JCA Custom Adapter for SMTP

Hello,
I am trying to write a JCA custom adapter that makes outbound connection to an email server using SMTP protocol. Would you please point me to a link where this is discussed? I have already looked at http://www.theserverside.com/tt/articles/article.tss?l=J2EE1_4 but this site did not have full working code.
Thanks in advance,
Mustafa

Hi,
I have written a custom connector for crud operations to a table in Oracle DB. The custom code class uses oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver which is present in ojdbc14.jar. I have placed this jar in ThirdParty folder of the OIM installation but I am still getting an SQLException while connecting to the DB as my custom code is unable to find the required class. Can someone guide me to some documentation that will help me get over this?
Thanks,
SaieshWhich version of OIM you are in? Also you dont need to copy ojdbc14.jar as this exists already in OIM.

    Hi guys !!!
    I have some troubles with the creation of a new custom adapter for NW 7.1. I have followed some pdf and notes, like :

    I have all the materials to make the custom Adapter ( like file .sca with all .rar and .sda , like file sample_ra.rar with all the file .java, like all the libs for the projects ) and I have make it !!! But, when I try do deploy it, i recieve a warning that i don't understand, this is the warning :

    I have see in the nwa if there are some applications or services that are stopped but all the necessary it's started, just one question : in the pdf for upgrade from 7.0 to 7.1 no one speaks about ejBean or about a creation of it ... it's necessary an ejBean ?? Beacause in the file .sda of the file .sca that i have downloaded there are more of the adapter with ejBean ....

  • How to create custom adapter for plugin

    we have class library file, which gives the different format of data set result depending on the input. We wand to create the custom adapter for this to get data from class library. Please help me.

    Hi,
    Writing perfect custom adapter is not an easy task because you will have to take care of many things.
    So, I believe you should think of some workaround(any other way) to meet your requirement. Like writing pipeline component, receiving input in streams or any other technique.
    In case you want to write custom adapter refer below links-

  • Custom Adapter for Inbound Operations never invoked

    Hi,
    I created a custom J2CA Resource Adapter for Inbound operations. I implemented javax.resource.spi.ResourceAdapter interface with all required methods - start(BootstrapContext), endpointActivation(MessageEndpointFactory, ActivationSpec), etc.
    I created the appropriate WSDL file according Adapter Development Cookbook. Below is an excerpt from it:
    <definitions targetNamespace="urn:Adapter" .......>
      <message name="Notification">
        <part name="Notification_Part" element="ns1:Svc"/>
      </message>
      <message name="Header">
        <part name="Header_Part" element="ServiceHeader"/>
      </message>
      <portType name="EventsQueue_ptt">
        <operation name="Dequeue">
          <input message="tns:Notification"/>
        </operation>
      </portType>
      <binding name="NotificationService" type="tns:EventsQueue_ptt">
        <jca:binding/>
        <operation name="Dequeue">
          <jca:operation ActivationSpec="acme.ActivationSpec"/>
          <input>
            <jca:header message="tns:Header" part="Header_Part"/>
          </input>

          <jca:address ResourceAdapter="acme.AdapterClass"/>
        </port>
      </service>
    </definitions>I created a BPEL process with a partner link based on this WSDL and linked a Receive activity with it. According Adapter Concepts Guide here is what should happen when the BPEL process is deployed and started:
    - The ResourceAdapter class name and the ActivationSpec parameter are captured in the WSDL extension section of the J2CA inbound interaction WSDL Adapter Integration with BPEL Process Manager Adapter Integration with Oracle Application Server Components 5-7 during design time and made available to BPEL Process Manager and Adapter Framework during run time.
    - An instance of the J2CA 1.5 ResourceAdapter class is created and the Start method of the J2CA ResourceAdapter class is called.
    - Each inbound interaction operation referenced by the BPEL Process Manager processes results in invoking the EndPointActivation method of the J2CA 1.5 ResourceAdapter instance. Adapter Framework creates the ActivationSpec class (Java Bean) based on the ActivationSpec details present in the WSDL extension section of the J2CA inbound interaction and activates the endpoint of the J2CA 1.5 resource adapter.
    The problem is that start(BootstrapContext) and endpointActivation(MessageEndpointFactory, ActivationSpec) seem never to be invoked, the adapter is never initialized and at some point the Receive activity of the BPEL process times-out.
    I put some debug System.out.println statements in these methods, but nothing appeared in the server log.
    I'm using Oracle SOA Suite 10.1.3.1.
    I will be grateful for any suggestions.

