JBoss RMI call form OC4J

Hi
HAs anybody managed to call an EJB via RMI on a JBoss server from a client running in OC4J (10.xxx) release?
Sample code/any help wil be much appreciated.
Tks
Andre

If both application containing same source then i think you have to do one thing
Set remote="true" in the orion-application.xml file for your application on A. Given this setting, the JSP will not look for EJBs on server A.

  • Error calling remote oc4j from within oc4j

    I'm running a session bean inside one instance of oc4j, and trying to make a remote rmi call to another oc4j instance, but running into a problem.
    When both the "client" side oc4j and server side oc4j are 10.1.3.0.0, everything proceeds smoothly. When the "client" side oc4j is upgraded to 10.1.3.3.0, I get the following error when doing the lookup:
    'TestBean' remote object not found during name lookup
    Caused by: javax.naming.NamingException: Disconnected: oracle.classloader.util.AnnotatedClassNotFoundException:
    Missing class: oracle.oc4j.rmi.interceptors.PropagatedIdentity
    Dependent class: com.evermind.io.ClassLoaderObjectInputStream
    Loader: oc4j:10.1.3
    Code-Source: /C:/java/oc4j/j2ee/home/lib/oc4j-internal.jar
    Configuration: <code-source> in META-INF/boot.xml in C:\java\oc4j\j2ee\home\oc4j.jar
    This load was initiated at testbean.root:0.0.0 using the Class.forName() method.
    The missing class is not available from any code-source or loader in the system.
    at com.evermind.server.rmi.RMIClientContext.lookup(RMIClientContext.java:64)
    Poking around, I found that the 10.1.3 oc4j doesn't contain any "PropagatedIdentity" class, but 10.1.3.3 does contain that class in the oc4j-internal.jar.
    Has anybody been seen this error or know what causes it? I assume that it should be possible to make a remote call from within one oc4j to another oc4j running a different version, but perhaps there's a conflict with the client classloading that prevents this.
    Any input is appreciated.
    Thanks,

    Hi Stephen,
    Using a registry, for example UDDI [1], would be one solution. WLS has
    a complete UDDI implementation builtin [2] for this purpose.
    You are correct, you need to pass the service address location found in
    the <service> section of the WSDL.
    Hope this helps,

    from them. I have successfully written code in the first webservice to instantiate
    the parms to the 2nd webservice and invoked the 2nd webservice when both webservices

  • Calling form from web application

    i use the below url for calling form from web application.

    i would like to know about "frmservlet"

  • File Not found error when calling Form Post Method to a JSP from JSP Portlet

    I have built a set of JSP forms using post method to call other JSPs. Normally, the code looks like
    <form name="MyForm" action="MyJsp.jsp" method="post">
    I migrated the calling form containing this code to a portlet, but not the MyJsp.jsp. When I submit the form, I get a file not found in Jserv.log

    I notice that launching the calling jsp from a portlet, my opriginal context that uses ../Apache/Apache/htdocs is not being searched for the JSp. Why is this? Moreover, I try to set up an Alias in httpd.conf file to the this director and use it with the jsp in the action tag, but still get an error that my jsp servlets/Myjsp can't be found. Why is it insiting on looking at servlets context instead of htdocs.
    I have none of these issues outside of Portal30 using IAS.
    regard

    Initially, I couldn't do this unless I moved tghe jsp's up to the root directory of IAS, i.e ../Apache/Apache. Nomrally, htdocs is my doc directory for IAS. I could not do http:\\myUrl\htdocs\myJsp. If I tgried this, I got an error in Apache error logg that said can't find file ..\htdocs\htdocs\MyJsp.jsp.
    If I just tried the the URL http:\\myUrl\MyJsp.jsp with Jsp file in htdocs, I would get an error in the Jserve log that file d:\oracle\isuites\apache\apache\MyJsp.jsp could not be found. Once I moved the file MyJsp to Apache/Apache directory, it could be found using http:\\myUrl\MyJsp.jsp. Later, I delted these files and kept the ones in htdocs and they continued to work.
    I'm confused why launching pages through portal isn't consistant with Apache Standards. Where is the documentation that tells me how to configure context and aliases for pages launched from portal pages?

