting it, particularly any purchased music/videos, as this would have to be bought again if it were lost. See these about backing up media.
    How to back up your media in iTunes.
    Buegie's complete back up strategy.
    To move music from iPod to computer, check out the instructions/suggestions here.
    Music from iPod to computer (using option 2). This a manual method using "hidden folders" and although it works, it can be messy.
    Much easier ways are to use one of the many 3rd party programs that copy music from the iPod to the computer.
    One of the most recommended is Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music and playlists etc from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.
    Another free program is Pod Player.
    There is also CopyPod. This does preserve ratings/playcounts etc if those are important to you but this program is not free. It also supports video transfer.
    If you are using iTunes version 7 or later, then you can transfer purchased iTunes store music from the iPod to an authorized computer by using the "file/transfer purchases from iPod" menu. Note that the maximum of 5 authorized computers applies here.

  • Removing email from iPhone without removing it from Mobile me server

    I currently have an iPhone and several email accounts on different servers. All these accounts give me to option to remove mail from my iPhone without removing them from the server. With Mobile me there is no option available to do this that I've been able to to locate on my iPhone. Does anyone know how to prevent the emails pushed to my iphone not being removed from the server when I delete them from my iPhone? Thanks.

    Mobile Me uses the IMAP protocol.
    This allows the iPhone + Server + all other PC/Macs you have your account on to remain in sync. Delete an email, it affects all devices with account, read email, read on all devices with account. Etc. Etc.
    This is normal for any IMAP based account. POP are the accounts that will not keep things up to date or the same.
    By any chance are all the other accounts actually POP? or are they also using IMAP?
    Typically you may find a default global settings in Settings - Mail, Contacts, Calenders - On that screen might be some deletion options.

  • Removing JFrame title bar WITHOUT removing window border

    I've been searching for a while now, and the only solutions I found were just using
    frame.setUndecorated(true);But this also removes the window border, which removes the ability to resize the window.
    I need the title bar removed while still retaining the ability to resize the window.
    There has got to be some way to do this.

    import javax.swing.*;
    import java.awt.*;
    class Testing
      public void buildGUI()
        JFrame.setDefaultLookAndFeelDecorated(true);
        JFrame f = new JFrame();
        f.getLayeredPane().remove(f.getLayeredPane().getComponent(1));
        f.setSize(400,300);
        f.setLocationRelativeTo(null);
        f.setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE);
        f.setVisible(true);
      public static void main(String[] args)
        SwingUtilities.invokeLater(new Runnable(){

  • JBO-26019

    Hi All,
    I have a Database table connected to nealry 10 tables. I am trying to implement Cascade delete in my EO association and I see the following exception.
    (oracle.jbo.RemoveWithDetailsException) JBO-26019: Attempting to remove a parent entity without removing all children entities
    I have implemented Cascase Delete for all EO's I know..how do I know what entity I missed based on the above error? Is there a way to know what are all the EO's I have to implement Cascade Delete?
    Thanks.

  • Getting an error of "JBO-27101: Attempt to access dead entity in".

    Hi All,
    I have one Create Page where I have functionality of Create new SCodes in normal way as well as I have provided a functionality of Copy existing SCodes to new SCodes.
    Copy function works fine in all cases. But in one scenario, it is getting failed with the following error and that happens when I Save new records which creates in normal way and then try to copy the existing code to new code. I mean this errors is coming when we try to copy after saving a new record without doing any other operation.
    "oracle.jbo.DeadEntityAccessException: JBO-27101: Attempt to access dead entity in XxxxxEO, key=oracle.jbo.Key[20675 ]"
    Following is the portion of my code for Copy feature written in AM.
    XxxxxVOImpl vo = null;
    vo = getXxxxxVO2();
    OARow row;
    Row sourceRow, dataRow;
    vo.first();
    while (true)
    if (vo.getCurrentRow() != null)
    vo.removeCurrentRow();
    if (vo.next() == null)
    break;
    int recCount = 0;
    while ( !((sourceRow = sourceSiteVO.next()) == null) )
    recCount++;
    row = (OARow) vo.createRow();
    vo.insertRow(row);
    row.setAttribute("SCode",sourceRow.getAttribute("SCode"));
    If there are 2 old records to copy, first record gets created but while creation of second record this error is coming. It is failing at "vo.insertRow(row); " line of the above code.
    Has anybody faced the same problem and got any solution? Please advice me how to overcome on this issue.
    Help is appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Arvin

    Iusue is resolved by removing following lines from the code.
    vo.first();
    while (true)
    if (vo.getCurrentRow() != null)
    vo.removeCurrentRow();
    if (vo.next() == null)
    break;
    Thanks,
    Arvin

  • Need help getting around the following error: JBO-27101: Attempt to access dead entity in EO.

