JDev 9.0.3.3 & BI Beans

How I can install BI Beans 9.0.3.2 (latest release) over JDeveloper 9.0.3.3 ?
Now I get a message for version incompatibility.

HI
I found in metalink a note which describes how you can manipulate the installation process.
Edit the entry "-Dproduct.version=9.0...." to a value listet in the error message box. After installation alter the entry to the old value.
Hope this helps,

  • JDev doesn't recognise my EJB3 beans as beans

    It thinks they're PoJos. The beans are developed from its own CMP Bean producing wizard. I've about 15 other beans in this package generated in the same way and it recognises those as EJB Persistent Entity beans...
    The problem is that now when I try to generate Facade beans to actually use these entities, the Facade bean wizard won't show me these 2 new beans in its list. So I can't create Facades. I don't feel like manually writing all that code to do 'findByAll' calls and such like.
    Does anyone know why JDev has suddenly stopped seeing these 2 classes as beans? They've got the same annotations and imports, and implements as all the others.
    (Also, I'd like to raise a feature request. What's the point of JDev showing ALL the entity beans in my project AND having them all ticked when creating a new Session Facade bean? I only want to use the one that has the same spelling as the facade I'm creating!! Please default this wizard to only check the Core Facade methods and let me tick the one other bean that I actually want methods created for)

  • How to do arithmetic with two attribute values in a jsp in JDev 10.1.2?

    Hi!
    I need to compute Density value using two attributes being shown in my jsp (i.e. bindings.Spacing and bindings.Area), Density = bindings.Area/bindings.Spacing.
    How can I do this in JDev 10.1.2 in my jsp?

    Hello pino,
    Can you show me how to create a backing bean in JDev 10.1.2? What I usually work on is the DataForwardAction code in this version of JDev. Is this the "backing bean" you're talking about? If so, can you give me sample code?
    Thanks and hope you can help me!

  • Error connecting to 9i Olap Services from JDev9i BI Beans - bug ?? (urgent)

    I am using JDeveloper 9i Relase Candidate with BI Beans Pre-lease Add-in as client and Oracle 9i Database (9.0.1.0) running on HP-UX.
    I patched Oracle 9i Database with the latest patchsets.
    I haven't find any patches both for BI Beans and Olap Services Option on HP-UX 9i DB (there are patches only for Solaris and Windows versions but no patches for HP-UX Olap Services)
    Olap services is running and OLAPServer context (and permisions) are set corretly (rwx rights on PUBLIC, OLAPDBA, OLAPSVR, SYS, etc.)
    I have the following problem. When I try to connect to the Olap Services (running on HP-UX 64bit) from JDev 9i RC (Win NT) BI Beans Designer the Olap Services instances are found and then when I try to test (connect) connection to the chosen Olap Services Instance (which is running) I am getting the error that connection to the OLAP Services failed and I should check if it is running (and I know it is running). When I checked details I got following description :
    1. BI-16601 error
    and
    2. Cannot locate IOR for OLAPServer
    here are some details:
    oracle.dss.connection.common.ConnectionException: BIB-16601 ....
    javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: Cannot locate IOR for OLAPServer ..... etc.
    I cannot also run Cube Viewer from Enterprise Manager. When I'm running it I'm getting a strange error window without any description (only error icon).
    I also noticed the following message in OES (Olap services) log :
    [ 1] 3 01/14/2002 15:24:10 OES Kernel - Remote Operations Interface resolution failed.
    Is it possible to connect from BI Beans to the 9i running on HP-UX or maybe it is not even possible because there is no patches which allows to HP-UX 9i to work properly with JDev9i BI BEANS ??
    Anyone can help me ???
    Regards,
    Aleksander Miler

    As I know BIBEans needs a Patch in OLAP Services wich is not yet available (something like 9.0.2.x).
    The patch's release date was "end of january" but I didn't find it.
    Plase could Oracle inform us about the releae date ?

    I think you should double click on that notice to jump to the line of code which supposedly is faulty and inspect it. The UI editor is a bit 'buggy' and sometimes displays strange notices while the application compiles just fine. You should try to upgrade to 9.0.3 as I believe those notices are mostly fixed in that version.

