JDeveloper 10g and Table Viewer

For JDeveloper 10g, after creating a connection under the database node, right-clicking on a synonym or table does not provide a Table Viewer option in the popup menu. Additionally, double-clicking the synonym or table does not open the table viewer, "No Structure" is displayed in the structure window. However, when creating the same connection in JDeveloper 9i I am able to view the table structure... so the problem doesn't appear to be database rights. Is there some configuration setting in JDeveloper 10g that I have overlooked?

What version of the database are you using?
In JDeveloper 10g, you won't see "Table Viewer" on the context menu (you should just see "Open" instead). However, you should definitely be able to see the structure when the table is selected, and you should see the table viewer when double-clicking on the table.
Also, can you check in the console window (run jdev.exe to see the console window) to see if there are any exceptions being thrown?

1) Build a dashboard prompt for Customer Number. and save to a PV.
2) Build a report with all the columns for customer and order (in Criteria View) with a filter for the PV to capture the dashboard prompt.
3) Build a pivot table with Customer Number and Customer Name in the Rows section. Put the Customer Address in the Measures section and change the Aggregation Rule to Max.
This will serve as the summary table showing only the information of the customer selected.
2) Build Pivot Table:2 with the Order details.
3) In the Compound Layout, put Pivot table one on the top and Pivot Table:2 below it.
When a customer is selected, you will have the customer data with the order details under it for that customer only.

You create and distribute a model in BD64. The details of that are stored in this tables.
A model gives you the details of the sender / receiving systems and what are the message types that are getting transferred between these systems.
Regarding the IDOC segments issue, can you explaing how are you triggering the IDOC and which message / idoc type you are dealing with.

JDeveloper 10g and Struts Page Flow

Hello,
First of all, I'd like to congratulate JDev Team for providing us with this amazing new tool.
I am evaluating JDeveloper 10g and its Struts/Tiles integration, since we are now selecting the IDE to be used by our company in its projects.
I noted the following: In Struts Page Flow, the component pallete does not have a component do represent a Tiles definition.
I'd like to know if there are plans to include such a component, considering that this is crucial to our projects.
If not, could you please provide us with directions to do so ?

Juarez,
You are quite correct that the visual Struts modeling does not support tiles yet. Rest assured that it's on the list of features we're working on.
What that means is that you're not going to visualise the links / submits from the tiles themselves.
However, the tiles taglib is available in the visual JSP editor so you should have no problem creating tiles content.
Likewise you can create the relevant plug-in entries for tiles by right clicking on the Struts Config node in the Structure Pane (when the struts-config or the diagram is selected) and from the new menu you'll see plug-in.
The final option is of course to edit the XML directy should you want to.

JDeveloper 10g and 9iOA side by side

Hi! is it ok if i run 10g and 9iOA side by side?
Im thinking do the UIX page/view in 10g so i can do previews and then just import the generated UIX in 9iOA. Im trying to re-design the main page of EBS 11.5.9 and currently only Jdev 9iOA is supported.

JDeveloper 10g Form design view error

Hello,
I have a strange problem in JDeveloper 10g (10.1.3.50, Windows7 64bit)
Some forms I can't see in View window, and therefore I can't select and edit properties in Property inspector, also in UI complete structure is missing.

Problem was resolved with this changes.
I don't know yet what caused this form to be erroneously created.

JDeveloper 10g and ClearCase

I tried to configure JDeveloper 10g to use the ClearCase versioning tool and received the following message:
Warning: A supported ClearCase version has not been detected in your system environment path.
I checked the PATH env and ClearCase is there.
The JDev Help docs state that ClearCase 2002/4.0 is supported. Our Rational suite is 2003.
I'd like to know if the final release of JDev 10g will support the 2003 version. This is critical, we are planning to upgrade to JDev10g to take advantage of new features and we are not able to use Rational 2002 anymore, mainly because Rational now only supports the 2003 suite.
We'd like to know what's planned for 10g regarding this issue.

Brian - you are right. I was able to create a workarea inside a ClearCase view, and immediately JDeveloper began offering an option to add objects to version control. I still get the "Warning" every time I start up JDeveloper, and that is annoying, but it is only a warning and everything works anyway.

