Jce under weblogic

hi,
i have used jce1.2.2 for an application deployed on weblogic server. It throws an exception:
java.lang.ExceptionInInitializerError: java.lang.SecurityException: Cannot set up certs for trusted CAs: java.lang.SecurityException: Cannot locate policy and/or framework files for signer restraint check!
at javax.crypto.SunJCE_b.<clinit>(DashoA6275)
at javax.crypto.Cipher.a(DashoA6275)
at javax.crypto.Cipher.getInstance(DashoA6275)
AT line:
cipher = Cipher.getInstance ("DES");
any gusses?

Sounds like it can't find your policy files. Following is a listing of my jre/lib/security directory. Compare it to yours and see if you are missing anything.

  • Setting up OIM to start as a Windows Service running under Weblogic 10.3.2

    Hi,
    On recommendation from our Oracle Rep. we have begun migrating our existing OIM installation on Oracle AS to a Weblogic Application Server. As such we are looking for a way to get the OIM application to run as a service in windows - so we dont have to start it manually after a reboot and so that system monitoring can alert us if/when the application crashes for some reason.
    I have asked Oracle support - which basically said that no such howto/documentation exists and that "One needs to debug on their own when face any issue." (whatever the h*** that means).
    I was thinking that we werent the first customers trying to get the OIM webapplication to start automatically under weblogic and that someone must have figured out a way to accomplish this ?
    Any advice on how to do this will be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you in advance.
    /Jacob

    Hi Jacob,
    See this post that I answered few time ago. Re: Keeping Remote Manager running - Windows
    Our OIM is running as a Windows Service.

  • Oracle Portal returns 500 error running under Weblogic 11g server

    I've got Oracle Portal set up under Weblogic 11g.
    SSO running, talking to OID 11g, also running under the same Weblogic 11g server. Tested SSO, it is working well.
    After the install (no errors or issue on install), I go to http://<server>:8090/portal/pls/portal and geta Error 500 - Internal Server Error.
    I traced down the problem to OHS - in ohs1.log:

    So the problem is favicon.ico is missing, which I confirmed. Does this mean a bad deployment of an .EAR file? What should I do?

  • Display Chinese characters on JSP under WebLogic 6.1

    We've recently migrated from WebLogic 5.1 to 6.1 and we found that all those
    Chinese JSP pages cannot display properly under Solaris, but it works on
    some Windows 2000 machines (but everything work under 5.1).
    However we haven't made any special changes to any configuration in all
    these machines. Why some of them work and some of them doesn't ? Those W2K
    machines work are running English version of Windows 2000, but with Chinese
    character sets installed.
    Our Chinese JSP pages use big5 character encoding instead of unicode.
    I've read a number of messages in this newsgroup but I'm still very
    confusing on how to fix the problem ...

    Hi,
    I have the same problem here. I am using weblogic 6.1 on W2k server. I save
    prpblem from those static contents in the jsp file, but those data in chinese
    from oracle database is working fine. I create a simple jsp file just with a simple
    text "hello world" in chinese, I save one as a html and one as a jsp. When I run
    this two under weblogic 6.1, the html file display correctly but the jsp is not.
    I try "UTF-8", "GB2312" and other charsets but all not working with jsp files.
    Please help.... Thank you.

    Dear Ricky,
    Could you please check the following :
    If you are on Sun Solaris systems please check the LC values of your
    =
    environment as shown in example below.
    This is the cause of many troubles due to the fact that the JVM =
    considers these parameters to encode.
    (example given for Italian display, so I guess for you this will be =
    Big5)
    On Solaris 7 the right settings are=20
    LC_COLLATE=3Dit.ISO8859-15
    LC_CTYPE=3Dit.ISO8859-15
    LC_MESSAGES=3Dit
    LC_MONETARY=3Dit.ISO8859-15
    LC_NUMERIC=3Dit.ISO8859-15
    LC_TIME=3Dit.ISO8859-15=20
    on Solaris 8=20
    LC_COLLATE=3Dit_IT.ISO8859-1
    LC_CTYPE=3Dit_IT.ISO8859-1
    LC_MESSAGES=3Dit
    LC_MOLC_COLLATE=3Dit.ISO8859-15
    LC_NUMERIC=3Dit_IT.ISO8859-1
    LC_TIME=3Dit_IT.ISO8859-1
    Also another point to check is=20
    In All Weblogic Releases :
    You can add the flag -Dfile.encoding=3DUTF8 in the startup line to force
    =
    default encoding in the JVM
    In your Webloigc 5.1 property file
    # WEBLOGIC CHARACTERS PROPERTIES
    weblogic.httpd.inputCharset./russian/*=3DISO-8859-5
    weblogic.httpd.inputCharset./utf/*=3DUTF-8
    weblogic.httpd.inputCharset./french/*=3DISO-8859-1
    weblogic.httpd.inputCharset./japan*=3DShift_JIS
    # FOR ENCODING THE WHOLE SITE IN UTF-8, UNCOMMENT THE FOLLOWING LINE
    #weblogic.httpd.inputCharset./*=3DUTF-8
    In your weblogic.xml's Weblogic 6.1 and later :
    <weblogic-web-app>=20

