JDBC com channel(receiver): dynamic hostname.

Dear,
Imagine the following scenario: a company needs to push data to the pc of it's clients. On the pc of each client a dbase server is installed and the pc of each client will always be online/reachable.
Seeing the large number of clients and the need of easy/flexsible configuration it would not be handy to configure a communication channel per client pc.
Can a jdbc receiver channel be created that allows to configure the hostname of the sql server in a dynamic way (~dynamicconfigurationbean). The xml message will contain all needed data (hostname-userid-password...).
Kind regards
Joris

Hi All,
The conclusion is that dyamic configuration of the receiver jdbc adapter is not yet possible.
Jeol, when we are talking about hundreds of clients, this might be a problem. It is quiet easy to create such a channel, but I wanted to avoid the fact that a creation for each client was needed.
Kind regards
Joris

  • Using to_date functions in Com Channel for Oracle DB

    I have been trying to mask data while pulling from an Oracle DB.   I run the following SQL in sqlplus and it works correctly
    <b>select to_char(cse_wid, '9999.99') from iprdl</b>
    then when I use XI,
    I get a successful message in the adapter engine so I go in to look at the payload and receive this message.
    <b> A name contained an invalid character. Error processing resource 'file:///C:/Documents and Settings/CSEIDIT/Local Settings/...
      <TO_CHAR(CSE_WID,9999.99)>   10.70</TO_CHAR(CSE_WID,9999.99)>
    ^2 to_char(cse_wgt,'9999.99' ),
    </b>  then I also get a mapping error in the integration Engine.   I have searched this forums and have found nothing that seems to fit this problem.

    Not passing an XML to Oracle.    Using a JDBC com. channel parmeter  SQL Query option to pull records.  have other fields the SQL but it does not like the TO_CHAR option .  this is the full select
    <b>SELECT PROD_ID, CREATE_DTIM, TO_CHAR ( CSE_WID, '9999.99' ),     TO_CHAR (CSE_WGT ,'9999.99' ),  CSE_UNIT,  TO_CHAR (CSE_LEN, '9999.99' ), TO_CHAR (CSE_HGT, '9999.99' ), cse_cub, inner_pack_wid, inner_pack_wgt, inner_pack_unit, inner_pack_len,  inner_pack_hgt, inner_pack_cub FROM iprdl
    WHERE (iprdl.extr_flag <> 'Y' OR      extr_flag IS NULL)</b>
    The adapter Engine give me a successful Message but when I go to view the payload, I get that error and it does not map to the inegration engine

  • JDBC Sender and Receiver

    Hello:
    I have an scenario FILE-to-FILE and it's working ok. So now I want to change it into FILE-to-JDBC so I thought just to change the Communication Channel RECEIVER, instead of file, use JDBC adapter.
    I've read this blog <a href="/people/sap.user72/blog/2005/06/01/file-to-jdbc-adapter-using-sap-xi-30 to JDBC Adapter using SAP XI 3.0</a> but I don't have clear where tu place the SQL Insert statement, or to know which table to affect. I am using this settings on the RECEIVER communication channel:
    Adapter type: JDBC
    Transfer Protocol : JDBC 2.0
    Message Protocol : XML SQL Format
    -- Database Connection --
    JDBC Driver : net.sourceforge.jtds.jdbc.Driver
    Connection: jdbc:jtds:sybase://alma.mex.sap.corp:2638/demo
    I've noticed thta if the Communication channel is SENDER, I do get a parameter called Update SQL Statement, but it's not there when it's  a RECEIVER, why is that?
    Greetings!
    Alejandro

    Thanks for the info
    Reading the help site, I find that the xml message must have a certain structure, that will be interpreted by the database. If I want to send an INSERT, I would have an xml message like this:
    [code]
    <root>
      <stmt>
        <Customers action="SQL_DML">
          <access> UPDATE Customers SET CompanyName=’$NAME$’, Address=’$ADDRESS$' WHERE CustomerID='$KEYFIELD$’
          </access>
          <key>
            <NAME>Company</NAME>
            <ADDRESS>Street 3 </ADDRESS>
            <KEYFIELD>CO</KEYFIELD>
          </key>
        </Customers>
      </stmt>
    </root>
    [/code]
    And as I understand I <b>must define those fields</b> on my data type XSD so the mesagge from the sender arrives with this structure right?
    so I created an XSD like this
    [code]

  • JDBC Sender Channel polling before polling interval is complete

    Hi all,
    On our Production Server, we have found that a few JDBC Sender Channels are polling multiple times within one polling interval.
    Eg: Suppose for one channel, the polling interval is 7200 secs. It polls once and the polling interval starts. But it polls again 1 or 2 times more maybe just 5 secs later before its next scheduled poll in 7200 secs.
    Unfortunately, our scenarios are such that when there are multiple polls within a short span of time, there are data anomolies, causing inconsistancies on Receiver side DB. Hence this is a serious uissue.
    Please Help. FYI, all the affected channels run on the same schedule. I am not sure if that can be causing this abnormality.

