JcomboBox list size is wrong if using PopupMenuListener

Just wondering if someone else has already implmented the workaround for this bug and would be able to tell me if it was very difficult to get going.
Basically, if you use PopupMenuListeners to populate a combo-box list dynamically when the user selects the combo, the size of the list which gets presented to the user is based on the number of entries the combo previously had, not teh size of the new list.

We were hoping that this would get fixed in v1.5, but customers are complaining so much, its getting to the point where we will have to code a work-around. Just wondering how nasty it is to do.

Basically, if you use PopupMenuListeners to populate a combo-box list dynamically ...I guess I don't fully understand what you are attempting to do, so I guess the next question is why are you using a PopupMenuListener to dynamically change the contents of the comboBox? Why does clicking on the dropdown menu cause the contents do dynamically change? Usually the contents are change as a result of some other action by the user. Maybe some sample code will clarify what you are attempting do do and an alternative approach can be suggested.

I am using the autoSuggestBehavior with inputListOfValuesComponent. suggestedItems come from a ViewObject. When I type a any letter the suggested items list is always is limited with 10 items(event the suggested list is longer) and user must go to another page to see the rest. Is there a way to increase the suggested list size?

Where the suggestedItems list comes from a view object. My problem here is when I type any criteria it offers me only the first 10 items for the rest I must go to the search page offered again by the component. This ussage is not being so friendly for the users. I thought that there must a setting for the size of the offered items list.

Which is better ListIterator or Simple list.size() in for loop

I have one scenario in which, I need to delete the duplicate values from the list (Note : Duplicate values are coming in sequence).
I tried to approaches as follows
1) Using ListIterator
I iterated all values and if I found any duplicate then I called remove() method of Iterator.
2) I made another ArrrayList object, and iterated the old list using size() and for loop, and if I found unique value then I added that value to the new ArrayList.
I also created one test java file to find out the performance in both cases. But I am not pretty sure that this test is correct or not. Please suggest me which approach is correct.

I think, you test is ok like that. Although I would have tested with two different applications, just to be shure that the heap is clean. You never know what gc() actually does.
Still, your results show what is expected:
Approach 1 (List iterator) takes virtually no extra memory, but takes a lot of time, since the list has to be rebuild after each remove.
Approach 2 is much faster, but takes a lot of extra memory, since you need a "copy" of the original list.
Basically, both approaches are valid. You have to decide depending on your requirements.
Approach 1 can be optimized by using a LinkedList instead of an ArrayList. When you remove an element from an ArrayList, all following elements have to be shifted which takes a lot of time. A LinkedList should behave better.
Finally, instead of searching for duplicates, consider to check for duplicates when filling the list or even use a Map.

where myList is a ArrayList filld with objects. On jsp page I want to count 2 values first and last number:

Hang on. For such things you can build your own EL functions - it is very easy and involves only 4 steps.
1. Write a class containing a method (must be static) to calculate size of any list.
[Put the class in /WEB-INF/classes, so your file will reside as /WEB-INF/classes/myfunctions/MyFunctions.class]

Search for list items by Created Date using caml

Hi all,
I'm trying to find list items with specific attributes using caml.
I created a caml query that uses Last_x0020_Modified and File_x0020_Size for searching items.
then i tried adding Created and Created_x0020_Date both either as Lookup or as DateTime to the caml.
But since i added Created/Created_x0020_Date my query fails with 500 Internal Server Error.
Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

List.size() and math?

Hi All,
I'm making a card game (War) and am trying to show the % of cards each player has. The following, and many variations are producing 0's?
txtStory.append(Math.round(((RedDeck.size()+RedDeckWon.size())/52)*100));I've tried casting each piece to int, and using toString() all over to no avail.
Displaying just the addition of list sizes does work... dividing that number by 52 should produce the %, right?
Any thoughts?

If x and y are ints, then x/y will be done using integer math.
99 / 100 = 0
What you want to do is cast at least one of x and y to a float. Or divide by 52.0.

When I try and print an "Approach Plate, or Departure" from ForeFlight to my Epson Stylus NX430 using AirPrint the image is resized. How can I print without it resizing. I want to have the plate print in the original size so I can use it.

Reducing size of a PDF using Acrobat 9 Pro

Hello, I want to reduce the file size of a large number of pdfs which will be available for download on a website I'm building. These pdfs were created a few years ago and in most cases the fonts were converted to outlines. I want to reduce the size of the pdfs using Acrobat 9 Pro. I tried one and the size went from 2.3 Mb down to 156 Kb when I saved as an Acrobat 7. Will these be able to be viewed by anyone using Acrobat Reader. The end users will only be viewing and reading the pdfs. Thanks in advance for any responses.

If you are familar with the PDF Optimizer and how to go to it, open PDF Optimizer.
First images for a website should never be more than 150dpi.
Go to images and set, for DPI 150 for color images Grayscale and Monochrome.
Next open fonts in optimizer and look for duplicate fonts.
example:
Ariel
Ariel Bold
Ariel Bold
Ariel Italic
Courier New Bold
remove the duplicate Ariel Bold.
Many times there are 5-10 instances or more of the same Font/Font style.
Remove all duplicates.
Save as a new file you never want to save over your original in case what you end up with doesn't turn out.

Hi,Using ms project 2007 vba macro, I would like to be able to list all the custom fields used in the project and their corresponding field names. e.g. let us say I create a calculated duration field and name it "expected duration" and the name
of the field I select is Duration1.
I am trying to write a macro that will list all the used custom fields such as the result would look like:

I found this module, which provides the the list of custom fields used in the project but does not provide the name given to the field. Here below is the module and hope you could help me achieve this by modifying the macro to list the renamed field.

The Custom option itself is not appearing in the process of selecting paper sizes in Printing preferences. I have installed this printer just today, but I bought it eight months back in Dubai. Could there be chance that since I purchased it in Dubai and I am using it in India, the software's not functioning properly.

There is something called message split on adapter engine but it won't guarantee a sequence of adapter calls.
