JDeveloper 11g : FTP support to open remote files

Is there any way in JDev 11g to open files through ftp just like in eclipse...
The application source is located in a remote machine which can be accessed through ftp.
I need to open the application from my local machine JDev.
Is there any way to do so?
If no then Is there any plugin for supporting this feature in JDev 11g...
Thanks

User,
Not that I know of, no.

From the error message above,  please check the permission for file writing , it seems that this issue is related to access permission.

  • Kate won't open remote files upgrading to KF5

    Hello,
Today I updated all the packages and I noticed that KDE Frameworks 5 was introduced. It seemed exciting, however after starting Dolphin and logging to an FTP server using Kwallet, I tried editing a remote file with Kate, like I've been doing for many years now, Kate asked to migrate the kwallet to a newer version. That seemed to go smoothly, but whenever a remote file is loaded it is displayed empty. I've tried restarting, using another FTP server, etc. Nothing helped. Is there something I need to set up first to make it work or something? There are no errors or warnings. I'm using Arch x64.
    Thanks!
EDIT: Also, what I noticed is that when opening a remote file, temporary file in /tmp is created like "katepartTJ3018.php" and alongside "katepartTJ3018.php.part". The .part file has all the needed contents in it, however the non .part file stays empty.

Further to this, the process for saving files remotely has changed since KDE4 and is far less useful.  Is there any way around this, to return to the previous behaviour, or is this just a change in kf5?  I now have to close Kate for changes to be uploaded, instead of the file being replaced on save.
    1. Browse to FTP folder in Dolphin
    2. Click to open a file in Kate - this opens the file in Kate, with the path /var/tmp/kdecache-$USER/krun/###-$FILENAME
    3. Make an edit and save - file seems to be edited locally only
    4. Close Kate and get a dialogue: "The file ftp://PATH has been modified. Do you want to upload the changes?"
    5. Click 'upload' and then changes take effect.
I'm also getting occasional crashes in Dolphin where I have to force quit.  It may not be related, but seems to occur when I'm opening a few files in Kate and saving - this is even with local files.
    Any suggestions welcome.
Same thing occurs when you use any other non-KDE app like Geany. You can tell whether or not the file will be saved seamlessly, by looking at the title of the open document. If it's ####_#_filename (or something similar), then it will work like you described. If it's the real filename, then it's seamless.
It's not a new feature, it worked like this ages ago. Only thing is that Kate/KWrite supported the seamless saving/uploading before KF5 came to town. Removing %U from associations strips Kate from seamless saving/uploading but it enables it to open files properly again.

  • JDeveloper 11g & ADF: supported version of svn server/client question

    Hi all,
I would like to setup a repository for our dev team, we are coming from jdev 10g with svn server 1.3.2 and tortise svn 1.4.8. After reading through John Stegeman's ADF Development Essentials documents, I noticed this article was published back in 2008 and the supported version at that time was 1.4x. What is the current supported svn server and client (i would like to use tortise svn in conjunction with jdev plugin) version for JDeveloper 11g?
    Thanks,

  • DW MX 2004 Crashes Opening Remote File

    Hello all,
New to the forums and DW. I just installed our co.'s copy of
Dreamweaver MX 2004 on my machine, Windows XP, sp2 and it is
activated. I setup a site to access a mapped network drive that
resides on my machine which accesses a shared directory on a server
on our LAN, a development server (IIS 5). Whenever I attempt to
open a file on that server, DW crashes immediately. My account has
administrator rights on that server so it doesn't appear to be a
security problem. The files are HTML and CSS files, some PHP, but
any file that I open crashes it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

THis is a complicated arrangement with mapped drives. I would
    recommend you
contact Adobe Tech Support to get the issue solved, but
    unfortunately,
DMX2004 is not being supported any longer.
Would it be possible to upgrade to the latest version?

  • Can not open remote files

Code allows me to open a web folder on a local server but not to open an individual html file. Do files have to be located on local hard drive in order to open and edit? Back to Dreamweaver...

Correct, you need to work with local files. While it is convenient to edit
over FTP, I'd probably recommend against it.
    You could consider this plugin:

  • Is there a way to reach remote files with KDE? [Solved, I hope]

I cant reach anything remote any longer. At first I noticed that Kate was unable to open remote files. But there is more, I cant even navigate on my own network. Before the update my network was almost as an internal disk and now its completely useless. The plasma 5 file navigator is a total joke. Network isn't even an option there, only local files.
Is there a fix to this or will there be updates with a solution? I have tried various tips and installed kio-xxx.
My current KDE version is 4.14.6.

You wrote that you're on KDE4 in your first post. This would mean you currently have a mix of qt4 and qt5 apps running.
I know Kate was ported to qt5 already, as well as gwenview, not sure about others. Those won't be able to display the native dialog anymore, because they only include the latest version of the Qt dialog, while you need the older one.
I remember reading about Kate not being able to read from network files because it needs the qt5 version of the framework to do so.
The solution to get that and the native file dialogs would be to either
    - update to kde5
    - downgrade the affected apps to the last version which used qt4
Personally, I currently froze all my kde packages at their kde4 versions, because kde5 was running less that stable on my test machine. This is usually frowned upon, because you're missing out on any security/bug fixes the newer versions might contain.
But in case of kde5, I'd rather have a stable system that might or might not be vulnerable, than an unstable one.
Also, updating to kde5 actually reverses the problem from what I remember: you will get the native dialog for all apps already ported to kde5 and the generic one for all that have not yet been ported.

  • Illustrator no longer opens FH files!

Just a 'heads up' to anyone who may still be lurking this board. With the release of Illustrator CS6 Adobe has apparently dropped support for opening FreeHand files i.e. Ai CS6 no longer opens FH files! Whether this is a short term glitch will probably largely depend on how vociferous the FH user base are in their desire to see this functionality restored. It seems to me now more than ever (esp. on Mac's going forward) that we do need to know there will be a program capable of running on contemporary architectures that can open FH files.
    Les

To run PPC programs you need Rosetta, which is discontinued with Lion.
To keep it possible for people to run Rosetta software, Apple greatly reduced the price of the server version of Snow Leopard, Snow Leopard Server. Although you won't need the server stuff, it is a version that has a EULA that allows you to run virtual installations of 10.6 on your Mac too. So you can legally install a Snow Leopard version in Virtual Box for example. You can make a lean OSX install with Freehand and other apps you like to continue running, and put them in a virtual environment.
    So to run Freehand
    - Start Virtual Box, you can set it up to automatically boot into the virtual Snow install. It will work on any mac from 10.6-10.9 and further into the future.
    - Start Freehand (Virtual box also has a mode to start virtualised apps directly from the doc, but I think that feature only works for Windows programs now). Share the project file folder of the Mac to the virtual system to be able to access and write to all relevat file directories.
    - After use, save state. The virtual mac will be stored in its last state, in maybe 10 seconds. This way it will boot straight into Freehand very fast next time.

  • Working with the CSS in JDeveloper 11g

    Hi All,
I am working on the CSS of the JSF and the ADF Components in JDeveloper11g.
When adding the components it is generating the css for those component dynamically .
When seeing the CSS file Iam unable to understand for which component this particular css is getting affected.
How can I get a clear Idea of how to work with the css of the JDeveloper 11g Components are there any jar files that are generating this css.
    Please help me out.
    Thanks
    Madhavi.

    Hi,
the use of CSS hasn't change between JDeveloper 11 and 10.1.3. You have two options:
    1) create an external CSS file that uses ADF Faces skin selectors and configure it as a skin to ADF Faces
    2) Use the inlineStyle property of the components to customize the look and feel
    See 10.1.3 documentation:

  • How to set File Encoding to UTF-8 On Save action in JDeveloper 11G R2?

    Hello,
I am facing issue when I am modifying a File using JDeveloper 11G R2. JDeveloper is changing the Encoding of the File to System default Encoding (ANSI) instead of UTF-8. I have updated the Encoding to UTF-8 in "Tools | Preferences | Environment | Encoding" option and restarted the JDeveloper. I have also updated "Project Properties | Compiler | Character Encoding" option to UTF-8. None of them are working.
I am using below version of JDeveloper,
    Oracle JDeveloper 11g Release 2 11.1.2.3.0
    Studio Edition Version 11.1.2.3.0
    Product Version: 11.1.2.3.39.62.76.1
I created a file in UTF-8 Encoding. I opened it, do some changes and Save it.
When I open the "Properties" tab using "Help | About" Menu, I can see that the Properties of JDeveloper are showing encoding as Cp1252. Is it related?
    Properties
    sun.jnu.encoding
    Cp1252
    file.encoding
    Cp1252
Any idea how to make sure JDeveloper saves the File in UTF-8 always?
    - Sujay

I have already done that. That is the first thing I did as mentioned in my Thread. I have also added below 2 options in jdev.conf and restarted JDeveloper, but that also did not work.
    AddVMOption -Dfile.encoding=UTF-8
    AddVMOption -Dsun.jnu.encoding=UTF-8