  • Called form in query only mode shows messages....

    Hi All,
    I am calling a form (say B ) in query only mode from a main form (say A) . When i query the called form B , i get 5-6 alerts (which has to be acknowledged by the user) and messages of the same error type saying :
    "FRM-40208 : Form running in query only mode . Cannot change database fields. "
    I have a 100 forms to be called from the main form A. So, I prefer not to change anything in the called forms . I tried to set message_level in the form A and code the on-error / on-message triggers to avoid the messages being shown, but nothing is working . Is there anything I can do in Form A i.e the main form ???
    Thanking you in advance.

    Since the error messages are being generated by form B, it is unlikely you will be able to fix form B problem using form A. Unfortunately, you may have to fix each of the 100 called forms.

    P17_ASSIGNMENT_ID is populated from the calling form, but it is not been recognised when the query is run.
    Is there a way to pass values to a query dynamically?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    Most likely :P17_ASSIGNMENT_ID is not set
    To check the value of :P17_ASSIGNMENT_ID you can add it to the query:
    select

    "RESPONSE_ID",
    "ASSIGNMENT_ID",
    "QUESTION_ID",

  • Calling forms from OAS10g on Linux

    We are deploying all forms and reports10g from Windows to Redhat Linux based OAS10g Server.
    Since directory structure / definition is changed in Linux environment and we use "/" in place of "\" <back slash), we have to change path of the call forms according to linux directory structure.
    Because this change need to apply in more than 2000 forms, Is there any way
    to change the directory path in one shot. Is there any utility available in OAS10g or Forms/reports10g builder or in RHEL 4.0-AS ?
    Please help.

    If oyu use CALL_FORM, all called forms-modules are "stacked" above each other, so you can only return to a previous instance using EXIT_FORM.
    You can either use NEW_FORM or OPEN_FORM, both have pro's and con's.

  • RMI call back - How to refer to the client project from the server project?

    Hi, I am working on an RMI assignment which basically needs me to use the RMI call back for the server to notify the clients.
    I have 2 projects , one for the client and another for the server.
    In the client project, I have a client interface and the main client class implements this interface.
    In the server project, I have a server interface and a class that implements this interface.
    I can use the server interface in the client project's code by adding the server project in the path of the client project. it lets me use the server interface in the code if I put "import.." statement.
    But the issue is I can not do the same to access the client interface from within the server project's code. Since that will be a circular reference, the compiler does not let me use the client interface from within the server's code. This is putting me in a great difficulty and I am stuck here. What should I do so that I can use the client interface and the compiler won't complain?
    Thanks for any help..
    Regards.. js

    Let me explain what I tried: I manually generated stub class of the client using the Eclipse IDE as mentioned in my previous message. The StockMSClient_Stub.class got created in my client project.
    The common project has the 2 interfaces - one from the client and one from the server.
    I have added reference to the common project from the client and server projects to use the interfaces.
    With the above mentioned in place, when I run the server project, the registry binding of the server objects is very fine. But I am getting error in the applet at the line where I am passing the client object to the method provided by the server interface. The following is the code snippet in the applet where I am getting the error.

  • RMI call to java in Oracle 8i

    We need to access stored Java classes inside the Oracle 8i (8.1.7) database using RMI from a remote machine. Is this possible? How?
    Basically we have stored PL/SQL procedures/packages we want to create interfaces for (Using JPiblisher) and access them remotely via RMI.

    We need to access stored PL/SQL packages from outside the database via RMI. That's the requirement. First we need to wrap the PL/SQL packages with Java classes (JPublisher can help us here). Then there are, in my opinion, three possible ways to achieve this:
    - direct Java RMI calls
    - CORBA
    - EJB
    Because I need to evaluate all ways, I am just trying the 1st ( I know, not scalable) way - direct RMI calls. I can do a direct RMI call from the database to an outside server. That works fine. My problem is the other way round, to call an object inside 8i. I understand that using CORBA or EJB the Oracle ORB is used (handled by the TNS Listener). Using a direct RMI call I would need to run the RMIREGISTRY program (inside or outside 8i?)...But I have no clue, how this could work.

