JDBC sender -Login Failed

Hi
I am trying to connect to SQl server 2005 database ..Getting with login failed for user...
JDBC connection paramteres in lieu with the SQL version
com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver
jdbc:sqlserver://<ip>:1433;DatabaseName=XXXX
1.I can see my driver 'sqljdbc.jar' in the com.sap.aii.af.jmsproviderlib in /ext folder .
2.I can access the database contents using studio express with the same credentials ..
3. Telnet is successful eliminating firewall/network issues .
4.SQl and windows authentication set in database
5.Document name and namespace given in sender JDBC
6 tried to establish connection picking up top 1* record from the view
Any more options to check for resolving this error ..
Please advise
Anusha

Hi Anusha
It looks like the drivers have not been installed. Ask your basis team to check and deploy the correct driver.
Also, according to this wiki, it seems that the connection string is not correct.
http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/VC/JDBCConnectionSetup
It should be jdbc:sqlserver://<host_name>:<port>;database=<db_name> (database instead of DatabaseName)

  • Com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException Login failed for user '' ..

    Hi All,
    I have the following weird problem when trying to connect to MSSQL 2005 database using JDBC and windows authentication.
    I am using the following command:
    DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:sqlserver://<<MACHINE IP>>:;database=<<DB NAME>>;integratedSecurity=true;","<<DOMAIN USER NAME>>","<<DOMAIN USER PASSWORD>>")and I get the following exception:
    com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException: Login failed for user ''. The user is not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection.
    I tried to google this exception but all I can see is similar one but the exception also contain the user name. Please note that in the exception I get, the user name is not listed..
    I also checked it with various connection strings (I also tried to put the user name and password in the connection string, using the parameters 'user' and 'password'), but I always get the same result.
    Also, when I used SQL authentication I am able to connect to the SQL (after I remove the 'integratedSecurity' param).
    The SQL server is configured to work with both SQL and Windows authentication- I am able to log in to the SQL (with Microsoft SQL server management studio express) with the same windows user.
    The sqljdbc_auth.dll is also located in the class path.
    Does anyone have any idea what I am doing wrong?
    Thanks,
    Uri

    You need to load a sqljdbc_auth.dll (or more specifically: point to it with -Djava.library.path or add it to the path), as is explained in the Microsoft SQL Server JDBC documentation on integrated security: [http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms378428.aspx]
    Interesting. One would hope that it would at least provide a different error message if it didn't find that.I don't know, I haven't used integratedSecurity much. With the DLL the JDBC driver will send the credentials of the currently logged in user to the database server, and maybe the parameter integratedSecurity=true is just an instruction to the database server to actually use those credentials for login if they are there, or maybe supplying a user name and password as the OP did will override the integratedSecurity setting and the DLL is never actually used.

  • SQLException thrown by the physical connection: Login failed for user

    Hi Experts,
    I am creating a custom data source on Visual Administrator (2004s 7.01 SP3) for SQL 2008 with a named instance. Using Logon, System databases are getting connected. But Visual Administrator throws the below exception trace while attempting to connect to any custom created databases.
    Please help me to resolve this.
    Thanks in Advance,

  • I created a second email account with a password but when I try to get mail for it and I put in password it says login failed. Why? and how do I fix it.

    I created second email account ([email protected]) with a Password but when I try to get mail and enter password, it says "Sending of Password did not succeed. Mail server mail.comcast.net responded: login failed". What am I doing wrong?

    Have you logged on to the webmail account using a browser and enabled either Pop or Imap forwarding for that email address?
    Have you created a mail account in Thunderbird that uses the chosen webmail forwarding option?
    Password - make sure caps lock is not switched - it must be the same password you use to access the webmail account.
    check:
    Tools > account Settings > Server Settings
    username = full email address

  • Get-splogevent Correlation ID, login failed for "Edit My Profile" in My Profile Error An unexpected error has occurred