    Hi,

Can someone guide me to some documentation that will help me get over this?

  • How to create custom adapter for Products and CommerceService

    Hi guys!
    First of all I wanted to say that I did search. Only relevant material I found was this http://dev.day.com/docs/en/cq/5-5/ecommerce/eCommerce-framework.html
    Unfortunately it doesn't go in details enough...
    I'm trying to follow geometrixx-outdoors example to create my shoppingCart. I have a list of of products in /etc/commerce/products.... referenced by productPage in content.
    But I don't know how to create custom CommerceProvider and Adapter to create proper Product objects - it always picks up geoProductImpl.
    As I understand I need to specify cq:commerceProvider to myProvider and then I need to somehow register MyProvider so it gets picked up.
    Also I guess I need to add MyProductAdapter somehow  so when shoppingCart executes following it returns my implementation instead of geoProductImpl.
    Product product = productResource.adaptTo(Product.class);
    I'd really appreciate if anyone could share an example or point me in the right direction for a guide.
    Cheers

    Hi Kostya,
        Look at this presentation recorded at http://dev.day.com/ddc/en/gems/commerce-framework.html

  • Custom Adapter - No content in Communication channel Monitoring for JCA

    HI,
         We have developed a Custom Adapter for our client in XI with name JCA and it is working absolutely fine.
         Issue: We are not getting any entries in Communication Channel Monitoring for success or Error Messages.
         We have used Audit log for success or Failure entries and they are coming fine in Messaging System but there coule be a standard way to get entries in Channel Monitoring.
        Our client needs the entries in CC monitoring instead of Customised Audit Logs.
        Please help.
    REgards,
    Anurag Garg

    HI Satish,
                     Thanks for answer. I am looking for this in Custom Adpater not in adapter module.
                     This log  creates a trace  File . Its not to do with getting messages in CC monitoring as we do get for File Adapter or other Adapters.
                   Like- Message Successfully put into the queue.
                         -  Successfully processed.
                     Such Messages are there in sample_ra. jar file code but they are not visible in CC Monitoring.
                   I think some extra code needs to be added to activate this in Monitoring.
                   Please suggest.

  • How and when the realDelete method gets called for a custom adapter?

    Hi,
    I am a newbie in sun identity manager and is in the process of writing a custom adapter for documentum resource.
    While I am successful in creating the resource,then provisioning the resource to an user(i.e creating an account of the user on documentum ) updating the user through idm I am not being able to deprovision the resource.
    Actually in the trace I am not seeing the realDelete method getting called anywhere,but I am sure if it gets called it would do its designated job bcos as a standalone code it's working.
    Does this mean I am not properly doing deprovisioning in sun-idm?
    What method I am employing is in the assignment list of the user,i am putting the resource from assigned to unassigned side(i.e right to left side) just as in case of provisioning I have put it from left to right.
    Is it the standard way of deprovisioning or am I missing something here?
    Any sort of help would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks

    You need to read that manual with more caution. It has all info you need.
    1. Table modification info stays in shared pool and flushed into dictionary by Oracle automatically. You can explicity do it by calling dbms_stats.flush_database_monitoring_info.
    2. dba_tab_modifications view = How many DML are applied to target table?
    dba_tab_statistics.stale_stats = Is statistics stale?
    3. When you call dbms_stats.gather... familiy, Oracle flushed the stale info to disk. You gnerally don't need to care about that.
    4. Statistics is considered to be stale, when the change is over 10% of current rows.
    (As of 11g, this value can be customized per objects. Cool feature)
    create table t_stat(id int);
    insert into t_stat select rownum from all_objects where rownum <= 100;
    commit;
    exec dbms_stats.gather_table_stats(user, 'T_STAT');
    select * from sys.dba_tab_modifications where table_name = 'T_STAT';
    No row selected
    select stale_stats from sys.dba_tab_statistics where table_name = 'T_STAT';
    NO
    insert into t_stat select rownum from all_objects where rownum <= 20;
    select * from sys.dba_tab_modifications where table_name = 'T_STAT';
    No rows selected <-- Oops
    select stale_stats from sys.dba_tab_statistics where table_name = 'T_STAT';

    exec dbms_stats.flush_database_monitoring_info;