    Hi everyone,
    My logic in prepareForDML() updates some attributes (shown in the snippet below) based on whether an insert or update is taking place. But, when I delete a line, I get the following error: JBO-27101: Attempt to access dead entity in EO. So far, I have not been able to catch this error.
            if (operation == DML_INSERT) {
                setLineId((new SequenceImpl("eo_s",
                                            getDBTransaction()).getSequenceNumber()));
                setCreatedBy(createdBy);
                setCreationDate(currentDateAndTime);
                setLastUpdatedBy(lastUpdatedBy);
                setLastUpdateDate(currentDateAndTime);
            } else if (operation == DML_UPDATE) {
                setLastUpdatedBy(lastUpdatedBy);
                setLastUpdateDate(currentDateAndTime);
    Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

    Hi Timo,
    Thanks for responding. Whenever I delete a line and commit, I get the error. And, since inserts and updates are all that I am interested in, I did not think that I needed deletion logic. The VO contains several EOs, but all are reference EOs that cannot be updated except for the main EO.

  • JBO-27101: Attempt to access dead entity in EO exception

    Hi,
    I have developed a new OAF page based on SubTabLayout. It is having a read only header region and in the tabs users are supposed to enter data which will be saved in a custom table. I have added 3 buttons to the page "Clear All", "Save", "Continue".
    When I press Clear All button it should clear all the data entered.
    When I press the button I am calling a method in AM where I am taking a reference of the VO and using vo.clearCache().
    But when I click on the Clear All button its givving me this exception

    Hi,
    first thing to check is "5,174". For an ID this sounds strange as you would expect IDs to be Number, Integer or anything else without a comma in it
    Btw.: have you tried Googling for this string: attempt to access dead view row of persistent id
    There are many hits for this query that you can have a look at
    JBO-27102: DeadViewRowAccessException
    Cause: Trying to access a ViewRow which is part of an obsolete/invalid collection. This could happen if a reference to the ViewRow is held by some business logic while the containing view object was removed.
    Action: Find the referenced ViewRow either by re-querying or using findByKey methods to get a valid reference to the ViewRow.

  • JBO-26020: Attempting to insert row with no matching EO base

    Hi All,
    I have a bit of a problem here. The following is some background information. Please help if possible.
    Aim: I have a custom application whereby I need to add the sequence value (assuming the sequence.nextval is already taken and stored into a variable/original table) to my custom table.
    Procedures taken: I have found the EO which gets the sequence value for the original application and the VO that gets the EO. I have added both EO and VO to my project and tried to add the VO to my custom AM. In my custom AM I have added the following code to initialize the create function of the standard EO:
    **********CODE******************
    OAViewObject vo3 = (OAViewObject)getRegRequestsVO1();
    if (!vo3.isPreparedForExecution())
    vo3.executeQuery();
    Row row = vo.createRow();
    vo3.insertRow(row);
    row3.setNewRowState(Row.STATUS_INITIALIZED);
    Problem: However when I use the code vo3.insertRow(row); it prompts me with the applicaiton error of JBO-26020: Attempting to insert row with no matching EO base. I don't quite understand what I am doing wrong.
    Can anyone please help.
    Cheers

    This i have find out .
    FYI...
    JBO-26020: InvalidOperException
    Cause: The application code tried to take a row from one row set (or view object) and insert it into another row set (view object). In response, the framework will make a "copy" of the row in the new row set. This new row will share references to the underlying entity objects. However, if the source and destination row sets do not share any entity object bases at all, this operation will fail as it does not find any entity rows to share.
    Action: When attempting to take a row from one row set and insert into another, make sure that they share at least one entity object base.
    Thanks

    when EmpDefImpl.java has been created?

  • Help Please - Parent Entity not clearing

    We had a parent entity with 2 base children. We removed those 2 children and made the parent childless. How do we clear that parent entity ?