  • Error when exit by 'X' from called form

    I am in a form and I call another form. I delete something on the called form then click the 'X' in the right hand corner of the form without saving my change first - a message is displayed QMS-00158: Do you want to save your changes? When I click on 'Yes' a window appears with a title that says 'Errors and Warnings in this transaction' with no other information - when I select 'OK' the window remains displayed and a message at the bottom of the screen says "FRM-40738 Argument 1 to builtin GO_BLOCK cannot be null" - the only way to close the window is to click on the called form and exit it then everything is OK.
    If I save my changes first everything is fine - it is only when I try to exit the called form before saving that this happens.
    Any ideas of why?

    Hi Pradeep,
    I am facing the same issue, Can you please give me some inputs on this..

  • Connection timed out when making RMI call

    Hello,
    I am using a combination of Spring Remoting and Scheduling with Quartz Timer. Both are using RMI as a communication stack. The RMI server is located in sydney while the client is located in the US. This incurs large network lag which causes my RMI method calls to timeout. I am able to do a lookup on the RMI object and receive a stub reference to it with no problem but as soon as I try to invoke a remote method on that stub it eventually times out.
    Thinking it was truly a timeout issue I implemented a Custom socket factory for RMI using RMISocketFactory.setSocketFactory(new TimeoutSocketFactory(120000));Here is the custom TimeoutSocketFactory:
    public class TimeoutSocketFactory extends RMISocketFactory {
            private int timeout;
            private static final Logger log = Logger.getLogger(TimeoutSocketFactory.class);
            public TimeoutSocketFactory(int timeout) {
                this.timeout = timeout;
            public Socket createSocket(String host, int port) throws IOException {
                log.debug("Creating timeout socket with value - " + timeout);
                Socket ret = getDefaultSocketFactory().createSocket(host, port);
                ret.setSoTimeout(timeout);
                return ret;
            public ServerSocket createServerSocket(int port) throws IOException {
                ServerSocket ss = getDefaultSocketFactory().createServerSocket(port);
                ss.setSoTimeout(timeout);
                return ss;
    }I implemented the custom socket factory both on the RMI server and on the RMI client. This had no effect on the time outs that occured when trying to make an RMI call to the server even though the sockets were being built by this custom class (have logging in place).
    Is there something else I need to do to increase the timeout period? And how do I know if it's a server or a client issue?
    Thanks,
    Anthony Bargnesi

    Well this is a connect timeout, not a read timeout, so it has nothing to do with your socket factory, and your socket factory won't help. It's a connectivity issue. Can you ping that host from the client? Can you telnet to port 7?
    In fact no socket factory will help because there is no way of increasing the connect timeout beyond the default: you can only reduce it.

  • Open_form with session causing deadlock after commit is applied in called form

    Hi all,
    i am using forms 10g r2. i have two forms say A and B. I am calling form B from A using open_form built-in with session_mode is set to session. Form opening without error and i can update execute queries and insert records on both forms but.
    Let say i make some changes on form A and then without committing them i am jumping to form B and making some changes here on form B also i commit these changes which i made on form B and here form hangs and i could not do anything. By checking into session table i found that row is locked in the block of form A where i left the changes un-saved. What i think this should not happen because if both the forms are open in separate sessions then why form is placing lock over another opened form changes. I solved this problem when i changed locking mode property of Block at form A to DELAYED. Then it was OK. Is it the default behavior or something is wrong in my forms.

    This is not the kind of problem that lends itself well to a forum like this one. I have never seen this be a plug-in specific problem and I would be very surprised if it turned out to be. Please call Oracle Customer Support and ask them to analyze your problem.
