Jdeveloper compatibility with sun solaris

hello, currently im using sun solaris. I want to know if jdeveloper is also runnable on this type of os??
thanks in advance

Hi,
you will have to use the Base install and provide the OS specific JDK to run JDeveloper
http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/jdev/htdocs/soft10133.html
"This release of JDeveloper is tested and supported on the specific versions Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X, as listed in Section 1.1 below. In addition, it is supported on any operating system that supports Sun Java SE Development Kit (JDK) 5.0 Update 6 or later."

  • Jdeveloper 9i with Sun ONE (iPlanet) Web Server 6.0

    Hi,
Has any one working Jdeveloper 9i with Sun ONE (iPlanet) Web Server 6.0 ?
When i add new application server it gives only Oracle App Server and Web Logic.
    Thanks
    Ramesh

Currently JDeveloper provides Application server connections to Oracle9iAS and WebLogic, which can be used to deploy J2EE Modules.
JDeveloper allows to create assemble generic J2EE archives from projects which can used to deploy to other application servers.

  • ColdFusion compatibility with Sun Java System Application Server

Background: A vendor that is doing a project for our
department told us that ColdFusion MX 6.1 is not compatible with
Sun Java System Application Server Enterprise Edition 8.1 and
beyond. Since we are migrating our server environment to this
release of Sun Java System Application Server Enterprise Edition,
we face a difficult situation in that our ColdFusion applications
will no longer run. Thus, we would like Adobe to answer a couple
questions which will help us determine what course of action we
    ought to take.
Q: Will applications we developed using ColdFusion MX 6.1 run
on Sun Java System Application Server Enterprise Edition 8.1? Below
is a detailed description of the Sun Java System Application Server
Enterprise Edition we intend to migrate to.
Q: Is Adobe aware of any compatibility issues with this
    configuration?
Q: What is Adobe's support commitment regarding future
releases of ColdFusion MX and Sun Java System Application Server
Enterprise Edition? Does Adobe intend to continue support this
    environment?
Configuration: Sun Java System Application Server Enterprise
    Edition 8.1_02 (build b24-p11)
Below is the specification levels for the 8.1 server
(J2EE1.4), note it can use J2SE 1.4.2_06 or 5.0 as the JAVA
    runtime.
    J2EE 1.4 compatible
    Components: J2SE 1.4.2_06 or J2SE 5.0
    Application and Application Client
    Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB) 2.1
    Java Servlet 2.4
    JavaServer Pages(JSP) 2.0
    J2EE Connector Architecture 1.5
    JMX 1.2
    JMS 1.1
Java Naming and Directory Interface (JNDI) 1.2
and Java Transaction API (JTA) 1.0
Web Services:Java Web Services Developer Pack 1.5
Java APIs for XML Registries (JAXR) 1.0
Java API for XML-based Remote Procedure Calls (JAX-RPC) 1.1
SOAP With Attachments API for Java (SAAJ) 1.2
    WS-I Basic Profile 1.0
    Other:J2EE Deployment 1.1
    J2EE Management 1.0
Java API for XML Processing (JAXP) 1.2
    JavaMail 1.3
Java Authentication and Authorization Service (JAAS) 1.0
Java Authorization Contract for Containers (JACC) 1.0

First of all, is there a reason why you are using jRockit?
Since the issue appeared after upgrading the windows, the issue would potentially be in the interaction between JVM and OS.
Also, there were some issues related to memory leak that were fixed in AS 8.2.
May be you should try with a Sun JVM and AS 8.2.

  • Oracle JDeveloper 10g with Sun Java App server

I have oracle JDeveloeper 10g and sun App Server 8. I want to find out if JDeveloper can create entity beans that can run on Sun app server.
I know that sun app server uses things like sun-cmp-mapping.xml and sun-ejb-jar.xml. If i create these as normal in JDeveloper would they run on sun app server? if not what configuration do i need to do?

Sun Java App Server 8 doesn't ship with the Apache Tomcat jk/jk2 connector. But you can download Tomcat 5 and install it. Copy ${catalina_home}/server/lib/tomcat-jk2.jar under $s1as_home}/lib
Now Sun Java App Server 8 will have the code required. Then you will need to start the jk connector (this is the most difficult task). Since you don't have any API to start this connector to listen (in Tomcat, the connector is started by default and listen on port 8009), the only way for you to start it is to use JMX. Pick one of the available JMX client ( jmx-ri is a good candidate), and do:
    (1) create the connector
    (2) start the connector
Then follow the Jakarta Tomcat instruction on how to install Apache and JK2.
I didn't spend the time to find the exact command for JMX, but technically it should work. Once I have time I will take a look (The Tomcat 5 Admin Gui uses JMX, so by browing the code you should find the exact JMX command)
    Hope that help.

  • Jdeveloper compatability with SOA 11g

    Hi
Is it manadatory to use Jdeveloper 11g for our development when using SOA 11g?
The problem is that I tried to install Jdeveloper 11g, then it is coming by default with Jdeveloper Studio, ADF, weblogic server.
If I go for custom installation and I select only Jdeveloper Studio, it is automatically selecting weblogic serve also. I don't want to install weblogic server again.
    Could anybody tell me?
    Thanks

    Thanks Anuj.
This document is useful. I installed Jdeveloper without Weblogic installation. I have to sellect existing Middleware Home for installing this. Then it is not prompting for installing weblogic.

  • How do I setup high speed internet on Sun Solaris 10?