    <input-charset>=20
    <resource-path>/japan*</resource-path>=20

    </weblogic-web-app>
    As you may have noted, the ressouce-path is starting from root, and =
    after you insert the directory where you want to define de encoding.
    This will influence the JVM when performing a compilation (please clean
    =
    the temp directories from any compiled jsps before re-starting your =

    Please reply in the forum is you still face the problem after all these

  • Insert CLOB into oracle under weblogic

    Situation: running my servlet under weblogic, want to insert more than 4000 characters into CLOB of oracle 8.1.7
    Problem: cannot be done by using code which is able to do it under tomcat
    i use this code in tomcat:
    import java.sql.*;
    import oracle.sql.CLOB;
    import oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleResultSet;
    con.setAutoCommit(false);
    Statement stmt = con.createStatement();
    rs = stmt.executeQuery("SELECT clob_field FROM table where rid=id FOR UPDATE");
    rs.next();
    CLOB clob = ((OracleResultSet)rs).getCLOB(1);
    Writer writer = clob.getCharacterOutputStream();
    writer.write(dataString);
    writer.close()l
    con.commit();
    con.setAutoCommit(true);
    stmt.close();
    after that i know that i can't use API of oracle when i'm using weblogic (e.g. oracle.sql.CLOB)
    and i find this code from other user:
    import weblogic.jdbc.vendor.oracle.OracleThinClob;
    import java.io.*;
    import java.sql.*;
    PreparedStatement stmt = con.prepareStatement ( "INSERT INTO database VALUES ( ?, EMPTY_CLOB() )" );
    stmt.setInt ( 1, 1 );
    // inserts a new entry with an empty clob object
    stmt.executeUpdate ();
    if ( stmt != null )
    stmt.close();
    // retrieves CLOB-Object
    stmt = con.prepareStatement ( "SELECT clob_field FROM database WHERE id=?" );
    stmt.setInt ( 1, 1 );
    ResultSet rs = stmt.executeQuery ( );
    if ( rs.next() )
    Clob cl = rs.getClob(1);
    Writer clobWriter = ((OracleThinClob)cl).getCharacterOutputStream();
    // Open the sample file as a stream for insertion into the Clob column
    File testFile = new File ( "file.txt" );
    FileReader testReader = new FileReader ( testFile );
    // buffer to hold data to being written to the clob.
    char[] cBuffer = new char[((OracleThinClob)cl).getBufferSize()];
    // Read data from file, write it to clob
    int iRead = 0;
    while( (iRead= testReader.read(cBuffer)) != -1 )
    clobWriter.write( cBuffer, 0, iRead);
    testReader.close();
    clobWriter.close();
    if ( rs != null )
    rs.close();
    if ( stmt != null )
    stmt.close();
    // update clob-data in database
    stmt = con.prepareStatement ( "UPDATE database SET clob_field = ? WHERE id = ?" );
    stmt.setClob ( 1, cl );
    stmt.setInt ( 2, 1 );
    stmt.executeUpdate();
    it throws java.lang.ClassCastException: oracle.sql.CLOB
    but i haven't imported or used any API from oracle.........
    please help
    thanks

    hi,
    unfortunatly, you can't do this with welbogic6.1 because it 'manage' itself oracle librairies (weblogic.jar),
    here is the way i solved the pb for BLOB :
    i replaced :
    BLOB blob = ((OracleResultSet)rs).getBLOB(1);
    by
    weblogic.jdbc.rmi.SerialOracleBlob cast1 =(weblogic.jdbc.rmi.SerialOracleBlob)rs.getBlob("myBlob");
    weblogic.jdbc.rmi.internal.OracleTBlobImpl cast2 =(weblogic.jdbc.rmi.internal.OracleTBlobImpl)cast1.getTheRealBlob();
    BLOB myBlob = (oracle.sql.BLOB)cast2.getTheRealBlob();
    it is the same for clob (i suppose ^_^)
    hope this helps !
    Badr.

