JCheckBox and identation of sub-elements

I wonder how I can layout a list of checkboxes with sub elements, like a list of checkboxes again (see my ASCII art figure). The sub elements should be indented like the label of the checkbox above.
I can't use a static value for this indentation, since the size of the icon depends on the L'n'F. On the other side I don't want to loose the connection between the label and the checkbox (means I want to select the checkbox by clicking on the label).
Any suggestions?
o First choice
   o Sub choice 1
   o Sub choice 2
o Second choiceRegards,
Leif

The arrangement is indeed fixed. But as I create the checkbox with the following code, I don't know, where the icon ends and where the label starts.
new JCheckBox("Description")
In your example your don't use an icon at all. But I assume the icons vary with each checkbox, do they?
@Kevin
How do you apply horizontal glue when the components are added in BoxLayout.Y_AXIS? Or do you mean to add a panel for each checkbox?I meant to add a Panel for each JCheckBox. But upon further thought, the Box.createGlue() is an unnecessary step. Just use the X alignment discussed in the BoxLayout [features |http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/layout/box.html#features] section of the tutorial.

  • Difference between element and identity based version

    Can anybody tell me the difference between elment and identity based version of the Object with any example? which classes implement them?

    Hunky322 wrote:
    At first it struck me as odd, given how List, Set, and Map define equals, but the part the OP left off clears it up a bit: "..because element-based equality is not always well-defined for queues with the same elements but different ordering properties."This lineSo, you're saying you don't understand the following?
    >
    Queue implementations generally do not define element-based versions of the equals and hashCode methods but instead inherit the identity-based versions from Object because element-based equality is not always well-defined for queues with the same elements but different ordering properties.
    >
    Okay, here's the deal.
    For a List, equals() is true if both Lists contain the same objects and in the same order. That's pretty straightforward, and it makes sense.
    For a Set, equals() is true if both Sets contain the same objects. Order is not considered because Sets are not generally ordered. Again, this it straightforward.
    So, you might think that Queue might define equals in a similar fashion--either if both Queues contain all the same elements, or if they contain all the same elements in the same order. However, this doesn't really work very well. Since ordering is an important part of a Queue, the ordering should be considered for equality. However, unlike Lists, two different Queues containing the same objects might define ordering differently. One might be a FIFO and the other might be a PriorityQueue, so how do you compare those two queues for equality?
    There are no clear-cut rules for equality between two arbitrary Queues, so the Queue interface does not define an equals method that's related to the contents of the Queues.

  • JRadioButton/JCheckBox and text alignement

    Hi all,
    It is possible only using JRadioButton and JCheckBox to have when using several
    of these elements to have text on the left aligned to left and the button right aligned
    with the gap in between being variable so that start of text and buttons are aligned.
    I would like to have that
    Text of my fist button    0
    2nd text                  0
    3rd text                  0
    ^--- text left aligned    ^---- here the radiobuttons/check boxes right alignedI know how to set text on the left side: myRadioButton.setHorizontalTextPosition(myRadioButton.LEADING).
    This is not a problem.
    Thanx,
    Xavier.

    Looking at this, I can't see an easy way. Using the
    components you specified, I guess I would set the font
    to a fixed size font, and pad the labels with spaces.
    If I was going it, I would make each label a JLabel,
    not assign a label to a checkbox, and put them
    together with a GridLayout. Hope this helpsWell this can be a solution but I would like two things:
    -1 be able to use any font
    -2 have the default behaviour of RadioButton or Checkbox
    that is text also selectable not only the button itself.
    I tried another solution: working the FontMetrics and
    defined gap between text and icon. But it must be buggy
    because it is look and feel (L&F) dependant. In my example,
    it only works as expected for motif L&F (i'm running under XP).
    And funny enough in my real application, it also works on XP.
    Metal that should be the most portable is the worse! :(
    I tried J2SE 1.4.3_02 and 1.5.0beta1: same result reagding
    alignement.
    Is it a bug or a mistake from my side?

    Hi
    You need to do a recursion. If the reference you get from the array "controls[]" if of type cluster, then you have to loop through recursively.
    Openg toolkit has variant tools that might be of some help to you (www.openg.org).
    Good luck

  • How do I remove an identical background / common element from a series of layers/images.