    First of all, avoid making a parent into a child, and alson don't turn parents into children -- in any dimension.
    On the entity you have turned into a base: if you are seeing data in the parent which you cannot determine its source, then load a blank rules file temporarily. It should be a rules file containing only:
    Sub Calculate()
    End Sub
    Load this and reconsolidate. You should no longer see numbers in the parent entity (confirm this). Then re-load the original rules file. If you then see data after the original rules file has been loaded, it is most likely from the rules and not from having been a parent previously.
    One way you can clear data from a parent is to load a single record data file, where instead of a numeric data value you can load "NoData" for al 12 periods and then load this in replace mode. This approach will clear the data values from the entity.

  • Deleting parent entity of oneToMany does not delete children first,

    I have two entities related with a bi-rdirectional OneToMany relationship. When I delete the parent, I want eclipseLink to automatically delete the child entities first before deleting the parent entity. I have implemented what I understand all the documents are telling me I should implement, but I can not get it working.
    When I try and delete the parent I get an SQLException as the foreign key constraint has been violated as there are child records for the parent I am trying to delete. It was my understanding, that if you have all the annotations correct on my Entities, then all i have to do is delete the parent and eclipseLink will delete the children first and therefore i should never get the SQL exception.
    Here is some snippets of my code.
    Entities
    @Entity(name = "PARENTS")
    public class ParentEntity {
         @Id
         @Column(name = "PARENT_ID", nullable = false)
         private String parentID;
         @Column(name = "DISPLAY_NAME", nullable = false)
         private String displayName;
         @OneToMany(mappedBy="parent", orphanRemoval=true, cascade=CascadeType.ALL)
         private Collection<ChildEntity> childEntities;
    @Entity(name = "CHILDREN")
    @IdClass(ChildIdentifier.class)
    public class ChildEntity {
         @Id
         @Column(name="ITEM_ID", nullable=false)
         private String itemID;
         @Id
         @ManyToOne()
         @JoinColumn(name="PARENT_ID", nullable=false)
         private ParentEntity parent;
    public class ChildIdentifier implements Serializable {
         private String itemID;
    private String parent;
    Tables created from these entities
    PARENTS

    ITEM_ID NOT NULL VARCHAR2(36)
    PARENT_ID NOT NULL VARCHAR2(255)
    PrimaryKey = ITEM_ID,PARENT_ID
    ForeignKey = PARENTID = PARENTS.PARENT_ID
    Code to delete a parent
         public void deleteParent(String id)
              ParentEntity e= em.find(ParentEntity .class, id);
              if (e!= null)
                   em.remove(e);
    Exception seen
    javax.persistence.RollbackException: Exception [EclipseLink-4002] (Eclipse Persistence Services - 2.4.0.v20120119-r10715): org.eclipse.persistence.exceptions.DatabaseException
    Internal Exception: java.sql.SQLIntegrityConstraintViolationException: ORA-02292: integrity constraint (MYSCHEMA.CHILDREN_FK_P_PARENTS) violated - child record found
    Error Code: 2292
    Call: DELETE FROM PARENTS WHERE (PARENT_ID = ?)
    I have added eclipse logging entries in my persistence.xml to try and see what is going on
    <property name="eclipselink.logging.level" value="FINE"/>
    <property name="eclipselink.logging.parameters" value="true"/>
    And in my jdev console when running my test, i do not see any queries of CHILDREN before it tries to delete from PARENTS.
    Am I missing something really obvious?
    Thanks in advance.

    "optional=false" only affects DDL generation, not runtime JPA behavior. PrivateOwned is similar to orphanRemoval in that it should cause the removal of child entities when they are dereferenced from the parent (ie remove them from the parent's collection). Cascade remove or cascade all should be all you need, but PrivateOwned+orphanRemoval should still cause the collection to be removed, as long as there are entities within the Parent's list of children to remove.
    The only case where I can see this not occuring is if you have not been maintaining the bidirectional relationship. That is, if you have added Child entities and set a parent, but not updated the Parent's collection of children to reflect that change. A simple test is to refresh the parent before removal - call em.refresh(e); right before the em.remove(e);. If this works, then you will need to change your application so that when you add parents to a child you also add the child to the parent's list of children - JPA does not maintain relationships for you and not doing so will keep the cache inconsistent with what is in the database.
    Best Regards,
    Chris