    Hello Community
        Edit My Profile in My Site displayed an error that "An unexpected error occurred" with a
    Correlation ID. I have tried to read the logs in the 14 hive Logs folder but unsuccessfully.
    I was able to  understand Event Viewer logs, there was supposed to be 4 possibilities
    one was wheter UPS was running, the other was clearing the cache and the other 2 I also fixed
    I even recreated the Search Service Application, Metadata and UPS but when I fixed the problems
    the error still occurred.
        Then I used a Powershell command that displayed output but the Output doesn't make sense
    because it is saying the login failed associated with the database that was created by the Search
    Service application when it was created.
        But  how can that username be related to the Search Service database?  Below is the output:

  • Reports successfully execute but generate a login failed for user 'sa' err

    I am running Crystal Reports Server XI R2. Classic ASP is used to generate embedded reports within our application. The crystal reports use ODBC to connect to a SQL Server 2005 database. The reports successfully generate in our Classic ASP application. However in SQL Server 2005,  the following error messages are being generated each time a crystal report is ran:
    - Login failed for user 'sa'.
    - Error: 18456, Severity: 14, State: 8.
    We know that we are passing the correct username/password to the crystal reports, becuase they execute successfully.
    It appears that when the report is called, Crystal Reports appears to conect to SQL Server using a username/password that we didn't provide it at execution time, this fails and the SQL Server 'login failed for user' is generated. Then it runs the report using the username/password we provide and it successfully generates a report.
    I have ran Profiler against the SQL Server Database and the 'Login failed for user 'sa' ' errors have a ApplicationName of either 'Seagate Crystal Reports' or 'Crystal Reports'. Therefore I know it is Crystal Reports generating these errors in SQL Server.
    Does anyone have any ideas on how to stop these SQL Server 'Login failed for user 'sa' ' errors being generated?

    What happens if you use Profiler when running the report using Crystal Report Designer?
    If the report is ran through Crystal Report Designer, NO 'Login failed for user' error messages appear in profiler. Everything looks ok when ran in Designer.
    Also, need to know what patch level you are on?
    We are running Crystal Reports Server XI Release 2, Version: 11.5.8.8265
    No additional patchs have been applied since Crystal Reports Server was installed.
    We may try the SA account if one of the connections fail to log on with the credentials you provided. Verify the user you logged on with has rights to all tables.
    The reports were running through our application using the SA account. The SA account has permissions to these tables. The reports do generate results and appear perfectly fine in the application.  The issue is that when our application requests the report from Crystal Reports Server. Crystal Reports Server delivers the correct report to our application. However during the process to generate the report, 'login failed for user 'sa' ' errors are being generated in SQL Server 2005.
    Also, I have tried creating a completely new SQL user called 'crystaluser'. I ran the report using Crystal Report Designer and used the crystaluser logon and saved the report. Then I ran the same report through our application. SQL Profiler will then display 'login failed for user 'crystaluser''.
    Its seems as though Crystal Reports Server is first executing the report using the default SQL user saved with the report, but is either sending a blank password or no password at all. This generates the 'login failed for user' in SQL Server 2005. But it then uses the SQL username/password my application gives it and successfully generates the report. Of course this is only speculation.

  • Unhandled Exception Error - Login Failed for User

    Hello,
    I am receiving an error when I run my application stating “Unhandled exception has occurred. If you click continue, the application will ignore the error………..Login failed for MyUser.
    When I click the Continue button the application runs and seems to work properly. This application used to run without receiving the error and I did not make any changes. I have another application that is using basically the exact same code and does not
    receive the error. The only difference is the application is querying a different DB but using the exact same connection string. The error only occurs when I run the exe file created from the build. When I run (debug) the application from within the VS 2013
    IDE I do not receive the error.
    Here are the details to the error message:

    ************** JIT Debugging **************
    To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
    application or computer (machine.config) must have the
    jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
    The application must also be compiled with debugging
    enabled.
    For example:
    <configuration>
        <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
    </configuration>
    When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
    will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
    rather than be handled by this dialog box.
    I'm not sure what the JIT debugger is but to my knowledge my other apps are not using that. The production username and password are correct in the connection string so I'm not clear why I am receiving this error especially since I'm not receiving the
    error on my other application. I have also attached the code just in case it is needed. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    In SQL you have a login which allows access to the server but you must also have permissions to access each database that you will use (including Master). So I would verify that your user also has the necessary permissions on the database itself and
    not just the SQL instance. The error you're getting is from SQL saying that the user doesn't have permissions.  If it works for 1 DB but not the other on the same SQL instance then it is likely a missing permission on the DB itself.
    I should note that you have a hard coded conn string in your code but the error is for a different user.  I'm assuming that you simply posted it there for convenience and that you changed the values to obscure the data.  If you are actually getting
    the info from your config file then verify the connection string is correct. Also be sure to not use Integrated Security since it appears that you are using SQL authentication.

  • Significance of Document Name in JDBC Sender

    hi folks,
    tell me what exactly mean by the Document Name parameter in the JDBC Sender adapter? where does that plays?
    thanks
    nikhil bos

    > tell me what exactly mean by the Document Name
    > parameter in the JDBC Sender adapter? where does
    >  that plays?
    If you created MT_JDBC_Sender (for Example)
    Go to IR and Test your mapping..then take the input message from there and paste it to the Notepad...you will find the Root Element will be
    <<b>MT_Sender_JDBC</b> >
      <row>
    <>
    </MT_Sender_JDBC >
    now when you configured the JDBC adapter then by defalut the Document Name is <b>resultset</b>
    so XML from From JDBC sender adapter will come in this format.:
    <<b>resultset</b> >
      <row>
    <>
    </<b>resultset</b> >
    So coming XML does not match with the structure that u define..so finally need to overide the name of the defult document namespace so that it will not fail at runtime:-)
    Thanks
    Farooq.

  • Stored Procedure call from JDBC sender for Oracle Database

    Hi,
    I have a requirement to call stored procedure using JDBC sender adapter for retriving data from an Oracle database.
    I need to execute first stored procedure call from Querry SQL statement and then trigger second stored procedure call for confirming the succesful retrival of those records from the update SQL statement.
    Querries:
    1. Can we trigger stored procedure from Update statement of JDBC sender.
    2. Can we call stored procedure from Querry statement, since I have read on other sdn threads that stored procedure calls on Oracle database are not allowed. If not possible to have "Execute stored procedure" would the function call (select * from table(function name)) work same as stored procedure.
    3. In a JDBC sender the Querry statement and Update statement are executed in same session call and same database connection. What happens if the querry statement was not succesful, would the update be still triggered.
    Please note PI does not have direct access to main table and hence the need to have separate stored procedure calls.
    The PI version is PI 7.11 sp4.
    Appreciate your inputs.
    Thanks.
    Siddhesh S.Tawate

    >1. Can we trigger stored procedure from Update statement of JDBC sender.
    I think not possible using update statement.
    > Can we call stored procedure from Querry statement, since I have read on other sdn threads that stored procedure calls on Oracle database are not allowed. Yes using select query you can call stored procedure.
    >. In a JDBC sender the Querry statement and Update statement are executed in same session call and same database connection. What happens if the querry statement was not succesful, would the update be still triggered.
    No select and update handles in the same session using the same thread so if one transaction fails update should not proceed.

  • JDBC Sender Adapter - Transaction & Parameterized Query?

    Dear Experts,
    I'm curious about the JDBC sender adapter in SAP PI.
    As I see from the document and have been searching in the Internet, The default procedure of the sender JDBC adapter is to first run a SELECT/Store Procedure query then update the records that have been read before.
    Configuring the Sender JDBC Adapter - Advanced Adapter Engine - SAP Library
    What I want to ask is:
    - What is the database transaction used for the SELECT and the UPDATE? I mean what if the SELECT is successful and the records have been sent to the IE, but the UPDATE failed. This way, the next polling run, the same records could be read again. Is it possible? Are the SELECT and UPDATE query atomic (if one fails the other fails too)?
    - Is it possible to have a parameterized query / stored procedure in sender JDBC adapter? Because seeing at the default procedure, there should be at least a field that will be used as a flag (for example the processed field needs to be updated to '1'). Something like:
              - SELECT * FROM table_a WHERE docno > $last_doc_no
                             $last_doc_no is a paramter or variable from PI
              - EXEC sp_do_something ( $param_a, $param_b )
                             $param_a, $param_b are parameters or variable in PI
    Thank you,
    Suwandi C.

