JDBC Sender Mapping Problem

I am using a Receive Step to start a BPM with some DB Records, the Receive Step gets the resultset with some row elements but I notice that the message namespace is missing
<ns0:mt_avisoEst xmlns:ns0="urn:sap-dms:DMS_SAP_01">
</ns0:mt_avisoEst>
this is causing me problems with further mappings in the BPM, I am not using any message mapping for JDBC -> BPM. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks in advance.

    hi,
    Your connection should be :
    jdbc:oracle:thin:hutting/[email protected]:1521:pnt
    jdbc driver should be:

    I only hope that your other jdbc scenarios are working fine , this is just to rule out the possibility of driver related errors.

  • JDBC sender adapter: Update before mapping

    Dear all,
    following scenario:
    in a database we have a field called "statpi". We pick all messages that have statpi =  0 and
    update the data record to statpi = 1 via UPDATE function in JDBC sender adapter.
    Every select statement is limited to 100 data records for each message in PI.
    But if one data record is wrong and the mapping failed, of course the complete mapping failed.
    My problem: The update function of the JDBC sender adapter has already updated the
    data records, although they didn't have been send to target system.
    What I need is following thing: The adapter should send the messages and after PI has mapped
    the message and send it to target system, the UPDATE command should be executed.
    In my opinion, this is only possible with BPM, but I am not familiar with Advanced mode in JDBC
    sender adapter and "Transaction isolation level". Is there any workaround for this?
    Thanks
    Regards
    Chris

    The job that change the DB will be fixed on a certain time. We need to configure
    Availability Time Planning to be sure, that we start our select at another time.

    The adapter should poll every hour. Of course we will have some errors before the
    support is able to fix this problem, but because of one message each hour this should
    not be the main problem.
    > - You could do following: pass the values with an error flag, so you can handle this in receiver application,
    I am using the function formatNumber for the field that could raised the error. But to chekc if I am able
    to do a workaround here and let the target system fix the error sounds like an interessting possibility.
    > - Do a split mapping and create a file where you drop any wrong lines
    Also interessting. You mean that all "good" record should be mapped to struc1 and the bad one to struc2.
    I am thinking of how to determine which record is wrong. Perhaps with an UDF that checks for this special
    error.
    > - Use XML validation in sender adpter, so the messages are not processed.
    You are full of good ideas. I am not using validation yet and the mentioned field is define as string, but that
    is changeable. A good possibility to check the new capability of 7.1.
    > - use a stored procedure in DB whee you check data quality to send out.
    not sure what this is, but I will discuss with DB team.

    Bye,

    Hi,
    Does your other SDN post "Inserting data through JDBC adapter" refer to the same problem?
    I assume you use XMLSPY for creating XSDs.
    I used the XSD posted by you in the other forum thread and tried to generate the XML structure and it does not seem to generate the XML structure in the format required by the JDBC adapter.
    sample file generated from your XSD posted in the other forum thread:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

  • JDBC- XI- File Mapping Problem

    Hi everyone,
    I have the mapping problem.  atried a lot of possibilities, but unfortunately nothing helps... JDBC adapter returns (in my case - I'm just selecting SYSDATE from dual) this structure
    <resultset>
    <row>
       <SYSDATE>....</SYSDATE>
    </row>
    </resultset>
    I'm using 2 datatypes:
    a, row (it is called so) which is complextype and consists of subelement SYSDATE, which is string
    Exastly: row->SYSDATE
    b, resultset (it is called so) is complex type which consists of subelement of type row(type a - see above) (and this subelement is also called row) ...and it has of course subelement SYSDATE, which is String (see the data type a above)
    Exactly: resultset->row->SYSDATE
    The data type b is used for the outbound interface in the message coming from the JDBC Adapter, the type a is used for message type sent into the File Adapter
    (exactly: Message1String is the ResutSet Type(b), Message1String2 is the Row(a) type)
    Can somebody help me, what is wrong? I do always get mapping error... :O(
    Thanx, Peter

    So your message type has a different name?
    Take the name of your message type and link this to "document name" of your JDBC adapter configuration.
    Compare the xml output of the JDBC adapter (take this from the SXMB_MONI payload) with the default structure of the mapping (go to the mapping tool, test mode, create a new test and view the xml structure)

  • Problem with JDBC Sender adapter

    hi guys!
    I´ve problem in PI 7.0, with the JDBC Sender Adapter, execute select sentence and update status in Oracle database.
    In RWB Message Monitoring and SXMB_MONI I can't see any message.
    Someone have any idea how to fix it?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi David,
    First check on the sender communication channel, if no data has been picked up by PI on channel,
    then check the configuration of channel in the ID, especially select query.
    If that is ok, then ask the sender application team(oracle database team) to run the query on their side
    and to check if they are getting any data.
    There could be the possibility of error in data also.