    Hello,
I have comcast high speed internet. It doesn't work automatically. How can I setup my high speed internet connection to work with Sun Solaris 10?
    Mateusz

Pickup a broadband router, made by dlink, linksys, netgear, SMC or Cisco. If possible get a wireless with 4 port switch built in. This will give you added flexibility if you happen to get another system or a wireless laptop. You want a gateway router that does NAT, SPI firewall, DHCP.
Plug it into your cable modem then into your sun box, default settings on the router will generally self configure to the broadband you connect to and there will be no problems. However if you are using a DSL or bigpond they require a username and password to get the line active, this requires an initial login to the firewall to pick PPoE on the WAN side.
Different brands default to different 'non routeable' internal IP's, all are 192.168.x.x, smc defaults to 192.168.1.x or 192.168.2.x depending on release date, Linksys defaults to 192.168.2.x as does linksys, Netgear defaults to 192.168.1.x, the owners manual will usually tell you this.
They are generally made to default to a windows box so configuring a unix box has to be done either manually or with the dhcp option. www.dslreports.com has alot of good vendor specific information on configuring these things.
At any rate you need to create a file in /etc called 'defaultrouter' with the routers IP address, in the smc case it would be 192.168.2.1, pick a couple of outside DNS servers and put them in a file in /etc called resolv.conf in the format
    nameserver xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
    nameserver xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
    copy nsswitch.dns nsswitch.conf
pick an address in the 192.168.2 range like .25 and add it in the /etc/hosts file, create a hostname.hme0 file with the host name thats in the hosts file and reboot.
Then try to ping the router, if no ping then the chang the 3td octet 1 instead of 2 and try again.
I've never tried doing the .dhcp thing but I've never used dhcp for a sun box before because all I do is servers.
I think I'd try the DHCP thing first then get to the router to get all it's information and write it down. Usually the ISP will populate the router with dns servers and any dns requests are answered by the router in the dhcp configuration. I think thats about it...

  • JavaMail from Sun Solaris

Ok, I am fairly new to Java. I am trying to send a simpole mail from our Sun Solaris box. With perl or shell I use the malix program. How do I get java to envoke the same program, or is it even possible. If not, is there a default SMPT mail program that comes with Sun Solaris that I can use as the name for the following code:
    props.put("mail.smtp.host", smtpServer);
    Session session = Session.getDefaultInstance(props, null);

  • Sun Compiler Compatibility with g++

I am new to C++ so I believe this is a basic question.
I was given the job of compiling a C++ program to be compatible with Sun compiler 5.5 Patch 113817-19 2006/10/13 on Solaris 9 Sparc. Since I did not have the Sun One Studio 8 I compiled the program using G++ 3.4.6. Question: will this program compiled with g++ 3.4.6 satisfy the requirements.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    --Acevez

You have to ask those imposing the requirement what they actually care about.
If you need binary compatibility, the answer is "No." Object code produced from C++ source code by any version of Sun C++ cannot be linked with object code produced from C++ source code by any version of g++.
If the requirement is that the source code be successfully compiled by Sun ONE Studio 8 (C++ 5.5), the answer is "maybe." Limitations include the following:
    1. Every compiler has bugs. Code might trigger a bug in one compiler but not in a different compiler.
    2. g++ has extensions not supported by Sun C++ 5.5. Source code that uses an unsupported extension probably won't work the same (and probably won't compile) with Sun C++ 5.5. If you write code for use with g++, you might not know when you are using a g++ extension.
    3. The default version of the C++ Standard Library used by Sun C++ is libCstd, which does not fully conform to the C++ standard. Sun C++ also provides the STLport library as an option. Standard-conforming source code that works with g++ and its libstdc++ might not work with Sun C++ libCstd, but will probably work wtih STLport. If you are not allowed to use STLport with Sun C++ and write code for g++, you might write code that depends on features not supported by libCstd.
In summary, you are asking questions about portability. The short answer is that
    A. C++ object code is in general not portable among C++ compilers, and
    B. You don't know whether source code is portable until you port it.
That said, most programmers find most of the time that well-written code that has portability in mind works fine with Sun C++.
Finally, Sun Studio 8 is obsolete. It would be better to use the current release, Sun Studio 11, which is free. You can get it here:
    http://developers.sun.com/sunstudio
Sun Studio 11 is source and binary compatible with Sun Studio 8, in the following sense:
Valid source code that works with Sun Studio 8 will also work with Sun Studio 11.
Object code produced by Sun Studio 8 can be linked into programs built by Sun Studio 11.
    Good luck!

The foregoing list shows that I do not have sufficient disk space. Oracle Install documentation says I should have 3GB for a full install. My second hard disk should be able to handle this, but I do not know yet how I can add more disk space to the file system. Can you please tell me how I can do this?
Meanwhile I am deleting the 13 files 9iAS10220_part1 through 9iAS10220_part13 to free up some disk space. Having extracted files and created Disk1 through Disk5, I do not think I will need these 13 files anymore.
I am still trying to understand what runInstaller script is trying to do.

    Hi Vinu,
I'm not sure if this is still an issue for you. When I have encountered issues like this with Pro*C I have ended up specifying parse=none to the proc command and then putting all declarations between "EXEC SQL BEGIN DECLARE SECTION" and "EXEC SQL END DECLARE SECTION" markers. I have also moved any "special" declarations into a specific header file and then placed the "#include <special header file>" inside the declare section as well.
Perhaps that will help a bit,
    Regards,
    Mark
