Error code 8740 ( Internal Problem)

I am a Mac Desktop G4 9.2 user and currently suffering for the error code 8740 whenever i download the file from internet such as fonts.
Before getting this message, I had error message saying I need CarbonLib 1.6.0 or later so, I have reinstalled the carbonLib and then I had error message saying my suffit expander needs to be updated,.. so it is done. But, now I am able to download the file but can't expand the file and getting Error code 8740 ( Internal Problem)
Also, my internetExplorer is viewing sort of unformatted fonts which hurts my eye to read it...
If there is any tips for this problem... it will be greatly appreciated!

listed, and there should also be an item named Text

I took a look at text encoding folder in system folder, and there were all components you listed.
I did dowload TomeViewer, but I am not sure what I should do with this program?? Please tell me in more detail.
Also, I would like to find out how to install downloaded fonts from internet.

Throw JBO exception from doDML method-urgent HELP

Hi,
I am catching an exception on deleting a parent record without deleting a child record(FK constraint) in doDML delete operation method,when i am throwing a JBOexception with a custom message with in the catch block it is not refelecting in the front end,how can i display the FK contraint as a custom message in the front end?
however i was able to throw a jbo exception in TP2 with in the doDml method,which was displaying to the front end.
im using ADf TP3 11g

Hi,
a similar question was posted last week. I replied saying that TP3 is supposed to work as TP2. If this isn't the case, please wait for TP4 to verify if the problem still exist and if, post another message with a reproducible testcase. TP4 will be out soon

Record the jbo exception in database

Appreciate if you could provide inputs
User submit a web service request.Control goes to ADF bc model layer from service and performs validation in model layer.If validation is failed then record that error message and parameters (used in error message) in database.After recording the error message and parameters throw jboexception to service from model layer.
We have tried to insert the error message and parameters in the database (via View object) when validation is failed in model layer and then thrown Jboexception.But record is not getting inserted in database when jboexception is thrown from model layer.
Will jboexception thrown from model layer to service layer rollback whole transaction?
Jdev version used 11.1.1.5

The ADFbc model layer don't rollback a transaction by itself. This is left for the user or application to do. So either your code calls a rollback of the user calls rollback at some stage (e.g. by clicking a button which is calling rollback). If rollback is called, all changes which are part of the transaction are rolled back. If the insert of the exception into the db is part of the transaction, it's rolled back and you don't get the record in the DB.
Now to you use case. Have you thought about what happens if the jbo exception tells you that the DB can't be connected or ins't reachable? How do you insert the exception then?
In general it's not a good idea to use the same application to insert the exception into the db (one reason is the above problem). If you realy like to insert exceptions into the DB, you should think of using a message queue where you send messages to (with the needed information). The is then read by an other application and inserts the exception into the DB. If the DB can't be reached, the message remains in the queue until it finaly can inserted into the DB. On other nice thing is, that the queue keeps the order of the exceptions.

Help: Jbo Exception non blocking when using table cell renderer?

JClient 9.5.2.
When using Table Cell Renderer on an table cell attribute that is defined mandatory and activating the insert button, the (oracle.jbo.AttrValException) JBO-27014 exception is caught but it is not blocking and a new row is still inserted.
The JClient component demo, table attribute list, has the same behaviour.
You can add multiple rows even if not all required attributes have been documented.
Can a Swing specialist help me on this one?

I found something interesting, it could be a WORKAROUND!
I noticed that in another detail panel with table layout the JBO exception was blocking and adding another row before completing the row was NOT possible.
In the create method of the entity object of the displayed View Object I iterate over the detail row iterator to retrieve a maximum value.
By the end of the method the pointer is positionned after the last row.
So I added to the detail panel that doesn't block following code:
In create method of detail Entity Object Impl (only one entity object involved for this View)

PostalTariffImpl postalTariffImpl = getPostalTariffAssoc();
// Retrieve detail default row iterator

