JDev3.2/JSP/JSTree

Here's what I want to do...
<jsp:useBean class="oracle.jdeveloper.jsp.wb.JSTreeData" id="myTree_Data" scope="request">
<%
myTree_Data.setName("myTreeJS_Data");
myTree_Data.initialize(pageContext);
myTree_Data.addRow("1.0","closed",3,request.getRequestURI(),true);
myTree_Data.addRow("1.1","open",0,"",true);
myTree_Data.addRow("1.2","closed",2,request.getRequestURI(),true);
myTree_Data.addRow("1.2.1","open",0,"",true);
myTree_Data.addRow("1.2.2","open",0,"",true);
myTree_Data.addRow("1.3","open",0,"",true);
myTree_Data.addRow("2.0","closed",3,request.getRequestURI(),true);
myTree_Data.addRow("2.1","open",0,"",true);
myTree_Data.addRow("2.2","open",0,"",true);
myTree_Data.addRow("2.3","closed",4,request.getRequestURI(),true);
myTree_Data.addRow("2.3.1","open",0,"",true);
myTree_Data.addRow("2.3.2","open",0,"",true);
myTree_Data.addRow("2.3.3","open",0,"",true);
myTree_Data.addRow("2.3.4","open",0,"",true);
myTree_Data.render();
%>
</jsp:useBean>
<jsp:useBean class="oracle.jdeveloper.jsp.wb.JSTree" id="myTree" scope="request" >
<%
myTree.setName("myTreeJS");
myTree.setDataSource("myTreeJS_Data");
myTree.initialize(pageContext);
myTree.render();
%>
</jsp:useBean>
Here are two parent items (closed) that contain child items (and some of the children have children themselves).
What I want to do is use the (+) to selectively expand portions of the tree and unexpand them at will.
I believe that using request.getRequestURI() is not what I want to use in this case for each of the 'Parent' nodes that can be expanded to show children.
Any ideas?

I met the same problem in my project. Have you already found out the answer? If you do, would you mind to pass your secret to me?
I have tried to bepass the Oracle JSTree. You can create your own tree by looking some examples in www.dynamicdrive.com.

  • Jdev3.2,Jsp,BC4J, Data Tags : Unexpected exception Caught

    I wrote an jsp aplication, with data tags based on BC4J module.
    when I run the application the first time, everything is Ok. the second Time an Unexpected exception is thrown.
    the first module displayed in the error message is

    I thought that the problem is the module so
    I runned the application module in the BC4J tester tool every thing is ok
    I created a new aplication module but without any result.
    I created a jsp Application based on the same application module but using the datawebbean and everything is ok also.
    and here is a code that let the exception thrown.

    hi Juan
    I didn't copy all the code source. but the releasepageresources tag is there. and I have only put this code because when I delete it no exception is thrown so the problem is there( in data tags).
    more than this when this exception is thrown I have only to relog to a new windows 2000 session and no exception is thrown.
    cheers

  • JDev3.0's JSP and Applet works on NT but doesn't work on Win98, why?

    JDeveloper3.0 works fine on WindowNT machine when I run JSP files and Applet, but at home the JDeveloper3.0 cannot trigger the browser to display the result on my Windows98 machine when I run the JSP files or Applet. Why? How can I make it works for me at home. Other tools, such as J++6.0 and JBuilder work with Applet on the same machine. Who can help me?

    James,
    The JDeveloper 3.0 design time environment is not supported on Windows98. Some functions might work under Win98 but they are not supported.
    Sorry!

    I have created a domain subclassing from oracle.jbo.domain.Number, to allow for the formatting of numbers.
    I attached this new domain to a attribute of an entity object e.g. bid. When using the tester, the number is displayed correctly.
    When assessing the view (e.g bidView), from the JSP client, i get the error:

  • Jsp deployed from jdev3.2 to oracle 9ias

    simply can anyone give me tips on how to deploy jsp bc4j application from jdeveloper 3.2 to oracle 9ias (1.0.2) enterprise edition release 2

    Hi,
    The version of Oracle9i JDeveloper that you are using is the pre-production Release Candidate. Are you able to download the production version from OTN? We made many changes between the release candidate and production and I suspect that your project will work 'out of the box' with the production version. If it does not, I will be able to help you.

    But when I do that it does not compile.
    Please correct me if I am wrong. I suspect my contructor inside code super() is not enough the parameters got lost. (btw) i will give you the dukes, please just verify my code.