    Hello and good day,
    I have found dozens of articles on how to remove the uncommon items from a series of near identical photos, for instance removing tourists from a series of shots using Scripts -> Statistics...
    What I am trying to do is the exact opposite of this.
    I would like to compare a series of frames, and remove all common elements from them; leaving only differences.  I figured I would be able to use the statistics script to get the common background, then somehow compare it to each frame and remove the common background.  Basically doing a reverse green screen when I am removing the background instead of adding it.
    I have Adobe Master Collection CS6.

    That sounds like something AstroPhotographers might use.  We have an expert here, but I believe he is kind of busy right now, but he might happen along.
    Otherwise, I don't know how to do a reverse Median effect.  You can do it with two layers by aligning and setting the top layer blend mode to Difference, but identical features go black.  You'd have to make a luminosity mask from that frame and apply it to a layer mask to leave the people after returning the layer mode to normal.    But I can't think how to do it with a lot of frames together.

    and we are using SAP R/3 4.7  so we dont have that t code FAGLGVTR.
    in ABST2 there is the difference in Balance.
    2010 period 12
    In GL
    Begging Balance(100)

    In Subledger
    Begging Balance (100)

    In Subledger

  • Read Only privileges for Access Server and Identity Server - OAM 10g

    Hi,
    I am working on Oracle Access Manager 10g version 10.1.4.
    I use an administrative account that is a member of the 'COREid Administrators' group to log into the access console and identity console of OAM.
    Since this is the administrative account, it has the rights to modify and update all access/identity entities.
    How can I set up an account that has "view only" privileges over all access and identity objects in OAM?
    I need to log into the access and identity consoles of OAM and view all policy domains/policies/access system configuration/user manager config/group manager config etc bt not be able to modify any of them.
    Is there a way to setup such an account in OAM?
    Regards,
    Abhishek.

    Hi Abhishek,
    It is possible to define different levels of administrator, but it is not possible to give an admin read access (to objects in the consoles) without also giving modify access. I do not believe that there is a straightforward way to meet this requirement - for the Access System you could use the Policy Manager API and write your own interface (which does not have the ability to modify) but obviously this would be some development effort.

    Colin

    I'm using ISE Version : 1.0.4.573 and WS-C2960-24PC-L w/software 12.2(55)SE1 and image C2960-LANBASEK9-M for the access.
    The interface configuration looks like this:
    interface FastEthernet0/24
    switchport access vlan 6
    switchport mode access
    switchport voice vlan 20
    ip access-group webauth in
    authentication event fail action next-method
    authentication event server dead action authorize
    authentication event server alive action reinitialize
    authentication order mab
    authentication priority mab
    authentication port-control auto
    authentication periodic
    authentication timer reauthenticate server
    authentication violation restrict
    mab
    spanning-tree portfast
    end
    The ACL's
    Extended IP access list webauth
        10 permit ip any any
    Extended IP access list redirect
        10 deny ip any host 172.22.2.38
        20 permit tcp any any eq www
        30 permit tcp any any eq 443
    The ISE side configuration I follow it step by step...
    When I conect the XP client, e see the following Autenthication session...
    swlx0x0x#show authentication sessions interface fastEthernet 0/24
               Interface:  FastEthernet0/24
              MAC Address:  0015.c549.5c99
               IP Address:  172.22.3.184
                User-Name:  00-15-C5-49-5C-99
                   Status:  Authz Success
                   Domain:  DATA
           Oper host mode:  single-host
         Oper control dir:  both
            Authorized By:  Authentication Server
               Vlan Group:  N/A
         URL Redirect ACL:  redirect
             URL Redirect: https://ISE-ip:8443/guestportal/gateway?sessionId=AC16011F000000510B44FBD2&action=cwa

          Acct Session ID:  0x00000077
                   Handle:  0xB7000049
    Runnable methods list:
           Method   State
           mab      Authc Success
    But there is no redirection, and I get the the following message on switch console:
    756005: Mar 28 11:40:30: epm-redirect:IP=172.22.3.184: No redirection policy for this host
    756006: Mar 28 11:40:30: epm-redirect:IDB=FastEthernet0/24: In epm_host_ingress_traffic_qualify ...
    I have to mention I'm using an http proxy on port 8080...
    Any Ideas on what is going wrong?
    Regards
    Nuno