  • Problems with JSSE under Weblogic 5.1 sp9

    I have a java application which uses JSSE to communicate with a WebMethods server

  • Double submission problem in J2EE application under Weblogic 8.1 SP2 server

    Hi,
    We are facing double submission problem in our J2EE application which is running under Weblogic 8.1 SP2 and for the same we already implemented or added the below preventive solutions.
    1. We disable the SUBMIT button once the user clicks it.
    2. We preventated pressing 'F5' button and clicking 'Refresh' button in the browser.
    3. Also we tried to prevent by declaring the idempotent is 'true' under weblogic-ejb-jar.xml as below.
    <stateless-bean-methods-are-idempotent>true</stateless-bean-methods-are-idempotent>
    So please somebody help us on this issue like how to prevent in some other way.
    Regards,
    Dinesh.

    I have no idea why you would think changing your EJB configuration would have anything to do with preventing double submission at your servlet layer.
    One technique I've seen for preventing double submission was first used in the Struts framework several years ago. When a page is "prepared" for display, a token value is created and stored in the session. The page is displayed with a hidden field containing that value. When the page is submitted, the value of the hidden field is compared with the value stored in the session. If they're not equal, the submission is ignored.

  • Purging application logs automatically under Weblogic servers

    Hi,
    I am trying to explore purging options in Weblogic server.
    Could someone help me in finding a setting(if there is one) under Weblogic properties files, which will purge Application logs automatically after 'n' number of days.
    for example in D:\Hyperion\deployments\WebLogic9\servers\aas\logs directory, I see a lot of eas log files created with extensions from .log00001 to .log00427. Is there any way of removing these automatically without using any other windows scripts.
    Thanks
    Prasad

    This is configured within each server's Logging tab ( Servers -> server_name -> Logging ). Set the rotation type to "Time", files to retain, and rotation interval ( default 24 hours ), etc. This will keep the files to a fixed count.

  • How To Run OIM Under Weblogic As A Windows Service?

    Hi
    does anyone know how to run OIM under Weblogic as a windows service?
    Many thanks in advance,

    Hi
    Does anyone know how to run OIM under Weblogic as a windows service?
    I have used "Setting Up a WebLogic Server Instance as a Windows Service" (http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/web.1111/e13708/winservice.htm#START143), but It doesn't work because OIM use the xlStartWLS.cmd file and not startWebLogic.cmd.
    thanks!

  • Dummy question: how to make html file working under weblogic

    I created a file called register.html, and I put it under
    weblogic\myserver\public_html directory, but when I try to access from the
    browser, I get the following error:
    From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
    10.4.5 404 Not Found
    The server has not found anything matching the Request-URI. No indication is
    given of whether the condition is temporary or permanent.
    If the server does not wish to make this information available to the
    client, the status code 403 (Forbidden) can be used instead. The 410 (Gone)
    status code SHOULD be used if the server knows, through some internally
    configurable mechanism, that an old resource is permanently unavailable and
    has no forwarding address.
    What should I do to make this html file working?
    Thank you for any help.

  • Turning "RunConversionVisibly" on under WebLogic

    I'm trying to debug a PDFG problem that is happening on a client site.  I would like to turn on the "RunConversionVisibly" flag.  I have instructions on how to do this in JBoss (using the jmxconsole app to change this MBean property on the PDFMaker service).  I have also managed to perform the same operation using the Java jconsole app under JBoss however I've been unable to utilize jconsole to turn this flag on under WebLogic.
    I'm able to connect jconsole to Weblogic however I don't see the adobe.com MBean.  Just like under JBos, I can see JMImplementation, java.lang and java.util.logging MBeans.  I can also see Security and com.bea MBeans, but no adobe,com MBean.
    The client is running LiveCycle 8.2.1 SP3,WebLogic 10.0, Windows 2003 64-bit, MS SQL Server 2005 SP1.
    How can I turn on "RunConversionVisibly" under WebLogic?
    Rob