    H Varun
    I have not come across this behavior earlier. But if you are polling same data base using multiple channel at same time data inconsistency can be there. We always prefer to poll the same data base tables with different timings. Setting up poll timings always consider peak loads. Try to change the polls and see if the same behavior exists.

  • Configure Communication channel URL Dynamically

    Hi,
    I need to Configure the SOAP Adapter Communication channel URL dynamically.
    My requirement is like this, I have to send  the Login request details to the Salesforce webservice after that I will get the response, that response has the ServerUrl, I have to map that URL to the Target URL in CC
    I created UDF for that, Here is the code:
    "DynamicConfiguration conf = (DynamicConfiguration)container.getTransformationParameters().get(StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);
    DynamicConfigurationKey parmValue=DynamicConfigurationKey.create("http:""/""/sap.com/xi/XI/System/SOAP", "TServerLocation");
    conf.put(parmValue, SessionUrl);"
    Note: In the above code "SessionUrl" is the servreurl.
    but this not working.
    Please help me in this(don't send any links)
    Regards,
    Yuga

    Hi,
    I just completed a receiver SOAP scenario:
    This is the udf i used
    DynamicConfiguration conf = (DynamicConfiguration) container.getTransformationParameters().get(StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);
    String temp = "http:/sap.com/xi/XI/System/SOAP";
    DynamicConfigurationKey key = DynamicConfigurationKey.create(temp, "TServerLocation");
    String varURL = serverURL
    conf.put(key,varURL)
    *As Amit said Check if ASMA and variable transport binding are checked in the adapter.
    *see Dynamic Configuration in SXMB_MONI
    *If u have uid pwd send it like "http:/"+"/uid:pwd@servername:50000/XISOAPAdapter/........
    *If you encounter a invalid content type error check Donot use SOAP envelope and pass &nosoap=true
    *use the url and post from a SOAP client
    *If you get a mapping exception try to check what is the exact reason for the exception in the Trace

  • Error in Sender JDBC communication channel

    Dear All,
    We have an interface in which we are fetching data from SQL database through sender JDBC communication channel.
    Last week SQL server was upgraded from 2000 to 2008 and the communication channel has stopped working and is giving the following error:
    Database-level error reported by JDBC driver while executing statement 'SELECT * FROM mstemp_tbl WHERE Active='0''. The JDBC driver returned the following error message: 'java.sql.SQLException: [Microsoft][SQLServer 2000 Driver for JDBC][SQLServer]The incoming tabular data stream (TDS) remote procedure call (RPC) protocol stream is incorrect. Parameter 1 (""): Data type 0x38 is unknown.'. For details, contact your database server vendor.
    Please let me know if any JDBC drivers are to be installed for SQL 2008 or how can we resolve this.
    Thanks,
    NJ

    Hi,
    You may need to update your JDBC driver to 1.2 or 2.0. Kindly see supportability matrix on this link (question #2):

  • Error at sender JDBC communication channel

    Dear All,
    While executing JDBC(MS-Access)-PI-RFC interface, we are getting error in sender JDBC communication channel. The error is as following:
    Error during database connection to the database URL 'jdbc:odbc:Driver={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)};DBQ=
    sappidev\Datatran\Database.mdb' using the JDBC driver 'jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver': 'com.sap.aii.adapter.jdbc.sql.DriverManagerException: Can not establish connection:: SQLException: [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified'.
    I have checked various posts on forums and as per those no drivers installation is required to access MS-Access database and I am not able to find any post which could solve my problem.
    Kindly guide me on what might be the problem and how this can be resolved.
    Regards,
    NJ

    Hi Nishu,
      That error ALWAYS means your DSN name is incorrect or can't be accessed for some reason (permission). The ODBC part says that the bridge is working.
      But that DSN is 100% wrong or cannot be seen by the user account that the server is running as. Make sure you have a system DSN and not a user one.