    OK, so I upgraded the IOS to version
    SW Version: 12.2(55)SE5, SW Image: C2960-LANBASEK9-M
    I tweak with ACL's to the following:
    Extended IP access list redirect
        10 permit ip any any (13 matches)
    and created a DACL that is downloaded along with the authentication
    Extended IP access list xACSACLx-IP-redirect-4f743d58 (per-user)
        10 permit ip any any
    I can see the epm session
    swlx0x0x#show epm session ip 172.22.3.74
         Admission feature:  DOT1X
         ACS ACL:  xACSACLx-IP-redirect-4f743d58

         URL Redirect:  https://ISE-ip:8443/guestportal/gateway?sessionId=AC16011F000000510B44FBD2&action=cwa
    And authentication

  • Document style web service receive and send org.w3c.Element

    All,
    I have created a simple Document-oriented web service and deployed to a standalone OC4J container using the following code:
    ********************* Interface ***********************
    import org.w3c.dom.*;
    interface PrimeNumberService
    //method to check the primality of the number passed in Element variable
    public Element isPrime(Element e) ;
    ******************** Implementation *******************
    @version 1.0
    Development Environment : Oracle9i JDeveloper
    Name of the File : PrimeNumberServiceImpl.java
    Creation/Modification History :
    13-Apr-2002 Created
    Overview:
    This class file defines methods to implement PrimeNumberWebService.
    The method isPrime() is exposed by the Web Service.
    import org.w3c.dom.*;
    import oracle.xml.parser.v2.*;
    import java.io.*;
    public class PrimeNumberServiceImpl implements PrimeNumberService
    public PrimeNumberServiceImpl()
    * This method is exposed by the Web Service to check if the number is
    * prime. It extracts the number for input element and checks if it is
    * prime or not and return the output in the XML Element.
    * The input element is of the form <number>23</number>
    public Element isPrime(Element e)
    // define an XML Element that will be returned to the client
    Element processedEl=null;
    try{
    // get the first clild of input element
    Node enode = e.getFirstChild();
    //get the value of input element and parse it
    String value= enode.getNodeValue();
    double number = Double.parseDouble(value);
    String answer=null;
    // check if the input number is prime
    answer = checkPrime(number);
    // create element from the answer
    processedEl =createElement(answer);
    }catch(Exception ex){
    ex.printStackTrace();
    return null;
    // return output to client
    return processedEl;
    * This method creates an XML element from the input string values and return it
    * The Element is of the form <answer>value</answer>
    private Element createElement(String value){
    // create a Document object
    Document xmldoc = new XMLDocument();
    // create an element with name "answer"
    Element e1 = xmldoc.createElement("answer");
    // append the element to document object
    xmldoc.appendChild(e1);
    // create a Text object from input values and append it to above element
    Text t = xmldoc.createTextNode(value);
    e1.appendChild(t);
    return (Element)xmldoc.getFirstChild();
    * This method check if the input number is prime or not
    private String checkPrime(double num){
    //For a prime number mod(power(2,number),number) is equal to 2
    if ( Math.IEEEremainder( Math.pow(2.0,num) ,num)==2){
    System.out.println ("the number is: " + num);
    return "The number " + num + " is prime";}
    else{
    System.out.println ("the number is: " + num);
    return "The number " + num + " is not prime";}

  • How do I find and download ACR for Elements 9

    Having trouble finding and downloading ACR for Elements 9

    ACR is only updated for a particular version of Elements until the new version of Elements comes out.  A new version of Elements comes out in the Aug-Oct timeframe of each year.  PSE 11 came out in the fall of 2012 so PSE 10 came out in the fall of 2011.  Look for the last version of ACR that came out before PSE 10 came out.  You can find the various versions of ACR for your computer’s OS by going to http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/ and choosing Camera Raw – your-computer-platorm at the top.  On the camera-raw versions page that comes up click on the links for a late-summer/early-fall 2011 version of ACR.  In my estimation this could be either 6.5 or 6.4 depending on whether PSE 9 was replaced by PSE 10 before or after 9/28/2011 when ACR 6.5 came out.  The way to check is that once you’ve clicked over to the download page for a particular version of ACR, there are two more links on that page, one for PSE and one for PRE and click the PSE one to see what version of Elements that version of ACR is for.  Check this until the version of PSE is higher than the one you have and then one back one version.