  • Adding custom Adapter information Parameters for Oracle Inbound Telephony

    Hello,
    I am implementing a custom adapter for Oracle Inbound telephony. I need to configure a few information parameters for my custom adapter. I am using the "Adapter Server Info <1-6>" fields on the Call Center html administration page (under the "Middleware" section). But I need to configure more than 6 parameters for my adapter. Does anyone know if we can add more "Adapter Server Info" fields?

    You may explore using a BPEL process to set the so header for calling the web service instead of directly calling it from BPMN process.
    Steps.
    1)Create a BPEL process.
    2)Select the checkbox "Expose as a SOAP service"
    3)In the BPEL process, set the SOAP header parameters that are expected by the called web service.
    Refer section
    6.22.2 How to Send SOAP Headers in BPEL
    of
    Oracle® Fusion Middleware
    Developer’s Guide for Oracle SOA Suite
    11g Release 1 (11.1.1.6.3)
    E10224-15
    4)Now in your BPM web service adapter , instead of calling the web service directly, call the web service endpoint of the newly created BPEL process.
    Hope this helps.

  • FTP adapter for Oracle Service Bus  - retrieve file by dynamic file name.

    Hi
    I am newbie in OSB. I try to use FTP transport in Workshop, it must fill in "Prefix" and "Suffix" for destination file name.
    But for us, the file name is sent by external systems.
    The workflow is:
    1. External system call our proxy services.
    2. Proxy service get file name from SOAP message.
    3. Proxy Service get the file from FTP server.
    4. The file send to Business services.
    Any suggestions to implement about workflows?

    Let me first put here what I understand about the flow:
    External Sytem -->(filename)--> OSB HTTP PS --> (1) --> OSB FTP BS --> Read file based on filename
    |--> (2) --> send file ontent to another system or return to the original system
    If that is the flow, then I beileve ther is no straight forward way to implement it in OSB.
    OSB FTP BS will only write a file to FTP Location.
    If you create a JCA FTP Adapter for reading the file, then you can use it only to create a Proxy Service, and that proxy will not pick up the file when called from another service but only when a file is put on the source FTP location.
    So, to implement the solution you will need to use Java Callout to a class which has code written to accept the file name as input, read the file from an FTP location and return the file content.
    This is my understanding of how it is, may be there is another way to implement this or in fact may be the latest version of OSB 11.1.1.4 or 11.1.1.5 JCA adapter does support read operation within a flow instead of just at the start of the flow.

  • Deploy custom adapter PI 7.1

    Hi Experts,
    We developed a custom adapter for PI 7.1.
    Now we need to deploy it in a PI system that cannot be connected to a NW Developer Studio. Is there another way to do this deploy?
    In PI 7.0 we use to deploy through the Visual Administrator. Since VA is not available in PI 7.1, which tool should we use?

    You first create the EAR file as per document below (which also has many other information about custom module creation)
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/c0b39e65-981e-2b10-1c9c-fc3f8e6747fa?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true
    Then convert it to SDA as per following link
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/20a221c6-3943-2e10-5198-dada408de5ac?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true
    And finally you can deploy using JSPM. Since 7.1 versions don't have SDM, you need to convert the EAR files into SDA in order to be able to deploy it.