  • JDBC Sender select/update problem

    Hi all,
    we have a serious problem. We are running the scenario JDBC>XI>RFC. In the JDBC sender adapter we do a select statement (select * from table where flag='0') and an update statement (update * from table set flag ='1' where flag='0'). Now, the problem is that when we do the select statement a third party system may insert data in the database, so the update statement updates MORE rows than the select statement has selected.
    Does anyone knows a solution (or a workaround).
    TIA

    Hi peter,
    can you check the transcation isolation level of your Database?
    one option would be to make the database transaction such that the write transaction gets locked when even the READ is being done. So, when your JDBC is trying to select the data from the database, the WRITE will get locked and so, no entries will get selected and then, UPDATE will get executed.
    Though I havent tried this, wouldnt it be possible?
    Also, go through the help documentation and check the Adavanced Setting and the Transaction Isolation and see if any of the XI options can also solve your problem.

  • JDBC to IDoc Mapping Problem

    Hello,
    I have a connection going from a SQL (via a JDBC connection), mapping into an IDOC.  Connections all work, but for some reason when I turn on the communication channel to pull from the database through a SELECT statement, I only get the header of the Idoc (below).  I have tried many different things and cannot see why the mapping does not seem to be working.  When I load the test data as a test instance in the mapping, it works.  Any help would be appreciated.

  • JDBC sender adapter - driver problems

    Hi.
    Iu2019m struggling with a little problem regarding the JDBC sender adapter, querying an Oracle database.
    Iu2019m making a simple SELECT statement, where one of the fields is of the typeu201DTIMESTAMP(0) WITH LOCAL TIMEu201D.
    Making the query in a SQL client works just fine, but in the JDBC sender adapter, it generates this error u201DError during conversion of query result to XML: java.sql.SQLException: Session Time Zone not set!u201D
    Iu2019ve searched for answers on numerous forums, and found one place, where the following where the solution:
    >>> Hi. The issue is that the driver itself needs to have a time zone
    >>> set. You have to call setSessionTimeZone() on the connection object.
    Unfortunately it is a bit hard to call this function in the adapter.
    Any of you guys have an idea what to do?
    I can add, that making a query, where no date fields are selected, works fine in the adapter.
    Regards...
    Peter

    Problem solved...
    Put a conversion (CONCAT, SUBSTR, TO_CHAR, etc.) around the date field you are about to fetch, and it works just fine.

  • JDBC Sender Adapter - Records sent one at a time

    Hello everyone,
    Here's a summary of my scenario JDBC > XI > RFC.
    My select statement (JDBC) looks like this:
    SELECT * FROM BATCH WHERE STATUS='Y'
    The problem is, whenever it returns multiple rows, the RFC can only accept one record at a time (1...1), so I need to pick up the records from the DB and send them one at a time.
    Currently, this is how the output XML looks like:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
      <ns:SQL_RESP_MT xmlns:ns="http://www.pharmaindustries.com">
      <row>
      <number>200000000472</number>
      <status>Y</status>
      </row>
      <row>
      <number>200000000473</number>
      <status>Y</status>
      </row>
      <row>
      <number>200000000474</number>
      <status>Y</status>
      </row>
    </ns:SQL_RESP_MT>
    Instead, I need each row to be picked up and sent one at a time.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
      <ns:SQL_RESP_MT xmlns:ns="http://www.pharmaindustries.com">

    </ns:SQL_RESP_MT>
    Does anyone know the changes I need to make in my current SELECT statement or the JDBC Sender Adapter to make this possible.
    Thanks in advance!
    Glenn

    Thank you all for your replies. I'll check out your link in a bit, Phani. Thanks!
    A SpliByValue won't work since the BAPI Header is (1...1).
    Luckily, during testing, I found out that the BAPI (BAPI_PRODORDCONF_CREATE_TT) handles multiple lines in one of the subelements of the header so that was where I mapped the Rows.
    I might need to trigger multiple BAPIs in the future, so I'll take a good look at your suggestions, but for now, I'm marking this question answered.
    Warm regards,
    Glenn