Some keys don't work as expected
From the Apple menu, choose System Preferences.
From the View menu, choose Speech.
Click the Text to Speech tab.
If "Speak selected text when the key is pressed" is enabled, the key or key combination set to speak text cannot be used for other purposes or used to type text--click Set Key and change it to a less-commonly used key combination (try to use modifier keys such as Shift, Command, Option, and Control). Or, disable the "Speak selected text when the key is pressed" option.
Click the Universal Access pane in System Preferences, click the Keyboard tab.
Make sure that Slow Keys is turned off. With Slow Keys on, you need to press a key for a longer period of time for it to be recognized.
In the Universal Access pane, click the Mouse tab, and make sure Mouse Keys is turned off. With Mouse Keys enabled, you cannot use the Numeric Keypad to enter numbers--instead the keypad moves the pointer (cursor). (There is an option to enable Mouse Keys with five presses of the Option key; you may want to turn that option off to avoid accidentally enabling it.) If Mouse Keys is enabled and you are using a keyboard with no numeric keypad or Num Lock function, see Unable to type while Mouse Keys is enabled in Mac OS X.
If the function keys on the top row of the keyboard are not working as expected, see Mac OS X: How to change the behavior of function keys.
If the issue persists, use Keyboard Viewer to help isolate the issue:
Click the Language & Text pane (Mac OS X v10.6) or International pane (Mac OS X v10.5.8 or earlier) in System Preferences.
Click the Input Sources tab (or Input Menu tab in Mac OS X 10.5.8 or earlier).
Click the Keyboard & Character Viewer "On" checkbox to select it (click the Keyboard Viewer "On" checkbox in Mac OS X 10.5.8 or earlier).
From the Input (flag) menu, choose Show Keyboard Viewer.
If the keyboard is connected and detected by Mac OS X, the keys you type will highlight in the Keyboard Viewer window. Open TextEdit (or any text application), and try to type something using the keys that were previously not responding to see if they highlight in Keyboard Viewer.
Start from the Mac OS X Install Disc, choose Terminal from the Utilities menu and test the keys which were previously not working. If the keys work while started from the Install disc, then the keyboard itself is working correctly. Use Mac OS X: How to troubleshoot a software issue to isolate the software issue that may be causing the keys to not respond.

JBO Exception while running OAF page from Jdev

Hi All,
I am using jdev 10.1.3 on R12 instance.
I am trying to customize a standard OAF page.
For that I downloaded all the related directories from the server and placed it in the corresponding folders of jdev.
When I rebuild the page it is rebuilding successfully, but when I run the page it is showing some jbo exception.
The exception details are attached in word file.
If anyone faced such issues before please share your thoughts.

Please paste the error stack and while running the page from Jdev make sure that you have updated DBC file and check the runtime connections in project properties. check the database connection as well.

How to Hide JBO Exceptions in JSF Pages in ADF 10g

Hi All,
How to hide the JBO Exceptions in ADF 10g, for example JBO-27122: SQL error during statement preparation. I have been used the same customizing error handler which was specified in bcadfdevguide. But the method reportexception which will call disableappendcodes is not doing anything in my case.
I want to show some decent errors instead of JBO errors to the user, appreciate if you help me on this.

Thanks for the reply, actually i am looking to show the user our own customized error instead of JBO errors, i don't know whether the method skipexception will skip it or i can override it to show customized exceptions. and registering the customerrorhandler in databindings is different from registering the customphaselistener class in faces-config.xml which was usually done in 10g.
But in my case, even though i followed everything what was specified in dev guide, i am not getting the result. Hence this post in forums :)

if this is a random issue I assume that the authorizations of the CPS communication user are OK, otherwise please verify:

If this random issue happens only if you execute your custom script, I would assume that the script wants to create a job with invalid data. For example: some data is missing or wrong like start date/time, job class, job user, job name.
Let's analyze what you have posted here:
RFC error: XM034
RFC Message: Internal problem (function BAPI_XBP_JOB_OPEN)
-> XM034 point to the XMI log
-> use transcation RZ15 to analyze the XMI log
-> XM034 means "problem detected" (see appendix 8 of document ftp://ftp.sap.com/pub/icc/bc-xbp/BCXBPDOC70V3.pdf)
I locked into the code and indeed it seems that function BAPI_XBP_JOB_OPEN returns this message if the job cannot be created.
So if Sys- and XMI-Log cannot help you in solving this issue, I would create a message for dev. support.

Throwing jbo exception from AppModule class

If a JBO exception does not appear on the JSF page when thrown from the AppModule class, what are some things that should be checked?

I'm not really sure what your question is, but backing beans would generally be considered part of the controller layer, in my opinion.
JBO exceptions are typically raised from the Model layer.
What exactly are you trying to do here? Can you share the use case?

LINUX into directory / u01/app/oracle/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1/eof/patches and then re-run this stepAs mentioned above, download the file manually from Metalink (MOS) website and copy it to this directory then run the same command.

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

"Internal Problem" message when attempting to log into BO 6.5

EDIT The message windows states "Internal Problem" not "Internal Error"
I'm getting this simple message box when trying to launch BO 6.5 and/or Supervisor 6.5. There is no other information provided and nothing entered into the event viewer. It's happening from all workstations with BO installed so I presume the issue is on the server and not with the individual workstations.
Any ideas as to where to look?

Following solutions might help you to resolve the issue.
Solution1:
Add the problematic user to the administrator user group.
Solution2:
-search and back up old *.key and *.lsi
- run supervisor.exe directly on server
- if able to see login page do a save recovery of the bomain.key
- scan repair repository if able to log in
Solution3:
Alternatively copy a bomain.key created from a different computer
Copy a "*.rss" file and save it under the database folder.
The RSS file can be located by going to C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Data Access\
Under the Data Access folder, locate the folder which corresponds to the database you are connecting to. Within that folder you should see an .rss file.
If you still cannot see the file, close Zabo and then re-launch it and open the report. This should recreate the *.rss file that is needed to run the report.