  • Singleton JCA DB Adapter in OSB

    Hi,
    I am planning to use the JCA DB Adapter for polling insert/update events in a database in OSB 11g. Basically I am creating the jca adapter in JDeveloper, then generate the proxy service from OEP Eclipse and import the project into OSB. The Proxy is working fine by polling the events, but it needs to run in cluster and so I want to know how to make the adapter as a singleton ?
    Any thoughts are really appreciated.
    Thanks!

    aren't the default cluster aware settings enough for this ?
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E15523_01/integration.1111/e10231/adptr_db.htm
    Scalability
    you could enable a few in the adapter wizards

  • Where are attribute values when developing custom adapter?

    Hello,
    I am developing custom adapter for IDM 8. When the server wants to make reconciliation it calls method listObjects in my case and getUser. I wanted to ask if I am able to get values attributes of user which is passed to this method as parameter. Also how it is in general possible to get values of attributes in these methods. There is schemaMap which Maps names of resource attributes to IDM attributes (their names) but where do I get the values? Thank you very much for help.
    Martin
    PS: I have extended schema so not only AccountId which can be called by accountId = getIdentity(user). I need other atributes too.

    I have assigned work to implement custom adapter that can talk to our target applications? Can you please let me know the steps I need to follow to implement custom connector?
    Thanks

  • Developing adapter for PowerPivot

    Hi experts,
    I'm planning to develop a custom adapter for PowerPivot to enable connection to a third party database.  Can anyone point me to the right direction as a starting point for me?
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Gerd

    Hi Gerd,
    PowerPivot for Excel can import data from a variety of sources, you can take a look at the article regarding supported data source:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg399082.aspx. Does all of data sources not meet your requirement?
    It's not easy to develop a custom provider for PowerPivot for Excel, and I'm not a expert in this field. Sorry for can't provide some useful information regarding this issue, but maybe we can find out a workaround if you can elaborate your issue/requirement
    with more detail.

  • Payload Streaming (for handling large payload) in Oracle JCA Adapter for AQ

    Hi All-
    Oracle Documentation indicates that it supports Payload Streaming in Oracle JCA Adapter for AQ. Link http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/integration.1111/e10231/adptr_aq.htm#CBAIAABF
    However when I tried configuring an AQ Adapter in Jdeveloper, I was not able to see the check box for enabling Payload Streaming.
    Do we have to manually update the .jca file to add the property "EnableStreaming" in the AQ Adapter Activation Spec? Is it supported and is it going to work?
    What is the Message Size limit that the AQ Adapter can handle?
    Please let me know.
    Thanks,
    Dibya

    If the StreamPayload property does not exist, then the default value false is assumed.
    <activation-spec className="oracle.tip.adapter.aq.inbound.AQDequeueActivationSpec">
    <property name="QueueName" value="RAW_IN_QUEUE"/>
    <property name="DatabaseSchema" value="SCOTT"/>
    <property name="StreamPayload" value="true"/>
    </activation-spec>
    you can add <property name="StreamPayload" value="true"/>
    to the .jca file but rememeber This property is applicable when processing Raw messages, XMLType messages, and ADT type messages for which a payload is specified though an ADT attribute.

  • Setting up JDBC Data Source for JCA Database Adapter  in WLS - only SID?

    Following the documentation for setting up a connection for use with the JCA Database Adapter (http://otnbeta.oracle.com/fmw11g/582tj30eapvb/integration.1111/e10231/life_cycle.htm), section 2.4.1, Step 8 simply says "Enter the connection properties in the Connection Properties page, and then click Next"
    In the "Create a New JDBC Data Source" screen of the WLS Administration Console there is the entry field vaguely labeled as "Database Name:" Of course I entered the Oracle RDBMS service name (which we should ALWAYS be using), only to be informed upon clicking next, that WLS was expecting the SID.
    Two things:
    1. At least through this maintenance console, it appears that BEA did not understand the whole concept or value of Oracle RDBMS logical service names versus the SID (I have seen this in several products that Oracle has acquired). Best practice would be to use the Oracle RDBMS service name, which doesn't appear to be an option in this console.
    2. The OFM documentation should be more helpful in explaining.

    Compare to the analogous setup in OAS 10.1.3.4/EM... far better clarity in the maintenance console and option of either SID or service name.