  • JDBC(Sender)-XI-RFC (Request) RFC (Response)-XI-JDBC(Receiver)

    Hi All,
    JDBC(Sender)-XI-RFC (Request)
    RFC (Response)-XI-JDBC(Receiver).
    Need some solution for sending email for successfully completion of scenario after updating SQL DB Table.
    Let me explain the scenario:
    We are pooling the SQL DB table to pull the records and map the records to RFC request parameters, after successful Posting the entries in R3 HR, RFC response contain the same with E (Error) S (Success) records status, we are updating the same in SQL DB table, I implemented the complete scenario without BPM with the help of module processor in Sending JDBC Adapter, scenario is working fine but now we have to send the successful mail to our support team with status contain Number of success, Error and total records as email.
    I need the solution how to implement the same requirement in current scenario.
    Is their way to do something with the RFC receiver adapter module addition to send the successful mail or generating Alert with all the description?
    I am at PI 7.0 SP12 with HP unix box.
    Thanks in Advance for creative idea
    With Regards
    Sunil

    Hi Bhavesh,
    Thanks for your help and your blog is really helpful. I implemented the UDF for generating Email Alert but this alert is generating before Updating the SQL Database, is their any way to generate alert after updating the SQL.
    Actually in my scenario we are sending the data from SQL to R3 by RFC and again updating the SQL status whatever the RFC return, after successfully updating SQL we need to send success email to support people but if we are sending the email before updating the DB then their will be problem.
    JDBC receiver after updating the SQL DB returns the response with No. of row updated but how to capture this response, if we can capture this response then we can send email through email adapter even their is one more problem, In my scenario I am counting the number of rows with status “S” and “E” and sending the same in alert email but if are sending email after updating the SQL DB where can hold the row count value and use it while sending the email.
    Implemented the scenario without using BPM..i am using sender JDBC module processor for Syn-Asyn bridge.
    Even I do not find the link to reward point. Please let me know how to do it.
    With Regards
    Sunil

  • JDBC receiver - Update problem

    Hi,
    Scenario: JDBC - RFC - JDBC scenario.
    1. JDBC to RFC part-
    A select statement from the JDBC sender, is mapped to the RFC in the ECC system)
    2. RFC response is then mapped to an Update query using a receiver JDBC adapter.
    (Please note: Only the RFC is synchronous. JDBC adpter is configured to be aynchronous here.)
    3. The scenario is working fine, with regard to XI (All chequered flags.)
    Problem: The DB does not get updated.
    The response we get from the DB has <update_count> of 0
    4. The same query, (taken from XI's audit log) and executed in the DB executes fine.
    5. We are using the same user id, to update the table through XI(in the communication channel) and while executing the query manually.
    Hence a user permission problem, could be ruled out.
    6. DB used is Oracle 8i.
    Any hints on what the problem might be?
    Thanks,
    Smitha.

    Hi,
    >>>>3. The scenario is working fine, with regard to XI (All chequered flags.)
    Problem: The DB does not get updated.
    The response we get from the DB has <update_count> of 0
    I guess the easiest way to identify this issue would be to check the DB log in this operation
    (not adapter log on XI)
    then you will know exactly what is getting executed by the adapter and why it fails

  • JDBC Sender to JDBC Receiver || Acknowledgement

    Hi Experts,
    the scenario is the following:
    JDBC sender to poll a database and receive data from table a (Query SQL Statement)
    after the mapping, a JDBC receiver inserts the resultset from a into table b.
    okay, so far, now the action is done and the sender adapter has to delete the resultset from table a (with the Update SQL Statement)
    the problem is now how to ensure that only the resultset is deleted from a IF its really inserted into b? means: how to tell any adapter that the update-command is only done when the insert worked correctly?
    thanks in advance
    Chris

    First of all, u will have to make an async call from JDBC. The scenario wouldn't be that good in design :).
    The only thing to be taken care should be the poll interval. It should be large enough so that the BPM processing is complete otherwise the polling of same data will occur twice. (U may use Planning Availability Times concept here).
    I understand that the UPDATE statement is mandatory
    U can write Test to just don't update anything.
    Now the data would be sent to receiver and after the successful receipt at receiver, BPM send step would be triggered with the update statement to actually update the table.
    Hope it makes everything clear
    Regards,
    Prateek