  • Eclipse-Wtp/Subversion --- jDev 10.1.32

    First, congrats on a useful ide. (Has come a long way since ver 9.)
    Coming from Eclipse/wtp/jboss, I want to migrate a j2ee workspace that has projects:
    1. LIBS (a jar file used by both, web/war and ejb projects).
    2. EJB's (a j2ee ejb jar file using session, mdb's, and cmp2.1 entitys.)
    3. WEB (a war file with html's & servlets that call methods in the session beans.)
    The good news is that all the code is in a subversion repos and that I can access it from the jDev plugin. But I need some specific 'handholding' please.
    A. In Eclipse I have an option to start a new project from a project in the repos. (Check out as new project.) How do I accomplish this in jDev?
    B. I would like to deploy these to oc4j. Will jDev generate oc4j dd's based on the jboss and j2ee dd's?
    B1. Message ques need to be created in oc4j AND assigned to mdb's via jndi.
    B2. JNDI calls in general, used thruout the code, should be oc4j compatible.
    The ideal scenario, of course would be that I simply import the projects, press a button, and all deploys and runs(!) on oc4j. The question is, how close can I get to this?
    Thank you.
    nat

    Try to first create a project in JDeveloper and then while in it check-out the code from subversion into its directory.
    You'll then need to go into project properties->project content and also the sub nodes there to set the various directories that are used for you web app and ejb app.
    One other way that might be easier is if you have a WAR file - then you can do create project from WAR file.
    For the libs directory you might want to go into project properties->libraries and create a new library with all your jar files.
    JDeveloper can help you create OC4J specific deployment descriptors through code insight in the editor but it doesn't have a "convert from jboss" button.
    Also note that the embedded OC4J in JDev can run entity and session beans but not mdb. You'll need a stand alone OC4J to run those on. You can deploy from JDeveloper to that OC4J directly and you can also set remote debugging for it.

  • Create backing bean after page created - 11g

    Is there a way in JDev 11g to create a backing bean (bb) for a page fragment after the page fragment is created?
    I know you can create the bb a time of page creation, but how about after then?

    I have an editable form that is showing values for the current row.
    When I click 'CreateInsert' with immediate="true" (to avoid validation) the old values stay populated in the form. I want to clear the values so the form comes back empty on refresh.
    I figured that I would add an actionListener method on the backing bean in which I programmatically set the submitted values to null (those values coming in on the request from the current row).
    I started the following thread to solve a problem, which lead to this thread:
    stop client validation (11g)

  • Jdev creating packages

    jdev creates a package and bean every time I add a page to my faces project through the wizard. I want one package for all of the backing beans in a particular directory, but jdev seems hell-bent on creating a package for each new page. Also, every time I add a component to a page that a package/bean was created for, jdev will create the package and bean again incorrectly.
    I have these packages:
    view.backing
    user
    Jdev keeps creating user.backing package and places all of the beans in there. Any ideas?

    You can prevent the auto-creation of a backing bean by unchecking the preference "Auto Bind JSF Components" in the Tools > Preferences > JSP and HTML Visual Editor screen

  • Oracle.toplink.internal.helper.NonSynchronizedVector exception

    I get following exception when invoking session bean from EJB client generated by JDev (EJB JPA project). Session bean returns the list of value objects created using TopLink Essentials based JPA native query. Does anybody know what is causing this exception and if there is a workaround?
    java.lang.ClassCastException: oracle.toplink.internal.helper.NonSynchronizedVector
    List<ProfileBasicVO> profiles = searchFacade.queryBasicProfilesByLastName( partialName );
    I get exception at this point:
    for( ProfileBasicVO profile: profiles ) {
    System.out.println( "lastName = " + profile.getLastName() );
    ...

    I changed the code to return List and I added mapping as a second parameter:
    public List queryBasicProfilesByLastName(String partialName) {
    Query basicProfileQuery =em.createNativeQuery( "findBasicProfilesByLastName", "BasicProfileResults" );
    return basicProfileQuery.getResultList();
    It fails with following exception:
    Internal Exception: java.sql.SQLException: SQL string is not QueryError Code: 17128
    and the query is defined as
    <query>
    select o.last_name as LAST_NAME,
    o.first_name as FIRST_NAME,
    o.middle_name as MIDDLE_NAME,

    where o.PERSON_ID = b.PERSON_ID
    and b.PERSON_BOOK_ID = a.PERSON_BOOK_ID
    and o.last_name = 'POTTER'
    </query>
    Mapping is defined as:
    <sql-result-set-mapping name="BasicProfileResults">
    <entity-result entity-class="entities.Persons">
    <field-result column="LAST_NAME" name="lastName"/>
    <field-result column="FIRST_NAME" name="firstName"/>

    <field-result column="BIRTH_DATE" name="birthDate"/>
    <field-result column="SEX_CODE" name="sexCode"/>

    <field-result column="HEIGHT_CM" name="heightCm"/>
    <field-result column="WEIGHT_KG" name="weightKg"/>
    </entity-result>
    </sql-result-set-mapping>
    I can execute the query manually without problem, i.e. it is valid query, but I still get exception

  • Is bibeans supported in JDeveloper11 ?