  • Calling Oracle Stored Procedure from BC4J JSP App

    I am on an extremely tight deadline and am trying to get my JSP application to use an Oracle Stored Procedure. I need to take some input from the user and send these values as parameters. Has anyone worked with Stored Procedures in JDev3.1? Please reply with some sample code if possible.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    Someone posted a similar request the other day. Here is my response to them:
    Basically, you need to create a custom method from your JSP's ViewObject, which calls the stored procedure. You can then call the ViewObject's custom method from the JSP client.
    Here is how I have done it:
    1. Choose the ViewObject that your JSP is based on and choose 'Edit' from the context menu.
    2. On the Java tab of the ViewObject wizard, choose Generate Java File checkbox for the View Object Class and click the Finish button. A file is created under the ViewObject node in the Navigator named 'viewobjectImpl.java'.
    3. Open the viewobjectImpl.java file in the code editor and create a method to call your stored procedure (see sample code below).
    4. Compile the VOImpl.java file.
    5. Choose the view object again, and choose Edit again from the context menu.
    6. On the Client Methods tab, you should now see your method appear in the Available field. Select it and shuttle it to the Selected field.
    7. Click Finish to leave the VO wizard, and rebuild your Business Components project.
    8. In your JSP, call the custom method (see sample code below).
    sample code for custom method calling a stored procedure from VOImpl.java file:
    public int getTotalHits(String mon, String year) {
    CallableStatement stmt = null;
    int total;
    // the call to the PL/SQL stored proc
    String totalhits = "{? = call walkthru.total_hits(?,?)}";
    // use the AM conxn 2 call storedproc
    stmt = getDBTransaction().createCallableStatement(totalhits, 1);
    try
    // Bind the Statement Parameters and //Execute this Statement
    stmt.registerOutParameter(1,Types.INTEGER);
    stmt.setString(2,mon); stmt.setString(3,year);
    stmt.execute();
    total = stmt.getInt(1);
    catch (Exception ex)
    throw new oracle.jbo.JboException(ex);
    finally
    try
    stmt.close();
    catch (Exception nex)
    return total;
    sample render code for calling custom method from JSP custom bean:
    public void render() {
    int totalhits;
    try
    Row[] rows;
    // Retrieve all records by default, the qView variable is defined in the base class
    qView.setRangeSize(-1);
    qView.first();
    rows = qView.getAllRowsInRange();
    // instantiate a view object for our exported method
    // and call the stored procedure to get the total
    ViewObject vo = qView.getViewObject();
    wtQueryView theView = (wtQueryView) vo;
    totalhits = theView.getTotalHits(session.getValue("m").toString(),session.getValue("y").toString());
    out.println(totalhits);
    } catch(Exception ex)
    throw new RuntimeException(ex.getMessage());
    }

  • Using web beans in JSP

    I would like to know how create a tree using Web Beans that Jdeveloper provides. Using the web object editor I could add two Beans which mapped to JSTree and JSTreeData(in oracle.jdeveloper.jsp.wb package), though I don't know the difference between them. I tried to include Both these beans in the JSP(which appear as tags) but I am unable to render the tree. Let's say I have a parent node (text: row1, url: url1, 3 childs) and 3 child nodes (text: row2..row4, url: url2..url4, each with no childs). How do I write it in the JSP to render it properly

    Patrick,
    JDeveloper will only run on Windows NT. It looks from the error that JDeveloper can't execute the .exe file.
    Are you running JDev on a different platform?

  • Servlet/JSP interaction within the development enviroment

    I am looking for some insite into how to have JSP's interact with servlets in the JDev3.1 enviroment.
    In developing systems using an MVC pattern, I register (using ServletExec) the servlet for something like action.jsp. Then I use the RequestDispatcher to dispatch to the appropriate JSP. I am looking for insite into how to register a servlet(s) to allow the interaction as described in the JDeveloper enviroment.
    Thanks
    Ken

    Is this an acceptable method for instantiating the servlet and calling a methodNo, this is an acceptible way of invoking a normal java class, not a servlet. Servlets need to be instantiated in run by the webserver by means of either calling it using a browser, or linking/redirecting to it from a JSP.
    When a servlet cannot be found, this is most likely due to it not being properly mapped inside the web.xml file, or the .class file is not stored in the proper directory. The fact that JBoss could run the servlet is a mystery to me however, one would expect that both servers would behave the same...
    One thing that I can think of: is your servlet part of a package? If not that may be the problem, you should always put servlets in a package.

  • How to configure JSTree web been

    I am trying to use JSTree web bean in my jsp pages. I can run it correctly from within my IDE i.e JDeveloper 3.2. But when I look at the HTML source of the page generated, I find that it always refers to to a fixed drectory structure for getting the .js files. My question is how do I make the JSTree web bean to generate the code so that .js file can come from any arbitray directory.

    According to the release notes, for the JRCHelperSample to compile, you must set the target runtime for the project.
    To do this, either create a project from scratch that uses the Tomcat 5.5 target runtime, or go to the properties menu and ensure that the target runtime is set to the application server you will be using.

  • .How can I add data from one list to other in Jsp Page

    Hi..I have three multiple selection ListBox..I want to add the selected item from 2 list boxes to 3rd list box how can i do that..do i need to write javascript? If possible then suggest me some link where i can get help?
    Thanks
    Regards
    Chintan

    Yep, Javascript.
    Unless you want to post the data to the server and then rewrite the page (ie. jsp/servlets) then you are going to need to use a client side script to modify the page.
    Javascript. You need to get the onClick() event of one list box and get the item that was clicked. then you can rewrite the 3rd list box.
    If possible, try doing a search on google. Or do you want someone to hold your hand.