Integration (JDeveloper 10G and SCM 9i)

I am new working with JDeveloper and SCM.
Is it possible to integrate JDeveloper 10G to SCM 9i, or should I use the same version for both products, in order to reduce future problems?
Now I am having some problems, for example:
1) I can not move a business component from a package to another. Both packages are checked out. The BC4J is checked out, too.
2) When I try to add a new JSP to the struts file from the graphic view, I have to check out both files the strust,xml and StrutsPageFlow.oxd_struts.
3) When I delete a file it is not deleted in the repository.
Are these problems related to the version, or should I install something else?

AFAIK support for Oracle SCM is not yet implemented in JDeveloper 10g. Oracle promises to publish it on Extension Exchange (http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/htdocs/partners/addins/exchange/index.html) as soon as it will be available. I don't expect it released anytime soon :-(
Last version of JDeveloper in which I saw that working was 9.0.3.3. Since then it's been worse and worse.

Formatting of Tray and Table view

Hi ,
We have a requirement in which we are using Table views and Tray's at multiple places. Now we want to format all of them in the same way, i.e if I change the font size for one table view element , it should be changed for all table view elements on all pages. ( Similarly for other properties) . How can we do this?

for all the properties use variables and for each property use the same name.
for example for design property of all tableview use variable design. and modify the value for desing only once and it affects all the tableviews.
(check out sample application htmlb_samples/default.htm and click on say button (in the tree node) - in this on the top on right side you can pass various values for properties and it gets applied to the result in the bottom portion)

Discoverer Plus 10g Title & Table Viewing Size

Is there a way to increase the screen resolution of the title and table area in Discoverer Plus 10g? The font size says 10pt, but on the screen it looks more like 4pt. I couldn't find any settings in Plus to change it. Thanks, Amy.

Cause
By default in Discoverer Plus 10.1.2 fonts are rendered smaller in Java
than in other Windows applications.
Already saved workbooks will not have any change in font and formats even if
your default fonts are changed unless these workbooks are explicitly opened and
modified for using new fonts. The cause for this behavior is that when
workbooks are saved, font information is also along with it. This is very lengthy approach if you have over 1,000 upgraded workbooks.
Solution
To implement the solution, for existing/upgraded workbooks please execute the following steps:
Set AdjustPlusFontSize = "True" in pref.txt file.
This setting will make Discoverer Plus to display the font size correctly. It specifies whether Discoverer Plus Relational adjusts the font size to correct a discrepancy in the Java virtual machine, resulting in a smaller font size than other Windows applications.
true = adjust font sizes
false = do not adjust font sizes
1.Navigate to <Discoverer Home>/discoverer/util directory.
2.Edit pref.txt file and modify the setting as
AdjustPlusFontSize = "true"
under [Application] section
3.Run the script applypreferences.sh

Beyond this our ADF Faces Components are built on top of DHTML for those who don't want to hand code DHTML

Resize theb image in the Tab Bar and Table View

Hi,
I have image of 64x64.
I want to resize the image to fit it into Table View and also in the Tabbar.
I don't want to provide separate images for each.
Is it possible?

The mozilla.widget.render-mode preference works in beta 6, but this preference has now been removed from the latest development builds and will not work in beta 7 or later.

Jdeveloper 10g and MySQL

Have any one try to connect to MySQL using Jdeveloper 10g?

I have a mysql connection and everything works good. I have the "SQL flavor" set to SQL92 and the "Type" to Java. I can create business components from the connection and test them. "SELECTS" work fine, but if I try to update or insert, I get an error stating that "Callable Statements not supported". Why on earth would it try and use a "CallableStatement" for INSERT and UPDATE statements??
Here is the full trace:

How to show one prompt that works for both Graph and Table views?

Have an analysis with a graph and a table. The information in the table and graph are different so cannot use a pivot table w/graph.
Each view has a view prompt for Year and Month (tried both separately and also as one combined column ‘201001’) so user can easily change months.
Too much data to use the slider because it will not graph.
Page prompt does not allow user to switch dates easily.
Since this will be a link from a dashboard, do not think making this a dashboard from a dashboard would be good so not a dashboard prompt.
Saw something about Master Detail linking, but does not appear to work with graph prompts.
How would the analysis be configured to show one prompt that works for both the Table and the Graph?
One prompt would change both the table and the graph.

Master Detail Linking almost works.
Table view can show all the results without error.
Graph view needs to be limited or errs with "Exceeded configured maximum number of allowed input records."
Is there a way to set the initial Master Detail Linking value to the top sorted value?