    Hi Suwandi,
    all action to database are in one transaction and thats mean if one failed all failed.
    And it is possible to have parameterized storied procedure. You sould send something like
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <ns0:mt_proc xmlns:ns0="http://aaaa">
       <statementname>
          <stProc action="EXECUTE"/>
          <TABLE>PROCEDURE NAME</TABLE>
          <access>
             <param_in isInput="1" type="some_type">input param</param_in>
             <param_out isOutput="1" type="some_type"></param_out>
          </access>
       </statementname>
    </ns0:mt_proc>

    Dear friends,
    We are getting following error on JDBC sender Adapter: Error during conversion of query result to XML: java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space (failed to allocate 1073741848 bytes)
    I have read blogs where there have been suggestions to limit the amount of data picked by using WHERE condition and not using SELECT *
    In our scenario we are creating GL IDOCs . In SQL when PI picks it up it needs to get all the corresponding Header and line items together. We cannot randomly pick 1000 records at a time. The SQL table has 500,000 rows in the following format
    H H H  L1 L1 L1
    H H H L2 L2 L2
    H H H  L3 L3 L3
    H1 H1 H1 L1 L1 L1
    H1 H1 H1 L2 L2 L2
    H1 H1 H1 L3 L3 L3
    Please let me know how can we solve this issue?
    Thank you,
    Teresa

    If you are using oracle database, uses ROWNUM field to fetch first set of records and you can update those records with the flag as true.
    similarly If you are using MS SQL database, uses SELECT TOP command to fetch first set of records and you can update those records with the flag as true.
    Like File/FTP adapter, the next poll interval would be as scheduled. The Administrator can then alter the table contents, to ensure lesser no of records are picked up.
    Here You need to limit the no of rows if you again face the problem. Please chec the SAP Note

  • JDBC Sender Adapter Error

    HI Friends,
    I have configured the JDBC Sender Adapter with parameters as
    Driver : oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver
    Connection : jdbc:oracle:thin:system:netweaver:@172.25.4.221:1521
    But Iam getting an error in Componenet Monitoring:

    Hi
    Thanks for the reply.
    I tried with <b>jdbc:oracle:thin:@172.25.4.221:1521:netweaver</b> and
    <b>jdbc:oracle:thin:@172.25.4.221:1521:system</b>
    Now Iam getting another error.

  • JDBC Sender adapter - message split

    All,
    Scenario:
    Oracle Stage table - PI - ECC or R3, (depending on a particular value the record goes to ECC or R3 to post a transaction).
    After the record is picked, flag is updated and depending on posting the transaction on SAP, the flag is updated in the stage table.
    With the JDBC sender adapter, multiple records are picked up depending on the select statement in the sender comm channel.
    I have the following rek.
    Now the message is in the AE, before the message enters IE, I would like to split the messages
    This would help me in resubmitting the failed (failed to post the transaction) records.
    Is there any way that I would be able to do it?
    Any guidence...
    reg

    Hi Naveen,
    An alternative way , instead of splitting the multiple record being picked up in a single poll,  you can control the number of records being picked. By using the following statement in the sender cc
    SELECT * FROM ....   UPTO ROWS <  20
    so that only 20 records are picked at a time. and resubmit the set of 20 in case it fails.
    You can go for this method if it suits your requirement.