    This appears to be (yet another) bug in ADE2.0/2.0.1, that (randomly?) effect some people, but not all.
    Easiest solution is to install the olver version.
    ~~~~~~~~~
    There are lots of bugs in ADE2.0 (and 2.0.1).  Try replacing ADE2.0 with the older but more reliable v1.7.2.
    (You can have them both installed at once if you like.)
    Version 1.7.2, it is a little difficult to find, available on Adobe site for Windows and for Mac.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/digital-editions/kb/cant-install-digital-editions.html
    The forum software is sometimes corrupting the link above.  There shouldn't be a blank in 'editio ns.html'.  The following redirects to the same page: http://tinyurl.com/diged172
    Some people have found ADE trying to upgrade automatically.
    It appears (not 100% sure) that if you install ADE2.0 as a new install (not as an upgrade) that your 1.7.2 will continue to run.
    Probably best to say no if 2.0.x installation asks if you want to migrate your library.
  • Need help with getResource() problem under weblogic 6.1
    Hey all,
              I've got a serious problem that I can't figure out. This should be really
              simple - but it's alluding me. I have an ear file with a number of servlets
              inside it. This ear file also contains a resource that my servlets want to
              read from. This resource is located (within the ear file) at:
              "/content/structure/a.txt". The file contains raw ascii.
              To have my serlvet read from this file, I thought it would be as simple as:
              URL content =
              servlet.getServletContext().getResource("/content/structure/a.txt");
              // pw is an instance of PrintWriter
              pw.print(content.getContent());
              However, when I execute the above I get the following exception:
              java.lang.NullPointerException
              at
              java.net.URLConnection.stripOffParameters(URLConnection.java:1011)
              at java.net.URLConnection.getContentHandler(URLConnection.java:979)
              at java.net.URLConnection.getContent(URLConnection.java:581)
              OK, so fine - I figure that I'm new to this. The documentation for the URL
              class tells me there is another way around this. It says that rather then
              calling getContent() directly, I can open a stream on the URL and read from
              that, like so:
              URL content =
              servlet.getServletContext().getResource("/content/structure/scenario2resourc
              es.txt");
              FileInputStream fis = content.openStream();
              but when I do this I get the following different exception:
              java.lang.ClassCastException: weblogic.utils.zip.SafeZipFileInputStream^M
              at Utility.writeFileToOutput(Utility.java:134)^M
              Apparently this thing is trying to return a web-logic-specific stream (which
              is incompatible with an FileInputStream) - which I don't want to use or
              learn about since I want my stuff to work under other webservers.
              Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? This should be simple.
    Wenjin,
              I appreciate your response. I tried treating it as a normal InputStream -
              but it didn't make any difference. Here's what I did:
              URL content =
              servlet.getServletContext().getResource("/content/structure/scenario2resourc
              es.txt");
              InputStream is = (InputStream)content.getContent();
              And here's the exception:
              java.lang.NullPointerException^M
              at
              java.net.URLConnection.stripOffParameters(URLConnection.java:1011)^M
              at
              java.net.URLConnection.getContentHandler(URLConnection.java:979)^M
              at java.net.URLConnection.getContent(URLConnection.java:554)^M
              at java.net.URL.getContent(URL.java:807)^M
              at Utility.writeFileToOutput(Utility.java:134)^M
              You can see that it is definitely breaking somewhere in getContent().
              If you have any other ideas, I'd appreciate hearing about them.
              -john
  • Detection portlet backing file under weblogic portal
    Hi all
    I am try to work out a interportlet communication example under instruction listed below
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13218_01/wlp/docs92/portlets/ipc.html#wp1025202
    Everything works fine until add action to a backing file. I cannot find such option under event handler wizard. From the documentation, it mentions that
    "The Invoke BackingFile selection will not appear unless a backing file is detected by WebLogic Portal. "
    Is any way that can trigger weblogic portal to detect particular backing file? or any example that I can refer to setup such action manually?
    Any help would be apprectiate, thanks.
    Hello Wayne,
    The WebLogic Portal forum is a better place to ask WLP questions:
    WebLogic Portal
    However, to answer your question, you can add a backing file to the portlet in Workshop, or manually in the .portlet file as described (at the bottom of the section) here:
  • Solaris Server VM under Weblogic 7.0 sp1
    I have noticed that bea has dropped platform support
    for the Sun SPARC Solaris Server VM (java 1.3 -server option)
    and only allows the use of the client VM (-hotspot)
    I was under the impression that -server mode was much more scalable than -hotspot
    mode, which is now the only option
    on solaris.
    Has anyone tried using -server mode under with weblogic 7
    with any success or greater performance?
    Matt
    I heard for corporate customers there is a patch for weblogic 7 with that you can
    use jdk141.
    Am i right?
    If you need 1.4 then you should upgrade to 8.1
    Everything worked fine when I used 1.31 java, or earlier. Does anybodyknow
    what's going on here? How do I fix this. It would be crucial to getit working
    with 1.41 java because there's another problem with TimeZones that supposedly
    is fixed in 1.41...