    Hello All,
    Can any one tell me if bibeans is supported in JDeveloper 11?
    any information in this regard is highly appreciated,,
    Thanks,

    No, BI Beans is not supported with JDev 11g. To run BI Beans you need to install Oracle JDeveloper 10g 10.1.2.2 build 1929 prior to installing BI Beans 10.1.2.2. JDeveloper 10.1.2.2 is available in JDeveloper Archives. Note that JDeveloper 10.1.3 is currently not supported either.
    I have not seen dates for when later versions of JDev, such as 11g will be supported.

  • Error connecting to bi bean catalog with jdev

    I'm in the process of getting the bibdemo up and running.
    Started with oracle 9ir2 and applied the patch set 1 as directed by the bib903 installation instructions. After installtion of bib903 ran catalog creation scripts without any errors. Installed the bibdemo (latest) without any errors as well.
    Started up jdeveloper....
    While testing my connection to the bi bean catalog I get
    an error telling me that the connection was successful but the metadata is not valid and could not be retrieved.
    As far as I can tell, everything is valid. I went ahead and copied the jdbc drives from oracle_home/jdbc/* from the database into the jdev/jdbc/home.. Also i removed the olap api 901 jar from the 'available library list'
    Neither things seem to make a difference...

    Hi
    As part of your patching process did you run the sql module CATPATCH.SQL? If not please refer to the patch note instructions for details on how to apply this patch. This patch must be fully applied for BI Beans 9.0.3 to work correctly.
    Also please check that olap_api_92.jar is in the JDEV_HOME/jdev/lib/ext directory. This will ensure that the correct connection architecture is in place. If the file is not in this directory copy it from the JDEV_HOME/bibeans/lib directory. The file olap_api_901.jar must not be in the JDEV_HOME/jdev/lib/ext directory, if it is please delete it.
    Hope this helps

    I have installed the ADF runtime libraries at the application server so why won't it find this class ?

    We installed the ias again completely deployed our application and were able to run this simple test without errors. Then we installed the ADF Runtime (from JDev 10.1.3, without errors) and then the error in our application came again.
    We reverted the ADF Runtime installation so I don't currently have the 10.1.3 runtime installed on the Application Server.
    A simple test case would be:
    1. create new business components project
    2. define a database connection (e.g. scott)
    3. generate business components from tables (e.g. scott.emp), make a entity, a view object and an applicationmodule
    4. define a connection to an application server (in our case it is ias 10.1.2 on solaris)
    5. right click the appmodule and select "business components deployment"
    6. select EJB session beans (not simple archive)
    7. in the next step select the application module and create new local configuration
    8. deploy to appserver (using enterprise manager, I think direct deployment from JDev 10.1.3. to ias 10.1.2 is not possible)
    9. right click the EJB (in JDev) that was created after step 7 and select "new sample java client"
    10. uncomment the line where create is called.
    11. run the sample client

  • Using Message Driven bean in JDev 9.0.3.2

    Hi all,
    I'm trying to create a Message bean in JDeveloper 9.0.3.2. I've used the wizard which has (very nicely) created me the bean files, i have also set up OC4J server and deployed to it and it seems to run fine.
    Now, i'm trying to create a class (in the same project) that sends a message to the bean but i'm having problems. Session beans in JDev have a very nice option to create a Sample Java Client but there is no equivalent "Sample Message Creator" for message beans.
    Anyway, my code is as follows...
    Context ctx = new InitialContext();
    TopicConnectionFactory factory = (TopicConnectionFactory)ctx.lookup("javax.jms.TopicConnectionFactory");
    ....more code to create and send message
    However, i don't know where to lookup the factory from, this line gives me an error presumably because javax.jms.TopicConnectionFactory is incorrect. What is the Oracle lookup for this ? Where do i find it out from ?
    Any advice would be appreciated, sorry this is not a posting on 10g which i haven't had chance to look at yet (though i hear it's very nice).
    Alistair

    You might find the sample code which is part of OC4J-howto's useful.
