JDev - Web Services

Hi Guys,
I'm new in oracle Jdeveloper, basically I'm trying to create a web service that returns more than one value like (select object_name from all_objects where owner=p_owner) where p_owner is an input parameter. So, I tried create from a pl/sql procedure but using ref cursor the wizard doesn't work. Any one can give a guide line how to build it?
tks

Can anyone please help me -- I am really stuck.
Thanks,
J

  • 10.1.3.3 JDev web service client proxy: Issue with XSD:anySimpleType

    Hi,
    One of our Web services XSD elementss has "anySimpleType" as the type:
    <xsd:element name="Value" type="xsd:anySimpleType" minOccurs="0" nillable="true"/>
    The client proxy is generated using JDev 10.1.3.3. We observed that the corresponding Java object is created with "String" data type:
    protected java.lang.String value;
    exp.setValue("100");
    We need to be able to pass arguments with other simple types as well (E.g. Decimal). We tried changing the auto generated code, but weren't successful.
    Any pointers in this regard are much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Phani

  • Jdev web service and SOAP header

    Hello,
    How can I implement a web service in jdev that extracts some elements from the SOAP header ?
    How can I implement a web service proxy in jdev so that it inserts elements in SOAP header?
    Thank you.
    The operation WSDL looks approx like this:
              <operation name="SoapDDXML">
                   <soap:operation soapAction="someaction"/>
                   <input>
                        <soap:body
                             use="encoded"
                             namespace="ns"
                             encodingStyle="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/"
                             parts="psXML"/>
                   </input>
                   <output>
    <soap:Header>
    <OurCredentials xmlns="ns">
    <UserName>string</UserName>
    <Password>string</Password>
    </OurCredentials>
    </soap:Header>
                        <soap:body
                             use="encoded"
                             namespace="ns"
                             encodingStyle="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/"
                             parts="Result"/>
                   </output>
              </operation>

    Hello,
    When using OracleAS/JDeveloper 10.1.3.x you are creating Web Service using the standard JAX-RPC API. This API uses the SOAP with Attachments API for Java (SAAJ) to manipulate SOAP messages.
    When dealing with SOAP Header, it is common usage to use the notion of "handler" to set/read header from the messages.
    The chapter "Using JAX-RPC Handler" is a good point to start to see how do deal with this requirement,
    When manipulating the header in the handler, the code will look like:
    SOAPHeader header = message.getSOAPHeader();
    Name headerName = soapFactory.createName("OurCredentials", "ns", "http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/");
    .. // add sub element
    SOAPHeaderElement headerElement = header.addHeaderElement(headerName);also..
    Could you specify the version of JDeveloper and the type of Web Service that you are using when ascking a question on the forum it help community member to provide a better answer.

  • Java proxy generation exc. for web service correspond. to a BPEL process

    Hello,
    I wrote a BPEL process (having two client methods) that is exposed as an RPC web service. One of the web services invoked by this BPEL process uses a complex data type that is defined in a separate schema XSD file (imported in the corresponding WSDLs). This complex data type is also returned by one of the methods exposed by the BPEL process. From the BPEL point of view everything is fine now: the process was successfully built, deployed and initiated from the BPEL console.
    When I tried to generate the web service Java proxy classes from the BPEL process corresponding WSDL, I obtained an error signaling that complex type defined in the imported XSD file cannot be found. The exception is:

    You should post this question to the JDev Web Service forum. I know that they had some limitation in 9.0.4 with some complex types. It is my understanding that those problems have been addressed in 10.1.3. They would be the right people to confirm this. -Edwin

  • Error while creating web services proxy in Jdev. 10.1.3

    Hello,
    I created a web service using jdev.10.1.2 and created successfully a ws proxy with the the same version.
    However when I try to generate a ws proxy using 10.1.3, I am getting error:

  • Doubts developing web services on JDev 10.1.3.0.4

    Hi,
    I was trying to follow this guide
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/oramag/webcolumns/2003/techarticles/balusamy.html
    in order to develop this web service on Jdev 10.1.3.0.4.
    But the menus are different from the version used on the tutorial. I´m having some difficulties with the selections that i have to make in the menus. Also, after trying several options, the files generated are different from the ones that appear on this tutorial.
    Does anyone know how to reproduce this tutorial on this version of jdev ?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    The guide you were refering was pointing to 10.1.2 wizards.
    For the latest 10.1.3 tutorial, please follow the below tutorial link :