  • Jdbc sender channel memory size issue

    Hi Experts,
    We are facing the below error in connect to jdbc sender channel from XI . Could anyone of you suggest me the right action to be taken in this regard.
    Database-level error reported by JDBC driver while executing statement 'select * from*********where posted = '0''. The JDBC driver returned the following error message: 'com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException: The system is out of memory. Use server side cursors for large result sets:Java heap space. Result set size:614,143,127. JVM total memory size:1,031,798,784.'. For details, contact your database server vendor.
    Appreciate your quick help.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ranganath.

    Regulate the number of records returned by Select statement for permanent fix.
    Few more things....
    a)If you want to select only some fields, then dont use Select * from table.  Rather specify select a,b,c from tablename
    b) specify some flag in the table so that read some records each time and in the update statement update the flag for those records already read. So that you will not reread the same records in the next message.
    Hope you understand.
    c) Increasing java heap size is temporary fix.

  • JDBC Communication channel : Error establishing socket

    Dear friends,
    Im using JDBC comm channel. JDBC driver has been insatlled for SQL Server 2000 (SP3) .
    However for the JDBC comm. channel i get an error

    DB name:
    jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://<ip address>:1433;DatabaseName=<dbname>
    However still get the same error
    Can somebody help ?

    Hi
    The following should fix your problem
    <i>I had this problem using SQLServer 2000 Driver for JDBC and finally solved it. Here's what I did:
    1. Make sure that SQL Server is set to mixed authentication. To do this, open enterprise manager, right click on server/properties; go to security tab and select SQL Server and Windows Authentication. Apparently, the driver from Microsoft cannot handle windows integrated authentication.
    2. Keeping the server properties dialog up, go to the general tab and push the network configuration button. <b>Enable TCP/IP (it is disabled by default). If you wish, press properties to change the default port (1433).</b>
    3. Add an SQL Server login account (NOT a WINDOWS account (see 1)). You can also use your sa account, but I don't recommend it.
    4. Use the login setup in step 3.
    Some final notes:
    (1) I've seen ads for third party drivers that can use Windows integrated authentication. Try one if you need this feature.
    (2) One responder suggested telneting to port 1433 to verify TCP connectivity. The connection is refused on my machine even though I can connect through the driver. And this is how it should be; otherwise there'd be a security risk.</i>

    Here is what I have done:
    1) I created a managed server using admin console
    2) I created both an Identity and Trust keystore (jks type file) with the server's
    private key (Identity) and the root trusted certificate authority (Trust).
    3) I configured my managed server to use the two keystores
    4) I edited the NodeManager.properties file to use the same keystores.
    5) I started the NodeManager on the machine and I used the following command line
    options by editing the %WL_HOME%\server\bin\startNodeManager.cmd file:
    -Dweblogic.nodemanager.debugLevel=90
    -Dssl.debug=true
    -Djava.protocol.handler.pkgs=weblogic.net
    6) I also added the following commands to my startWebLogic.cmd file:
    -Dweblogic.security.SSL.ignoreHostnameVerification=true
    -Dssl.debug=true
    -Djava.protocol.handler.pkgs=weblogic.net
    7) I started my admin server and created a Machine that included the managed server.
    8) I configured the NodeManager properties for the Machine I created to point
    to the NodeManager already running on that physical box.
    9) I clicked on the tab to "Monitor" the NodeManager/Machine and it died giving
    the above exception.
    I would have no idea why the Certificate chain would be "incomplete". The Issuer
    and Subject DNs match up fine:

    Anyway, if anyone could provide me with some insight as to why I might be receiving
    this error I would be sincerely indebted to you. I can't seem to find any other
    people with the same problem in the Support archives. Thanks for all of the help!

    Cabell Fisher

    Hi,
    Can you please help me;
    I have a similar problem on WL7 SP4 ( UNIX )
    I have made a site that check https site.
    When I try to read the page of the site, I've got Certificate chain is incomplete message.
    On WL8 version ( WINDOWS ), I have no problem to retrieve certificate and then access to the site.
    I have read that this error occure when Root CA Self signed certificat is not include in the keystore.
    I'm using CACERTS keystore.
    Can you tell me the process to generate the CA Root certificate and then import in the CACERTS.
    Thanks a lot for your help.
    Sincerely
    Stephane

    Regards

    hi,
    Your connection should be :
    jdbc:oracle:thin:hutting/[email protected]:1521:pnt
    jdbc driver should be:
    oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver
    Regards
    joel.
    I only hope that your other jdbc scenarios are working fine , this is just to rule out the possibility of driver related errors.
