JButton's properties don't change!!

Question

Hi!!
Here's the sample code
TestLabel() {
     super("Go-Back-N Simulation");
     getContentPane().setLayout(new GridBagLayout());
     GridBagConstraints gbc = new GridBagConstraints();
     gbc.fill = GridBagConstraints.BOTH;
     gbc.weightx = 0;
     JPanel bottomPanel = new JPanel();
     pauseButton = new JButton("Pause");
     pauseButton.addActionListener(new ActionListener() {
          public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) {
//ANIMATION STUFF HERE
     JButton sendButton = new JButton("Send");
     sendButton.addActionListener(new ActionListener() {
              public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) {
                        pauseButton.setText("New Text");
     bottomPanel.add(sendButton);
     bottomPanel.add(pauseButton);
     addUsingGBL(bottomPanel, gbc, 0, 8, 3, 1, 0.0);
private void addUsingGBL(Component component, GridBagConstraints gbc,
                    int x, int y, int gridwidth, int gridheight, double weightty) {
}pauseButton's text does not change when I press the sendButton.....Why? I tried revalidating, repainting pauseButton and also the parent frame....still does not work....

Then it should work for yourOtherButton.setText("new text"); // the method is fine
Work through your code - have you declared it twice for instance?