  • Web Service Proxy client to invoke a Web service on SSL (Jdev 10.1.3.1)

    Hi,
    I have to develope a Web Service proxy client to invoke a web service on SSL. First I'm testing with OC4J 10.1.3.1 and JDEV 10.1.3.1 and did this:
    1) Developed a basic PL/SQL Web Service with JDEV and publish on my standalone OC4J.
    2) Made a test with a browser, it worked OK
    3) Generated a proxy client from JDev 10.1.3.1 to invoke web service, it worked OK
    --- Now make it work on SSL----
    4) Then, added SSL configuration to oc4j , generated a certificate with keytool (updated server.xml, secure-web-site.xml), and shutting down and starting the OC4j instance.
    5) Import the certificate to JAVA_HOME/jre/lib/security/cacerts
    6) Test web service from browser on https and worked OK.
    7) When tried to modified proxy client (generated in step 3) to make it work on SSL, I realized that just changing the END_POINT to the new url (https) it worked!
    Questions----
    1.- By default the proxy client generated from JDEV 10.1.3.1 knows how to deal with SSL conections?
    2.- If I dont have previously the server certificate to import it into JAVA keystore (cacerts) how could I ,from proxy client code, capture it and import it before the validation occurs... because if the certificate is not in keystore , the program fails.
    Thanks in advance
    J.

    Hi,
    Could you please provide me with the steps necessary to create a web service proxy client through JDeveloper or any other mechanism when 2 way SSL (requiring client authentication) is enabled.

  • Slow response when calling a web service from an ADF client in JDev 11g

    I have generated a web service (WS) for a stored procedure package with 3 functions. The WS has less than 1 second response times when I use the standard WS testing facility. I then created a data control for the WS selecting the default values in the JDev wizard. When I test the functions from a very basic ADF client the response times for the same functions are between 3-4 seconds i.e. very SLOW compared to the actual response time of WS. I need some advice on how to investigate this performance degredation as seen from the ADF client.
    Could the problem be that the data control was created from a web service in the same project? Maybe it is necessary to have them in separate projects or create a proxy?
    I created and tested the web service with the standard WS test tool and then simply went on to create a data control from this web service for use from a ADF client.
    Some background info:
    I saw the following warning in step 8 of the WS creation wizard:
    "The configured policy store location at "C:\Oracle\Middleware\jdeveloper\j2ee\home\gmds" is invalid. Application cannot read policies from this location. Check that the directory name is correct and the location exists."
    Also I can confirm that there is no j2ee directory in my environment.
    The application server logs the following for each call from the ADF client:

    Find solution. Check this thread:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/wdjava/faq%2b-%2bmodels%2b-%2badaptive%2bweb%2bservice
    The com.sap.tc.webdynpro.model.webservice.api.IWDWSInvocationModifier interface can be implemented by an application using the Adaptive Web Service model in order to modify the web service invocation object just before it's execution. Invocation modifiers need to be registered with the executable model class for which invocation is to be modified:
    Request_NumberToWords requestMO = new Request_NumberToWords(model);
    requestMO.wdSetInvocationModifier(
      new IWDWSInvocationModifier() {
        public void doModifyInvocation(Object port) {
          HTTPControlInterface httpItf = HTTPControlFactory.getInterface(port);
          //timeout for this WS invocation is 120 sec; don't use global config. setting of WS-Runtime
          httpItf.setSocketTimeout(120000);
        public void doModifyAfterInvocation() {}
    Best regards.