  • FTP Time Out - Cannot Open Remote Folder

I am using Dreamweaver CS3 and windows Vista.  I have set-up site definition (with user id and password) and used to be able to connect to the remote server, open remote folders, and upload and download files using Dreamweaver.  However, all of sudden I cannot open the host directory remote folder where all of my website information are, It just times out.  I can connect to the server, if I don't specify the host directory.  I changed FTP time out in dreamwever to increase ftp time, but still it times out.  I used to be able to open the host directory without any problem, and I have not changed any information in site definition. I have tried to use fireFTP, and I can connect to the server but cannot open the the host directory, same as in Dreamweaver.
Other pople working on the same website, with same site definition with the same user name and password can connect and open the same host directory remote folder using Dreamweaver on their pcs without any problem.  So it seems like the problem is with my pc or Dreamweaver setting, even though I have not changed any settings.
Does anyone know what would be causing this problem and how I can resolve this issue?  Thanks.

I found out that the remote folder which I can't open (host directory) contains many wmv video files, which might be causing the problem of timing out using Dreamweaver on my PC.  Other people can open the same folder using their Dreamweaver on their PCs.
I can connect to another remote server and open all the folders in Dreamweaver without any problems.
Is there any settings I can change in Dreamweaver or on PCs to resolve this issue, or any other suggestions?  Thanks.

  • Jdeveloper 11g - JAX-RPC 1.1 method is not supported in WLS 8.1 clients.

    Hi,
I am using Jdeveloper 11g and migrating a web Service Proxy created using jdeveloper 10g.
I imported all the proxy classes and when I try to run web service client In Jdeveloper 11g I get the following error
"JAX-RPC 1.1 method is not supported in WLS 8.1 clients. If you are attempting to run an OC4J 10.1.3 JAX-RPC client in WLS, please see the Web Service Migration Guide for instructions."
Please advise on how to solve this?
which is the offending jar/library file in Jdeveloper 11g which is causing the above error?.
Is the above problem there in the WebLogic Server Runtime also?
    Please let me know.
    2) I cannot generate web server proxies also with jdev11g because the wsdl has overloaded methods omitting the name property within the input and output message, ie, they have a null name. therefore Jdeveloper 11g is using the library which
when called with an overloaded operation that contains null input/output message names, a duplicate error occurs because it sees other operations with the same name. so it is effectively not allowing to create the web service proxies.
    Thanks,
Appreciate your quick response to the above

Have you checked the 'Web Service Migration Guide' mentioned in the error message?

  • SSIS and Secured FTP Commands to GET a Remote File using wildcards

So my biggest caveat here is dealing with wildcards! For the life of me I cannot find any good examples of SSIS and scripting that uses FTP wildcards to GET certain Files. In a nutshell, here's what I need to do...
Query a SQL Server Database which has a parsed File Name, the first 50 characters of the file name.
The Query "Result Set" is put into an Object Variable User::SQLServerFileList
I then utilize a "Foreach Loop Container" which reads the User::SQLServerFileList and puts it into Variable User::SQLServerFileNm...which is again the first 50 characters of the File Name
Within the "Foreach Loop Container", I then utilize an "Expression Task" which builds a variable User::RemoteFileLookup which is a concatenation of the User::RemoteFolderPath + User::SQLServerFileNm + the wildcard *(Variable
    User::RemoteWildCard)
I then try and utilize a "FTP Task" to use that concatenated Variable to go and GET the Filename but every time I try, it does not like what I'm sending via the "FTP Task"
Error: 0x0 at TF Secure FTP Task, ExecuteTask Failed:: Illegal characters in path.
I realize I might have to do something like this via C#.
My biggest challenge is providing the GET Command via the Remote FTP Site with a parsed Filename and utilizing a wildcard.
    mc7i1231_20140227_050114_27_05_02_09*.999
And the Filename that exists on the FTP Server is...
    mc7i1231_20140227_050114_27_05_02_09_x12_a43419452ca844a9b8a00f61e655dca3.x12-20140303180032.999
Can any gurus out there PLEASE help me out???
Thanks in advance for your review and am hopeful for a reply.
    PSULionRP

    Hi PSULionRP,
    According to the document
FTP Task, we can read that:
The FTP task supports the ? and * wildcard characters in paths. This lets the task access multiple files. However, you can use wildcard characters only in the part of the path that specifies the file name. For example, C:\MyDirectory\*.txt is a valid
    path, but C:\*\MyText.txt is not.
So, when you use expression tobuild the variable RemoteFolderPath, make sure the evaluated value of the expression conforms to the above rule.