    Shamly

  • JDBC Sender - ORA-08177 on UPDATE, but Table is updated - no message

    Hi,
    I have a problem with JDBC Adapter:
    I use a JDBC Sender adapter, polling every minute on an Oracle DB.
    I use isolation level "serializable".
    No what happens sometimes is, that the update statement fails because of "ORA-08177: can't serialize access for this transaction", so no message is forwarded to the IS. Curiously, the entries in the table are updated, so the JDBC Driver seems to update the data anyways.
    Has anybody experience with similar problems? This is a really hard issue because no messages are transmitted althought the condition field in the table is updated and everything seems normal. Also the status light of the communication channel will be green again after a while, so it is really hard to trace.
    System:
    XI 3.0 SP20
    ORACLE 8.1.7.4
    I use the following statements with a rownum limit:
    select ... from TABLE where CONDITION = '_to_send' AND rownum <= 20 order by NACHRICHT_ID
    update TABLE set CONDITION = '_sending' where PRIMARY_KEY in (select PRIMARY_KEY from TABLE where CONDITION = '_to_send' and rownum <= 20)
    (just to complete the picture...)
    This message goes to BPM, where it is split into single messages. These messages are processed separately, and after an successfull processing an update statement is sent back to the DB:
    update TABLE set CONDITION = '_processed' where PRIMARY_KEY = <PK of processed message>
    So the condition "_sending" is an interim status for the messages sent to BPM, but not finally processed.
    What happens is, that the receiver of the messages complained about missing messages. I could find some messages in the interim status, but no message has ever been sent.
    I appreciate any help.
    Thank you very much.

    Sainath Chutke wrote:
    As you have used the Isolation level as serialiable whenever the transaction fails the data gets updated because once the transaction reaches the end of the adapter level processing " the update statemnets gets executed " Irrespective of whether the transaction is sucessful or failure."
    Curiously, the select statement does not throw the error, the update statement does. But even though the update statement does not work (ORA-08177), it works (rows in DB are updated). That is what causes headache to me.
    Try to change the Isolation level and get the message id generated using an UDF.´
    Sorry, but I do not completely understand what you suggest here.
    My needs are:
    - select rows that fulfill condition (limit to a max number per poll interval)
    - update the selected rows to not fulfill the condition any more (to not double sent data)
    - the update statement must update exactly the same rows that have been selected before (transaction)
    or in other words:
    I need to make sure the data is sent only once and exactly once.
    If your idea can satisfy these needs, I kindly ask you to explain it more detailed.
    Thank you very much.

  • BPM Question: JDBC Sender to RFC to JDBC Receiver

    I have the following requirement:
    JDBC Sender Adapter (by nature Asynchronous) – SELECT multiple rows from a table
    To…
    RFC Receiver Adapter (Synchronous)
    To…
    JDBC Receiver Adapter (Synchronous) – UPDATE multiple rows in a table
    Then…
    IF <SAP:Error> XML is returned from the JDBC Receiver Adapter, I want to either issue a CCMS alert, or utilize the XI Email Adapter for error notification.
    ELSE, if <root_response> XML is returned from the JDBC Receiver Adapter, do nothing.
    This obviously requires a BPM.  If I use the JDBC Receiver Adapter Asynchronously (with no error handling) this is a piece of cake.  But after trying to use it synchronously along with error handling logic, I am stuck.
    This issue that I am facing is how to logically handle the JDBC Receiver Adapter Response XML in the BPM.  I would like to know what I need to do in the BPM in order to issue a CCMS alert (and/or send a message through the XI Email Adapter) ONLY if the <SAP:Error> XML is returned.
    Below are examples of the 2 types of response messages that I would receive back from the JDBC Receiver:
    Error:
      <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes" ?>
      <!--  Call Adapter -->
      <SAP:Error xmlns:SAP="http://sap.com/xi/XI/Message/30" xmlns:SOAP="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" SOAP:mustUnderstand="1">

      <SAP:Code area="MESSAGE">GENERAL</SAP:Code>
      <SAP:P1 />

      <SAP:ApplicationFaultMessage namespace="" />
      <SAP:Stack />
      <SAP:Retry>M</SAP:Retry>
      </SAP:Error>
    Success:
      <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
      <root_response>
      <StatementName1_response>
      <update_count>1</update_count>
      </StatementName1_response>
      </root_response>
    I have searched SDN for a while but did not find anything that specifically addressed this.  I would appreciate any help…

    Hi,
    In ur BPM wrap the jdbc send step with a exception block. in the exception block define a control step to throw an alert.
    so when the jdbc step fails, the exception is caught and an alert is generated by the control step.
    cheers,
    naveen