  • Securing a 1.5 web service using J2EE security and JDev 11g

    Hello,
    I'm looking for a tutorial or similar that will help me create a secure (1.5 EE with annotations) web service. I'm interested in just the development view at this point - xml file mods, etc.
    I did find a good resource on how to do this in 10.1:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/101/howtos/securews/index.html
    and am wondering if it has been updated (even beta!) or in another form.
    Thanks

    Steve,
    The WSDLBaseURL property just prepends a string to the WSDL URL property so that you can abstract out the protocol, server and port values separately depending on the target system you wish to hit for the service call.
    Regards,
    Sam

  • Create a web service in jdev from an EJBSessionBean

    Hi,
    can someone tell me how to create a web service from an EJBSessionBean.java in jdev?
    I do like the EJBSessionBean was a simple java class but the web service doesn't work
    thanks

    hi again,
    i m going to tell you what i ve done:
    1- i created an entity bean from existing table(table users)
    2- then i create the session bean (methods are just the CRUD ones)
    3- after that i add a java service facade wich i use to generate a web service(all is good, generation is done and deployement of the web service is done without errors)
    4- then i run my web service. for exemple if i invoke the queryusersfindall it should display the data on the table, but what i get is an error:
    <env:Envelope
    xmlns:env="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"
    xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
    xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"

  • Web service security using Jdev 10.1.2.0.2

    Hi
    I am currently developing our first web service. It is based on a pl/sql procedure. We are using App server 10.1.2.0.2 and Jdev 10.1.2.0.2.
    I found this document
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/howtos/1013/wssecure/10gwssecurity_howto.html
    However it is based on JDev 10.1.3. I managed to create the webservice and set security settings in Jdev 10.1.3 however I had problems when creating an app server connection. And the web service would not deploy to our 10.1.2.0.2 app server.
    Are there any security options available when creating web services in Jdev 10.1.2.0.2? Is it expected that Jdev 10.1.3 won't be able to deploy to our 10.1.2.0.2 app server?
    thanks

    Hi
    Thanks for your reply
    I downloaded OC4J 10.1.2.0.2 and ran it as as a standalone server.
    I read the blog you linked and made the changes to the web.xml for the webservice. All of which I was able to do using the property palette in jdev 10.1.2.1.0.
    I deployed my webservice to my oc4j standalone server and it appeared as a new application. I editied the orion-web.xml for the new application manually.
    When I point my browser at the webservice I get the test page which allows me to pass parameters to the webserive. I invoke the webservice (which does a HTTP GET according to the test page) and the webservice runs. No user and password is needed though.
    What is the expected behaviour? I was hoping that the webservice wouldn't run until I supplied the admin user name and password

  • Jdev 11 Web Service Tester can't be invoked because WSDL Doc can't be read

    After installing successfully JDev 11.1.1.1.33.54.07 under Debian (Ubuntu 7.10) I proceed with the tutorial "Building and using Web Services ..."
    The 1. lesson ends with trying to test the webservice via the context menu of a .java source which was modified during the lesson. But I get a message similar to that in the header line of this request. I looked up where the WSDL files are: in a directory named somewhat like TemporaryWSDL3060535909151966550 under /temp. The logged in user has read and execute permission on that directory.
    here are some red colored messages I get:

    I tried the 1st lesson of the tutorial "Building and using Web Services with JDev 11g" under Windows. There it works.
    Again I tried under Linux (Ubuntu 7.10). I restarted from scratch with the tutorial, copied the zip file into another directory.
    The problem remains the same. But now I get more infos with the error message window:

  • Problem accessing JDev Generated Web Service on PL/SQL Package

    Hi,
    I'v generated a web service from a pl package using the wizard in JDev for use with Adobe Flex builder. Adobe says they support two types of web services, WSDL 1.1 RPC-Encoded and Document-literal. When I create the web service as Document literal, I am able to consume the web service without errors, however, adobe cannot parse the xml because of the namespace tags. I then created an RPC-encoded type of webservice but then when I run my Flex application, it gives following error:
    [WSDLError faultString="Type tns1:text_xml not resolvable" faultCode="WSDL.BadType" faultDetail="null"]
         at mx.rpc.soap::WSDLParser/http://www.adobe.com/2006/flex/mx/internal::parseMessage()
         at mx.rpc.soap::WSDLOperation/parseMessages()
         at mx.rpc.soap::Operation/http://www.adobe.com/2006/flex/mx/internal::invokePendingCall()
         at mx.rpc.soap::Operation/send()
         at Function/http://adobe.com/AS3/2006/builtin::apply()
         at mx.rpc.soap.mxml::Operation/send()
         at SandBox/__btnGetEmployees_click()
    It seems that it does not like either something in the encoded message or the WSDL. Below is my WSDL:
